"A stroll through this pedestrian-friendly neighborhood near Lake Eola in downtown Orlando yields plenty to see and do. Design a T-shirt on the spot at Mother Falcon’s pop-up factory, see what’s happening at the creative collaborative Urban ReThink, or stock up on women’s clothing at Zou Zou. The Falcon ticks off a couple of boxes because it’s not only a bar but also an exhibition space for the works of local artists and there’s frequently live music."

Yelp
The Thornton Park District of Orlando is a small neighborhood located on the edge of downtown Orlando. It is not far from Lake Eola Park and has some cool restaurants that are definitely worth checking out. However, you might find that parking is a bit of a hassle. This is a very trendy and hit neighborhood and I'm sure that housing prices reflect that. However, it is a cool neighborhood to walk around and check out some of the cool stores, restaurants and local art that they have available in this neighborhood. Overall, I'm going to give this five stars. If you find yourself in the downtown Orlando area, come check this funky neighborhood out.

Yelp
I'm reviewing Thornton Park District's Night Market held at the TPD Circle on select nights (I check their social media for updates). This is such a fantastic opportunity for the community to shop small and support local. I went on a Saturday night and over 25 vendors were there -- a wide variety of shops and food trucks, with music and a great atmosphere! This is a fun evening out around Lake Eola that I highly recommend.

Yelp
A small area that shares space with Downtown Orlando, it has a ton of shops, restaurants, and local fun art. We frequent the local parking garage as it's always easy to find a spot and get in and out without issue. They accept all forms of credit cards, which isn't always the case for some of the garages in the area. Be sure to check out some of the fantastic mural art and electrical box art that can be found throughout. I love that they keep it unique and funky, while also giving local artist a fun way to showcase their work. Overall: A Great area for food and fun. Good restaurants and shops.

Yelp
2018 Review 44/100 Downtown for those who are past the college party days and don't want to deal with the nonsense on Church Street or Wall Street. Thornton Park is a really great little area of downtown. There are a lot of great restaurants and some good bars as well as great shops. Fun things to do from day into night. And it's situated right next to Lake Eola Park so you can enjoy that as well. Plus, the Orlando Farmer's Market on Sundays. There is pretty much something for everyone here.

Yelp
The summary of this neighborhood really hits the nail on the head: "Visitors looking to decompress will find real relief in the brick-lined streets of Thornton Park, the city's most stylish district. Just east of Lake Eola in downtown's green heart, the residential neighborhood, is home to street after street of oak-shaded bungalows, many built in the original Florida "cracker" style with wraparound front porches. A colorful commercial district stretches along Washington Street, Summerlin Avenue and Central Boulevard, with a European feel to the restaurants and boutiques contained therein." Living only seconds from Lake Eola, Thornton Park is within walking distance of my home and it really is a charming neighborhood. Cute boutiques, awesome restaurants and community driven events. My go-to locations in Thornton Park are definitely Mother Falcon, Marie France, Urban ReThink, Chilly Spoons, Aroma, and Hue. I dig the Thornton 3rd Thursday Art Walk, The pooch event that Lamb Eat Ivy puts on every year and the art shows that Mother Falcon puts on monthly. It really is a great neighborhood overall!

Yelp
I have been living in Orlando since 1973. I remember when this neighborhood was not so nice. Back then it was run down nobody wanted to live downtown Orlando. My how things have changed. A lot of the homes in the area have been renovated updated. I just love all the point of little mom-and-pop type of shops. Restaurants, bakeries, bars, all kinds of places to see visit do and drink. It is now one Orlando's finer neighborhoods.

Yelp
Thornton Park District is a gem of Orlando that I discovered when I did the Wine Walk while on vacation in Orlando. Now that I'm a resident, it is quickly becoming one of my favorite areas to be. I like strolling up and down E. Washington St and just popping into different establishments to see what they are offering. It reminds a little of some of the places that I left behind when I moved here. It is riddled with locally owned establishments (restaurants, bars, shops, etc.) that give it a very small town personal touch. I think that it has an old, cozy and eclectic ambiance. When I'm in Thornton Park District, I almost forget that it is apart of Orlando. Although the Thornton Park parking garage is nearby, I prefer to park on the neighborhood streets and walk a block or two.

Yelp
Beautiful park with a lake, playground and plenty of ducks. I went on Sunday during a Brazilian festival and market.

Yelp
This is a really nice urban neighborhood that really has it all. You have retail and residential well mixed. It is very walkable and bike friendly. It adjoins Lake Eola Park, which is a City highlight. Their are plenty of dining options here, althogh I do sorely miss the Hue, which was my favorite. Overall a great neighborhood and well worth visiting.

Yelp
I heart me some Thornton Park. It is such a cute little part of town. The fountain in the middle of the road captures the charm of this neighborhood. A bit hipstery, fun and quirky. There are a number of restaurants, shops and bars. They each have distinct personality unique to itself. The best part is the ample street parking. Most of the side streets are residential and have street parking. If you don't mind walking a few blocks. There are a couple of lots as well.

Yelp
The round about with the fountain is the best. . .love it. . . More of a real Orlando in this area near lake Eola. Parking can be tricky at times, but other than that, great area to just walk around and make lots of memories.

Yelp
Wonderful park nearby with lots of green space & a large lake in the middle. There is a place by the Disney amphitheater that rents swan boats to take out on the lake, which was a blast! There is also a bunch of restaurants around with a wide variety of food.

Yelp
***This review is for the NYE Block Party held in the district*** The block party held was a complete joke. The event was clearly not organized or it was not equipped to handled the volume of customers that showed up to the event at the very least. The bars were all understaffed (perhaps they had several call outs or no shows - hence places will typically overstaff to ensure this doesn't happen). One inside bar only had 2 bartenders and the line was out the door. We tried another inside bar, same thing. The circular bar outside in the street had 3-4 bartenders but the lines were out of control and the bartenders were not moving the lines at all. It was so out of hand, several patrons started getting pretty rowdy. There was no security walking around. The sidewalks were somewhat dangerous. Directly in front of Graffiti Junktion, the side walk is not flush with the ground (not the pavement, the sandy dirt ground). The drop off was about 6-7 inches and there were roots and soft dirt that made it dangerous to step down or up on if you were wearing high heels. Lastly, I paid for a ticket and the security and bouncer staff did not even look at it. Had I known that they weren't checking the tickets, I would have skipped purchasing all together or split a ticket with a friend and risked the staff actually checking.

Yelp
Went to the Wine and Art Walk and it was a blast. The whole neighborhood was very trendy, fun and upbeat. And the wine and art walk was only $10. They do it every 2nd Thursday of the month. Definitely going back!

Yelp
One of my favorite areas in Downtown Orlando! I get my massages from iMassage, my smoothies from Raw Juicing and Detox, brunch from Dexters, hair done at Nube Nove... The list goes on! And I always have a wonderful experience at each! It's definitely a nicer area, always great to explore during their wine walks! Recommend parking closer to Eola and walking over. Cheers to good people and great times!

Yelp
The art and wine event is a lot of fun. Thornton Park has that small town walk friendly vibe. It's a good time enjoying the art and nothing beats having a good glass of wine at the same time.

Yelp
Love this area!! Shops, dining, brick road - quite the charm! Even a small roundabout with a fountain in the middle. Go for a stroll, get a massage, bring your dog, grab some coffee for people watching, and relax! Walking distance to Lake Eola. And dont forget the unique bars! There is definitely something for everyone! Plus, every second tuesday of the month they host a wine and art stroll for a chance for drinks and seeing the works of local artists.

Yelp
I've been coming to this dentist for the past 20 years. I have worked with adriene who is the best hygienist in the entire office. I have referred friends here, my family and have never had any issues whatsoever. Today I come in for my cleaning I come prepared to pay cash because I recently was laid off and do not have health insurance. As I'm standing there the secretary at the desk hands me a bill for $320 saying that x-rays are mandatory at this visit and that she wanted to make me aware before they started working on me. I said to her I do not have health insurance or a job today I only came prepared to pay for my cleaning. My husband cancelled his dentist appointment that was scheduled for yesterday because he preferred that I get my teeth cleaned and he would get his done next time. So that way I was getting mine cleaned. Well the first front desk person was very rude then another front desk person jumped in the conversation and started to argue with me and so that I can see their point of view. She was stating that this is the new policy in the office because someone was diagnosed with cancer and they missed it because the patient always refused xrays. I said well I will sign a waiver for the insurance because if you don't have the money you, don't have the money. There was nothing they could do, the manager is not in and no pament plan to pay abother day was offered. I explained to them that my husband called several days before when he cancelled his appointment and explained that I did not have any health insurance and would be paying cash. Apparently the person who he spoke to never translated that information. But yet I received several text messages for the last 2 weeks and emails confirming my appointment. I never had a situation in like this in all the years of coming. As a matter of fact I can recall one other time that I did not have health insurance and said I will not be doing the x-rays today because I don't have health insurance I only came prepared to pay for my cleaning. I'm very disappointed. I still will come back and see Adriane because I love her to death She's an excellent hygienist but the office front staff I have no respect for. They did not do their job properly informing a patient of these new changes and policies I'm not sure who the management is that instituted it and did not train their front desk. However even saying that like I said the front desk was very defensive very argumentative not worth a referral from me unless they're coming in to see Adrienne. So beware if you don't have insurance and don't have money to pay that you will not be seen just for a cleaning. I told them I drove all the way from Disney and rearranged my schedule for a contract job to come to this appointment only to be turned away as if I was not a long standing patient. I was very disappointed to hear the front staff person say she knows the trip as she lIves in St cloud and they are losing money too because they have to pay a hygienist for work and they won't collect on it. I am sorry I said I believe I just told you I am unemployed and without insurance and you are griping to me about losing money for a hygienist fir something they failed to inform me of.
