Went on a tour today with Michael as our captain. He's freaking awesome and hilarious! As other reviewers have mentioned, it's a smaller boat (in a good way). You can bring whatever you want to drink, and boat has blankets in case it gets cold. The boat itself has a plastic top and windows that can be opened, which came in handy as it rained a few times during our tour. Michael did a excellent job with educating us about Dutch/Amsterdam history while generating lots of laughs. I felt like other canal tour boats that we passed by didn't have nearly as much fun as we did. Booking tickets online was super easy. Lots of choices when choosing a tour, but I would definitely recommended Those Dam Boat Guys.

We took a tour with Captain Julian while in Amsterdam in May. He took us to some "out of the way" spots around the city, and we thoroughly enjoyed it! We were amazed at his knowledge of the history and geography of Amsterdam. The Guys are not just a lot of fun, but also educational (don't tell them I said so!) They had drinks for sale at the office before we boarded, and we were able to use the rest rooms at their bar just down the street. We particularly enjoyed the canal-side views of the Ann Frank House, some of the cool houseboats and the LGBTQIA+ memorial. If we ever get back to Amsterdam, we'll look up these guys again!

Very friendly and down to earth crew that made us feel welcomed and relaxed. There was a perfect mix of letting everyone on board having their private time, while still guiding us through the city. A huge plus for the captain for not making it feel touristy at all. I recommend this place to the fullest. 6/5 stars, bonus star for having a cute cat named Koko in the reception.

We did a boat tour with Joe in the Jackson 5, we brought our own food/drinks and it was so chill. Joe was an amazing captain and funny! He gave us all the history in Amsterdam, answered all our questions, gave us tips where we can find good bars. Overall, a great experience with Joe! Super chill guy and just great! Definitely agree with him that seeing Amsterdam in a boat cruise is better and boat cruises are not overrated!

A very chill but amazing boat tour! We had just arrived in holland 2 hours before, extremely tired and hungry but our captain Salim made us forget all about that with his fun facts about the city and jokes throughout the tour. I would highly recommend this agency to my friends if they would ever visit Holland :)

Loved our canal tour with the young Australian guide (sorry I forgot his name) but he was FANTASTIC!!! So informative and knowledgeable but also FUNNY and FUN!! Over the course of my stay in Amsterdam, I took two canal tours, a bike tour and a walking tour and can honestly say the Dam Boat Guys tour was right up there at the top in terms of mixing history, geography and humor. Not an easy combination to pull off but it’s all right here. Love the BYOB - grab your favorite bottle of wine and enjoy!!

We had such a great time with our little group with Captain Joe, a couple from Dublin, 3 young ladies from England, their friend from Philadelphia and me, and my wife from Upstate NY. Capn Joe regaled us with his knowledge of Amsterdam history and culture. He also made us laugh with his quick wit. Would highly recommend this tour if you are looking for something fun to do while in Amsterdam, but remember BYOB.

Had genuinely such a great time on our boat tour today. From arriving at the company who were so accomodating (giving us some plastic glasses and a cooler for our drinks), our awesome captain Micheal and the enjoyable smaller boat meaning that everyone on board could have a great experience (honestly spent most of our tour chatting and bantering with everyone)!! Definitely book this tour if you want to experience the canals of Amsterdam in a more relaxed and fun way!
