We had a fantastic dinner with my family. The dishes and drinks were absolutely delicious. Most importantly, the staff were incredibly kind and friendly. It was a great night filled with unforgettable memories. Thank you so much — we look forward to seeing you again soon!

Was so pleasantly surprised after reading the mixed reviews. The vibes were amazing even on a Tuesday night. Great service - waitress Chloe was great and staff was very educated on the wine even offered us one of the menu. A great mix of tourists and non tourists and overall a perfect night walking distance to Eiffel Tower.

Great food, atmosphere and service (some of the best snails I’ve had). A big advantage of this place is that it opens at 6 PM. A small downside is a short sparkling wine list by the glass.

We visited Thoumieux on March 6th to celebrate my sister's birthday, and our dinner was fantastic! The crème brûlée and profiteroles were especially delicious. Our waiter was incredibly attentive and made sure we had a wonderful time. However, the hosting team could have been more welcoming and with less attitude. When I requested to be moved to a different table, they weren't very accommodating or helpfull. Overall, it was a lovely experience, and I'll definitely return the next time I'm in Paris.

Perfect place to start your party night! Food is OK, service amazing, prices a bit higher but OK, music is perfect and the ambience truly french! If you want to eat and party like a local, this is a place to go!

The food is not bad, but we were very disappointed by the “frozen” french fries and the onion soup (cold twice). Service is also not great. Streak tartare good.

One of the best dinners we had in Paris and the ambience can’t be beat. Our server, Chloe, was fantastic! We will definitely be back.

Personally Thoumieux is my go-to if I need a festive yet charming night out in Paris. The atmosphere is unique during the 2nd service on a friday or saturday, thanks to the piano singing. Unfortunately it is not easy to get a table there but it is part of the place’s charm and exclusivity! As for the restaurant, the food is tasty but it is definitely not the best french cuisine I had, considering the price. I can recommend their delicious pepper steak (8/10), the rigatoni (8/10) and fries looots of fries! Overall I recommend Thoumieux for a great evening, nice vibes and good music :-)

Yelp
Located in the Hotel Thoumieux, we were pleasantly surprised how good it was. We were staying at Hitel St Dominique across the street, and glad we stopped by. The inside is elegant and deserving of being more dressy, and the food was very good. Definitely recommend while in Paris: PS- if you sit outside you can see the Eiffel Tower.

Yelp
Two very distinct recent dinners, both very, very good. There's definitely talent in the kitchen and a professional service team evident on quiet weekday nights and shining on dressed up weekends. On Saturday night the room is transformed - same classic menu enhanced by live music, guests and servers dressed for a special evening. That's what it is - a wonderful environment with live music, very good classic cuisine, and professional service.

Yelp
Modern twist on the traditional Parisian brasserie next to Invalides and the Eiffel Tower. Food was delicious and good service made a very enjoyable dinner.

Yelp
We decided to go big one night in Paris and we started cross-referencing our tourist books. This appeared in all 3, so we decided we had found our destination. We arrived earlier than opening but we able to have cocktails next door and I was so glad we decided to wait. One of the best meals I have eaten in Europe. Started with the pizza, unlike any pizza I've ever had, and it was delish! Our server read the whole menu for us and made recommendations, I ordered chicken that wasn't on the menu yet. Moist, with tons of taste and just exceptional presentation. I would recommend to anyone staying in Paris for a short time to visit Hotel Thoumieux for an exceptional French cuisine!

Yelp
Great customer service. The drinks are made great and the food is mediocre. However the staff was so professional and attentive that it made the dining experience and food that much better.

Yelp
Went here for lunch one day. First of all, everybody was extremely friendly at this place (despite the group of us not having reservations and coming in for a late lunch and being the last to leave). We started off with great bread, excellent butter, sea salt and a fish spread. My friend and I got the fish - surprisingly very light (go figure for French food!). Other friend got the beef tartare and it came with fantastic French fries that we concluded must have been bathed in duck fat. Other friend got the steak which was cooked perfectly. Now the desserts. There is one that still holds a place in my heart. It was the creme caramel served in a mason jar. The liquid caramel on bottom with thousands of little black dots from the vanilla beans with perfectly smooth custard on top. And the creme de la creme (pardon the pun) was the burnt layer on top that you see on creme brulee. Some places don't get this layer right but here it was exceptionally crunchy. The other dessert was great, too - a very light almost-whipped yogurt studded with vanilla beans and served with fruit. Top this off with some rose and it was the perfect leisurely Parisian lunch.

Yelp
Don't know about a hotel, but this review is for the restaurant. A friendly, classy, bistro-like setting. The calamari dish with some type of bacon, light cream sauce and cheese scattered on top was one of the most divine dishes while in Paris. The veal that followed as a main was almost equally wonderful, one of the best if not the best veal dishes I've ever had, and optimally coupled with some truffle potatoes. My wife had the foie gras to start with poached salmon for the main, both of which were trumped by my selections... can we say entrée envy? The most memorable part of the night, however, was the cheese plate. Well, perhaps all your can eat cheese table is the better way to put it. The garcon dropped off a very large plate ( or "board"), spanning our entire table, and left it there with a couple knives. We thought for sure he was joking and that he would soon return to share with us the cheeses and slice a couple pieces to our liking. But no, monsieur, slice what you wish and consume as you prefer, he later says.... oh my dear.....

Yelp
Summary based on one dinner: --ok food, but not really exceptional --peremptory service --pricey for what you get --tends to seat Americans in the "foreigners' area," whether or not you speak no-kidding French

Yelp
This seems like that slightly upscale neighborhood bistro that you would visit on a rainy night with your significant other after a long, bad day at work. It may not be the best food in the world, but it's solid and the restaurant has a cozy atmosphere that makes you feel like you are among like-minded individuals who just want to enjoy each other's company in a comfortable environment. We went here after we checked into our hotel and realized we had to kill 4 hours before we could actually get a room to shower, take a nap, etc. Needless to say, we were delirious because neither one of us slept on the plane at all. The butter and bread were delicious. Little dish of salt that came with the butter? Amazing! Life changing! Will do that from now on with all of my dinner parties! The food portions were large but I didn't think they were particularly noteworthy. This may be the jet lag talking though. I remember I got a salad and the beef tartare. Both were fine but not amazing. Hubby got a squid pasta dish that he really enjoyed and steak which was fine. Our waitress was delightful and overall the service was very good. We went during lunch time and the restaurant was not packed so that could have helped.

Yelp
I went to Thoumieux not knowing that the management had changed. It was such a surprise to walk in at 8 p.m. on Sunday and see a largely empty room with very dim lighting! I had been there in early December and the place was full and boisterous. Then I learned from the waiter (who stayed on) that Thoumieux is no longer a family business. Now it is making some changes, definitely going more chic & upscale. Admittedly, Thoumieux was getting a litte worn around the edges but that was part of its charm! The confit de canard was simply plated, accompanied by roasted potato wedges in a paper cone placed in a glass. After trying to delicately eat them from the glass, they ended up dumped on the plate. The duck was delicious though there was no delirious wafting of garlic. One in our party had the sea bass and it was superb and accompanied by shoestring potatoes, also served separately in a cup. I'm sure I will go back and enjoy future meals but I'm a little sad to see the old Thoumieux gone!

Yelp
Thoumieaux Worse Than Terrible We arrived exactly on time for our 9:00 PM reservation and were led to our seat by a very efficient captain. That was the end of the service at Thoumieux! We were required to wait for nearly 15-minutes before a waiter brought a menu, and, only after we stopped him and asked for it. The wine list took another stop of the waiter and another 10-minutes. Our friends ordered a Champagne cocktail that arrived with their salad, water and wine. No explanation. Our «entrées» arrived in reasonable time and were quite good. We then sat with empty salad bowls in front of us for another 10-minutes. Meanwhile, a group of eleven young men arrived and were seated with great ceremony by the maître'd'hôtel ... also a young man. From that moment on, we never received even a glance. The table of eleven was, literally, pandered to by the maitre'd. He set an extra place, poured wines and waters, and took orders immediately. At our table, the waiter slammed down the bottle of wine after allowing me a taste and did not pour the mineral water that we ordered. The couple at the table on the other side of our table came about 30-minutes later. They were served their «entrées» and «plats» in reasonable time. We continued to wait. Finally, our «plats» arrived. My wife loved her biche; my scallops were so cold that I sent them back. My wife had finished her «plat» before the re-heated scalloped were re-served. I told the waiter to return them to the kitchen, and asked for the check. Throughout this, the maître'd'hôtel continued pandering to the table of his peers without as much as glance in our direction. We were served neither wine nor water. There was never an apology for the absolutely terrible service, not even a glance. The check required another10-minutes to arrive in spite of my clear unhappiness. This may be a new, hot Parisian restaurant if you are a peer of the servers, not just an ordinary married couple. In a word, forget Thoumieux.

Yelp
Excellent meal. The pizza starter is still amazing. Totally different than any other you have ever had! The foie GRAS was great! The lamb was perfectly cooked. The mashed potatoes are basically made up of one potato and lots of butter and cream! Very yummy!!! For desert get the tarte assortment.

Yelp
The meal I had here last night was amazing!! The service was impeccable and the wine was great! If you go here you must order the donuts for a dessert.. they are coated in sugar and pop rocks with 2 choices for dipping... chocolate and vanilla icecream!! Made me feel like a kid again..lol. I would most def come back here during my next visit to Paris!

Yelp
Worst service we have had in Paris . Waited 1 hour 20 minutes for main course. And watery soup was 18 Euros!

Yelp
I am giving Thoumieux five stars because it has the best cassoulet (a slow-cooked white bean stew with duck, pork and goose or lamb) in Paris! This is a nice Parisian neighborhood restaurant that is elegant and comfortable at the same time. The servers can be a little sarcastic, but that is part of their charm (or so I choose to believe!).

Yelp
Too much hoo-haa for this french neo classique restaurant. Average setting, loud old style lights;food good enough to forget the triste decoration of the main restaurant.

Yelp
A class act. Great location, great food, great value, great service. Found out this might be a two star place. Loved it and want to return soon.

Yelp
The food here was actually quite inedible. For starters, a sharing platter to taste the delights of what the "chef" had to offer, it made me grow cold and the taste grew more unpleasant as the meal went on. The starter was a platter--as if taken straight from a 3 day old fridge and served with so much chive and strange cold indistinguishable soup and mush. For mains we had steak and veal both SO average. Here's the thing, if you're going to make really simple food (steak and fries) and charge 43 euros for it, it has to be good. I am really disappointed as the restaurant is quite cute and the waiters were really diligent and sweet. I'm sorry but... save your money and go somewhere else.

Yelp
Altough Thoumieux is a bit pricey and service is sometimes a little arrogant, the food is great (especially the sole and the churros!). I like the elegant bistro athmosphere, in spite the noise.

Yelp
We were graciously greeted at our appointed reservation time and seated, but no one came to the table to ask about a drink order or even to check if we had been waited on for 25 minutes. We had to call someone over. They brought a spread for an amuse-bouche but no plates. We had to request plates and they brought us the wrong plates, very hot straight out of the dishwasher that melted the spread. When they came to clear for our entrée, asked us to keep our creamy knives for the next course....unheard of! I had the tomato salade which was lovely to look at, but the tomatoes were hard and tasteless. As Iive in Paris, I know this is the season and wonderful tomatoes are easily found and bountiful. My main course was the "aller-retour" tartare...completely unseasoned and watery. I have honestly never had such a bad tartare. It was like eating raw meat run through a cuisinart. I finished (actually left half my tartare) my plat (main course) before my partner; the waiter (first time we had seen him) rushed over to take my plate while he was still eating (also a very under-seasoned Basque chicken dish- normally very seasoned). Removing a plate while others at a table are still eating is very rude anywhere, but especially in France completely taboo. The expensive Lalande Pomerol was not good. I live in Paris and we eat out constantly. At NO time did anyone stop by the table to ask how our dinner was. This was by far the worst meal (and extremely expensive relative to the dishes which we have had many times at small, intimate restaurants all over Paris) we have had in Paris. They are obviously trading on the reputation of their 2 star restaurant (although I am loathe to try it now) and tourists who just want to say they have come to this brasserie. I would certainly never recommend it.

Julieanne H.

Yelp
Unwelcoming and rude, with a grim and snooty hostess (banishing Americans to the back ghetto, no matter how well dressed and French speaking), and incompetent table service (the wine brought and poured without asking before the aperitif arrived, orders taken sullenly, the courses plunked down before us). It really was amazing how it colored our mood and killed our enjoyment of the evening, but I could have forgiven some of it if the food had been great. The bread was lovely, and my husband's foie gras was excellent - but both these things are easy to buy in quality (I don't know if they are house made or not). My frisee salad, however, was weighed down by altogether too much liquid - it was set on a kind of bacon mousse, which when combined with the (nicely) poached egg and vinaigraitte, turned it into more of a soup than a salad. I'll add that the whole thing was rather gray looking as well, which was not especially appetizing. My husband's duck was fine, and my (45 euro) entrecote was okay but comically offset by the world's tiniest french fry cup. I think it had about 7 or 8 fries in it (stiff and overdone). Finally, the mille feuille - perhaps we've been spoiled by other places, but the pastry was much too dense and overbaked as well. The espresso? Bitter, but that does tend to be the norm in Paris. The room is pretty and clearly they are striving for a fashionable scene, although the room was at least half full of tourists being treated badly. A big disappointment.
