Three Blue Ducks, Rosebery

We visited today (Sunday) for a Sunday roast and were gobsmacked at just how amazing the quality of the meal was. We were a group of 10 and from the second we got into the restaurant we were greeted by friendly and helpful staff who made sure their quality of service matched their quality of food. For the roast. The yorkies were perfect. The meat (lamb) was divine - cooked perfectly with so much flavour. The veg - top draw with just that right amount of finesse. And most importantly the gravy was outstanding. Special mention to the cauliflower cheese and the pigs in blankets. The roast really was faultless and I’d say the best I’ve had in Sydney. Will definitely be back. Thanks for the memories. Up the mags.

We had an amazing experience at Three Blue Ducks. The food was absolutely incredible from start to finish. We ordered the oysters to start and they were so fresh and tangy, with no unpleasant aftertaste at all — just clean, beautiful flavor. The beef roast was cooked perfectly, tender and full of flavor. The pastry bread that came with it was so unique — light, fluffy, and different in the best way. They were also incredibly generous with the gravy, which was rich and delicious. We also had the gnocchi, and it was just as impressive. The gnocchi itself was fresh and soft, and the sauce paired beautifully — light, well-balanced, and full of flavor without being too heavy. The only small downside was that it felt a bit hot while we were seated, and there were moments when water dripped on us. However, despite that, the overall experience was fantastic. The quality of the food more than made up for it, and we’ll definitely be back!

They changed chef and menu. Food was unfortunately not quite to our taste, didn’t meet our expectations based on our previous experience. Service is better than food. Overall, it’s an average dining experience, reasonable price and worth what you pay for.

Wedding review Amanda and the three blue ducks team were amazing and took all the stress out of organsing a wedding. Every contact we had with them from the first email exchange to the final run through was so easy and smooth. Amanda was the perfect combination of calm and competent and it was very apparent she had a lot of experience and knew what she was doing. The team on the day were all so lovely and welcoming. The food was 10/10 and the guests loved it. The venue itself was beautiful - we were able to add our own touches and 3BD provided the rest.

Three Blue Ducks has a nice rustic, warehouse-style design with high ceilings and a spacious vibe. We ordered the ribeye bone-in steak and a salad based on a friend’s previous good experience here. Unfortunately, this visit was disappointing. The steak was extremely oily (likely from the ribeye fat) and topped with a large scoop of butter, making it too heavy and unpleasant to finish. To make matters worse, we later found a dead fly in my friend’s wine glass. The waitress only offered a refund for the wine, which felt insufficient given the overall experience. Sadly, this visit did not meet our expectations.

Overall, the food didn’t quite suit my taste, flavors felt a bit one-dimensional. It all looked very healthy on the surface, but somehow still came across as a bit oily. Maybe I just didn’t order the right dishes. When we were choosing, we didn’t go for a main and no one really reminded us, so the portions felt a little light. Luckily, we ended up adding the roasted lamb shoulder later on, which was hearty and filling. That saved the meal for us! On the bright side, the atmosphere was lovely and the service was genuinely great, which made the experience much more enjoyable.

We came to Three Blue Ducks in Rosebery to celebrate our anniversary and unfortunately left feeling really disappointed. After reading some of the negative reviews about service beforehand, I can honestly say they seem quite fitting based on our experience. When we first arrived, the waitress who greeted us was lovely and welcoming, which gave us a great first impression and had us looking forward to the evening. However, things quickly went downhill once our meals arrived. Before eating, I specifically double-checked what ingredients were in one of the dishes due to a dietary restriction and was assured it was not in there. After starting the meal, I immediately tasted something that I cannot have. I called a staff member over for assistance who got what I believe to be some sort of manager? the response we received was surprisingly rude, which completely ruined what was supposed to be a special anniversary celebration. After another staff member eventually checked with the kitchen, it turned out that the ingredient was actually in the meal and had not been declared, despite my earlier confirmation. Considering the circumstances, the attitude we were met with instead of concern or an apology was extremely disappointing. It’s a shame because the venue itself is nice and our first interaction with the welcoming waitress was great. Unfortunately, the handling of this situation and the poor service afterward well overshadowed the entire experience and left us feeling quite let down on what should have been a memorable night. If you can’t treat the people contributing to your wage in a reasonable manner(hospitality), how are the staff you’re training and setting an example for then going to treat people?

A great experience and really tasty food. Staff were super helpful. We had the Sunday roast and the blue eye cod fish special - both were delicious and generous. I had the wildflower spritz but it was unpleasant - way too strong and completely over the top sweet. Also, it was just a little bit too expensive for what we got.

It was time to eat dinner and we were in the area; so we decided to drop in and give this place a try. Service was friendly and helpful and the area is very cutely decorated. It was very rustic and clean. We started off the meal with the SWEET POTATO HUMMUS, which consists of charred onions, black sesame, and focaccia. This dish was okay. It wasn't the traditional hummus, but it was sweet and savory. The focaccia bread soaked up the strong char onions, the sweet starchy potato, and the textures of the sesame. WOOD ROASTED WHOLE JOHN DORY- smoked caper butter, and peas and green salad At first, I didn't know what to expect from this dish, but towards the end, I grew to love it. The fish was a bit salty, but I loved the fresh flavors. The caper butter went really well with the fish and the earthy green salad complemented the savoriness of the flavors. CRISPY ROAST POTATOES- rosemary and garlic These potatoes had a nice crisp bite on the skin, but it was soft and starchy inside. I really liked the aromatic rosemary flavor and the garlic. Overall, everything was okay, but flavors were nothing out of this world. I did try the dish my sister ordered and I didn't like it at all. It was curry cauliflower and the flavors in the dish didn't meld well together. Service was really slow for only having 2 tables. We waited about 30-40 mins for our food. I give a total of 2.5 stars.

The Three Blue Ducks concept began in Bronte and they've since expanded with stores now in Byron Bay, Rosebery and Brisbane. They also host weddings and functions and you often see them at other events off site. With a big team of staff, you will note one of them is an ex-Masterchef contestant. Stores vary in look and menu, however their approach is the same. We went to the Rosebery store which could be described as an open kitchen, large dining space and rustic decor. The store also sells some homely products like chopping boards, keep Cups and cookbooks. The restaurant group likes to use ethically sourced and organic produce and generally from local suppliers, ensuring the menu has fresh food, and as such the menu continues to evolve. We were pleasantly greeted, taken to our table and perused the menu. Entrees, larger plates as well as the weekly sandwich special (this day was a smoked lamb) and even a bottomless brunch are on the menu. We were visiting mid week so unfortunately a bottomless brunch wasn't on the cards for us, perhaps another time. We ordered the oysters, which were beautiful. served with a shallot and red wine mignonette, the flavour was very refreshing. The lamb kofta was incredibly tasty, served on a spread of SmokeyRomesco , parsley and accompanied with a flatbread. This was a very good dish, but probably a little pricy at $19 for the size. The other dining partners chose the poke bowl, with the addition of kingfish. A good serving, quite fishy with all the seafood and kingfish too, topped with a poached egg. Again, a lovely meal, but well above your typical price range for a poke bowl ($27). We also had the wood roasted kingfish. Perfectly cooked, with a crispy skin and served with charred broccoli and a macadamia cream, pickled chilli and anchovy vinaigrette ($35). Flavours worked really well and the wood roasting enabled the natural fish flavour to be retained. Other menu options include BBQ prawns, porchetta, sticky chicken, pumpkin salad and a buttermilk chicken burger (to name a few). The bar has a range of boutique beers and ciders, cocktails and a wine list, as well as tea and coffee. It is a lovely place to dine, staff are warm and welcoming and service was prompt. The food was extremely delicious, but it's probably a little overpriced. We would recommend this for a special lunch. There's a brunch menu too which we'd be keen to try at some point

The third 'Three Blue Ducks Cafe' is found in the Sydney suburb of Rosebery. The inside space is huge. The kitchen is on show offering an insight into the magic of the cooking. The staff are trendy but each boast a smile which is the best style accessory. The sun drenched garden courtyard was our table of choice when asked if we would like to sit outside or in. The service was great and the coffee and food was delivered swiftly to our table. We loved pondering over the seasonal dishes and discovering the Bircher muesli was as fresh & delicious as the menu suggested. Our friend went for the avocado and soft egg on toast. If you like your eggs soft. Real soft, and runny then the chef will do them perfectly. On weekends Three Blue Ducks are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. So plenty of time to visit and discover the great food at Three Blue Ducks Cafe.

Stick to the bronte cafe way better location and atmosphere, coffee came out warm not hot, I like my coffee hot that's what you pay for. I order a cold press juice which didn't come out to after our breakfast and it was just out of a bottle anyway nothing special. My breakfast that I got said poached eggs but came out boiled, so false advertising. Very very slow on the services too. Took ages to get our meal.

Interesting layout,interesting food. My lamb curry was interesting because there was like 20% in my dish and 80% of this and that. The other stuff was ok but if I orders lamb curry that's what the majority of the food I want. Caramelised onions was prominent which I don't mind. Prices were more than I expected for what I got and service was friendly. Might come back to try something else

It's okay. I've been a few times for both brunches and dinner. Dinner was really good, middle eastern inspired at this location. Brunch is overpriced...special pork roll tasted like 3 day old pulled pork...slimey...not enough flavour at all. Staff is hit and miss.
