10 Best Coffee Shops in Melbourne | Condé Nast Traveler

"Gold Drops appears to be a standard Italian-style espresso bar downtown, but it's actually Melbourne's sole purveyor of "natural" coffee. The key difference with natural coffee is its enhanced fruitiness, which alters the profile of milk-based espresso drinks considerably. The cafe also offers batch-brewed filter—the staff will help you decide which option is likely to suit you best. Owner Ari Abad is an evangelist for natural coffee and will always find time to chat. It's innovative places like this that make the city truly exciting for coffee devotees." - Dan F. Stapleton

THE BEST SANDWICH I'VE EVER HAD!!~~ I've missed Korean fluffy egg sandwiches so much since coming back from my exchange in Seoul. I brought my friend here to try Korean sandwich for our late lunch and this place did not disappoint!! Tasted better than I remember!!... but I might have been influenced by the service and friendliness of the staff :)) Unfortunately I'm not a Melbourne local but I will be sure to visit again next time I'm in the city!! Thank you so much to Three Drops Staff ^o^ 잘 먹었습니다~~

Using Google Maps In search of breakfast, I found this little place with high ratings tucked away in an arcade. It was definitely worth exploring. The much loved fluffy egg Bulgogi sandwich is popular for good reason. The first mouthful was just heaven for the palette. The scrambled egg was delightful and the sauce was rich and bold. All the sauce was in the first half of the sandwich, so the second half was less distinctive. I'm not sure if this was by design to create a really memorable experience leveraging the concept of scarcity - short, intense availability of something great, contrasting with its absence. Maybe I read too much into this and should just redistribute the sauce! 😆😆 Everything was prepared with great care by two lovely people. The Korean inspired flavours brightened this otherwise unremarkable arcade. Enter and reward your taste buds.

The bulgogi, fluffy egg, and ham sandwich was absolutely delicious! The bread was soft and fresh, making every bite so satisfying. The combination of flavors with the sauce was spot on – rich, savory, and tempting enough to keep me going back for more, yet not too heavy or gelat. It’s the kind of sandwich you could eat anytime of the day and still crave again. Highly recommend!

🌟☕ One Word: Wonderful 🥰 I only need one word to describe this café-restaurant: marvellous. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed and guided clearly through the menu, which I really appreciated. The space is cosy, the atmosphere feels truly family-friendly, and the service was something special. A big thank you to the gentleman and the lady who served with such genuine smiles — it’s rare to see that kind of kindness these days. As a proud Colombian, a coffee lover, and someone who values good service, I can say this place is absolutely excellent. Looking forward to coming back soon with my girlfriend to enjoy a lovely brunch together. Thank you!

Was initially skeptical about the 4.9 rating—it seemed almost too good to be true. The café isn't located along the main streets, but it’s absolutely worth the effort to find. It appears to be run by a lovely Korean family, and their warmth and hospitality made our last day in Melbourne truly special. Everyone greeted us so kindly, creating such a welcoming atmosphere. We had the Bulgogi sandwich, hot chocolate and a latte. Took it with us to the airport. Even after it had gone cold, the flavor and quality still stood out—it’s hard to imagine anyone not enjoying it. Honestly, 4.9 feels underrated; I’d give it a full 5.0. Please support this gem—you won’t regret it. I’ll definitely be back on my next visit to Melbourne. Keep up the amazing work. Much love to the team and everything you do!

Great little find in Melbourne; epic toasted sandwiches and Korean style jaffles. I had the bacon and fluffy egg on brioche toasted bread, it was absolutely delicious! Likely the best I have ever had! Not the easiest place to find, tucked away down the back of the capitol arcade, super glad I managed to find it though!

I walked past this sandwich shop by pure chance one day and decided to give the Korean sandwich with fluffy egg a try, I had never had anything like it before, and I was instantly hooked. It was absolutely delicious. I came back the following week to try a different one, and it was just as good ! The food is seriously tasty, and the people running the shop are incredibly kind and lovely. Highly recommended !

Three Drops Coffee and Sandwich place is located at the Capitol mall (straight ahead from the main entrance). It is run by Korean and offers korean style sandwiches and jaffles sandwiches. The jaffle sandwiches were made and served warm! So gooddd. Ordered mocha and it is great too! Nice and friendly staff. Loving the turquoise deco and cool place. Though they do cook in the cosy cafe, the place can be ventilated via a back door. Quite a great place:)
