10 Best Coffee Shops in Melbourne | Condé Nast Traveler
"Gold Drops appears to be a standard Italian-style espresso bar downtown, but it's actually Melbourne's sole purveyor of "natural" coffee. The key difference with natural coffee is its enhanced fruitiness, which alters the profile of milk-based espresso drinks considerably. The cafe also offers batch-brewed filter—the staff will help you decide which option is likely to suit you best. Owner Ari Abad is an evangelist for natural coffee and will always find time to chat. It's innovative places like this that make the city truly exciting for coffee devotees." - Dan F. Stapleton
I usually don’t rate on Google as often, but I have to say that here is where you get the best k sandwiches in Melbourne! I’ve been to this place in 2023 and 2024, their k sandwiches taste so good as always. Last week, I ordered the ham (my usual order) but chef offered me the bulgogi, it’s so delicious and I’m definitely coming back for bulgogi (while ham is still my fav haha). Thank you for the great experience!

☕ Hidden Gem with a Korean Twist
Tucked away in the arcade, this family‑run coffee and sandwich shop is a delightful surprise. The coffee is solid and easily on par with other local favourites, but the real star is the Korean fusion toasted sandwich. The kimchi, beef, and cheese combination is bold, comforting, and absolutely perfect on a cold grey day. Friendly service and a cosy atmosphere make this a spot worth seeking out.

Best K-sandwich in the city! 😍
I had the classic bacon flavor — the softness of the fluffy eggs goes perfectly with everything! 🥓🍳
Not to mention the friendly and welcoming vibe as soon as you step into the store.
If you want to start your morning with happy faces and good energy, this place is highly recommended!

Best K sandwich I've had and I've been to Korea! The portion was very generous and went all the way through the bread. I had one in Sydney from a different Cafe that was only half filled. Was also very short wait time and this was during lunch. Staff was friendly and eagerly explained menu and provided table service. Would definitely return to try the other sandwiches and to try the coffee!

Great sandwiches. We had the Bulgogi which was recommended by the very friendly waitress. It was super tasty. Very fluffy, juicy and crisp at the same time. Flat White was great too.

The bulgogi, fluffy egg, and ham sandwich was absolutely delicious! The bread was soft and fresh, making every bite so satisfying. The combination of flavors with the sauce was spot on – rich, savory, and tempting enough to keep me going back for more, yet not too heavy or gelat. It’s the kind of sandwich you could eat anytime of the day and still crave again. Highly recommend!

I tried the bulgogi sandwich and a flat white and while you can’t really go wrong with coffee in Melbourne, the real highlight was definitely the Korean sandwich. The eggs were perfectly cooked, with delicious beef mince and ham, and the sauce tied everything together beautifully. I’ll definitely be coming back next time I’m in Melbourne!
