MUST DO on any wine country visit! This is an incredible roadside tasting extravaganza….awesome facts, great wines, fantastic floral scenery, and most importantly incredible hostess in Ella! She was friendly, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic about the wines and our tastes! Roll in all of the NFL tie ins (more for the guys) and facts about the owners and their roles makes it all worthwhile! Ella you scored a Touchdown and nailed the 2 point conversion! The Lombardi Trophy of tastings! Bradley and Rose Titus and Melinda Norcross

Three Fat Guys is a Tiny place with PHENOMENAL WINES & EMPLOYEES WITH A HUGE HEART!!! As members from SoCal; we brought my wife’s brother and his wife for tastings! ELLSPETH aka ELLA was ON POINT and MADE YS FEEL LIKE WINE LOVING FAMILY! She Delivered the Goods with Every Wine 🍷 and we followed up with a glass afterward 🙏🏽💯. We would have made it an entire day there if we had the time, but left with several bottles of our favorite vintages 🍷🍷🍷 Oh, and we also scored some great merchandise 😊👍🏽 Side note: Every year at Christmas we stack up a TOTALLY BLIND TASTE TEST of the Best 5 Cabernet Sauvignons from Sonoma, Napa, Alexander Valley Temecula, and Paso Robles…And EVERY YEAR Three Fat Guys Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon WINS!!! Again; Thank You for an Amazing day of Wine & Friendship❤️🙏🏽💯🍷

Google
Truly an amazing place to visit. We weren’t in Sonoma long, but we wanted to find a place to grab some wine and enjoy this amazing weather. I definitely do not regret our choice to swing by Three Fat Guys. The outdoor area was so cute and our dogs loved being able to join us for the experience. We did a wine tasting and ended up buying four bottles to take with us. I cannot wait to enjoy some of them on the boat and some of them back home in Colorado. From the staff to the wine to the atmosphere, the entire experience was awesome. This place is a must visit when in Sonoma!

Google
If I could give more than 5 stars I would. We went in not expecting too much but were we so very pleasantly surprised. Our wine specialist, Ella, was awesome and made the experience so much fun. Very laid back atmosphere and the wines are amazing. We are now part of their club and are looking so forward to our first shipment. You must visit this tasting room. My wife got to sign the ceiling since we joined the club and she is a teacher.

Google
I absolutely love Three Fat Guys! I’ve been frequenting them for years. Tony and his entire team are wonderful, the wines are amazing, the atmosphere is fun, and inviting. Not to mention, if you’re a Packer’s fan, you have to add it to your list of places to visit while in Sonoma!

Google
3 Fat Guys Winery has such a great vibe! The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and relaxed—perfect for enjoying a glass (or two!) with friends. The staff is friendly, the wine is excellent, and the whole experience feels fun and easygoing. A must-visit spot if you’re in wine country!

Google
While visiting from Atlanta, found Three Fat Guys Winery and love it! The atmosphere is relaxed and very welcoming! There are kids, dogs, a cat, and many, many friendly people enjoying the sunny day, and of course, skillfully fermented grapes (legal adults only). The guys with Costa’s Food Truck provided wonderful food. The portions are huge! The experience inspired this beer lover to become a member.

Google
The home of Three Fat Guys nearby. Barrels breathe like old-time friends, Stories spill as daylight ends. Each glass poured bright with harvest pride, A bold red glow, a golden stride. Here, joy is simple, rustic, true— A porch, a pour, a perfect view. Good wine, good hearts, good company, A trio’s dream for all to see. So raise a toast and linger long, Where vines grow thick and life feels strong. For in Sonoma’s gentle light, Three Fat Guys make spirits bright.

Yelp
Our visit to Three Fat Guys Winery through Pushpak electric tricycle tours was absolutely lovely. The gal who guided our tasting was incredibly knowledgeable--not just about the wines themselves, but also about the vineyards, the microclimates, and the unique aspects of Sonoma that influence each vintage. It was fascinating to learn how the land and climate shape the flavors in the glass. The experience felt intimate and personal. Tasting with someone who truly knew the wines--and clearly cared about their quality--made it feel special. We enjoyed charcuterie and snacks thoughtfully paired with the pours; the açai berry chocolates with a Pinot, in particular, brought out layers of flavor I'd never noticed before. While the tasting itself is paid, there's a great perk: if you purchase a higher-end bottle, you receive two tastings free. As if that weren't enough, we had the lucky surprise of running into Tony Moll, one of the owners--like casually meeting a super chill celebrity neighbor. Don't miss this warm, welcoming gem of Sonoma wine country.

Yelp
We stopped by on our way home from wine tasting downtown and enjoyed a bottle outside in their patio. The staff working were very friendly and kind. It's a smaller but cute winery- definitely worth checking out.

Yelp
Came for a drink, stayed for the vibes! Do yourself a favor and make this a stop on your list when you go to Sonoma.

Yelp
A small venue with a beautiful patio. Such an amazing tasting experience! Ella was incredible - personable and informative! This was the best Cabernet Sauvignon we've had in Napa!

Yelp
Oh what a great time we always have at Three Fat Guys which is located down the road from Sonoma Square, just far enough that you don't get the busy traffic. They have the best wines at a great price point. There's so much to say: love the outdoor setting with high top tables, regular tables, and plenty of couches for lounging. There's a nice small garden to meander through with cornhole and a large connect 4 for those that come with kids. YES, kid friendly, pet friendly as we've come on a couple of occasions with both our dog and cat. They allow outside food, with a small store right next door to pick up food to have with your wine. I primarily stick to whites so my top favorites are their Sauvignon Blanc (2022 & 2023 are fabulous) & Chardonnay. Finally, being Three Fat Guys, we love coming during football season as they have a large TV on the back patio where we can enjoy the games and a good rivalry conversation; Go Niners!!!

Yelp
Three Fat Guys, how about three great wines? Located along Broadway, otherwise known as the main artery that leads visitors to the venerable Sonoma Plaza, Three Fat Guys Wines comes from the minds of three retired NFL offensive linemen by the names of Tony Moll, Daryn Colledge, and Jason Spitz. They met almost twenty years ago when they were all drafted by the Green Bay Packers. Their first vintage for their winery arrived a mere year later in 2007 as these three entrepreneurs were smart enough to start thinking about their future careers once their playing days stopped. It was Sonoma native Tony Moll who was able to turn his connections and contract with existing vineyards for their grapes and assemble a team of locals to help with production. Now with a small, yet surprisingly expansive tasting room that opened six years ago next to the Sonoma Roadside Shops, and across the street from vineyards that grow their estate Chardonnay, Three Fat Guys is place to be on game day and any other day, as they are pouring some really nice wines in the heart of Sonoma's wine country. What brought a friend and I here on an early weekend afternoon was the fact that Three Fat Guys Wines was participating in Sonoma Sips, which was a month-long promotion of participating wineries in the Sonoma area, which offered three pours of their signature wines for only fifteen dollars. This way visitors get a chance to enjoy a few pours of wine at a reasonable price served at a winery in which they may never have visited in the first place. Upon entry in their tasting room, visitors can sit inside their small tasting room or outside on their covered, at least during the colder season, patio where there are outdoor sofas with cushions and pillows and hightop and regular tables for visitors to sit on. Plenty of outdoor games are ready for visitors including children and pets to enjoy. Our first pour was their chilled 2023 Sonoma Valley Rosé of Pinot Noir. Called their poolside wine and sourced from vines grown not too far away from where their tasting room resides. We learned that their grapes for this wine are pulled earlier than they would be usually harvested, which gives this Rosé a stronger acidity and therefore a crisper finish. For our second wine, we both enjoyed perhaps our favorite wine out of the three we sampled, as their 2021 Sonoma Coast Chardonnay. Grown directly across from here on Broadway in what used to be a pear orchard, now called Palmer Vineyard, this is a great year round Chardonnay, as it is not your typical buttery or oaky Chardonnay that we are all used to. Thanks to bright notes of citrus and green apples they smartly call this bright white wine a "coastal gem". For our third and final pour of our special tasting, we enjoyed their 2021 Sonoma Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, which was the sole wine we enjoyed that was not on their traditional tasting experience menu. We were told that they suggest that wine lovers buy this Cabernet now, and hold onto it as it ages better with time. With strong leathery notes, it was the perfect way to end our brief tasting as we headed inside and they were nice enough to pour us a fourth wine as my friend saw they sold a sparkling wine. Their Champion Sparkling Brut Rosé was a lively pour of bubbles and bursting with a combination of flavors of bright wild strawberries and tart cranberries with every sip. Three Fat Guys Wines is almost like a community watering hole or tavern, as locals and out-of-towners come in and sip and watch their favorite sporting events on their big screen flat panel television. Members of the community come first, as first responders, members of the military, and teachers all get a discount when visiting, as Three Fat Guys Winery strives to have something for everyone, especially really nicely crafted wines that they can be proud to call their own.

Yelp
This boutique winery south of Four Corners on Broadway in Sonoma provides a jovial experience with excellent wines. One of the owners, Tony, is often on site to add to your experience. Ask him about his days in the NFL and growing up in Sonoma. Highly recommend this place!

Yelp
This is always a friendly place. Casual, not stuffy, & just a fun place to be. The staff is knowledgeable and engaging. Best of all.... The wine is great!
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped in on a whim on our way to Sonoma as we read the interesting story about 3 linebackers starting a winery. You can bring your own food or purchase from nearby store. Friendly server. Not much parking so perhaps call ahead. Seating is mostly outside.

Yelp
Nice casual tasting room with a big outdoor patio surrounded by lots of trees. We tasted on the patio under the tent and enjoyed the quaint vibes outside. Came here on a Friday with a group of 4, we made reservations and ended up being the only ones there for most of our time in. This place was founded by three former football players, so it's definitely a different vibe than a lot of wineries in the area. It's casual and laid back, but still provides a nice tasting experience. We were led through our tasting by three different people, I felt like as each person came out we got less and less information on the wine. I had wished it was the first person who helped us doing the whole tasting, but we still received good service from everyone. Wine prices were super reasonable and everyone in the group ended up going home with a bottle. These weren't my favorite wines we had in our day of tasting, but I still liked them enough and took a bottle of chardonnay home with me.

Yelp

Yelp
Had a great experience! First time wine tasting and service was amazing and they were all friendly. Loved my experience overall and do recommend to anyone in the area!!

Yelp
This is a super fun wine tasting place. Owned by three former Green Bay Packers O-line players (hence the name), it has a chill, party vibe. Gorgeous and spacious backyard and patio. Our host was Named Ah-née (sorry, don't know how it's spelled) and she was super friendly and knowledgeable about the wines. They have some great Pinot noirs, and my wife and I loved the rose, and the blush sparking wine. It's definitely worth a visit, and you can't miss it, it's right on the highway. Cheers!

Yelp
Absolutely love these guys. We stumbled upon Three Fat Guys about 5 years ago as we were driving by. Loved the wine and have been coming back every time we're in town. One of the few tastings I've been to where every wine was a winner. If you've never been, stop in. If you've been, you are probably already a repeat visitor. Big shout out to Jim for sacrificing his Father's Day to host tastings.

Jill P.

Yelp
We love Three Fat Guys! Great people, great wine, super fun and casual atmosphere. It is always a great time when we come here (which is often).

Yelp
Love the wines, the staff and the ambiance of the venue. Great place to relax with friends or on your own and meet new friends. Tony, home grown boy, previous Grean Bay Packer, is awesome and comes around to talk and laugh with everyone like your old friends. Love visiting and hanging out here!

Yelp
Best wine and atmosphere in Sonoma. I love coming here and feeling like I am at home. Ane is amazing!!!

Yelp
Nice simple, casual tasting room. Neat background story- started by 3 football players and Tony still actively runs the tasting room and was hanging out when we were there. The tasting room itself is pretty small, and they also have a backyard patio that is also on the small side, but is pleasant, leafy, with umbrella shading. I enjoyed the whole flight that we had- the server was friendly, but the intro to each wine was very brief.

Michelle A.

Yelp
Becky and Anni are 12/10 amazing beautiful people inside and out and this place is the best you won't regret stopping by! I've been coming here for tastings for years, and the wine is always well balanced and they have something for all tastes and preferences.

Josh B.

Yelp
Love the ambiance - super family and friends friendly! The whole staff is super wholesome and make sure you are having a great time. Lots of space at the back for big or small intimate group setting and big plus is you can bring your own outside food for the wine tasting!
google avatar

Megan B.

Yelp
Three Fat Guys is your winery home away from home! The staff is amazing and always makes you feel so welcome, the ambiance is cozy and makes you feel like you are in your backyard drinking wine with your friends/family, you can bring in your own food/ snacks and the wine is 11/10. I have never been a winery where I have loved every single wine they had to offer. Definitely a must stop when you're in Sonoma!
google avatar

Brittany R.

Yelp
Service was friendly and knowledgeable. We came with our kids, one of which being autistic, and they were very accommodating of our situation.

L B.

Yelp
A bit pretentious and not friendly hostess. Not knowledgable about their wines, much better tasting rooms around Sonoma.
google avatar

Susen M.

Yelp
Always have a great time at Three fat guys. The wine is fantastic and if you are looking for a place that feels like family, this is the tasting room for you. Xo

Aliyah H.

Yelp
What a cool idea! 3 football players get together to open a winery. And it has a garden. Love it! Good wine choices with pleasant outdoor seating options. A great stop!

Yelp
Best people, best wine, best tasting room. Can't miss when in Sonoma! Service is amazing!

Yelp
We enjoyed a tasting at Three Fat Guys in which we can't say enough about the casual approach and delicious wines. Two standouts were their Chardonnay & Pinot Noir (truly top notch!). The fun causal experience and staff are exactly what you need!

Yelp
This place is amazing. Sophie was phenomenal. Highly recommend. Definitely come here.

Yelp
Was recommended by a friend. Very comfortable and unpretentious atmosphere. By far one of the friendliest staff around. Their signature Rutherford cabernet was outstanding. We will definitely be back.

Kemplen R.

Yelp
There aren't enough great things we can say about TFG! This is absolutely the best place you can go in Sonoma Valley for some awesome wine tasting. Not only is TFG a relaxed, fun tasting, the staff are incredibly inviting and welcoming. And the wine is very tasty! You will not be disappointed visiting this place!
google avatar

Emma S.

Yelp
Our favorite Friday hang. Excellent wine, lovely employees- we're stoked to have this gem in our backyard. Make sure to ask for Sophie and a taste of their new Linemen white!

Corrie Z.

Yelp
Kim was amazing ! She gave so much information about each wine. The Cab Sav was amazing!

Renee M.

Yelp
We had an absolutely wonderful time visiting Three Fat Guys Winery. Such a knowledgeable staff, delicious wine, and beautiful patio. Make sure that you try their Lineman White. Yummy!
google avatar

Andrew L.

Yelp
Might be my favorite tasting room in Sonoma. Wines are great and the staff is better. Drink great wines and watch football. Does it get better than that?
google avatar

Matthew G.

Yelp
Second time here, and a really enjoyable experience... Tony and his workers were amiable and the atmosphere was great for enjoying the wines, which are much more delicate and finely-crafted than the name might imply. The pinot noir and cabernet are pretty fantastic, though the pricetags a little too prohibitive to buy any (we have, however, bought their "Linemen" red blend, which is a more approachable price but unfortunately currently sold out.) The chardonnay is also quite good, with a sort of medium-bodied lemon curd (with hints of butterscotch) flavor. Oh, and the dog-friendly setting was also a bonus for bringing my brother's well-behaved fur-baby along.

tammy c.

Yelp
Three Fat Guys is a breath of fresh air! Yes there are tons of wineries nearby and many are very good but this tasting room is just so chill, the wines are quite good and it's just so nice to taste in a non pretentious space with quite possibly the best down to earth staff .... !!!!
google avatar

Corey S.

Yelp
Finally got to stop here and it was well worth the wait. We seem to drive by on days they are closed or don't have reservations. The gardens here are worth stopping for alone. Did the tasting of a Rosè, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Cab. All of them delicious. Definitely worth the stop arriving or leaving the square
google avatar

Stu E.

Yelp
We stopped at this Sonoma winery as part of a great electric trike tour through the city. We were not disappointed. Great hospitality and excellent wine makes for a top notch experience. Three Fat Guys is named for three former offensive linemen who played for the Green Bay Packers (including Jason Spitz from our hometown Louisville - GO CARDS!). Apparently legendary Packer QB Brett Farve called them fat guys and they didn't take offense. Thus a brand name was born. Sophie was our wine hostess on a spectacular day and we sat out back in the shade, overlooking a fabulous garden brimming with all kinds of flowers. She was fantastic telling us about the wines, the vineyards where they came from, and what to expect as we sipped. We found out Sophie is engaged so if you go, be sure to tell her congrats since the big day is coming up in 2024! Great experience, and the wine is pretty darn great, too. Particularly that Cab, and we really like Pinots - the Three Fat Guys version was really tasty.

B B.

Yelp
Awesome experience! Sophie is the best! Look forward to coming back. Best place in town

Kerry C.

Yelp
Sophie was amazing! Had a great day enjoying the atmosphere at Three Fat Guys! Highly recommend!

Yelp
One of my all time favorite wines. I came here in 2019 and loved there wines that we became a member and it's still a fabulous one! The winery itself is small but intimate and a great experience. I recommend sitting outside to enjoy the nature (hummingbirds, plants, trees, monarch's). The staff is extremely nice and very knowledgeable.
