On Three Mile Beach in Cornwall, a Low-Key Babymoon | Condé Nast Traveler

"My first thought upon seeing the setup was, “This is my ideal babymoon.” Luxury beach houses form a colorful, village-like setup with fully equipped kitchens plus hotel-style amenities—a restaurant, coffee shop, pizza nights, access to surfboards, and, my favorite, a spa—and it’s a short walk from a winding coastal path. With children running around, the laid-back luxury feels perfect for family holiday-goers; for us, it was comforting to see families enjoying themselves, a reminder that we can maintain our sense of adventure as we take this next step." - Amber Port

Three Mile Beach, Gwithian, Cornwall, UK - Explore & Book

"This bold and innovative beach hideaway, which spent four years in the making before opening to great acclaim in summer 2021, started out with a question: what is the best place in Britain for kitesurfing? Asking the question was Craig Burkinshaw, intrepid explorer, watersports fan, and founder of Audley Travel. And the answer – clearly – was here, on Gwithian’s 3 mile-long, west-facing beach in St Ives Bay. It's true. The waves roll in with a deliciously dependable surf, the west wind blows with beautiful predictability, the shore is endlessly sandy, with bobbing seals and secluded cliff-backed coves to shelter in. So, with his partner Jo, who has a handy eye for interior design, they bought a field above the bungalows of Gwithian's Towans ('sand dunes' in Cornish) and set about building 19 of the most cosseting, uplifting and stylish beach houses you can imagine. Think Bondi surf chic, with colourful touches from Mexico and Morocco, plus every conceivable creature comfort – from wine fridges to private sauna and hot tub on your sail-shaded deck. Naturally, surf lessons, boards and wetsuits are on hand, along with private chefs, boat trips and pretty much anything else you desire. With two, three or four bedrooms each, these houses are the ideal spot for some laid-back beachside luxury with your family (including four-legged friends), or for a very special get-together with mates. Highs The houses are supremely well equipped and easy on the eye: a lovely spot to hole up and chill out, any time of year An on-site food truck offers world cuisine from tacos to Thai; private chefs and DIY pizza ovens are available too That beach: huge and sandy, with rock pools, surf schools and life guards – and 3 miles long is no exaggeration Even if you’re not into surfing, there’s tons to do: coastal walks, St Ives’ boutiques, trips to St Michael’s Mount, Mousehole or Land’s End It’s open all year, with flexible arrival days and discounted off-season rates (great for a cosy winter escape) Lows The houses are quite close together, and only half of them have sea glimpses It's on an exposed hillside which catches the prevailing west wind There’s no pool or spa on site: this place is about getting back in touch with nature, wilderness – and each other Minimum stay of 1 week in summer holidays School holidays get booked up quickly: plan ahead – and go for it!" - Michael Cullen

Stunning! What an amazing find! We stayed at 3 mile beach with our furry family last month in the wild winds and sideways rain, but it didn’t dampen our enjoyment! We had a beautiful 3 bed house where everything - and I mean EVERYTHING - was top quality. We had a stunningly landscaped outside space which was generously sized and doggy safe. Not overlooked with a stunning steaming hot tub set ant 40*c along with a cool sauna, gas bbq and top notch outdoor furniture. Indoors had beautifully comfortable beds with high quality linen and towel. Spacious and spotlessly clean facilities and a full equipped kitchen. When it came to service and booking experience NOTHING was too much trouble. I’ve been to a fair few of this type of set up but this was streets ahead. We loved it so much we didn’t want to come home. I’ve just booked for January but for longer this time ;-). Thanks guys.

Perfect coastal escape, even in a Storm! We stayed at Three Mile Beach during some truly wild weather, high winds, rain, and a storm, but honestly, it didn’t matter one bit. The moment we stepped inside, it felt like the perfect coastal escape. The hot tub and sauna were absolute lifesavers after braving the elements. The interior is beautifully designed and everything feels spotless and high-quality. What really stood out was the kitchen. It’s not just “well equipped” – it’s fully kitted out with everything you could possibly need to cook up a feast. From sharp knives and proper cookware to all the little details that make cooking easy and enjoyable, I’m a chef and my kitchen isn’t as well equipped as theirs! We also tried the pizza party, which was such a fun and unique touch. Fresh dough, toppings, and everything you need dropped off right at your door, it was restaurant-quality but in your own private space. My children loved stretching the dough and topping the pizzas with their favourite ingredients From the moment we booked, the team were friendly and helpful. Nothing was to much trouble and we were always greeted with a smile. We can’t wait to return!

We had the most wonderful family stay to celebrate a 60th birthday, and it couldn’t have been more perfect! The accommodation was absolutely amazing — spotless, beautifully decorated, and incredibly well equipped. The hosts had truly thought of everything, from comfy beds and soft towels to thoughtful extras like dog beds, towels, and treats for our four-legged friends.||There was something for everyone to enjoy — fantastic indoor and outdoor games equipment that could be taken to the beach, gorgeous beach and dune walks just a short stroll away, and brilliant facilities including a BBQ, sauna, and hot tub. It was the ideal place to relax, have fun, and spend quality family time together.||The maintenance team were friendly, prompt, and completely unobtrusive, and all of the staff were so welcoming and accommodating. The spa was fantastic, and nothing was ever too much trouble for anyone.||Every detail was so well thought out, and it truly made our celebration feel special. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience — such a wonderful family stay and one we’ll always remember. We can’t wait to come back!

We stayed 3 nights in a 3 bed beach house over half time. The weather was pretty awful but that didn’t impact our stay as the accommodation was perfect. Spacious, well designed living area with an amazing kitchen- everything you’d need for a short break plus a huge hamper of local goodies! The outside space was amazing- a private sauna, hot tub and bbq. The staff were so helpful- they even unpacked our food delivery for us before we arrived. On site coffees, massages and a bar serving sharing meals. A short walk to the most amazing sandy beach. Highly recommend!

Fantastic place with amazing beach houses, superb staff and lovely beach bar. |The house was spotless and the staff provided whatever you needed. We had early check in which was lovely and you can arrange Tesco delivery. The hot tub was checked by staff twice a day. The sauna was lovely. A great outdoor bbq with two outdoor eating areas. The kitchen had everything and a great welcome box of food. Even gluten free which they had realised when I asked for restaurant reservations |A truly exclusive place to stay. The beach, dunes and surfing is great. Amazing cliff views and seals in the next bay. Easy to drive to. |Super location.

y family and I had wanted to try Three Mile Beach for awhile now and we managed to book a three bedroom house over October half term. They have created something really special here, incredibly stylish beach houses, very comfortable furnishings, very dog friendly. We particularly enjoyed the hot tub despite the slightly dodgy weather we had two dinners at chomp the on-site restaurant. Both dinners were lovely and so nice to have something just a few steps from our house where we could have a nice dinner and take the dog. The staff at Three Mile beach could not be more helpful or friendly. I called ahead a week or so before to ask if there was any possibility of an early check-in as we had a very long drive they were kind enough to accommodate my request which was very helpful. The staff are not intrusive at all, but always on hand if you need them. We particularly love the proximity to the beach just a 5 min walk across the car park and through the dunes and you were on the most beautiful stretch of beach. We also enjoyed the proximity to bustling St Ives. Parking in St Ives is tricky so I’d advise taking the train which was a little adventure in itself. We wouldn’t hesitate to go back to Three Mile Beach and hope to do so soon

A wonderful stay in an elegant house. The staff were superb and could not do enough for you. So many little touches which make for a calm and relaxing stay. The sauna and hot tub on the deck are fabulous. Everything is of the highest quality. We particularly like the fact that TMB is eco-friendly. Highly recommendable.

Just back from our second stay this year. Plenty of sunny days even in October. Both properties that we stayed in were very well presented. High spec design and fittings. Everything you need for a very comfortable home from home. Everyone there made us feel welcome and looked after, especially at the on site Chomp Bar/Restaurant. The amazing beach is a few minutes walk away , never get bored of the views.
