"This bold and innovative beach hideaway, which spent four years in the making before opening to great acclaim in summer 2021, started out with a question: what is the best place in Britain for kitesurfing? Asking the question was Craig Burkinshaw, intrepid explorer, watersports fan, and founder of Audley Travel. And the answer – clearly – was here, on Gwithian’s 3 mile-long, west-facing beach in St Ives Bay. It's true. The waves roll in with a deliciously dependable surf, the west wind blows with beautiful predictability, the shore is endlessly sandy, with bobbing seals and secluded cliff-backed coves to shelter in. So, with his partner Jo, who has a handy eye for interior design, they bought a field above the bungalows of Gwithian's Towans ('sand dunes' in Cornish) and set about building 19 of the most cosseting, uplifting and stylish beach houses you can imagine. Think Bondi surf chic, with colourful touches from Mexico and Morocco, plus every conceivable creature comfort – from wine fridges to private sauna and hot tub on your sail-shaded deck. Naturally, surf lessons, boards and wetsuits are on hand, along with private chefs, boat trips and pretty much anything else you desire. With two, three or four bedrooms each, these houses are the ideal spot for some laid-back beachside luxury with your family (including four-legged friends), or for a very special get-together with mates. We have just returned from our fourth family holiday at Three Mile Beach and we can't recommend the place enough. The properties are stunning, equipped with all you need, and more. The outdoor space is beautiful with comfy outdoor furniture to relax on, and a hammock! We always love the treasure trove of beach stuff under the bed. Games, balls, and this time we found a windbreaker / canopy which was ideal for the kids. The beach is a short walk away and has great rock pools and space for all. The staff are all so lovely and can't do enough for you. Chomp is a fantastic find, tucked away with delicious food and a cool beer, wine or cocktail. 3MB is so child friendly, we've made use of cots, high chairs, bed guards and black out blinds during our visits. Plus it always helps there is suitable kids cutlery and plates in every home and games in the cupboard. Cuts down on the packing! We can't wait to return to our happy place.

Recently travelled down to Cornwall from Yorkshire to attend a wedding close by. We weren't staying on site but called into the bar after a walk on the beautiful beach; what a fabulous place to find! Superb modern and cool decor, friendly, welcoming staff and some fine ales to choose from. Highly recommended.

Our stay at the Three Mile Beach was absolutely incredible and exceeded all our expectations. An unforgettable stay! From the moment we arrived it was clear that no expense was spared in making guests feel comfortable. We were greeted with an amazing hamper that the team made completely vegan for us. The accomodation and whole site was spotless, with thoughtfully designed space. Every detail felt luxurious. The kitchen was exceptionally well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The garden area was like a part of the coast with a hot tub, sauna and plenty of places to relax. The location is perfect too, just a short walk to the beach and lots of surrounding places to explore. The staff deserve a special mention for being extremely helpful and going beyond expectations. We had a pizza party with some guests to celebrate our wedding, which was a lovely and memorable occasion! Everyone loved Three Mile Beach! The Yellow Submarine house and Three Mile Beach team made our wedding and honeymoon so incredibly special. We were so sad to leave and hope to come back next year to spend our first anniversary here! If you're considering booking, don't hesitate! You won't regret it!

We had an absolutely fantastic weekend break and would highly recommend this place! |We stayed in echo beach as an adult family of 4. The location is ideal—just a short walk to the stunning seaside, perfect for strolls with our dog. |The house was spotless and very well equipped with all the latest kitchen gadgets and supplies. It's clearly been thoughtfully set up for dog owners, with bowls, a bed, towels, and even treats provided—such a bonus not having to pack it that! We loved the added luxury of the hot tub and sauna, with comfy dressing gowns supplied for extra comfort. Great and varied welcome hamper all Cornish products!It’s those little touches that made our stay feel extra special. |Truly dog friendly, not just dog tolerant, and an ideal base for relaxing or exploring the coast. Would definitely come back. Five stars without hesitation!

Oh my word. This place! I cannot recommend Three Mile Beach enough! Before our stay we were sent a fabulous brochure and we received a couple of calls to ensure everything would be catered for on our arrival. The welcome hamper is beyond anything you would expect. The quality and the content were all very upmarket and delicious. Everything in our beach house was top quality from the appliances to the furniture and the bedding. Everything you need is provided: house and beach towels, beach games, dog beds etc. The hot tub and sauna were the icing on the cake. We just loved everything about the accommodation. The beach bar, chomp, was fab too and I was so surprised how close to the beach the accommodation is. It’s literally a matter of minutes walk. The beach itself is absolutely stunning. We walked about 45 minutes, possibly less, to see the seals. That was an incredible experience. We would really loved to visit again.

Superb location and excellent modern properties with thoughtful touches. The villas are very well maintained, packed with clever touches and extra features (hot tub, sauna, BBQ). Parking at the villas is very convenient as the public car park gets packed very quickly. There is EV charging on the site and is included in the rate. The welcome hamper is also very generous. This place is dog-friendly as well. It is expensive but I would highly recommended this venue if you want comfort, privacy, convenience and proximity to the beach and privacy. There is an onsite food truck themed cafe that serves food and drinks in the evening. Food quality was okay but there are plenty of restaurants and cafes in nearby villages and towns - however these will require a drive out or very long walk to access.

Probably the best staycation we’ve ever had. It has the service of a 5 star hotel and the freedom of a villa/self catered accommodation.|It has just about every amenity you could think of needing, the kitchens got enough to cater for several families in terms of cutlery/plates etc. Loved the gas bbq/outdoor kitchen. They’ve thought of every single detail, from safety for little ones to the materials of their furnishings.|The staff are A* and go above and beyond. Shoutout to Lauren who made the stay extremely special in particular.|I’m sure we’ll be back in the future!

What an incredible place Three Mile Beach is! Our stay was as unique as it was luxury, simply like nowhere we have visited or would expect to visit in the UK or further afield. Every bit of detail has been thought about in the beach houses and provided at a high standard, you quite literally have everything you need for any type of stay…with kids, bringing the dog, visiting with friends/family etc. The location is stunning, with one of the biggest, most spacious beaches I’ve experienced right on the doorstep. All sorts of activities are available such as surf lessons, coasteering and so on. The team at Three Mile Beach matched the standards of the stay from start to finish, providing everything and anything we needed with a smile. We booked their pizza party one night which I’d absolutely recommend. As a family of 5 we all agreed we have never experienced anywhere like Three Mile Beach and cannot wait to return. I wholly recommend making a visit, you’ll experience something truly unique.
