"“I try to get up to the Granary every December for a pre-holiday getaway,” says Abra Berens, executive chef at Granor Farm in Three Oaks, Michigan, and the James Beard Award-nominated author of Ruffage: A Practical Guide to Vegetables. “I turn my phone off and go for long, snowy walks in one of the most beautiful places on earth.” The minimalist two-bedroom cottage is nestled on the tip of Leelanau County in northern Michigan. “We like staying here because there is some land to hike; it is well-designed but not overly fussy, so I don't feel compelled to photograph every angle; and it’s just down the road from Fischer's Happy Hour Tavern, a 1920s roadhouse and one of my favorite places to pony up to the bar.”" - Ashlea Halpern

Yelp
I really enjoyed my second stay here. Their rooms are clean, classy, and beautifully decorated. The fireplace suite has more bells and whistles than the room I stayed in last time (i.e., a heated tile floor in the bathroom). The hosts are great and kind people! I enjoyed some time out on the patio (and the neighborhood cat Kelly even joined me)!

Yelp
This was a fabulous find in a sweet little town full of charm and wonderful restaurants and shops. The owners could not have been more gracious! They helped me with my bags and explained all the lovely extras in the room. The room (#5 - it had a name I can't remember) was lovely, peaceful. The bed was very comfortable. It was very clean, had a great shower. Good air conditioning. And the breakfasts were delicious and wholesome and freshly made (you have to try Ken's blueberry muffins - yum!). I would stay there again. There were several outdoor sitting areas that I enjoyed, one in the evening while sipping a glass of wine . And I asked for breakfast on the porch with the cool morning and filtered sunlight. It could not have been better. Plus they had reverse osmosis water system which I appreciated! Lovely, perfect stay! Great for couples, I'd say! I'll be returning there!

Yelp
The Three Oaks Inn looks elegant and feels comfortable. We enjoyed everything: the Fireplace Suite, the library, the parlor, the garden pergola, and breakfast on the porch. Each breakfast was creative, delicious, and more than enough. Ron and Ken are friendly, responsive to questions/requests, and have excellent tips about things to see in the area. We had a great time!

Yelp
The house and property are beautiful! The pergola is a lovely setting and as soon as one of the owners Ron saw me out there he came and showed me how to turn on the fireplace and get really comfy. They are attentive and sensitive to their guests here! I'm also a very picky eater and they happily came up with breakfast solutions for me. Oh and let me tell you about my room. It was both lush and quaint, how did they pull that off? The bathroom was modern and spacious with all the usual amenities. Privacy hedges had me feeling like I was in my own little world on the second floor. And the cherry on top? The other owner Ken does massages and does them well! He's very professional but also relaxed and soothing. After an hour on his table I felt like I had brand new shoulders. TLDR: Let the husbands pamper you in a gorgeous house, you deserve it

Yelp
From the moment I stepped in to the moment I left, my experience was amazing. As I walked up to the Bed and Breakfast, the door opened and was greeted by Ron for a warm welcome. He gave me a tour of the house to make sure I was comfortable and knew how to operate everything for a comfortable stay. It was beautifully decorated and none was spared for details. The place was immaculate and perfect for a cozy stay. He took my belongings to my room, which had the decor that says welcome, a fireplace, a television and windows to shed enough light, with real blinds. The room was lit for welcome. The bathroom was also immaculate with everything you need, great lighting, shampoo, conditioner, dryer, and other amenities. Coffee is available at anytime, and breakfast is served the next morning prepared by The hosts. Not a continental, but a homemade breakfast made with love served in the dining room, per guest. There is no such thing as paper plates or napkins here. As I was leaving, Ron walked me out to the porch for a farewell. I met both hosts as I arrived and at my departure, Ken had massage appointments all day so I only was able to thank Ron for the warm welcome and fabulous stay. Oh, and by the way, massages are on premise so make sure to book in advance! What an excellent B and B. I found a new place to stay whenever I am in the area!! It is a 5 star gem!

Yelp
We stayed here while in town for a wedding and couldn't have been more pleased. Check-in with smooth. We were greeted as soon as we arrived and were given the full tour, including an overview of our room and its amenities. The room was comfortable and cozy. We both had a great night of sleep following the wedding reception. Breakfast the next morning was lovely, especially the blueberry muffins. Overall, an excellent place to stay. I would highly recommend it and hope to come back soon!

Yelp
What a great place to stay if you're in the Three Oaks, MI. area. The two owners of this delightful B&B have got to be the nicest and most accommodating guys you will ever meet. They made me feel right at home and the place had a very peaceful / calm feeling (and that's saying something as I was a groomsman with 7 other guys at the Inn). Bed was very comfortable, room was quiet and with each unit having it's own bathroom you have complete privacy. Easy walking distance to all of the towns restaurants and shops. I give it 5 stars just for the owners.

Yelp
I've had the pleasure of staying at this lovely in twice, and it's Grade A. The rooms are all lovely (the photos don't do them justice), and the quality of everything is super. The breakfast that Ron and Ken serve is delish, and they do an excellent job of accommodating special dietary needs. I love to play the piano in the front room. Exquisite. Three Oaks Inn has clearly been created with love and care. Don't pass up an opportunity to stay here.

Yelp
Can't say enough good things about this place. Owners Ron and Ken are gracious and accommodating, the room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean, and the breakfast was ample and delicious (including blueberry muffins made from local blueberries). The front porch is a lovely place to pass a morning or evening. The whole place, inside and out, shows meticulous care, thoughtfulness, and good taste, with modern updates that still preserve the wonderful vintage character of the house.

Yelp
The accommodations were fantastic but the owners really made it an incredible experience. My husband forgot a shirt for a wedding we attended so they brought us quite a selection of their own shirts for him to choose from. He managed to spill wine on one cuff. We got most of it out but they weren't even mad. And this was after we had a roller coaster of whether or not we were going to be able to stay at all. I can't recommend this place enough.

Yelp
We rented out the entire inn for my friend's bachelorette party weekend, and it was phenomenal. The inn itself is actually way cuter than it appears in the photos, and it has a fantastic outdoor patio. The rooms are pristine and the 'crows nest' at the top was sooooo much fun. Ken and Ron were the absolute best. You always have to wonder what breakfast you're going to get at a B&B -- I only expect bagels and fruit -- but they went above and beyond. Homemade French toast casserole, from-scratch muffins, fresh juice, the works. And they were sooooo accommodating -- it really made the weekend special! I will absolutely stay here again.

Yelp
My family and I spent a weekend in the Crow's Nest at Three Oaks Inn. We found our hosts and the inn itself to be pleasant. Once you get into the Crow's Nest, the room is comfortable and cute albeit with an extremely low ceiling. I am 5'5" and I had to watch my head. My poor hubby dinged his head. Getting into the room though is the hard part. To say that one should be comfortable with stairs is an understatement and misleading. I climb up and down stairs every day and I have no mobility issues. This is hold on for dear life, I think I am climbing a ladder with my luggage on my back kind of stairs. My family and I were all completely surprised by the steepness of these stairs. The breakfast while good was ordinary. Breakfast on Saturday was oatmeal (my typical weekday breakfast) with raisins and brown sugar, some nice muffins, packaged yogurt and apple, banana, clementines. On Sunday, it was the same plus some boiled eggs. Not what I am use to experiencing when I go to a bed and breakfast. I had read previous reviews and was expecting a delicious and exciting breakfast. Oatmeal, while good and healthy, is nothing to rave about. If the host had told me ahead of time that breakfast would be a Continental breakfast, I would have chosen to check out one of the local cafes for breakfast.

Yelp
I highly doubt this place would go down on ratings. It is too awesome. Absolutely loved this place, the owners, the decor, the room, the details and the quality of service is just unbeatable. I would highly recommend anyone thinking stopping by Three Oaks to take this place with serious consideration. Ron and Ken, keep up the great work and looking forward to the new place.

Yelp
My husband and I were extremely impressed with Three Oaks Inn. Upon arriving, Ken warmly greeted us and showed us around the entire B&B, as we were the only guests at the time. Each room is beautifully decorated and very cozy. I am extremely particular about cleanliness (which is why we stay at B&Bs as opposed to hotels), and our room didn't disappoint. Everything in the room, down to the sheets, are top-quality and very well cared for. Breakfast was absolutely delicious, and included fresh fruit, homemade muffins, quiche, sausage and fresh juice. We enjoyed our conversations with Ron about the town and local attractions. Both Ken and Ron respected our privacy, but still made themselves readily available for any request we had. If we ever visit Harbor Country again, we will definitely be back!

Yelp
A group of us stayed here on Easter Saturday and it's first rate B&B for certain! I've stayed a few bed and breakfasts in the general area and would rate Three Oaks among the best. One of the things that separates Three Oaks from it's peers is the Decor. A lot of the B&B's in Southwest Michigan looks like they were decorated in the early 90's and haven't been altered since. Three Oaks does a great job pulling off the modern (yet still cozy) feel. There is also a spacious porch out front that the weather allowed us to take advantage of. Furthermore, the inn is also in walking distance to Journeymen Distillery & Pleasant House, two of the local attractions. The owners were extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Last (but certainly not least) the breakfast was amazing! Possibly the best Blueberry Muffin I've ever had. This is coming from a man that's downed a muffin or two in his day. The quiche was top notch as well. Don't really have anything bad to say. Stay at Three Oaks Inn, you'll like it.

Yelp
Excellent B&B, beautiful house, great hosts. Thanks again

Yelp
We had a wonderful experience at the Three Oaks Inn. The rooms are lovely, the location is only about five miles from the beach and right around the corner from downtown Three Oaks and all of the wonderful shops there. The staff could not have been more friendly and accomodating, and the breakfast buffet was delicious. We will definately make this our place to stay whenever we are in the Three Oaks area.

Yelp
Just got back from Three Oaks Inn. We hadn't been back sooner because of family health reasons but it was just as great as the other times. Ron & Ken take great pride in their inn and it shows. They have been able to capture the small town warmth & quaintness with modern comforts. They continue to deliver great service now and I know into the future. Can't wait to return!

Yelp
We rented the whole Inn for our wedding this past June and were absolutely delighted! Ron and Ken were more than accommodating and went above and beyond to make sure our guests were comfortable. We even held our informal rehearsal dinner/outdoor barbeque on Friday evening and it was a hit! The home and grounds were beautiful and both guests who stayed there and who just visited commented all weekend about what a great place it was. I can truly say that our whole wedding weekend was perfect and their contribution to our memorable event made it just that. We plan on many anniversaries there. Thanks guys!! Keep up the fantastic work!!

Yelp
Can't say enough good things about the Three Oaks Inn or the innkeepers and have already recommended it to a few friends! From the minute we stepped through the front door we felt at home and like family. The house was immaculate, rooms very comfortable, updated and had all the amenities we needed. The innkeepers were very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable about the area, local restaurants, attractions and entertainment and didn't hesitate to go above and beyond to make the sure all our needs were taken care of. We thought breakfast would be a standard continental one and were pleasantly surprised to be greeted in the morning by homemade quiche, freshly baked blueberry muffins, individual bowls of fresh fruit and breakfast ham in addition to a wide variety of hot and cold beverages. The location couldn't be better either- just a short walk from the center and town and a short drive to neighboring town and beaches. This was our first visit to a B&B so we weren't sure how we would like it, but as we were leaving my husband and I were already planning our next trip back... and for more days!

Yelp
My first experience with a B&B was at the Three Oaks Inn and it was FABULOUS! The house is amazing, our bed was comfortable and our room had a beautifully renovated bathroom with all the modern amenities. The innkeepers are extremely friendly and go above and beyond to make sure each and every guest is well taken care of. Our breakfast in the morning was another wonderful treat! We were treated to homemade quiches, fresh muffins, fruit and breakfast ham. It was so nice to sit down at the table and talk to the innkeepers and the other guests at the inn. Overall though, my favorite part was enjoying a glass of wine in the evening on the large, front porch. It was relaxing and a wonderful way to end our fun day exploring the area. I would HIGHLY recommend The Three Oaks Inn to anyone looking for a comfortable, friendly and cost efficient getaway to a B&B. I can't wait to book my next trip!

Yelp
We were looking for somewhere in Michigan for a quick weekend trip but couldn't decide on where. A vendor at the Logan Square farmer's market recommended Three Oaks and mentioned that they just opened a B&B in town. We were so lucky for that chance encounter because Three Oaks Inn was fantastic. We stayed in the Palladian Suite which was spacious and really nicely decorated. You can tell they paid a lot of attention to detail in decorating the room and the whole Inn. The Innkeepers, Ron & Ken, were super friendly and very helpful. The Inn is located blocks from downtown Three Oaks which is lined with antique shops, an indie movie theater (the Vickers), and a few cafes. It's also driving distance (5 minutes) to New Buffalo. I can't wait to go back and I'm already planning my next trip (hoping in October).

Yelp
We stayed a couple weeks ago and we had an amazing stay. The owners are so nice and hospitable. They gave us tons of suggestions on what do while we were in town and places to eat. The breakfast every morning was delicious. All the rooms are very spacious and I loved all the public space and fireplaces. It was a great experience in the middle of February. I can't wait to go back in the summer!

Yelp
My husband and I decided to take a last-minute weekend trip from Chicago. We found Three Oaks Inn online and contacted them for a reservation. Thankfully, they were able to accommodate us with just a couple days notice (granted the inn is newer than most of the other b&bs in the area...and I wouldn't be surprised if this place books up quickly in the warmer months as it only has three rooms...and is super cute). We stayed in the Palladian Suite, which was tastefully decorated and extremely clean. The bed was very comfortable. When we arrived, the owner showed us around the beautiful, historic house, gave us a guide to the Harbor Country area, and offered us wine from the wine fridge. The b&b is within walking distance to "downtown" Three Oaks. I use quotes because it's mainly one street that is very quaint but cute! We ended up having our meals in New Buffalo, which has more dining options. In the morning, we were treated to fresh fruit, sausages, and mini quiches. The owner also chatted with us and told us about other area attractions. The only drawback is that the rooms are pretty much right next to each other and therefore don't offer very much privacy. Also, since we were probably one of the first guests, there are just a few wrinkles to iron out (for instance, it would be lovely to have a couple bottles of water and glasses in the rooms). All in all, we had a very pleasant stay and would return if we're in the area again!

Yelp
Have been to various B&B's over the years and this was hands down the best -- exquisite attention to detail in every nook and cranny -- super friendly owners that were fun to chat with. You feel their passion and caring as they have put together a perfect experience. Vintage old house with warm colors. And I had no idea that this little destination town / area -- Three Oaks -- only a 1.6 hour drive west our our condo in East Lakeview, Chicago, had so much to offer .... examples; Journeyman's Distillery (festive vibe; great drinks and people / staff) in the downtown area is walking distance; Warren Woods State Park and the Warren Dunes (on Lake Michigan -- we got our nature immersion / fix and are about 7-15 min from Three Oaks) -- breathtaking even on a cold fall day; fantastic evening entertainment at Acorn Theater with Chicago talent (improv and live music), bike paths, wineries, etc. Check out Three Oaks, with friends, a date you'd like to impress (stay in the top room - the "crow's next"), and stay at this little gem. You will like !

Yelp
Staying at the Three Oaks Inn was a treat for my husband and I. It was our first visit to Three Oaks, our stay at the Inn was wonderful. The Inn is beautifully decorated, definitely not your average B&B, it's tasteful. The bed in our room was very comfortable, the bathroom was spotless, actually the whole place was spotless. We stayed in the "palladian room" it has the window that the Innkeepers use as their logo which I think is a nice touch. We slept-in late Sunday morning and the Inkeepers held breakfast for us, which they did not have to do. Breakfast: individual quiches, fresh baked muffins, sliced fruit, juice and coffee/teas. My husband took seconds on everything and he's a picky eater. We liked it so much that we took some of their literature to give to friends when we get home. We are planning a return visit in the fall, we were told that the fall colors are beautiful and that we need to see some of the wineries which we didn't have time to do.
