Hands down the best bagels in the area. I recently witnessed a couple have a full meltdown because they didn’t want to pay extra for additional smoked salmon on an open-faced bagel. Now I see they’re leaving fake reviews just to bash a small business. This shop has been a staple in our neighborhood for years. The owner and staff are hardworking, kind people who survived COVID and continue to push through rising food costs with grace. They always greet customers with a smile and even ask how my parents are doing. Truly a neighborhood gem.

Google
Horrible experience, ordered a Taylor Egg and Cheese on an everything bagel (I mean who can mess that up?) the sandwich tasted rotten like the egg mix has been there for days. The places is not hygienic at all. I am bought a juice just to notice after I left that it was expired since November 2024. This place is a health hazard.

Google
$17.95 for barley any cream cheese, a tiny bit of lox, and horrible customer service. Stay away, this is why they are slow. When I brought up the issue I was told to go else where. Certainly will!

My co-worker has been bringing bagels from here to work in NYC for years and they've always been outstanding, so on a recent trip to NJ I was excited to learn we'd be near the location itself. The bagels are indeed excellent at source too although if anything the hot Taylor ham, egg and cheese detracted from the bagel itself a little bit. The coffee was terrible but probably on par with most delis.

5 stars (out of 3!) I’ve been a local for ages, and I can’t believe this hidden gem has been right under my nose! The bagels here are incredible—huge, with a slightly crispy exterior and a soft, pillowy interior that reminds me of Ess-a-Bagel in NYC. There’s free parking right out front, which is a nice bonus. They also offer deli meats and a grill—an ultimate combo. In a town full of great bagel spots, this one truly stands out. I’ve found my New Year’s resolution: working my way through their menu and trying all the sandwiches. The staff is super friendly and kind, and the deals are fantastic. Buy a half dozen bagels and get a free one, or buy a full dozen and get two extras. What a steal!

Google
Best Breakfast Joint I've been at in Teaneck, NJ!! I had the wonderfully fresh Blueberry Bagel toasted with butter and jelly, than Pomegranate Tea! Great customer service, so we'll, I tipped and even bought a larger tea. I came back to this place after I got a freshly baked everything bagel toasted with butter and jelly. All the employees are welcoming and professional!!!!

Google
If I could give this place 0 stars I would not sure how they’ve even survived this long. GET YOUR BAGEL FROM ANYWHERE ELSE IN NJ ! DO NOT GO HERE THEY ARE DISGUSTING and over priced

Google
The guys who are there every day are always pleasant and friendly. The owner isn’t afraid to jump in and help make food. And the food itself is amazing! Best bagels in Bergen county!!! My wife and I make it a regular visit every week. The only thing I would change. Maybe a little dusting. I’m sure that the flour gets everywhere. But that’s all. Keep up the great service and amazing food!!!

Yelp
If you're hungry and looking for an overstuffed bacon, egg and cheese bagel sandwich, then look no further than 3-Star Bagels (@threestarbagels ) in Teaneck, NJ. The bagels here are always large, fresh, and super fluffy... And they carry a nice variety of bagels, ranging from plain, cinnamon raisin, everything, sesame, and much more. Their menu doesn't end with just bagels, but it's a full deli, carrying variety of deli meats, cheeses, and salads. I've actually had their chicken salad before and it's really good. The location can get busy, but it's a testament to their product and to their customer service. Also, if you're looking for a fancy-schmancy artisanal bagel shop, you're not gonna get that here. It's an old-school deli bagel shop that's been serving the community for over 40+ years where they know what they're doing and they do it really well. 402 Cedar Ln, Teaneck, NJ 07666 201.928.4226 Check them out @threestarbagels

Yelp
Stopped in for a few bagels this morning on my way to work. Did not love the experience I had, and I will not be back. I made a phone call to see if anyone else in my office wanted a bagel. I was not being loud or rude, as I was one of the only people in the store. When I was ready to order, I patiently waited and gave my order. I noticed the man handling my order was not giving me the correct cream cheese, so I politely explained I asked for scallion cream cheese. He immediately cut me off and said I asked for plain (I did not). I asked for 2 separate bags since the orders were going to 2 separate people. He did not respond so I was unsure if he heard me. After another minute I asked again. He snapped at me and told me "I heard you the first time". I will be honest; the bagel and cream cheese was decent; however, the service was horrible and inexcusable. For this reason, I will not be returning or recommending this establishment.

Yelp
Food: 3/5 Service: 5/5 It was a decent bagel sandwich. VERY packed with cream cheese though. My friend wished for the bagel to be less chewy as well. Would not necessarily go back again as there are other bagel shops nearby.

Yelp
I had a BLT on an everything it was perfect. The lettuce was crisp the bacon was cook to perfection. My husband had a Taylor egg and cheese. They were generous with the Taylor ham.

Yelp
Still stand by my previous review... the sandwich is of epic proportion and serves up hot and made to order! The location is right on Cedar Lane and has indoor seating. When I'm not having an everything bagel, the PEG is my go to... The store is cozy and offers plenty of seating. My order was taken quickly and served up hot and fresh. Try it!

Yelp
While the bagel and cream cheese spread was fair, the service and cleaniness was extremely poor! Down, right insulting!!!! 1st. The cleanliness of the establishment is poor, floor filthy dirty, and tables sticky. 2nd. We purchased along with our order, a coffee, and an orange juice. I took a coffee cup to drink the orange juice. The owner immediately came over and took the cup away from me. When I asked him why, he stated, "You must drink it from a straw!" Then, he proceeded to walk away with the cup. I was appalled. 3. They provide you with an extremely small napkin with your order. When I asked where the napkins were, the clerk handed another tiny napkin not even fit to blow your nose. 4. Customer service is non-existent! I unequivocally do not recommend this establishment .

Yelp
The bagels there are great. Some of the best I ever had, and the size are larger than most, however I will never go back there. The two guys working behind the counter are as rude as they come. The owner is very nice and personable. These two guys ticked me off for the last time. Will never go back there.

Yelp
Great bagels. Large, soft, and the right amount of chewiness. We had the cinnamon raisin, plain, everything, and sesame. We asked for ones that were less well done the second day we went since we prefer them that way. The cream cheese tasted great and the lox were not too salty and tasted very fresh. The star of the show was the crumb cake. It was soft, not too sweet and very fresh. They make it fresh daily and you can tell. Great place for bagels and crumb cake if you are in the area.

Yelp
Best Bagels in the Area as far as Im concerned.... Can't recommend enough.

Yelp
ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND ABSOLUTELY NOTHING beats THESE bagels I been coming her for years and every time it just keeps getting better if even possible The people are so nice

Yelp
They always put 1 pound of butter on my bagels , I think I'm going to feel this when I get older

Yelp
This is a late post for my last visit at this location. Bagels are fresh and priced accordingly for what you get. Staff are always friendly and there is usually a short short line on the weekends. The rye and pumpernickel bagels sell out quick, but ALWAYS warm when I order them early in the morning before 9am. Rye bagels are sprinkled with seeds at top side only (not sprinkled on both side for maximum flavor.) I am a fan of sliced lox bagels and have ordered several from them before with cream cheese. Unfortunately, there is always a strong fishy after taste. Hopefully management can reevaluate inventory and replenishes the sliced lox to keep food fresh, or improve lox quality ASAP.

Yelp
So one of my close friends has been a loyal customer for years and we finally took on his offer to visit this establishment. I ordered a turkey bacon egg and cheese and it was superb! There was a equal amount of servings of the three main ingredients and the bread roll was so soft. My friends also enjoyed their sandwiches and raved about the quality and quantity. The owner was so friendly, he made us feel welcomed and even gave us some free cookies! I will definitely be back next Sunday after softball practice!

Yelp
It's been a while since I've eaten here but decided to stop in this morning to grab my daughter breakfast before school. I usually get a bagel with cream cheese and bacon (weird combo but tastes delish) and was surprised that they charged $11!! So I said no thanks, just give me a sausage and cheese on a bagel... $7! My daughter just had plain sausage on a bagel, no egg no cheese... $7! The two bagels and an apple juice came to $17. We don't order breakfast often so I paid up and went on our day. I opened my daughters and hers looked decent. She had two sausage patties on a barely toasted bagel. She doesn't like hard bagels so I didn't mind and she even proclaimed how happy she was. I opened my bagel and pieces of sliced American cheese started to fall out. I was surprised to see two slices of non-melted American cheese and one sausage patty. For the price, should it have killed you to make sure you served the same amount in the same order.. or even make sure the cheese was melted?? I'm extremely disappointed with the food for the price. There are plenty of other bagel stores in town, even on the same block that would give better quality food for a better price. Last time I will patronize this store.
google avatar

Alex T.

Yelp
Great service here. I've come here every time I'm here visiting family. Always the same - cinnamon raisin with strawberry cream cheese. Their coffee is a great tasting brew as well.
google avatar

Jennifer G.

Yelp
The owner had an empty store, we spent $$ on bagels, eggs, bacon, coffee, bottled water, but when 2 more of our party arrived he came over and said they had to order something. We said we'd order some more coffee. The owner said, no that wouldn't do. He said they had to spend $10 each to stay there. The bagels were good, but not worth this kind of hassle. And god forbid we moved a chair over to another table so we could all sit together. The owner watched us like a hawk to forbid us from moving chairs. It was a very uncomfortable experience.

Jennifer H.

Yelp
Hands down best bagel place around; fantastic iced coffee as well. For anyone complaining about the service, you must be the problem - I've been coming here for years and the two guys working behind the counter are always friendly, smiling, greeting customers and the owner knows everyone in town. People walking by stop in just to say hi to him. 10/10 Recommend and so worth it.
google avatar

Kelley M.

Yelp
After reading reviews about how rude the staff was I was concerned. Traveling from and living in the south, rudeness from a business is not tolerated. I was gonna use my all of my southern charm to try to avoid this. But to my pleasant surprise the older gentleman who took care of me could not have more pleasant. Great pastries and great service
google avatar

Ai S.

Yelp
RUN from this place. They have the worst customer service and they don't use gloves. No sanitary policy. The owner is extremely rude and snobby. He refused to take a simple order and turned me away. I asked a few times what the problem was and him and his assistant both ignored me and walked away. I went up to the assistant to question what just happened, he ignored again and the third time I questioned he said " listen -I'm busy, stop bothering me". I would never recommend this place.
google avatar

Jose C.

Yelp
Great fod but they close at 12:50 not 1pm as the sign says Drive from two towns away. Edit: FOOL ME ONCE... They fucking fooled me twice . . I tried again as the masochist I am. I called at 12:37 and they said I had 15 minutes to get an egg sandwich I showed up at 12:46 and they said "la grilla esta closed" NEVER AGAIN
google avatar

Giselle H.

Yelp
I've been going to this place for years and every time I've bought something it was of excellent quality and the owner and staff have been very nice and helpful. Not only do they have delicious bagels and salads--their crumb cake is superb!

George H.

Yelp
Regular Jersey bagel.. 10 dollars for a sausage egg & cheese is ridiculous though I mean come on
google avatar

Elisabeth C.

Yelp
The name of this place is exactly what you should expect, but 1 star would be more accurate. First of all it's completely over priced SEVEN dollars for a bacon egg and cheese on a bagel or roll for the price you would expect it to be the best sandwich you've ever had FALSE it's total garbage I mean GARBAGE looks like garbage, tastes like garbage the eggs were burnt dry and spongey and they wrapped the undercooked bacon inside so when you bite it the chewy stringy bacon pulls everything out with it. We paid $32 for 4 sandwiches and no one could even stomach them. We contemplated going back I and complaining but honesty I wouldn't even want anything else they could offer. Don't waste your time. If you're in the Teaneck area and looking for great bagels hot bagels is your spot they're kosher so bacon egg and cheese but much much better quality and great people!
google avatar

Yasmin R.

Yelp
Hand's down Teaneck's best bagel shop. Whether it's before a road trip, on your way to work, or just an early morning Saturday breakfast. Three Star Bagel is where you should go. The bagels are always fresh; the hot grill breakfast, bacon egg on roll falls right in line. What more can I say, they're goooood!
google avatar

Gabriela V.

Yelp
It's ironic how I said it's crazy how they named their spot "3 stars" who would do that, wouldn't five stars be better? That's exactly what happened except they get 1 because the only good thing is how good the bagels are. Ive heard from those I know and online about how horrible the service was.. but today I decided to give it a shot and I so regret giving this place my time and money. White short man with white hair thinks he can speak to people like he is better than everyone. It's crazy how nasty and closed minded people with businesses can be nowadays, be kind because you do not know who you're speaking to! The service industry is tough and I can confirm from a personal experience. Which leads for me to remind you: You don't survive without the customer and one day it will show. So many businesses in this area are losing their touch and not only are things getting pricey (yes I know Inflation is crazy), but you're service is ATROCIOUS! This is my 4th business in the Teaneck/Bogota area in the last MONTH that has just absolutely left a sour taste in my mouth.. NO THANK YOU.
google avatar

Yelp
The owner is incredibly rude. I walked into the store and went to the counter to order some hot food and he barked out that that's the wrong place to order food and other people were there first. I had ordered hot food at this counter several times before and thought that was the place to go. No one was standing there. The other area was where people were ordering bagels not hot food so I thought. I so taken aback by his rudeness that I walked out of the store and went to Teaneck Bagels instead. I was a bit shook up so I saw a white infinity Q 50 in front of the store and open the door and sat in it. I own a white infinity Q 50 that was parked two cars away. The owner came running out after me and started yelling that that wasn't my car. I explained that I own the same exact car and I had made a mistake. He called me stupid and a moron. I got into my car and drove away very upset. I will never step foot there ever again.

Deborah S.

Yelp
Stay away from this place if your party is more than 4 people. The shop owner clearly does not want eat/in customer groups. Very rude! He practically chased us out.

Sharon R.

Yelp
Best bagels EVER! My sister & husband have been going for years, I used to drive from Carteret in Middlesex County to Teaneck just to get a supply of bagels & cream cheese. Moved to Teaneck 6 yrs ago & it is dangerous because they are only 2 minutes away & I can get their yummy bagels, cream cheese or sandwiches anytime. We always get their everything bagel, sesame, plain, raisin, & their fantastic handmade cream cheese. We get them always, the older man is such a sweetheart & so is the rest of his staff. To those who wrote the older man was rude, FYI if you're rude or demanding or impatient the older man will hand it right back to you! If you are nice, polite & patient, you will receive the same, be rude, disrespectful you also will get the same!

Yelp
Came here for the 1st time on Saturday. Family brought me. When I think of deli or bagel shops this is what my mind sees, I am not from NJ or NY so maybe its stereotyping but beside my bagel being awesome the atmosphere was what I expected. Neighborhood go to place. The owner (belive I was told) Mr Cosmo was cool his friend (for got his name) were really cool, would love to just go and have a morning with the two. I will be back.
google avatar

Richard M.

Yelp
Hard to find better bagels in the area. Closer to work so I don't get to go often. Bagel sandwiches are a bit pricey.

laura E.

Yelp
Absolutely the most disrespectful owner and staff. I would not recommend this place at all . You can't ask a simple request without getting attitude or getting kicked out. Thank god there's other bagel stores in town that are way better with their customer service and bagels.
google avatar

Divine M.

Yelp
A solid place to buy your breakfast. The bagels are pretty good. I have yet to find a bagel place that has perfect Everything bagels, as most bagel places these days just put poppy seeds and sesame seeds and call it an everything bagel. Three Star Bagels also put salt and onion on their everything bagels, and are generous with it. I asked for cheddar on my bagel sandwich, because I like the good stuff, and my sandwich had a heap of gooey, delicious cheese on it. Yum!

Daisha R.

Yelp
I was planning on ordering from this place and I needed to call to ask a simple question. I asked if they take orders for pick as I was in a rush, but the man rudely screamed over the phone "no we don't take pick up you need to come in," and then hung up. He was extremely rude and the tone in his voice made me change my mind right away. My family has ordered from here and it is extremely overpriced too. I would suggest changing their name to one star bagels.
google avatar

Jason S.

Yelp
Back in North Jersey, had to grab a nice bagel sandwich for breakfast. On a weekday over spring break you can actually move in here, haha. The guys here are quick and helpful and the bagels are great. Bacon, egg, and cheese is the most popular here, so I finally broke down and got one. It was excellent. The go to bagel spot in Teaneck area! Check it out.
google avatar

Gabe C.

Yelp
Amazing bagels & quick service . Highly recommend this if you want a solid breakfast. Was in a rush for work and to my first job with a full stomach
google avatar

Ziad H.

Yelp
The bagels here are all you need. The cream cheeses/egg salad and other things are a bit pricey. I usually pick up a few bagels at once to last me the week. They're made fresh everyday as the owner told me and they definitely feel and taste that way. A staple for an early morning bagel if you're in the area.
google avatar

James D.

Yelp
I will give credit where it is do, the breakfast sandwiches here are very good. They do great work. The bagels are pretty good, but I can't get over the fact that the owner is so overwhelmingly rude. Whenever I go in he has a bad attitude to the point where I stopped going, which is a shame because the food is good. He charges extra money for egg sandwiches after 11:00. I paid $11 for a bacon egg and cheese on a bagel with a hasbrown. I hope the attitude of this place changes.

Sylvia D.

Yelp
Two friends and I stopped here yesterday mid-day for a cup of coffee and were happy they had some tables to sit at so we could visit with one another. I sat at one of the tables (there was only one other table occupied and a couple others were available) while my friends were paying for their coffee. I was promptly told that we could only sit at the table for 10 minutes and if we wanted to sit for half an hour, we needed to spend $10. I didn't see any signs detailing this policy and thought the person (owner?) instructing me of this policy was rather unpleasant and unwelcoming, to say the least. I got up and informed my friends about the time limit and then stood near the door while they finished up their transactions. I was then instructed (by the same person) to move out of the way. At that point I had had enough and waited outside for my friends. The coffee was good but I have no intentions of ever patronizing this establishment again, given the disrespectful way I was treated. I work in customer service and if I ever treated a customer the way I was treated, I would be severely reprimanded and put on notice. I wanted to share my experience so others are aware of this potential rude behavior on the part of the shop's management. I guess they don't want to cultivate and grow their business!
google avatar

Felicia L.

Yelp
I love this place. I've tried tons of bagel spots and this one is definitely my favorite. They're not only nice but they do a great job. They're quick & efficient and give you the perfect amount. My favorite is always a Taylor ham, egg & cheese !

Mackenzie H.

Yelp
Good service. Have gone multiple times for large orders in the morning and everyone there is kind.
google avatar

Nino R.

Yelp
Biggest poppy seed bagel I've ever had in Jersey. Pricing is good and there are a ton of other breakfast and lunch options. I was also impressed with the diversity of non-alcoholic beverages in the refrigerated cases. You can also do a little bit of grocery shopping here too, but I would only encourage in case of an emergency. Not all is aces and eights at Three Star however, their home fries could use some work and their grill guy isn't all that speedy. However, this is a Boar's Head place so your long wait will be justly rewarded. Parking may be an issue with the storefront being on Cedar Lane. But that is no fault of ownership. So you may have to do a couple of circles around the block or park a block away. The extra work is worth it though; I haven't had a better bagel in all of New Jersey yet. And I've been looking...
google avatar

Charlie M.

Yelp
I go for the Bobo sandwich. This thing must weight 2-3 lbs. ridiculously good. Seasoned perfectly. Great variety of delicious bagels and cream cheese spreads.
google avatar

Theresa S.

Yelp
I really like their bagels, but over $10 for 2 with cream cheese, wow! Super expensive. Can't have that every day. Cream cheese is $18 a pound, they price it by the half pound $8.95 1/2lbs. Maybe the bacon egg and cheese is the better deal.
google avatar

Gregg C.

Yelp
I am a new customer and have spent about 25 dollars a day for the last three days between breakfast and coming back for lunch. This morning I got a bagel and iced coffee for my boss and I went to grab sugar and the older man came over from behind the counter to watch me and was staring at me and then walked over to me and made me put the sugar back. I took two of each packet, as I didn't know which one my boss likes. He told me three packets Max. I felt very uncomfortable and think that was stingy for him to do. Not happy with this experience and won't return now. Unfortunate that you have to come out from the back of the counter to watch customers take sugar. Never heard of or seen that in my life.
google avatar

Evan R.

Yelp
Food is amazing!! I always get a Bacon, egg and cheese on a roll. The service is great and everyone is really friendly. Highly recommend this place to anyone in the area looking for good breakfast food.

Imma M.

Yelp
I can't address the comments about the owner or the employees or the service, because I've only had these at work. Our office daily gets bagels from Three Star Bagels, and they are the best bagels ever. Fresh with a crisp outside that I can't even properly describe. You know like the muffin top is the best part of the muffin - well the outside of the bagels is just perfect, but you don't want to waste the insides! Maybe they are like a NY bagel? They are large, they taste great and they are highly satisfying.

Isaiah V.

Yelp
The reviews below about the rudeness of the owner are true. I went to Three Star Bagel today and simply inquired as to why an omelette with bacon home fries and toast, two bagels (one with nothing and the other with plain creams cheese) and two coffees cost $30. I've paid less at diners with actual waiters and service (including 25% tip). The owner began to yell at me, threatened to not give me my food (which he then gave me after I asked for my money back). As I was leaving he was screaming "go to Tik Tock, go to Tik Tock." Referring to Tik Tock diner. I've been going to Three Star for bagels for more than a decade. But I'll take the owners advice and I'll go to Tik Tock Diner in Hackensack, Hot Bagels, the Coffee Shop, or Bagel Twist in Teaneck, or Tenafly Diner in Tenafly. What I will never again do is walk into Three Star Bagels so that I can be overcharged and then yelled at by an angry and bitter owner. There are better options with better service, do not waste your money here.

Yelp
The store is a typical old bagel shop that needs some cosmetic upgrades. I got a sesame bagel with cream cheese. The bagel was good enough---nothing special---definitely better than the cardboard I find near Princeton. The owner, a small old man with a bald head and mustache, was nice at first. However, on the way out, I mistakenly thought I could take one empty coffee cup. Holy crap!!!! That old man ran out from behind the counter like a bat out of hell and confronted me and my mon, freaking out about the cup, shaking his head and arms like a loon saying, "No, you can't take the cup!" It was pretty embarrassing for him to make himself look that chintzy. Yet another example of bad customer service. Sigh.
