On the Grid : La Mouette

"Classical French cuisine with a modern twist, this restaurant is not afraid to mix it up, so you can expect some very inventive (but always delicious) dishes. In summer, the courtyard is set up for people to enjoy dinner under the stars. In winter the fires inside are always roaring and the fact that there are plenty corners to get cozy in make this venue perfect for winter romance." - Brand New Creative

The Three Wise Monkeys Delivered! The ramen, the sushi, the buns – everything was absolutely delicious! The quality of the food was consistent across the board, and the flavors really hit the mark. The service was top notch – attentive, friendly, and efficient. My only (very personal) gripe: the place is quite crowded and therefore feels loud. It doesn’t quite give off the traditional restaurant vibe, more like a bustling, vibrant spot. That said, it didn’t take away from the experience at all – the food more than made up for it. Amazing overall – I’d definitely go back!

I have officially been schooled on Ramen bowls and I am addicted. This food is so fresh and delicious and full of great healthy ingredients. The environment is also young and fresh as well. It was amazing how quickly the place filled up. The whole menu is filled with authentic Japanese foods and options you can even order Japanese wine or beer and of course sake. The staff were super helpful a Nd friendly and we felt so comfortable and at home even though this was our first visit. Make this a stop on your Cape Town list. Parking was on the street and a bit hard to find.

My friends and I loved the restaurant. When we got there, they were full, but they added our name on the list and called within 20 minutes and our table was ready. The vibe is really nice, and the staff were friendly. The food was really good and reasonably priced. I shared sushi with one of my friends, and we loved it. The others had ramen and they really enjoyed it, and the bite I tasted was really flavourful. I will definitely be back!

A real treat and always best for date nights! Been coming hear a few times and the service has always been great and food hot and tasty. Perfect for winter and summer days. Please note to come early and tip your friendly waiter.

The food was ok, but not special. The bao buns were a little bit dry and the buns came without a sauce, which made it boring. I also didn’t like the taste of the sushi as the sea weed was sweet, but that’s my preference! :)The cucumber salad and fish balls are very good! The service was very nice and kind :)

This is my go-to spot for the best ramen in Cape Town, without a doubt. I’ve been here plenty of times and their consistency is excellent - I’ve never had a bad experience here! The atmosphere of this spot is lovely; I love the chilled lofi beats that plays in the background (they’re always playing Nujabes which I enjoy), colourful and fun Dragon Ball Z artwork and comfortable seating. Having tried ramen at a few other spots, nothing comes close to Three Wise Monkeys. Their portions sizes are huge, which makes it well worth the price tag. Their ingredients are always fresh. Their broth is piping hot and flavourful. They also have so much ingredients in their ramen bowls compared to other spots! I honestly have no complaints other than I wish they had more branches. Parking can be a mission to find but that’s just Sea Point in general. If you haven’t tried them yet and you love ramen - I HIGHLY suggest you give them a go.

This place is a must. I have been here a few times, however, with my last visit I opted for the takeaway option. The quality of the food never disappoints, and the service is top notch. My recommendation will be the brisket ramen, it is soooo good😋. It has a trendy vibe, so if you do not mind the hustle and bustle, this place is worth the visit. I tend to mix my food, so please excuse my poor presentation skills. The plating at Three Wise Monkeys is so much better 😅.

A hugely popular place, evident by the 1 hour wait time and the fact that it was constantly busy even late into the night. There is a large selection of veggie options available ranging from sushi to bao buns, to tofu and to ramen. The ramen broth wasn't the most flavourful I have had but it was absolutely loaded with toppings. You can't book so I could suggest going early in the evening or then later at night past 9:30pm.
