Iceland: Must-visit Nordic hot spots - SilverKris

"An uncommon adventure that begins with a scenic three-kilometre walk through lava fields and culminates in a descent via an open-sided, elevator-style rig 120m into the empty magma chamber — visitors are outfitted with helmets and harnesses for a safe but thrilling look inside an extinct volcano." - SilverKris

You must walk through a lava field during 45 min ... with amazing panoramic views ... and then the " diving experience " into the volcano crater starts 🐺🦊 a family of artic foxes lives there and are used to be photo taken ... childs will enjoy it.

An amazing, once in a lifetime experience. I mean seriously, this is the only place in the world where you can actually descend into and explore an inactive volcano that erupted around the same time the pyramids in Egypt were being built, think of how insane that is! The staff are very friendly, knowledgeable and professional, you will feel in safe hands with them. Our father is slightly disabled and uses a cane to walk, and they accommodated us and helped him experience something he will remember forever, we are very grateful for that. The tour is expensive but it is worth every penny, if you do one thing in Iceland, I would recommend this.

Very unique experience that I don't think you can experience anywhere else. The colors are beautiful yellow, green, red, and purple.

Great experience. Truly a location like none other. From the refreshing hike to the lamb soup at the end the entire experience was fantastic. I've been in numerous caves but descending into the empty magma chamber was different than any other. If you enjoy moderate adventure or geology in the slightest this is a must visit.

Must do experience in iceland. Don't worry so much about waterfalls and make sure you visit this volcano. Friendly courteous staff, beautiful views, delicious soup, and of course it's amazingly cool to enter the only volcano of its kind in the world!

Once-in-a-lifetime experience. Just stand in awe and marvel this treasure. The guide was very nice and the little hut next to the volcano offers quite delicious soup. The hike was quite relaxed, the guide will tell you a lot anecdotes about the earth and Icelandic lifestyle.

Incredible experience to be able to go inside volcano. Note that you need to book a guided tour. Staff here are super friendly and take very good care of you. If you are in Iceland this is a must visit

Beautiful and well worth the money. As you propel down the hole you will see amazing colors and various layers of rock from when the volcano erupted. At the bottom you get to do a walk/hike around in a loop to view everything. The loop is climbing up and down sharp and difficult rocks to walk on and over. So be prepared for it. The experience is amazing and is a must do!
