Very charmimg medieval castle built in 12th century. From here you have magnificent view to the valley: the Moselle, Alken village and the steep hill with beautiful vineyards. The back is also a beautiful trail. They're only open from March to October

Castle is really nice, staff was a bit strange, didn’t seem like she wanted to let us enter the shop to buy tickets 😅 and wasn’t really friendly when asking additional questions. Regardless, I still recommend this castle as it’s quite the sight!

This is a beautiful old fortified castle, I recommend visiting it but mind that they only accept cash so be prepared - we had to come back the day after as we didn't have cash on us the first time there

Seems a bit small but contains a hidden gem. Climbing to the tower and having a breathtaking landscape of both the valley and forest is priceless. It was a small surprise finding some gothic statues or symbols around. Very kind host at the kiosk. There is a free small car park just in front of the castle.

Stopped randomly as we drove from the east towards Eltz castle. Absolutely worth a stop! Entrance fee was minimal and an amazing view the entire self guided tour. Castle was bombed in WW2 but lots of parts are still standing and they had a few areas that we thought were unique to see in a castle. We stayed about 40 min with kids under 9 and they loved it due to the torture part with real human bones and getting to climb the tower to the top. Views are phenomenal. Hike up looks stout. We were lazy and parked right up top, about 15-20 spots up there. Ice cream for sale. Bathrooms. A great little stop!! And the village below is absolutely charming and beautiful! .

Friendly managers, a castle you can just relax and explore and sit in. Many quiet spots with both history and a view. Beautiful gardens. Mind the tight one lane driveway and squeezy parking.

This castle complex is the most beautiful I have ever seen. The gardens are beautifully planted. The castle is quite winding, which makes exploring even more interesting. The view is brilliant. There is a lot to see and a lot to read about the history. What a great trip!!
