The Best Markets in Mexico City for Souvenirs, Street Snacks, and Ceramics | Condé Nast Traveler

"Not just an open-air Hot Topic, this market became my go-to spot for counter-culture: dozens of vendors sell clothing, souvenirs, ‘zines, CDs, and records for darks, emos, punks, rock n' rollers, and metaleros, and there are often live music shows on a small stage while people hawk vegan tortas and make their own clothing and magazines. I found the market’s energy very DIY and vibrant; it started in the ’80s as a meeting point for alternative youth and music cultures and is held every Saturday on Calle Juan Aldama (east of the Buenavista train station) from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m." - Scarlett Lindeman, Lauren Stroh

A very unique open air market, catering to alternative taste. You can find anything goth, punk, metal from media such as cassettes, CDs, vynil albums, clothing, shoes, accessories, vintage clothing and many other items, there was live music, the crowd had a good vibe and all were very friendly.

One of my favorite places in CDMX. Lots of music stuff, a stage, all sorts of people, all sorts of clothing. Felt pretty safe. Great food vendors. Some places will try to rip you off, others will be fine. Just like any part of CDMX.

Wow. Very busy and so unique. Be ready for the crowds but enjoy the market and the fun experience. Everyone welcome, but definitely has a punk rock kind of vibe.

Super cool saturday flea market with live music and all kinds of anarachist books, second hand records, cds, rocker clothing, and general cool vibes. Highly recommend.

The market is enormous, so much cool stuff, jackets, concert shirts, cool clothes, vinyl records, live music, patches... for hours. Very chill scene, although it got quite busy as the afternoon wore on. Cant wait to go back.

A MUST visit spot for any metalhead/goth/punk alternative people! Held every Saturday near the Library with a long street of vendors selling clothing, band tees, smoking accessories, jewelry, purses and bags. Some stalls take card payments but preferably BRING CASH. Bands will usually be playing on stage and there’s street musicians near the entrance rocking out on their guitars.

What can I say about this place that someone else has not said. We were lucky to see a few bands perform and at the end the crowd decided to go into a mosh pit. If this is your first time visiting this famous Rock and Roll market be ready bathrooms are limited, tons of snacks, drinks and food to be had. There is lots of vinyl, cassettes and gear. If you are a Rock fan this should be a bucket list type of destination...
