Just had our 4th stay at Tickle Pink and wouldn’t stay anywhere else. I can’t say enough about this place….the friendly staff, the comfy beds, the champagne and chocolates at check-in and most of all, the amazing views. Each morning there is breakfast with thick ham slices, crispy bacon, potatoes, egg bites. Pastries include bagels, english muffins, granola, yogurt, danish, muffins, a variety of juices and coffee and tea. Each afternoon there is wine (reds, whites, and some non-alcoholic choices) with cheese, crackers, grapes. Both are served in a beautiful room with floor to ceiling glass windows with a couple of firepits. As others have mentioned, parking here is tight. People tend to eat earlier in Carmel and we eat late so often when we got back around 10p - we got the last spot. One a few occasions there were no spots but the staff would either move their car or tell us to park in one of the handicapped spots - in other words - don’t worry about this. They will get you a space. It’s a 5-10 minute drive to downtown Carmel but well worth the trade off for the amazing view. My only “complaint” (and it’s a small one) is I wish they would have screens on the sliding doors to the balcony. I like to leave it cracked to hear the ocean and I occasionally have to swat out a mosquito or see a bird get dangerously close to visiting.

My Husband and I really enjoyed this hotel. I am not one to write reviews so you know it was nice. This is a boutique hotel from an era gone by.......There is a wine and cheese hour everyday and a hearty breakfast buffet with ham, bacon, pastries, yogurt and fruit every morning included! We stayed in room 9 and the view of the cove was amazing......I feel room 31/34 would have had the best of the best view up the coastline but did not go in so can't say for sure. Just FYI there is no A/C in the rooms--we were there during a weird hot day (80s in Nov) and it was super warm. The hotel offered to come and bring a portable A/C unit.......but I knew it would cool down after sunset.....the management was there for any little issue you have. Was easy to go into town for dinner etc. Hope you get to enjoy this gem of a place

Charming stay. Lovely staff. Great views. Only Major issue was the parking which is awful. Most guests were using uber to restaurants since your car is trapped. Other comment is the breakfast lacked. Every morning it was the same food…egg quiche ( not so tasty ) same bread, yogurt. Just whole banana,Oranges or apples every day. Same danish. Wine happy hour is nice but cheese every evening was the same. When you sty 4-5 nights you want variety considering room was over $500 per night. |Hotel rooms, bathrooms can use a touch up , a bit dated but still was charming ad very clean.

We stayed at Tickle Pink Inn for our honeymoon, and it was absolutely perfect! The staff was so kind and attentive, welcoming us with champagne upon arrival and making us feel celebrated. Our room had an incredible view of the ocean, and everything about the inn created a romantic and relaxing atmosphere. Each afternoon we enjoyed the wine and cheese pairing, and the breakfast each morning was delicious—especially since it could be delivered right to our room. The bed was very comfortable, and we loved the cozy robes and slippers. The property also has a spa overlooking the ocean, firepits, and plenty of spots to sit, sip wine, and take in the views. They even had a nice gym on site, so everything we needed was right there. Tickle Pink Inn made our honeymoon unforgettable, and we couldn’t recommend it more for a romantic getaway!

I can’t say enough about the Tickle Pink Inn. We had a lovely and spacious room (deluxe suite 34) which had absolutely breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean. Honestly, no other place we’ve stayed tops that view. The staff was very friendly and completely accommodating with any of our special requests. The bonuses were the afternoon chocolate chip cookies, welcome bottle of champagne, the happy hour from 4:30-6, which included cheeses and nibbles, and the more-than-anticipated breakfast of little egg bites, bacon, ham, potatoes, a selection of breads, and much more. Both are complementary and held in the terrace lounge, complete with indoor and outdoor fire pits overlooking the ocean. I’m hoping to plan a return trip to Tickle Pink and Carmel in the future.

My partner and I just returned from an extended weekend getaway to Carmel Highlands and stayed at Tickle Pink Inn. Every aspect of our experience at this property was wonderful. From the moment we checked in with the attentive and friendly front desk staff, to our last evening spending time on the outdoor deck/terrace - we received excellent, personalized service. The views are spectacular and we love that the hotel is off the beaten path - yet a short drive to the downtown Carmel by the Sea shops and restaurants. A special shout out to Mr. Martinez for helping make our anniversary evening by the fire so lovely. We look forward to returning!

Located in the shadows of Highlands Inn The Tickle Pink Inn is a charming and quaint inn (motel). The view from all the rooms are beautiful captures of the Monterey coast - they are very welcoming in - a bottle of sparkling wine and chocolate truffles were delievred to our room - complimentary. There is a wine and cheese tasting at 4:30 and complimentary breakfast - more than just the standard continental or make it yourself waffles. |Parking in very tight and some of the staff was very sensitive to our group speaking too loud at 9:15pm - "It's bed time!" But this was an exception to an outwise charming visit and Debbie was especially welcoming and gracious.|I would deffinitely go back - maybe just a little more quiet.

We have been coming here for 10 years now. We've stayed in different rooms every time. We love the rooms 31-33 We recently stayed in 21 and saw the view with a different perspective and it was lovely:) We love putting our order in the night before to have it delivered in the morning. I love the new breakfast / wine and cheese room, its fantastic, we also really enjoyed the new spa overlooking the beautiful coast. We travel a lot...but we really love to unwind here and we will always come back! Love us some Tickle Pink!!!!

Yelp
We visited in April 2025 to enjoy Point Lobos State Park and enjoyed many elements of our stay. Daily happy hour: 10/10 with decent wine, nibbles and amazing views with tables and firepits available. Daily breakfast: 10/10 with a nice variety of hot dishes, breads, cereals, fruit, and yogurt. Room #19: the views from balcony were amazing (you can see Bird Island in the park to the far right) and the room is large but the decor is dated and could really use a refresh or just the cosmetic stuff. Location/parking: the location is super close to Point Lobos and not far from Carmel. But parking is limited and a few mornings staff had to move their vehicles so we could get out. It is next to the Hyatt Highlands so drive up and then past that and you'll see the tiny road going to TPI on the left. Service: Great! They accommodated everything we asked for and did so with a smile. The place has an interesting history around Senator Tickle and his wife. And it is unique. I would go back and try another room as the views of the rooms facing south have even better views of the cove than we had facing West.

Yelp
We have been coming here for years as our little getaway. Even though the price is on the higher side, considering all the additional perks that they include with evening wine and cheese, breakfast and welcome bottle, I think it's well worth it. The Hyatt property which is located right next to it has a much higher room rate without any of the added perks. The rooms are on the older side but they've done a pretty good job upkeeping it and they are slowly making renovations to the place ~ last time we visited they were adding an elevator and remodeling the outdoor patio seating area.

Yelp
I randomly bought aThree day stay as a Christmas present for my wife. I did so good my wife loved it! The view was beautiful, wine tasting and cheese every late afternoon, we sat in the hot tub and watched at least 50 wales blow hole in front of us . We were treated to a bottle of bubbly when we arrived! So romantic! Secluded rooms fireplaces ( real oak wood) . When you picture a cliffside Carmel romantic getaway' this is exactly what you want! Great food nearby, the Pacific edge restaurant is a few hundred feet away down the hill. Carmel by the sea lots of chocolate and shops, restaurants and pubs! Did I mention the beaches!! If you love history the mission is a great place to visit. What a beautiful place! And thank you for the great service and memories!

Yelp
This. Place. Rules. The rooms? Incredibly comfortable, sparkling clean, filled with amenities, surrounded by stunning views. The staff? Second to none. Kind. Accommodating. Always on top of things. They are all wonderful. The vibes? The best. As I said, the most beautiful views of Carmel; an incredible, FREE wine and cheese shindig every evening; free champagne and chocolates upon arrival. My girlfriend and I? Will be back.

Yelp
One of the best Inns that we've stayed at. Awesome staff who go above and beyond. Warm freshly baked cookies in the lobby everyday at 3pm. You must hit the wine and cheese hour at 4:30. The welcome gift of champagne was also a great touch. Each room was equipped with a sound machine and fan, something that I have not seen at all elsewhere. Each morning they hand deliver you the newspaper and have one of the best continental breakfasts that I've had. Stunning views, warm hot tub. No complaints here.

Yelp
We absolutely loved this boutique hotel. I wish we booked more time to actually enjoy more of the amenities. They spoiled you with the little things; champagne upon arrival, fresh chocolate chip cookies, wine and cheese hour and the views! We stayed in room 21 and liked the view but would pay extra to have a better one. We chose to have breakfast on our balcony but if you can wake up right when it starts, i would go to the fireplace in the terrace and enjoy breakfast there. They also have 2 hot tubs to enjoy. We i

Yelp
Tickle Pink is a hidden gem in the Carmel Highlands!! The rooms, the atmosphere, and the overall experience are magnificent and luxurious! The views of the Pacific Ocean are breathtaking! From check-in to check-out, the experience was top-notch! I have stayed at Tickle Pink about four times and each time has been a 5-star experience. However, during this last visit a couple weeks ago, there were a few things that were different. Tickle Pink has a really nice wine reception from 4-6pm, where you can drink wine and snack on cheeses and crackers. This use to be on their outside deck, however, the deck was being remodeled and the whole area was closed. The staff brought wine and a plate of cheese and crackers to the room instead. What's great about that is that you can enjoy the wine in the privacy of your own porch or room. With the breakfast area closed as well, the staff delivers the food during the time slot you select. There was a menu given during check in, and you select what you want for breakfast. It's different than the usual buffet style in the dining area, but it was nice to have breakfast in bed! Tickle Pink Inn is absolutely beautiful and the best part of staying here is the sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean. You can relax on the porch or even in the room, in bed, and see the magnificent ocean views. The room had a fireplace and it was so cozy with the fire lit at night. We received a nice bottle of champagne to welcome us, as well as some chocolates, and cookies at check-in. I loved the pink color theme and all the lovely touches that were added, like roses with breakfast and wine, and the robe and slippers in the room. Tickle Pink is definitely THE place to stay if you want a beautiful, luxurious, relaxing getaway.

Yelp
This magical place where we have celebrated our anniversary a number of times continues to be an all-time favorite. The spectacular views are breathtaking, the amenities and service are outstanding. Happy hour and breakfast on the Terrace provided delicious choices. For our 58th wedding anniversary, the staff sent champagne, chocolates and a beautiful rose and take home vase. Special thanks to the staff, Kristy, Ann and others who made our stay Pleasant and personal. We especially appreciated their contacting us about some construction issue and their offer to change our room.

Yelp
You guys! This continues to be one of my favorite places. It really feels like our little escape from home when we want to get away. The breakfast is delicious (can get it room serviced at no extra fee), the wine & cheese in the evening is great, the welcome champagne and chocolates, I mean, who doesn't love all of this? Their wine & cheese reception is from 430pm-6pm. We've learned if we want to enjoy this in the moment and still have room for a full dinner (app, entree, dessert), then our dinner reservations need to be around 7pm. Or we just get a plate and put it in our fridge for a late night snack :) We were there for 3 nights and I told my husband that I just wanted 1 day to stay-in and enjoy the room the whole day. Enjoy the fireplace, enjoy the terrace and the views. The only time we left the room was to go to dinner :) We called for more firewood and the staff was so kind in bringing it to us, and not just to the door, they came into the room to set it down by the fireplace. The same for breakfast every morning. We switched rooms after the first night. All we had to do was set our stuff by the door and enjoy the day while they took care of moving everything to our new room. I've stayed at other places where they do not do this and make you interrupt your vacation to return to the hotel and get checked-in again and move your own things. We will continue coming here because it's so relaxing and beautiful. I highly recommend getting a deluxe ocean view suite. Just to sit out there with your wine & cheese, or even have breakfast is sooo nice. Side Note: This was our 3rd visit. This place is really romantic and it's designed more for couples than families. In our 3 visits, I saw children twice. So it's rare to see children here. One of the evenings we enjoyed the wine & cheese reception out on their deck. It was just us but then a couple families arrived together with their rowdy children, maybe 8-10 people total. Even though they were in the reception room, we could still hear them on the deck. They all knew each other so it was extra loud. Kids are kids and aren't always well behaved, so it was really annoying how loud they were being when we were just trying to enjoy some peace and quiet. It deterred us from staying there longer. We had to get ready for dinner anyways so we just went back to our room. Please don't bring your children here if they're not going to behave. It's rude to the other guests trying to enjoy their stay.

Yelp
This was the most romantic, serene, beautiful hotel we have ever had the pleasure of visiting. Top notch service, kind and helpful staff. Married yesterday on Ribera Beach, spent 3 nights here. Don't miss it! Suite views of ocean and lovely in suite jacuzzi tub and fireplace. We can't wait to return on every anniversary

Gabriella M.

Yelp
The property is beautiful and the amenities are great as others have mentioned. My one complaint is the bed. They are extremely springy and feel old. I would have definitely expected something more comfortable at this price point. Aside from that, everything was excellent but may not return due to the bed.

Yelp
Our stay at the Tickle Pink Inn was phenomenal. This gem is located off the beaten path and high above US Highway 1, offering amazing views! What a great place to relax, enjoy wine (great wine and cheese reception every night), listen to the sound of the waves and just chill out. This quiet retreat was just what we needed. When we wanted to grab some dinner, we just drove 15 minutes into town - no big deal. This was a great location for us to enjoy and use as a home base when we wanted to explore nearby Pt Lobos State Park, Big Sur, and Monterey. The Tickle Pink Inn also took great care to welcome us with special touches, from a daily newspaper, to daily cookies, champagne and chocolates upon our arrival, daily breakfast, and firewood so we could make a fire in the room. They also have a newly refurbished deck and jacuzzi where you can enjoy the amazing views. Both staff and visitors were extremely friendly. We look forward to returning to the Tickle Pink Inn!

Erika S.

Yelp
This place is so cozy, and the views are stunning! We stayed in room 24, which had a jacuzzi bathtub and an ocean view. The amenities are great, the complimentary wine and cheese and breakfast was so appreciated. I can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Our favorite happy place. Special attention to detail makes this a must visit. It's not the contemporary property that some folks like but rather a kinda throwback to a wonderful and memorable place to stay. From fresh baked chocolate chip cookies, to magnificent ocean and cove views, to wine and cheese afternoons, great continental breakfast in Your room or on the terrace, and accommodating staff. We will definitely return.

Yelp
Visiting the Tickle Pink was a fantastic experience all the way around. From booking my wedding family for 2 nights, 3 nights, babies etc etc, they were the best. The views from the rooms are absolutely breathtaking, the breakfast spread was fantastic, and we kept forgetting about the wine and cheese but I'm sure that would have been awesome as well. I can't wait to return!

Yelp
My wife & I were married six years ago at the Highlands just down the hill from Tickle Pink. Several of our wedding guests raved about it when they stayed for our wedding. We finally were able to experience it & it sure didn't disappoint. Incredible views of the Big Sur coastline. The rooms have so much character & charm. So many special touches during the stay. Champagne & chocolates delivered to your room after check-in, deluxe in-room breakfast served the following morning, & bottomless firewood! We are already looking forward to our next stay to celebrate another year!

Yelp
This is a beautiful inn and I'm really glad to have stayed here. Upon arrival there was some champagne and charcuterie in the room, which were just what was needed after a long drive. The room was cute and comfortable. It was also pretty spacious. The living room area was separate from the bedroom. The views from all parts of the inn and from the room were amazing. From the room I could see the sea from the window. The area where breakfast is served also has a lovely view of the water. Walking around, there is a lot of greenery and nature to admire. I had a wonderful stay here and would definitely come back.

Yelp
Just. Stay. Here. If a photo is worth a million pixels and a thousand words then see the accompanying photos. And in an age of corporate pain in the ass nickel diming, consider these appreciated offerings: Self parking. No forced valet. Wall Street Journal delivered to your door. Real wood in room fireplaces they trust you to manage without signing a waiver. Friendly staff Complimentary bottled water. Complimentary robes and slippers Sound system in room Champagne, chocolate and a rose at check in Wine and cheese reception in the evening Delicious breakfast every morning. Delivered to your room if you'd like. Try the cherry danish. And no surcharges on the most amazing views in Carmel.

Yelp
So in love with this dreamland like property :) such a fantastic location and an even better ambiance and friendly service. Its the perfect luxurious weekend getaway if u are in the bay area. Its expensive but so worth it and memorable. Its perfect to celebrate a special event like anniversary/ birthday etc. They have so many options in views / room size/ fire place or not/ jaccuzzi or not. The room charges include complimentary and yummy breakfast. U have an option to have it delivered to u at your room or go downstairs and dine there in person. They also have an evenkng wine and cheese gathering which is complimentary and fun. The staff is really friendly and the view is amazing. Loved their desserts and complimentary champagne too :)

Yelp
We have been visiting this inn together for many years, and it boasts some of the best views of the California coast. We have stayed in many charming suites with breathtaking balcony views looking south towards the Big Sur coasts. We appreciate the beauty of every season, as California has such temperate weather. The inn is located on prime real estate in the Carmel Highlands. We enjoy the complimentary champagne delivery once checked in, the continental breakfast, the wine and cheese reception, and the hot tub, which are convenient when we want to stay in. However, over the years, we have noticed that the rooms and common areas have become noticeably worn down and could use a facelift and deep cleaning. The inn was once a hidden gem, but now it is always fully booked with a crowded parking lot and increased noise levels. We have also noticed more frequent staff changes, from reception and ground keepers to the kitchen and room service. Despite the changes, we stayed here for Valentine's Day instead of driving two hours further to the Ritz. During our visit, the inn was undergoing construction repairs, and the common areas and dining room were being affected by the ongoing work, causing noise and traffic. We also noticed an influx of newer and louder guests over the past years who seem unaware of how thin the walls, ceilings, and stairs are. Breakfast, wine, and cheese were delivered to the room only, and unfortunately, we noticed some previous options were left out. Even our room toiletry items were also shorter. Sadly, we felt the room was too quickly turned over to where stains throughout it and its bathroom were more apparent than before. As always, we always try to reserve our favorite rooms with excellent views from our balcony and make the best of our time. We come here mainly for the view and to enjoy a lovely and magical escape. However, we may not return as frequently as we used to until the dust has settled and the noise levels have improved. The view: 5 stars Hospitality and amenities: 4 stars Housekeeping: 3 stars

Yelp
tl;dr Cute & Charming hotel overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Close by to Carmel-by-the-Sea (10min) and Point Lobos (5min). TPI is a super cute hotel alongside Highway 1 and a popular hotel especially for couples. Getting to the hotel requires going up a steep, narrow, road so I recommend taking a smaller car if you have the option. The decor probably hasn't changed in decades, but adds to the overall charm. Don't expect the modern feel of a Ventana or Post Ranch Inn. Despite this, it's a great place to get some relaxation, while enjoying amazing coastal views. When making a reservation, you will actually select which room you would like to book. Each room has a very different set-up so make sure to read the description and look at the pictures before booking. We stayed in Rm 24, which was great and probably the best room at that price point. Location was nice and private. However, you will need to bring luggage down and then up a flight of stairs (No elevator) so keep that in mind. The room itself was on the older side, but clean. They provide a fridge, coffee maker and have a white noise maker. There is a large soaking jacuzzi tub big enough for two people. The bathrobes were very comfortable. There are 2 chairs outside with nice, slightly obstructed views of the water. The TV has a lot of channels and they have a variety of classic movies available at the front desk. They offer a bottle of complimentary champagne on day of arrival, which was a nice touch and they have freshly baked cookies at the front desk in the afternoon. They have a nice complimentary breakfast (7:30-10am) and you can actually request it to be brought to your room, which is a nice touch. They have a variety of wine & cheese available for 4:30-6pm. They have a small outdoor jacuzzi that anyone can use, but probably only fits 4-6 people comfortably. Pro Tip: Internet is spotty in the address so I recommend downloading offline maps beforehand as the street turn from the Highway 1 can be easy to miss at night. Overall, I would recommend TPI if you are looking for a nice getaway especially for couples.

Yelp
Wow. Just wow. This was one of the best experiences we have had at a hotel ever. We stayed in room 10, which was beautiful throughout and had a breathtaking view of the coast. The room was $459 and included a free bottle of wine, free buffet breakfast delivered to our room, cookies upon check-in, free water bottles, and a complimentary wine and cheese reception in the afternoon. Insane value at the expense of absolutely nothing. This place is perfect. We were deciding between here and the Hyatt next door and this was basically half the price... so so worth staying here. We did walk over to the Hyatt for dinner and that was incredible (see my review). Overall a very strong 5/5 Water pressure rating: 4/10 (the only negative) :(

Yelp
Tickle Pink Inn is a cozy, beautiful getaway spot in the Carmel Highlands. We visited here for our wedding anniversary and did not regret it! Before you even arrive, note that the road to this inn is slightly windy. And it'll be windier on the driveway up! There is ONE entrance for multiple locations, including Highlands Inn Carmel and Tickle Pink Inn. Once you turn into the driveway, just follow the signs for Tickle Pink Inn and pass Highlands Inn. The parking lot for Tickle Pink will be at the very end. It's a narrow space, so we opted to back into the spots whenever we returned to the lot. When we checked in, we were greeted with a tray of champagne, set of unique truffles, and a celebratory note about our anniversary. It was such a wonderful touch! We had some champagne (comes with a free champagne stopper) and truffles every night haha. Other amenities includes late afternoon wine and cheese as well as a continental breakfast in their lounge area. You can opt to have breakfast delivered to your room at no extra cost, which we enjoyed to avoid the crowd and take our time in the morning. The service for both room service and front desk were pleasant and friendly. The location of this inn is fantastic. It is very close to Downtown Carmel, Point Lobos, and just a short drive away to Monterey and Pacific Grove. Oh, and did I mention the ocean views?? This was one of the primary reasons for booking at this location and it did not disappoint. Sunset ocean views at night and waking up to the sparkling water in the morning was divine. Cons: 1. When we went, the lounge was partially under construction as well as some nearby rooms. Not all areas were accessible and the hot tub was not available for use. 2. As comfy as our bed was in our room, the room itself needed some work. Nothing was dirty, but there was a "I wish this was repaired or updated" feel to the room. There were random holes in the walls, stains on the floor, as well as the seating that needed some updating (reminded me of 30 year old chairs from my mother's home). 3. The towels were rough and thin. They were like sandpaper, haha! 4. The walls were thin. I KNOW the person staying above us wasn't a giant monster. But I could hear every step and every time they opened and closed their sliding door. With that being said, I understand that they do have construction still going on. So my hopes is that these issues will be addressed and that the rooms will also be improved upon. Otherwise, the other cons I listed could be overlooked. We will definitely be back for another stay!

Yelp
Had a wonderful time staying here, my husband surprised me for our anniversary 29 th years and I was so surprised at the beautiful view. The staff was amazing was very welcoming to there. I recommend this place if you want to getaway for a weekend. Or to celebrate your anniversary. Thank you to the whole staff making it one of the best experiences I have had.

Yelp
A delightful hotel with interesting room and views. A unique hotel and .ost with fireplaces. Nice wine and cheese.

Yelp
This motel made me feel depressed and claustrophobic. It's very rundown, and it seemed like the dated furnishings were 50 years old. The towels were so thin and frayed that they reminded me of old gym towels. The bed was uncomfortable. The shower had almost no water pressure, and I could not control the temperature. I had to switch rooms (from room 17 to room 9) close to 10 o'clock at night because the power went out in my room. That's because the room was cold, so we had to put in a space heater, and when I went to make some coffee it blew a fuse. The room they moved me to had clearly been refurbished more recently, so it was less depressing--But the view was worse (see pic). Also sad is that when you sit on your balcony, your view is obscured by these thick rust-colored railings. So you essentially can't hang out on your balcony and enjoy the view. The wine and cheese in the evening was very nice. The first night it was very cold on the bar deck because only one heat lamp was working. Also, the hot tub was closed the first night because it wasn't working. There's no restaurant on site, and the closest restaurant--which is a short walk--serves a few bar menu items. So you have to drive 20 minutes into Carmel to get dinner. The best way to describe this place is lipstick on a pig. They give you sparkling wine, chocolate, cookies in the afternoon, wine and cheese in the evening, and mediocre continental breakfast. So lots of amenities. But I would much rather they gut the place and make it nice and new than offer these small amenities. The people who worked there were very nice. Jose went out of his way to try to make me happy with my first room. The staff tried to make up for my dissatisfaction with my room, and I appreciated that.

Yelp
From the moment we got there until the moment we left, we had a fabulous time here, I give it a 10 on a scale of one to five, everyone we had contact with was fantastic all the way down to Ignacio the manager of the facility, he was very nice and was willing to hear our suggestions! What a fabulous stay! Will be back great place and what a great view from our room!

Yelp
My husband and I recently spent a long weekend at Tickle Pink on the basis of a recommendation from a stranger. (Hey, we took a risk!) We had a very pleasant time. For better or for worse, this hotel is not in the center of Carmel by-the-sea, which gives it a more remote feel but does mean you'll be driving most places you want to go during the day. That being said, you definitely get some of those lovely ocean views. While we had one of the smallest rooms - still a pretty penny - we did have an ocean view we could enjoy on our mostly-private balcony (room 24). Some of the nicest views are actually seen from the communal terrace area, where you will have your complimentary breakfast and free wine and cheese afternoon event. (Great perks! And pretty nice food and drink served!) Other nice perks included a welcome bottle of champagne and chocolates as well as the option to get your breakfast served in your room. The bathroom didn't have a fan, and I don't love the waterfall shower. However, the jacuzzi was definitely great for relaxing. The room also came equipped with a "sleep sound system," which offered about 10 different sounds to help you get to sleep. Parking is tight. There does seem to be a spot for every single room, but with big cars these days, every time we tried to park, it felt not totally straight forward. Oh, and the afternoon cookies! Don't forget the cookies at the front desk!

Yelp
Very nice setting for sure. For us, the dated decor didn't match the premium price for a room. You can see photos for yourself--perhaps this is exactly what you are looking for. For us, the print draperies and gold bathroom fixtures screamed grandma.

Yelp
Celebrated my girlfriends 23rd birthday at The Tinkle Pink Inn, room 30. The room is very spacious and has a Jacuzzi; which is a very nice touch to the room. The hotel offers a 100 movies and some classics as well such as "Casablanca", "West Side Story", and "The Sound of Music", among many more. We rented "Due Date, The Proposal and lastly, A Star is Born". The room has a fire place and two logs that last for three hours, all you do is throw the fire log in and light the paper it's already inside the fireplace and it's good to go. The room also has a small fridge that gets really cold, a sink as well. The breakfast offers orange juice, grape fruit juice, tomato juice and cranberry juice, regular bagels, raisin bagels with cream cheese, ham, sausage, cottage cheese, bread, bananas, oranges, apples, tea, strawberry's, and a lot more. The only downside we didn't like was, when you walk out to the balcony or open up the sliding door, it's loud. And the reason for it being loud, is because there's a street right below, so you hear the cars driving by. Other than that, it's a beautiful place to stay. It's enchanting. We will definitely be returning in the nearby future for one of her next birthday. P.S. she really liked the bath robes there, so five months later after we left. I ordered a bathrobe from there for Christmas 2019 and she loved it! High quality bath robes!

Yelp
My husband and I loved this hotel! The bed was SO comfy, one of the comfiest beds I've ever slept in! The room was so cute with a spectacular view! We enjoyed the hot tub and the beautiful greenery around it. So many special touches offered by this hotel including welcome cookies and a cheese and wine reception in the evening! It was our honeymoon and the staff sent us a bottle of champagne and chocolate to our room which was such a sweet addition to our stay! We definitely plan to come back to this hotel!

Yelp
Wonderful setting overlooking the ocean. Enjoyed the fresh baked cookies at the reception. Includes champagne and chocolates brought to the room. Excellent happy hour wine and cheese on a beautiful veranda. Full breakfast included. Very special.

Yelp
It's hard to put into words the enjoyment Tickle Pink Inn brought! The pictures say it all..... the personalized service. The amenities! We were married at the Highlands Inn when they had wood burning fireplaces and now that Hyatt has taken over. We no longer can stay there. There is no service. There's nothing that's personalized and the rooms all of them , that's townhomes regular rooms any room the balconies are falling apart. This was our first time at the Tickle Pink Inn, and it won't be our last.

Yelp
We come here every year, usually the service and people are outstanding. Not so much this time. Check in is at 3:00 PM. We arrived a little after 3:00 and was told our room was one of two that wasn't ready. Took 45 minutes for the room to clean. They usually offer a glass of wine while we waited in the past but this time we were told that we could wait in the newly renovated atrium. After 45 minutes they finally came and gave us the keys to the room. The room was clean there was no fire wood in the room so I made a couple of trips to get some. The matches were depleted so I made another trip to get matches. For a hotel that charges well over $500 a night attention to detail and a little extra customer service would have been nice. In the past when our room wasn't ready they did offer complimentary beverages but I guess they are cutting cost. Oh well it is what it is. Oh by the way they did away with the television in the main room and only one in the bedroom hmmmm maybe another cost cutting measure.

Yelp
If you want to have a romantic get away I would totally recommend this hidden gem. The view is spectacular and the staff are very nice and customer oriented. You won't be sorry.

Yelp
Our favorite place to stay in Carmel. I could sit on my patio and watch that view all day. Rooms are so cozy and thoughtfully appointed, the staff is amazing, and the wine and cheese and the freshly baked chocolate chip cookies are wonderful. We look forward to returning every year we can!!

Yelp
Our one year weeding anniversary was carefully planned with every detail. We luckily came across this hotel and booked the beautiful #23 ocean front suite. As my husband quoted "they think of everything" It is very true that once you stay here, you will always come back. The views, the vibe, the breakfast and the sunset wine & cheese. This was an experience that we will share. Thank you Tracy for greeting us with a smile at 10:30 pm after a long flight from Florida. You made us feel like we were "home"

Yelp
A must "sea"! Beautiful sunsets from the lounge overlooking waves crashing into jagged rocks while having complementary wine & cheese. The Continental Breakfast was more than the usual bed & breakfast Inn's usually serve, it too is served overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

Yelp
Recently celebrated 2nd anniversary here. Beautiful property in Carmel Highlands. You'll feel pampered! Attention to detail, wonderful staff! Breakfast, wine & cheese reception plentiful. Tucked away off Highway 1 feels worlds away from civilization. Peaceful retreat. Nearby Point Lobos or Carmel Valley just completes the perfect get away. Definitely recommend and hope to return again soon!

Yelp
This is not a review of the inn or service. It seems lovely. I am simply very sick and tired of asking about ADA rooms with roll-in showers and discovering that the only available room is the high-end suite costing several hundred dollars more than others. ADA should get busy on this.

Yelp
If you ever get a chance to visit Carmel-by-the-Sea, do not hesitate, book with Tickle Pink. You shouldn't need to read this review further; it was our first time visiting and we are already planning your next stays! Our suite felt like home; wood burning fireplace, private jacuzzi tub, impeccable views from every angle; romantic/serene location. Words cannot express the appreciation we have for the entire staff at Tickle Pink. From our booking to returning the keys, every experience we had was personable, world class, and aboveboard.

Yelp
Such a lovely, magical place. Hubs and I have always loved the Monterey/Carmel by the Sea area, but had never stayed at The Tickle Pink Inn. After much research we chose this hotel and so glad we did! We checked into Suite 4 and it was an Oceanview Suite. It had a separate living room with a real wood burning fireplace, 2 refrigerators, microwave and wet bar. The deck was huge and had magnificent ocean views. Upon check in chocolates and sparkling wine with roses arrive at your room. A very nice touch. The hotel offers a continental breakfast on the terrace every morning but does include meat and eggs. Also, every evening there is a wine and cheese reception on the terrace which was very lovely. The staff were all friendly and helpful. You can get free DVD's from the office, and Hubby and I enjoyed that very much, Hubby would build a cozy fire every night, we would open a bottle of wine and snuggle watching classic movies. Very romantic. Linens were very nice and the bed comfortable. The bath wasn't large, but very clean and nicely appointed. If you are looking for exciting night life or a party hotel, this is not for you. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to families with small children either. This hotel is geared towards couples, most were older, like Hubby and I, but I think younger couples, with romance in mind :) would enjoy it to. It's about 10 minutes from downtown Carmel. Hubby and I took Uber into Carmel at night (never drink and drive friends!) and never had any trouble getting an Uber into Carmel. This is a very quiet, peaceful, romantic place and we hope to return.

Yelp
Tickle Pink is kind of Old School Boujee Done Well. The extra pillows in the closet are each in their own custom Tickle Pink cloth protective sleeve, the newspaper in the morning (already a nice touch) comes in a similar cloth and gold rope protective sleeve. It's a little over-the-top... but fun. The robes, the slippers all feel clean and like you'd actually use them. A lot of hotels have given up on carpeting because it gets so grungy but the carpet here is super padded and about as clean as hotel carpeting can get. My wife had mentioned that we stayed there once before on a semi-honeymoon trip we had taken up the coast and there was a bottle of champagne in an ice bucket waiting for us. We didn't try the (free) wine and cheese action that they have on the lower deck but it was nice to know we could have gotten a quick bite and a buzz if needed. The breakfast in the morning was much better than your average "free breakfast"... ham and (good) frittata, potatoes, bacon, yogurt, etc... all nicely done. Any small downsides? The bathroom light is on a motion detector and there may be a way to deactivate it but when you are trying to do a quick and stealthy pee in the middle of the night, you get blinded and woken. And the whole bathroom configuration... toilet/shower is private but the mirror/sink is not and kind of wedged in tight with the coffeemaker. Many places (if your lucky enough or pay enough to get a bathtub) have roomy soaking tubs... we were in (I think) a junior suite and the tub was not worth taking a soak in. But, for the most part, they did everything right... the fireplace was ready to light, the asked-for view was pretty good, the staff all friendly, the people at the front desk very on it.

Yelp
Older hotel (really motel or roadside inn ((don't read anything negative into that, just commenting on the design)) that was built on the side of a mountain) with fantastic views. Our room was on the corner with a very spacious (for two people) balcony looking straight down onto the Pacific. They serve you breakfast so you can enjoy it on the balcony and feed the seagulls, who have their begging down to a science. While we were in the area, we spent more time there, on the balcony, drinking good California wine, enjoying the sunrise and sunset, than any other place. We took a thousand pictures Highly enjoyable!

Yelp
Wonderful place to stay. Beautiful grounds. Great customer service. Very romantic get away. The Inn is located on the coast so the TV is not reliable. Also I could text out but I could not call out. That is the area. We had a fireplace that burned wood. The inn supplied the wood at no cost. We will be back.
