Prepares everything in-house, from the famous Boar Poutine, right down to the ketchup. And if that’s not enough, you might want to try their very own uniquely Canadian take on tiramisu, the “Beeramisu.”

Google
The Tide & Boar Gastropub has been in operation for a few years, service is stellar and food is top notch! If you are looking for a great selection on locally brewed drinks or food, be sure to give them a visit. We have been a customer for a while and felt it was time to give them a review. In our recent visit, we ordered three appetizers and two main courses. We ordered the scotch egg, this is a great validation of the kitchen’s execution experience, the end product should have a runny yolk. The scotch egg was prepared to perfection and the jam and greens that came with the dish were a match made in heaven. The muscles were cooked in a wonderful red sauce that was finger licking good! The Brussel sprouts were caramelized and had wonderful sweet taste to them. The main dish was their pan fried haddock and Tide & Boar signature Salad. I am lost for words to describe this plate cause it was so tasty and devoured in no time!! I didn’t think we had any more room in our tummy but couldn’t resist ordering the cheese cake to end the session.

Tide & Boar blends laid-back charm with seriously good eats. The menu hits that sweet spot between comfort food and chef-driven creativity, and the craft beer selection is top-notch. It’s got a buzz without being loud—perfect for catching up or kicking back. A Moncton favorite for a reason.

Google
Extremely good food in my opinion. Oysters were fresh and clean. Soup tasted great. Lobster was great. Awesome beers brewed in house. My one bit of feedback was that the chicken soup could contain more chicken meat but the flavour was incredible and the staff were very happy to receive any feedback I had.

I ordered the chowder during a late afternoon rush. Service was a bit slow but nothing too bad. They have a lovely outdoor seating area which is the true appeal of this place. It's a great place to catch up with friends or colleagues at the end of a work day while sipping on wine and having some hearty food.

Google
The charcuterie board was absolutely delicious. The burrata and other cheeses were so nice . For my main the seafood chowder was loaded with scallops shrimps smoked salmon muscles a generous amount of lobster and piping hot. Wife had crusted haddock and she enjoyed it . Sion had the chicken burger with a kick . Wonderful experience. Highly recommended

The Tocinos

Google
We tried three dishes during our visit: the fish and chips, mussels, and lobster roll. The fish and chips and mussels were okay — it could use a bit more seasoning to really bring out the flavors. As for the lobster roll, the presentation could have been better which took away from the experience a little. On a positive note, the staff was welcoming and the atmosphere was nice. With a little more attention to detail, this place could truly stand out.

Google
Food was incredible. Parm crusted haddock was lite and delicious. Umami pork bites were crispy with a sweet tangy sauce and great presentation. To finish off a simply wonderful and heavenly beeramisu, you have to have this dessert.

Google
Nice lunch place downtown. We shared the mussels, lobster roll, and polenta fries. Everything was fresh and flavourful. The lobster roll was fantastic! Service was quick and friendly.

Yelp
Was in the area for food. You will need to find and pay for street parking. We ordered the boar poutine. Boar poutine - meat was dry and cheese curds weren't melted. No taste.... Definitely needed the ketchup and gravy. Gravy was pretty good but not hot enough to melt the cheese. 2-3 person portion. Recommend it as a sharing dish. Our second dish was the fish and chips with a side of Chowder. There were no chips. Thinly fried and crispy. Tartar sauce was very good but too bad they didn't give us enough. Coleslaw was great too. Fish was seasoned well.

Yelp
The best pizza I have ever had. Detroit style with sausage was amazing. We had a couple beer flights and had a great time chatting with the server who was super nice. I would be there all the time if I didn't live 7.5 hours away

Yelp
Come here cause of the good ratings from Yelp and yesssss it didn't disappoint us. Love the seafood chowder, highly recommended. They also have kids menu which is perfect for family - Mac n cheese, burger n fries, poutine, fish & chips, chicken strips & fries. They also brewed their own beer, we tried Sour Otis Raspberry beach, 16oz is too much for me, might be better if I order an IPA lol. Another good thing about this place is it's located in downtown core, so walking distance to see tidal bore. Overall great experience, highly recommend!

Yelp
Finding this place during our brief stay in Moncton on the way to Cape Breton was a pleasant surprise. If you're staying in the nearby Delta Hotel, it is a short walk around the corner. We sat outside in the slightly chilly but still enjoyable late summer air. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive and stopped by regularly to check on us. We started with their mild ales and salads, and I have to say, I was genuinely impressed by the mild. I am an amateur homebrewer, and I've been refining a mild ale recipe for years without a lot of success. A great outcome has been surprisingly elusive for me. The mild here was exactly what I've been aiming at for years---medium mouthfeel, but malty, a little sweet, and a hint of grain. My wife got the poke bowl, which she reported enjoying. I got some oysters and the "classic hot" Nashville hot chicken. The oysters were excellent-- I should have ordered more. The chicken, served with pickles, was also fantastic, and the heat was what I wanted. I love spicy food and eat it regularly. Unfortunately, something about the heat was a bit too much for my digestive system, and the following morning's jog was... intense. Maybe it was the combination of heat and fried food. That's not to say that you shouldn't get the chicken, but if you have the occasional difficulty with spicy food, maybe pick something else. Everything on the menu looked awesome.

Yelp
A perfect spot to relax after watching the Boar roll in! We sat on the lovely terrace with our Border Collies at our feet while the attentive wait staff brought us a flight of their beer and the freshest oysters I've had in a long time. I could have just sat and enjoyed more of those Oysters, but the chowder, Putine, salad and fish did not disappoint! No room left for dessert, but we were very content. Highly recommend!!

Yelp
Took 10 minutes for our waiter to even realized we sat down. Food is so so. Nothing to write home about.

Yelp
First visit to (and first restaurant) Moncton. Outstanding. Tide board and chowder were just ridiculous. In house beer(s) solid. Service polite and quick. Nice spot to sit and daydream or people watch. Definite recommendation!

Yelp
Local pub which seems to gather the local crowds. Unfortunately we didn't have many options since it was getting late so we ended up eating here. I had the burger, chowder and sangria. It was ok but nothing out of the ordinary and definitely overpriced for what I had. $85 for two burgers and two drinks. The hostess (made a boar face, no pun intended) was rude but fortunately for us, the waitress was extremely kind. We also expressed this to manager so they better greet customers (with a smile).

Yelp
Try the boar poutine. Yummy! We were here on the biggest night of the car show, and the service was fast, friendly, and attentive.

Fishie S.

Yelp
Excellent food and service, love the atmosphere. Love that they host some amazing music talent to enjoy and make a memorable evening.

Yelp
Had a great meal here while waiting for the tide to turn! Fun atmosphere, y Emmy food, friendly service.

Yelp
On a recent business trip to Moncton, I consulted Yelp to point me to good food and this gastropub rose to the top of my search results. It did not disappoint! I had the fish tacos, which were very tasty and fresh. The fish was tender, not greasy and breaded just right. The soft shell taco was supple, yes, supple. Nice creamy sauce too but not too rich. My colleague made a strong choice with the parm encrusted haddock. It was the real deal. The brew pub selection was decent with more choice on the dark and hoppy vs. The light and malty. I had the Early Retirement, a tame brew for a tame dude (moi) but flavourful and refreshing. It hit the spot. My colleague had a stout and loved it too. Service was friendly, attentive and efficient. Nice atmosphere in a historical pub setting in downtown Moncton. Incidentally, if you visit to Moncton, don't sweat your location because everything is literally only 10 minutes away, max. And flying out of that airport is like flying private. No waiting and mercifully peaceful and calm, at least it was for us on a Wednesday evening.

Yelp
Outstanding food! I ate the best fish & chips (actually, the parm-crusted haddock w/ chips) I ever had--moist, flavorful(!), w/ a delicious homemade tartar sauce. The Tide Board--dried & curated salmon & other seafood--was truly memorable. The server was very helpful (she suggested the parm haddock in place of the standard fish & chips), beer & atmosphere were comfortably pubby. Great place!

Yelp
Nice restaurant - there is evening BBQ's with brisket for a few hours on certain days of the week. If you're going for the BBQ its a 5/5 spot. But the rest of the week, its 3/5., so I'll stick it at 4/5. but i can't blame them, Moncton isn't a super busy/bussling city so it's not practical for them to be doing BBQ for more hours out of the week. The beer is great, oysters are fresh. Everything on the menu is pretty good, no complaints.

Tom B.

Yelp
Good food and great service. Ate outside and watched the tidal boar. Close to hotel and walk.

John F.

Yelp
The dark wood and dark walls did not feel dark or gloomy, at all. Very light and cheery - helped by the friendly and welcoming staff. The servers were very attentive and there, when needed. The food was really good. I loved the boar poutine and my partner enjoyed his fried chicken sandwich. The beer selections were very good. Definitely recommend trying this place.

Yelp
Excellent food and great craft beer. Service is fast and friendly and the pub is clean and welcoming. Great location in central downtown and a very patio in the warmer months.

Yelp
A nice restaurant on the main street of Moncton. Very nice atmosphere, with dark walls and wood accents. It's a cosy little pub with good service. We had the beer battered cod (2 pieces) and the tide and boar salad. The best part of the meal was the side soup of seafood chowder, as everything else was just okay. The salad did not have enough roasted veggies or granola to make it interesting or provide texture. In general, the portion sizes are small, so it worked as a light lunch if you didn't get a beer. I would go for the beers and not the food next time.

Laurent H.

Yelp
Amazing for an outing with friends. It's a high end dining experience with friendly staff that make you feel at home. I take the blue cheese burger. It's the best burger in town

Yelp
So good. I was starving, and my pulled pork came fast and it was delicious. Num. our server was super friendly, too.

Yelp
Great menu, and friendly staff! The ambiance is great for any occasion, definitely a must if in the area.

Yelp
Ordered over the phone for takeout this evening. The gentleman who answered was very friendly and pleasant to deal with. He was knowledgeable when answering questions I had. We ordered the Boar Poutine and the Chicken Sandwich with T&B Salad as a side. All the food was tasty and reasonably priced. Portion sizes were good as well. Only saw the inside of the restaurant for a minute during pick-up, but it looked clean with a unique atmosphere.

Yelp
This was the mostly highly rated spot for dinner near our hotel so we thought we would check it out. I love a good Old Fashioned and enjoyed their spin... grapefruit instead of orange. The food was fresh and delicious. We ate inside but it seems the outdoor patio is the place to be on a nice summer night. Our service was friendly and attentive even though it was busy. My son's appetizer was good but a little small for his teenaged appetite. He needed another dish later on! I enjoyed my burger which was fresh and flavorful. The husband had the chicken sandwich which was so large he could t finish it. There was a large and rotating beer menu. Didn't try dessert but our neighbors did and it looked delicious
google avatar

David H.

Yelp
Conveniently located downtown and a quick walk from our hotel. Service was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. Had the Nashville hot chicken medium. It was hotter than your typical medium sauce. Chicken was just ok. Mac and cheese on the side was very bland and not a lot of cheese. Coworker I was with had the haddock and side salad and said it was good. A number of local beers on tap. Beer was not as cold as I would have liked. All and all just average.
google avatar

Song H.

Yelp
Cute patio/outdoor seating. Solid craft beer list. My waiter was friendly and reminded me of like Kilo Ren. :-) I ordered the panko crusted haddock. The fish tasted fine but the fillet is a little on the thin side. However, you can get a second piece of Haddock for extra. I'm not a huge fan of cole slaw and the accompanying slaw was actually good. My favorite was the soup of the day - coconut and carrot bisque. My friend got the poutine with foie gras - a must when in Canada.

David M.

Yelp
Great spot for a top notch burger. Have been here several times and the service and food are excellent!

Penelope M.

Yelp
Downtown Halifax Nice vibe and delicious shareables include the tide and cheese board The smoked haddock - just delicious ! Really friendly wait staff - the food came out not too quickly but not too slowly - just right ! Never felt rushed - right next door is a great coffee shop too if needed !
google avatar

Yelp
I ordered a burger with no cheese & Tide & Boar side salad to go. Both stood up well & met my expectations. The burger was clearly hand made, not frozen. I ate it too fast to notice the onion, but was tastey regardless. I really enjoyed the salad, not expecting the beets. The toppings are root veg & the shallot dressing had balanced flavor, not overpowering onion. This may seem silly, but I appreciated that they actually shredded the mixed salad greens. Too often lazy kitchens don't bother & it bothers me to have to trim shrubbery to eat a salad. It is a good price for a good meal. I'd like to try a Charcuterie board another time!
google avatar

Yelp
I had supper this evening at the Tide & Boar Gastropub. They have been profiled on Food Network's You Gotta Eat Here. If it's good enough for John Catucci, it's good enough for me! I ordered the Fried Chicken Sandwich with fries. It was a really good sandwich. The chicken was HUGE and was juicy and flavourful. The bun was nice and soft. Though I focused on the sandwich, the fries were good too (I didn't eat them all). I'd get this sandwich again. Caroline was my server. She was friendly and took good care of me.

Yelp
I knew this place is a must go if one is in Moncton ( friend's recom) So I planned a dinner! Number of local beers, mainly Nova Scotia, but for sure east coast beer. I tried the stout. Liked it. The cider here is pricey but it is also a must try. For food we tried both the Haddock and the beer battered Cod. Tasty, and plenty. Compared to what I had in Percé, the way they serve the cod here is obviously superior. The waiter was a young dude who did everything from taking orders to serving customers at the bar. Helpful and friendly. After your meal you can take a few minutes walk and explore the chocolate river. Gorgeous view at about sunset time.

Sarah L.

Yelp
Server was very nice but the food was mediocre (watery chowder, meh halibut, not many non IPA beer options) and the windows in the main dining room were covered in flies like it was a forgotten washroom in Fundy natl park. Came because of the good reviews but left still hungry and grossed out.
google avatar

Renee I.

Yelp
Went here on Sunday evening and was surprised how busy it was. Being from Midwest I had to my fill of seafood while I was relatively close to ocean. Ha I had a large bowl of mussels followed by the tuna which is pictured. Tuna was ok but all the veggies with it were yummy.

Marshall F.

Yelp
During a recent road-trip to The Maritimes, which essentially became a tour of local breweries, we specifically visited Moncton to check-out Happy and Tide + Boar after enjoying cans of both in Fredericton. While unable to sample the highly-recommended cuisine, we thoroughly enjoyed a couple of flights and departed with our favorites. Although partial to IPAs, which were fantastic, the [sole] stout was amazingly tasty and smooth. We later found more preferred environs, but this was the best-tasting beer of our vacation.

John S.

Yelp
Cool place, atmosphere is nice. Lots of diff beers to try, but for some reason the day I went (was visiting from Toronto) more than half the menu wasn't available. Only food available were pizzas, wings, fries and pretzels......no nachos, no boar poutine that everyone is raving about, no amazing fish and chips......very weird. Otherwise place is cool and enjoyed the night
google avatar

Hetal M.

Yelp
Came here for dinner the first day we got to NB based on recommendations from co-workers. We probably ordered every single appetizer on the menu and shared it. My coworkers had the oysters... I didn't so I can't comment but they were $3 each which I was told was expensive for oysters. We ordered the mussels, fries, cheese plate and the pork. Everything was enough to fill the 3 of us. What I didn't like about this place is 1) we had to ask to be moved because the table we were seated at wasnt big enough for all the food we ordered 2) there were SO many bugs/flies around our table and food that I felt I spent so much time swatting them. Other than that, overall a good place.

Jacqui L.

Yelp
Love. Love. Love. Ordered the parm crusted haddock $16 and the combo BBQ. $35. Everything was cooked to perfection and once we ordered, the food came out 10min later! So fast and so fresh. The best part was that we had our dog with us and didn't know if he was allowed on the patio... Lucky for us he was! So happy :) The servers were fantastic and friendly. Big place with lots of patio space and indoor tables. Definitely a place to go when you're in town.

Taylor F.

Yelp
Partner ordered fish and chips and I ordered shrimp poboy, both of which were the perfect dinner! Incredible food and service - highly recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
To be fair, I've never been to the tide and boar during any other season aside from the summer but at this point I am okay with that. Every summer the Tide and Boar puts out a phenomenal bbq menu from their Texas style bbq outside where they host 16 hour braised beef brisket, pork ribs and pulled pork. My oh my, I have never loved or craved a food as much as I do their brisket. We paid 34$ - split between two people for all three of the meats - which was more than filling. We got corn on the cob, coleslaw, Mac n cheese, quick pickles and a biscuit (we didn't enough to kind of hard spongy biscuit they had.. they used to have corn bread!!) Their selection of wine and beer is also exciting. They have quite a few surprising beers and they even brew some of their own right in tide and boar! Their red sangria was also a treat - 28$ for a pitcher. They say it's 3 glasses but we've counted like 5 glasses - blown away with how delicious it was! The atmosphere is so chill and calm but upbeat - just what you are looking for for a happening little restaurant. Their outside seating is so cute, but it was raining so we opted to sit inside. Well definitely be back by the end of the summer to treat ourselves to this amazing dish.
google avatar

Talia B.

Yelp
Probably the best seafood chowder and poutine we have tasted in Moncton so far! The poutine was so huge that it could be split between two people. Dessert was ok and cheese board was good but probably would not get again for the price.
google avatar

Bob T.

Yelp
This is not a pub but it does the good things you want a pub to do... Chalkboard with what is on tap shows that staff take pride in deciding what is poured to its patrons! Excellent. The clean and modern presentation of the haddock was complimented by the layered flavour of its breading. The beer battered cod was as expected. Side salad had beets... But was still a little too sweet?? An upgraded side to the poutine came with an expected local twist - ketchup! Maybe a dish that only a local could love... Home made ketchup on poutine, that has got to be unique to Atlantic Canada, non? Overall - very well run and reliable. Reasonably priced and you will have at least 2 beers from difference parts of Atlantic Canada.
google avatar

Yelp
We got lucky as they were able to seat our family of 5 immediately on a Friday night which was great as they were clearly busy. Awesome draft beer and drink options, and a few choices for the kids.  We ordered boar poutine which was amazing, haddock which was the best prepared (non fried) and tasting haddock we had during our 9 day stay in Canada - it came with superb salad. Also got a rib plate from their BBQ menu that came with bunch of sides. Everything was five star! Portion size, taste, presentation, service, freshness and temperature.  I would love the opportunity to come back (without kids!).

Yelp
Passing through Moncton, this was an ideal spot to stop. This is a huge restaurant with a large terrace and a full basement. Lunch on a Monday was not busy. Clean, cozy space with good service and clean washrooms. Good with allergies. For lunch today we went for: Charcuterie board which was good Halibut tacos with side of polenta fries. This accidentally came with regular fries, so she told me just to keep them and brought the polenta fries in a few minutes. The halibut was overlooked but the polenta fries were yummy. We had also ordered the Burrata salad from the French menu, but couldn't get. Oddly the French and English menus did not match. My kid was disappointed and decided not to have anything. Our water glasses stayed empty, but thankfully my kid was not thirsty either so I drank hers too.

Yelp
Food was great...service sucked, appetizers arrived before drinks 25 minutes later. Three tables being served!less than happy!!!

Yelp
Exquisite food by way of cured meats, pate, pickled veg "Tide and Boar". Elegant cocktails. Lovely staff. Slow kitchen and sticky, sweaty dining room. I bet the beer garden rocks and it's a perfect spot in the dining room in the off season. Glad we stopped in! Moncton is on the up and up.
google avatar

Sherri M.

Yelp
Went there for a quick supper before a show, so we knew service had to go nicely in order to make our plans work. When I decided to have an extra half dozen of oysters after deciding the first 6 were too delicious, the kitchen made an oops and sent out my main with the second serving of oysters. I didn't deduct any stars as the rest of the service was perfect, like those oysters. Rene had the beef tenderloin, and I had the burger, both were delicious. The star was the T&B salad, which has roasted root vegetables including beets, which are my favourite and add a slight sweetness to the mix of greens. The wine and beer was good! I had two glasses of Wente Chardonnay and he had an organic beer from Ontario. With no time for dessert, this just gives us yet another reason to return. The service was good and definitely what the people call hipster.

Yelp
What a wonderful place to stumble upon in Moncton NB! We had been on holiday in Nova Scotia and as our flight, out of Moncton, was in the afternoon we thought we'd wander around Moncton a bit. What luck to be hungry and find this great restaurant. We started with cocktails which were well made and delicious. Our main dishes include the Brisket Hash which was out of this world. The smoked brisket added an amazing flavour to the potatoes and vegetables that made up the hash. This was unlike anything I had enjoyed before, and made corned beef hash a poor contender. Our service was attentive and friendly while not being intrusive, and we even met the owner who was helping his staff throughout our meal. The patio was also a perfect place to enjoy the late morning. Bravo to the Tide and Boar

Yelp
Great food and excellent ambiance. We ordered the fish & a burger and were pleased with both dishes, though they came with an over-abundance of fries. We could have shared a single plate. For am appetizer, we ordered brussels sprouts--a favorite dish of ours. The were excellently cooked--just tender, but we found the Asian glaze to be a bit too sweet. Still, this was an excellent stop for us on our vacation to Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. We'd definitely visit again and perhaps enjoy some beer next time!

Yelp
Location: Downtown Moncton. Street parking is available but metered (on most of the side streets as well). There are a few parking lots in the area but parking really didn't seem to be an issue. The meters don't run on weekends which was a nice surprise. The place: Great pub vibe and a decor to match. They've also got a great terrace that we didn't enjoy on day 1 due to the torrential downpour, but we made up for it on our last day. The goods: On my first visit, I shared the charcuterie board with my friend. We loved every single item on that board - SO good. I'd definitely suggest trying this out, if only because it's home made. My main were the fish tacos (2) and the polenta fries. The tacos were pretty good though I would have liked a little more flavour. The polenta fries were good but really heavy. I had two and tried to pawn the rest off on my friend. You could make a meal out of those things and be fuelled up for the day! My friend had the fish and chips and enjoyed it. She also enjoyed her beer. On our second visit, I ordered the seafood chowder and the home made ginger beer. The chowder was good, but it was lukewarm and lacking in flavour. I had to add salt and paper to it. The ginger beer was OK too - it tasted a little watered down and you could barely taste the ginger. My friend had a salad and a beer ad enjoyed both. Service: First time - OK. Second time - great. Price point: I think with tip it was about $25.

Yelp
This Gastropub was featured on "You gotta eat here", so I had to eat there and boy was I ever impressed! Great brick & beam interior, relaxed vibe, amazing food! If you're lucky enough they also play live music sometimes. We spilt the Boar charcuterie the boar bacon was spectacular I didn't want to share it with my partner. For my main I ordered the Panko and Parm crusted haddock with an order of polenta fries, the best haddock I've ever had no wonder it's there best seller. YOU GOTTA EAT HERE!

Yelp
I spend a night in Moncton every once and awhile and have always had some favorites around Main Street. My colleague suggested this place a few months ago - surprisingly I had never heard of it or for that matter, even noticed it before. Needless to say, this is my new go-to for food in Moncton. It won't replace the casualness of some of my other spots but in terms of quality and pricing, this place is pretty spectacular. Their menu also seems to change seasonally - something I enjoyed last time was not on the menu this time. Some good favorites of mine are the Tide and Boar salad, which has an excellent combination of savoury and sweet. The chips and dip sharing platter is also pretty amazing. Their daily soup is usually yummy and fresh as well. Bar selection is great - they have rotating casks for draft beer and the prices are reasonable which is important to me ($6 for a beer I've never heard of is excellent). Overall - I'm a huge fan of this place and it will generally trump anywhere else when it comes to deciding on where to eat in the area..
