There are nice folks working there. They were happy to give me a ride to the airport. The room was clean and well appointed. I was able to watch Monday night football big plus for me. It took about 6 hours to get the room up to 68 degrees f so it was a bit chilly for a while. The continental breakfast was a fail - quaker instant oats if you were interested. The coffee is so so. The Salty Pantry is 3 or 4 blocks away - EXCELLENT!

This was my second visit to Petersburg and the house we rented last summer was not available. So I took a chance reserving a room here and was so happy with my choice. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The room was exceptionally clean, which is a big deal for me. Not a stray hair in the bathroom or on the beds. I have stayed at chain hotels that were very dirty, so I was so surprised to see such a rural hotel in a small remote fishing village this clean. Yes, the decor is older, but it is all functional. The beds were super comfortable. The pillows were almost new and very clean. Breakfast was nothing fancy but nice to have it available. Towels were thick and clean and smelled fresh. Shower was nice and the curved shower curtain was a nice touch. Great job Tides Inn. Thanks for taking pride in your facility.

Comfortable, clean and relaxing place to stay while visiting Petersburg. The staff were all very friendly & helpful when checking in, out & when asking for local recommendations. I loved the retro style of the hotel. My adult daughter & I enjoyed playing the board games in our room, they are available in the lobby for anyone to use. In addition to our room, the lobby was also a nice comfortable area to chill and relax, complete with a kitchen, ice machine, TV, tables, chairs & a sofa.

Very friendly staff. They are accommodating. Room has a loud small fridge like a lot of hotels. Small little breakfast. All packaged. Nothing hot except oatmeal you can heat up. But it worked for a few nights while fishing.

From start to finish our interaction with the team from Tides Inn was always positive. We stayed 2 nights and had great time, the staff were so incredibly friendly and just further enhanced our experience. Rooms were clean and inviting, beds super comfy and there was plenty of room. The waffles for breakfast were yummy and the bottomless cup of coffee was appreciated. It is located in in a great spot and easy walk to everything.

I hadn’t stayed at The Tides since pre-covid but I had always liked it and now I think it is even better than before. It has always been clean, comfortable, quiet and centrally located (okay, not too hard in Petersburg to be “centrally” located. The shuttle from the airport is prompt. All of the staff are super friendly and helpful. The breakfast offerings are plentiful. The wifi is fast and reliable and there is plenty of hot water, which is not always a given here in Southeast. Plus they have a great new lobby cat named Java. This is one of those family owned businesses that prove how important those businesses truly are. Definitely a great place to stay.

Super comfy beds, very friendly staff, nice clean room and bathroom - totally exceeded my expectations. Would def recommend and will stay here again. One note - if your room faces the harbor you get some noise from that direction bit that didnt bother me

If you need a place to SLEEP in Petersburg Alaska that's in walking distance to restaurants, pubs, or the market then TIDES INN is the place to stay. Very comfortable beds, clean microwave/refrigerator in room also enjoy a yummy breakfast. Can't forget about the Friendly Welcoming Service you'll receive. I definitely would stay here again. 🙂

Yelp
Tides Inn is walking distance to the Harbor Masters Office at the North Harbor and is located up the hill behind the main street where the majority of shops and restaurants are located. The staff will pick you up at the airport and transport you back when needed. They also operate the car and scooter rental. We had a room with a view for both of our stays on either end of our small boat adventure. The staff is friendly. The hotel is clean and offers a continental breakfast (packaged oatmeal, pastries, cereal, juice, coffee & tea) The beds are super comfy. The price is reasonable. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again. There's also a little restaurant called The Tinnery that just opened on the premises that serves lunch and dinner Wednesday through Sunday and the food was delicious. There are 3 floors, no elevators.

Yelp
They let us check in really early and then let us stay after normal checkout time. We didn't have to sit for hours, at the airport, waiting for our outgoing flight. The rooms are really clean & fairly updated, the beds are super comfy, and the hotel staff are so nice! Thank for treating us so great!

Yelp
The Tides Inn is the perfect example of why you should support family owned businesses and not corporate multinationals. It is clean, comfortable and quiet. You can literally roll downhill to the main street of Petersburg if you wanted to. The airport shuttle is prompt. Wifi is fast and reliable. Hot water is plentiful which is not always a given when you travel in Southeast Alaska. They offer packaged foods and make your own waffles for breakfast and I think that is fine. In my father's immortal words "how did you like the price?"; since the room rates are very reasonable and the breakfast is free. If you can't be happy with hot coffee, toast and a bowl of Rice Krispies for breakfast then you need to do some serious navel gazing introspection. The best compliment I can pay the Tides is that the entire staff is genuinely friendly and helpful. And not in that forced staff training mandated faux friendliness when you know that they are telling the other employees what a goof ball you are the minute you are out of earshot. Everybody at the Tides is personable and informative without being overbearing. Be sure to say hi to Java the lobby cat when you check in and out.

Yelp
Nice little hotel. Adam and Company are nice at the front desk. There's coffee around the clock. Room was nice and clean. It was noisy. But, in summertime, I think people stay up late. I'd stay here again.

Yelp
I stayed at the Tides Inn while in Petersburg for a Public Media meeting in February. The central location was very convenient, the staff helpful and polite, and the room was quite comfortable. I would definitely stay there again when visiting Petersburg.

Yelp
Wonderful staff and excellent location in downtown Petersburg! The bed was very comfortable, the room clean and tidy, there wasn't a lot of noise from the neighboring rooms or hallways, and the staff was simply outstanding. Their recommendations on what to do and see, and their knowledge of the community in general and what visitors want to see specifically is spot on. I would love to return in the summer and enjoy more of the sights of "Little Norway" and when I do, it will be The Tide's Inn for my lodging choice.

Yelp
Stay away. Noisy, unbelievably lousy breakfast, wifi never worked, and they will stick you in inside rooms if you don't object. The people are nice, but the hotel is awful.

Yelp
Nice and clean. Friendly staff. Breakfast was store bough canned gravey and Costco pre made bisquits. Did have cereal and those items. Breakfast really sucked. Could make a bit of an effort to upgrade that for the price you pay

Yelp
The Tides Inn is a nice small town inn. Tides Inn is located only a block from the town center. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The new beds are super-comfortable! I even looked for a tag so I could get one for my home! With the fridge, microwave, lounge chair and desk I could have comfortably stayed much longer than the three days I was in town. The staff was helpful and friendly. I highly recommend this inn.

Yelp
Very nice Inn. Clean modern rooms and in excellent shape. Bathroom very clean. They have a continental breakfast of Coffee, Oatmeal and looked like some muffins. Internet computer in the lobby and a TV.
