Tides Waterfront Dining

Had a great lunch at Tides. Went for the tower as really just needed to gorge ourselves on fresh seafood. At $180 there was enough for 2 people and although they’d run out of mussels, they gave us extra scallops and prawns. The prawns were amazing. They weren’t particularly busy and the young guys on the floor did a decent job serving.

A very enjoyable restaurant. Good food, courteous staff and a great view. We had the 2 course lunch special for $49 each that included a glass of wine or soft drink - excellent value. I had 3 delicious fresh scallops with bacon bits that were delicious, succulent and well cooked. I also had the grilled reef fish that was well cooked, but not the most flavourful. The salad was a bit slap dash on the plate, but was a tasty accompaniment. My wife had the pork belly bites that were tasty but a little dry. Her steak was cooked to her liking and very tasty. It rested on a bed of delicious mushrooms. We had a side of steamed broccoli with a topping of mixed nuts and fruit (I think!) for an extra $10, very good. The service was attentive and measured. A very enjoyable lunch and excellent value at $106. Recommended!

I’ve been dining here for years and as always it was a 5 star evening. From the moment you arrive you are greeted with warmth. The staff are outstanding, fully knowledgeable and just beautiful people. The presentation, flavour and price of the food is outstanding, it taste so good. Thank you for aiding me in enjoying a loveky evening for one

We booked in advance and daily updated the numbers due to additional interest in the venue. The staff were very accomodating for our large crowd of approximately 20 guests. They split the bill for individual payment and were very warm and professional with their service. Recommend this venue highly.

We booked the hotel his restaurant for our last night in QLD with family as it was highly rated and as walking distance from our hotel. I can only review on our own experiences which sadly were way below expectations. The gnocchi - presentation was great, however upon eating it was found to be swimming in oil. Gnocchi themselves were soft and fluffy. Eye fillet - cooked as requested and had good taste, but unsure why it was pre cut for me. Brocolinni were in need of more cooking. Understand people have different preferences, but this was essentially still raw. Also the mushroom pate on puff pastry was not needed. If this was meant to be a deconstructed beef Wellington it fell short. 100% not worth the $58 menu price. Pork rib entree - pork a little overcooked but still decent taste. Where this one fell down was the out of balance picked onions which everyone agreed had way too much vineger in the mix. One of our party had quite an unfortunate reaction to this and couldn't talk for the rest of the meal (due to what felt like a burnt throat we learnt later). The one slightly redeeming feature was the Lemon Cheesecake cocktail was was really really good. Overall the amount of money we spent at this place did not match the experience expected. I'm glad others have enjoyed this place in the past but we sadly did not

We celebrateed our "family Christmas" early at Tides... such a spoil! The team delivered attentive yet friendly service, and the chef went above and beyond to cater for a dietary requirement (anaphylaxis to dairy). The vibe, view, and team were beyond expectations, as was the Australian seafood (mostly local), which was cooked to PERFECTION 😍 I cannot wait to return! Thank you for a truly enjoyable experience.

Staff were lovely, our waitress in particular. I wanted to thank her personally but she did not have a name plate but she made sure our needs were met. Views of the ocean specially at sunset makes it even better

Simply the best restaurant in Caloundra nothing could be faulted everything was superb 10/10 Andrew is a perfect host and Jack and Molly are outstanding wait staff who enjoy their job which reflect on their fantastic service. The only thing I could fault was that the restaurant had a little cosmetic issues like rust damage showing which gave it a dated feel. But if you want above standard food and service this is the place to go.

From start to finish we received exemplary service and stunning food. All items executed with a deft hand and seasoned oh so well. I have to say the chips with aioli was one of the best I have ever had. We can't wait to go back! Food 9/10 service 8.5/10 decor 7.5/10

Only 1 previous review I was slightly hesitant but no worries excellent. We had the oysters natural which where not on the lunch menu but was not a problem, I had the barra my favorite fish and the boss had the crab salad, we finished off with the rhubarb crumble. A couple of beers and glass of bubbly what more could you ask for. Sea breeze & overlooking the Pumicestone passage just great.

I took a day trip to Caloundra, and was craving some yummy seafood. After reviewing the menu, the server informed us there were no oysters, which made me sad because I love oysters and wanted to order some! Nonetheless, I ordered the barramundi, which was cooked very nicely. My date ordered the pork belly, and I must say that I liked the pork belly more than the barramundi! Although the restaurant was close to empty (maybe 4 tables were occupied), the food did take awhile to come out. I would totally eat at Tides again, and hopefully have some wine to go with my meal!

A great location overlooking the water, wonderful to watch the sunset from. We attended a wedding reception here, and the food and service was excellent. We got the scallops for an entree and rib eye for mains, and the wedding cake for dessert and they were all cooked to perfection. It's a fairly small restaurant, but it's personal and comfortable.

Seafood is excellent here - incredibly fresh and well prepared. Although the food was excellent, the service slowed down a lot towards the end of the meal, an became s little less attentive.

Some very delectable dishes here we enjoyed the snapper and smoked salmon . Not very large portion sizes for hungry teenagers but filled up on beautiful tapas and desert . Very attentive service. Good location and ambience.
