TIDO Hostel Penang

I recently stayed at this hostel and was very pleased! 🌟 It's an excellent place located in the old town with a wonderful atmosphere. The hostel has a large area for working, and the entire fifth floor is fully accessible to guests, which is very convenient. There are plenty of rooms, and they are well-equipped. The staff is always available and ready to help with any questions. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming, creating a pleasant environment. 👍 The air conditioning works great, which is especially important in hot weather. Additionally, there are a couple of cozy and upscale cafes right nearby where you can enjoy delicious food and great coffee. ☕️🍰 Overall, I highly recommend this hostel to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay. I will definitely return here again! ❤️ ---

Stayed here for 6 nights in total and staff were quick to change my bed so I could have access to a full sized locker - 2 beds in the dorm didn’t. On each floor there are 4 bathrooms and during my stay these seemed to be cleaned once. Thankfully there were that many that I could pick which one looked ‘the best’. Decent showers with hot water was a highlight! The top floor lounge does not have a bar as advertised but was a nice place to chill.

Location is great, just off the main food road (Chulia street) and in walking distance from everything else. For further things get the bus, also nearby. Hostel was generally clean, although bathrooms not always. Common room was big but empty. Could offer some teas and coffee and also more detailed town information. Towels, shampoos and drinking water provided.

TIDO was a pretty good hostel! The rooms were clean and spacious, and the beds were really comfortable. They also have a nice common area, though the place feels more like a coworking space than a social hostel. The only small issue (which most people won’t mind) is that the common area is on the fifth floor with no outdoor space, so I had to go down to the ground floor to smoke. But overall, it was a great stay!

Central location, close to Love Lane. Good coffee shop on the opposite corner. We stayed in a private double room and found that the aircon pulled in the smell from the street (dirty drain smell). Which you can't notice when in the room, but when you leave and come back in, it can be a bit disgusting - also can't be very good for your lungs. The staff are really helpful, the lady (possibly the manager) is really accommodating and understanding. We extended our stay by one night but accidentally booked the wrong date, and she kindly helped us to sort it with booking.com and waived the fee - thank you!

The hostel is okay and does the job. Although it’s quite clear the place doesn’t regularly get cleaned. Simple stuff like the consumables in the restroom/showers needs refills and the rooms can sometimes be a bit dirty. However, the place has a good location and the areas for social actives are great.

Its a ok hostel. Maybe not the typical backpacker atmosphere. In the 5th floor is a hang out place with kitchen. A lot of space. The room had good space and were clean. It has lockers ..The bathroom big, but had a Lack of shampoo. Only Some drunk Indians in my room couldn't turn off their phone Alarm so easy... . The aircondition was a bit too cold..

The bed condition was okay, but your experience would rely a lot on the person you’re staying with. I unluckily shared a room with a Chinese guy, who was very loud during the night and I couldn’t sleep at all. The hostel employee was nice, offered me to change the room, but I didn’t want to take a risk again. Still, the place is affordable and location is at Georgetown, so I recommend you if you’re on a budget travel.
