Tierra del Mar Hotel

We stayed at Tierra Del Mar for 4 days to celebrate my birthday. It was even better than I imagined. The property is beautiful and the staff were so kind. Isra made sure that our stay was comfortable and gave us recommendations for places to eat and sit at the beach. We loved lounging by the pool and the rooms were so lovely. The hammocks are a great place to take an afternoon nap. The location is perfect, right in the heart of Holbox. We will be back as soon as we can!

This beautiful boutique hotel is the epitome of bohemian chic. With only nine rooms accommodating a maximum of eighteen adults, the property feels intimate and thoughtfully curated. Each room is designed for relaxation, with wonderfully comfortable beds, high‑quality linens and towels, a beach basket for day trips, and for our suite, a fabulous private hammock.||The rooms are clad in light stone with calming textiles and multiple lighting options. Our bathroom, however, was quite dim and could benefit from additional lighting. The A/C worked perfectly during our December stay, the rooms smelled fantastic, and everything was kept impeccably clean.||I hesitate here, because in so many ways this property deserves five stars, but it falls short due to a few small—yet noticeable—details. A coffee maker and pods are provided, but no milk or creamer is available, and artificial sweetener couldn’t be obtained. There is no refrigerator in the room for storing medication, and ice is not available – you will need to purchase your own (many bars can sell you a few cups of ice if you don't need a full bag). One additional suggestion: guests staying in the garden‑view suite should be able to turn off the outdoor lights to fully enjoy the incredible Holbox night sky.||Isar, the property manager, was fantastic and attentive to many small details. Breakfast at the beach club down the street was sufficient, though nothing particularly memorable. The pool area was inviting, but the water was quite cold in December.||Rates were very reasonable, and I would absolutely consider staying here again. The Junior Suite, in particular, is amazing and well worth the splurge.

Another really lovely hotel on our trip. Very comfortable beds, very clean rooms and good pool. It has only 8 rooms which makes it very quiet. Less than 2 minute walk to beach and very convenient for bars and restaurants. Two blocks of 4 rooms situated in very nice gardens Helpful staff and recommend using them to book onward transfer at very competitive prices.

I have been to Holbox so many times. And I was SO IMPRESSED with this hotel. The comfort & set up & decor of the rooms - functional and comfortable and beautiful. The entire hotel is manicured and decorated to perfection. The managers and employees were so nice and helpful. The pool and hang areas are so comfy and beautiful. You can tell this was well thought out and remodeled. The location is perfect, one block to the beach and one block to the center. I am very impressed! Gracias a Blanca y Israel.

We loved our stay here. The facilities and room are in perfect condition and the staff has great attention to detail. They have a sense for sustainability and urge the guests to participate.

I think this place is an absolute hidden gem! I had stayed on a beach front hotel for 10 days and it was good. However it was a family hotel so the noise wasn't great for me as a solo traveller. Additionally once I got into the rooms of Tierra Del Mar i realised the absolute step up in class. It says this is a 3 star hotel, in terms of the service, and the quality of the whole place, it is way above this! I like most people go on and choose the hotel on the sea front and I did this for the previous one. I was just fortunate to walk past one day and looked in through the small door. Its an absolute gem and perfect at just 8 rooms. So super intimate. The location to the beach is literally a 1-2 minute walk and its energy is perfect in comparison to what can be a busier beach. Breakfast options weren't many but there are so many good cafes within a few minutes it made no difference at all to me. Also the staff i have to say were exceptional, amazing local recommendations for food and just couldn't do enough for you. I don't write too many recommendations considering i've been travelling round the world the last year and have stayed at in excess of 60 places.. This is in my top 4 of the whole trip!

I'm a regular to Isla Holbox and this is my favorite place to stay. Isra is a great host who immediately makes you feel welcome and at home. The place itself is a little, quiet heaven in the middle of the island's center. Walking in from the gates and a garden and a quiet, well-kept courtyard welcome you, taking you into its embrace. The rooms are well decorated, clean and comfortable with high quality products in the bathroom. A great location to be near all the restaurants and bars as well as the beach. Bike rental is just around the corner and ferry is only 10 minutes walk away. This is my happy place and I can't wait to be back!

My friend and I stayed here for four days in March 2025 and it was honestly one of the most beautiful places I've ever been to! As someone who prefers my hotel to be a refuge I come back to after a day's wanderings as opposed to the location of the main event, the boutique, almost homelike feel of Tierra Del Mar was absolutely ideal. The "no loud music" rule and the main gate shutting after a certain time in the evening (requiring a provided key to come and go) might not be everyone's vibe for a tropical vacation, but I personally loved it for me it added to the oasis-like feel. But no need to worry if you're the more fast-paced sort, Tierra Del Mar is still located very centrally in Holbox, so if you are craving that hustle and bustle you're only steps away from the best restaurants, bars, beach clubs, and markets! The hotel's owner was extremely sweet and friendly and was always near enough at hand if we needed anything, and the staff was just as kind. I'm still looking through my photos from our trip and can't believe I had the chance to stay at such a beautiful, relaxing spot! Highly, highly recommend for the traveller who likes peace and calm alongside their adventures.
