Tierra del Sol Resort & Golf

We had our wedding at Tierra del Sol and would absolutely recommend them to everyone!!! It was so nice to have our wedding here, as the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception were all here and all of the outdoor areas were completely reserved for us. The venue was absolutely beautiful, and our ~70 guests all fit very comfortably within the space. We were also able to go to the golf course and take some photos as a couple during cocktail hour. The food was SO incredible! We had guests raving about it all night, the buffet went very smoothly, and I was amazed at the number of options we had for our food. Even our pickiest eaters had something to eat that they enjoyed, and our more adventurous eaters got incredible seafood, meat, and salads! I want to give a special shout out to Emilio Geerman, who was our contact person for the wedding. He was so easy to communicate with and was able to arrange last minute changes when we had a change in guest count. He also ensured that the event went smoothly and gave personal attention to each of my guests. My grandma, who was having trouble getting around that day, needed to be transported around the venue, and Emilio was able to get a golf cart so she could move quickly and safely where she needed to go. It meant so much to me to know that my family was in good hands with Emilio, and truly impressed me so much. Tierra del Sol will always be a must-visit for us in Aruba :) We can’t thank them enough for everything!!

My wife and I played the course on January 8, 2025. We paid $380.00 US for nine holes, the other nine holes was closed for renovations. We rented two sets of clubs. I was tempted to walk out prior to paying but I really wanted to golf so I bit the bullet and paid the outrageous fee. When we got our clubs and cart the starter told us it was cart path only which we should have been told before we paid. The course was in terrible shape. You can tell they are working to improve everything but the price should reflect the conditions, I guess they want us to pay for the improvements. I played this course about 16 year ago and it was in great shape. I will not return as I felt I was ripped off and it left a bad taste in my mouth. They will have a tough time getting anybody who had the same experience as me to ever come back.

I did stay here but ate at the restaurant. The place is gorgeous and scenic. The food and menu options at the restaurant were average. Great place to take pictures.

Went for Golf and found only 9 holes open, renovating the others. Enjoyed the pool for a dip and had a good salad at the bar. Oh yeah this fellow at the driving range. The crew swooped in to gather the boa.

We entered the property by cab and we were impressed by the landscape architecture surrounded by the sea. We asked to sit on the patio for dinner. As we reviewed the menu my husband asked if the fish was native to Aruba and she looked confused and said, “No. We cook the fish here.” Then I asked about the Ahi Tuna because it said it was GlutenFree Optional. I asked what would be changed to make it gluten free. She didn’t know and left to apparently check in the kitchen. After 10-minutes she came back and said they would make it gluten free. I asked her again about the preparation and she still didn’t know. She took our order and disappeared. We had emptied the bottle of sparkling water and sat there with no attention for 20-minutes. Our salads were delivered by another wait person, we had no water on our table and ate our salads. No return of our waitress. Our meals arrived and we waited for silverware to be delivered. No one came so we took forks and knives from another table. I asked the man who delivered our food which of the tuna’s was gluten free. He said they both were. I was suspect. Half way through our dinner we were able to get more sparking water. To be clear, the dinner plate was beautifully prepared. The tuna was delicious, as was the bok choy and other vegetables. I was so happy. She came to clear our plates and offered us a dessert menu. My husband ordered “2-scoops of ice cream, one vanilla and one chocolate.” She brought him two dishes each with one scoop. We were shaking our heads. My husband asked for a cab to be called. And we waited and waited for our check to be delivered. We never saw her again. We went to the bar to pay our check because we had a 20-minute cab ride and didn’t want to lose our cab. It’s was $250 expense to wake up sweating and spending my morning on the toilet. I called the manager to talk about the importance of training staff about gluten intolerance (celiac disease) as well as those with allergies. I told him I would let the Celiac Association of America know they could not safely eat there. He said they had some new staff. I told him that they shouldn’t be allowed on the floor till they were properly trained. He said he was sorry. I’m on vacation. I could have ignored the horrible service, but not missing a day at the beach with my husband, who by the way, did not get sick. There was gluten intolerance my Ahi Tuna. If you have allergies- don’t go.

We arrived before Christmas for an 8 day stay at one of the 3 bedroom villas with a private pool. Our plan was to play golf on the newly renovated course but we were surprised by the condition of the course. It was no where near ready for play. There were large sandy dried out patches on most fairways and the course had no signage or markers on fairways. And it was cart path only which seemed unnecessary given the fairways were most dried out dirt and grass. We would not recommend playing here right now. It’s a waste of money. Views are nice though. Could be a great course someday. Potential is there but not right now.

Overall it was a great experience renting a villa. It was quiet, staff was friendly, security was unmatched and the spa was better than expected. The villa itself was clean and the grounds team kept up with cleaning the pool too. The only gripe I have is that the electrical and the water temperature control was kind of clunky and when asked for assistance I was told, “sorry, maintenance has gone home for the night” they said they would reach out to fix the problem but they never did.

My wife and I booked a three week stay at tierra del sol based on the pictures offered on booking .com.||We thought we had booked a private villa complete with a private pool in the back.||Additionally we requested a pick up at the airport.||The day of the flight to aruba, I got an email advising that the host couldn't pick us up and that we should take a taxi.||We arrived at the gate to tierra del sol in said taxi, only to discover there was no record of our arrival. The villa we thought we had booked was on the list , but with someone elses name beside it.||Somehow we got past the gate and up to the front desk, but the desk was closed. Part of the email from earlier in the day said there would be an envelope in the restaurant for us???||The waitress from the restaurant did find the envelope with a room number and a key.||But the accommodations were not as we had ordered. This was a second floor walk up with no pool. To make matters worse, the room wasn't ready for occupancy. The housekeeping supervisor Luz had driven us to the room and made it up quickly for us. ||The next morning we packed up our stuff and went to the front desk. The desk clerk assured us we were In the room we had booked but offered us a change up to what we thought we had booked with a pool for a whopping $90usd a nite more. Can you say bate and switch??? Naturally we asked for a taxi and left.,..........SCAM||
