Tierra Encantada - Ford

We cannot speak more highly about Tierra Encantada! The teachers and staff are incredible. We started there when our son was an infant and he has since moved up to the toddler room. In both classes we knew how well he was cared for and saw him grow in skills and language. The programming is purposeful, creative and shows a real understanding for early childhood development. As a teacher myself, I can see how much time and energy goes into lessons. Our son is exposed daily to a different language, healthy food, a clean and safe environment and a group of staff who love him! We are so happy that we chose Tierra Encantada for our family.

Tierra Encantada is truly the best preschool! We are incredibly thankful that our child had the opportunity to be part of this amazing program. From the dedicated teachers and caring staff to the wonderful community of families, every part of our experience exceeded our expectations. Although we relocated a little while ago, we carry with us the most beautiful memories of our child’s first school experience. We couldn’t have asked for a better start to his early education!

We started attending TE when it first opened! My son was 2 when he started going there & Mrs. Maria (the current director) was his first teacher! We started having him attend halftime & Mrs. Maria recommended that we have him come full-time to improve his Spanish even more! After the first week of having Chance a full-time student, we immediately noticed him speaking more fluently in Spanish. We were so impressed that we started recommending other friends that had kids to attend! Chance has progressed soooooo much while at this daycare! I love all of his teachers and aides that helped him both Ms. Maria’s , Mrs. Macarena, Ms. Audrey, Ms. Christina and I’m sure I’m missing a few names but I really appreciate you all for taking the time to make Chance’s daycare an incredible experience and one that we will not ever forget! If you are looking for a daycare center that loves kids, have a heart for kids, are fun and truly have a compassion for what they do, look no further! You will not be disappointed

Being new parents having to juggle through work and parenthood for the first time, it has been a blessing to come across Tierra Encantada. Positive development was very important to us for our newborn so they can be well prepared for whatever the future holds for them. Our child has been there since he was 2 & a half, 3 months old i believe. Its been so long that I've forgotten but now he's 1 years old and just seeing the growth he has made through his first year of life has been amazing and we owe it all to the staff at TE Ford. From the directors, to the chefs preparing nutritious meals, the teachers, and even events they host there for the children. Feels like I've hit the lottery finding them. The price is definitely worth it for what they provide, for the committed staff, and the amount of growth you get to see in your child. We receive updates throughout the day of what they are learning with photos and videos as well. Another key thing for us is learning the Spanish language and in general of all types of different cultures in our community, country, and world. For Spanish, I've been learning for 5 years and I can tell you that learning Spanish has changed my life for the better. It has opened doors for better opportunities and it allows me to connect with thousands of people in my area and if I wanted or needed to, millions of people in various Spanish speaking countries. It'd be selfish of me to not allow my child to get that same experience. Going back to diversity, all people are celebrated at TE Ford. Being in NoVa, you have many different people from MANY different countries. Every culture, country, and community is respect and celebrated there with many activities and lessons to help the children strengthen their social awareness/intelligence. Ya know, I would've never thought I'd take the time to do a Google review, but Tierra Encantada Ford deserves their flowers. They are the best and I truly mean that. The place is very secure and safe. I bet most of you won't be able to find it on your first visit haha which is very good IMO because safety is most important for our kids. I can really go on and on about what I love about TE but it'd take about 3-5 business days lol.

Luca is in the Infant A classroom at Tierra Encantada Ford, and we feel so lucky to have Mrs. Alexandra and Ms. Diana as his teachers. They’ve made his first months in daycare such a positive experience, full of love, patience, and joy.

Our first experience was with our daughter she started when she was two years old, we couldn’t not be happier with the care she had, for that reason when we had our second child, we didn’t doubt to put him in the same school, and again we are very thankful to have a place where our child can have the best care. The staff at Tierra Encantada are amazing at communicating with us. The teachers are so patient and genuinely care about the children,they keep us informed about our child's progress, they keep us updated daily with photos and detailed reports about our child's day, We are so impressed with the activities and learning opportunities provided. management team are always available to answer any questions we have, during drop off and pick up time they are very welcoming. Also we love that the food is healthy, fresh and organic. We Highly recommend Tierra Encantada.

Our family has had such a wonderful experience at Tierra Encantada in Alexandria. Since starting, my son's Spanish has improved--it's been amazing to see how naturally he's picking it up through daily immersion. He enjoys school so much that he actually gets upset if I arrive too early to pick him up because he wants to keep playing with his friends! From the moment we walked in, the entire staff has been incredibly welcoming. There's such a warm, positive energy throughout the school, and it's clear that every team member is deeply invested in the children's happiness and development. I especially appreciate the cooks, who prepare fresh, nutritious meals every day. They always have a smile on their faces as they push their cart of delicious food into the classrooms--it's such a sweet way to start the morning and a thoughtful part of the day. The admin team is also amazing and incredibly hardworking. You can tell how much pride they take in the school and in supporting the exceptional staff that makes Tierra Encantada such a special place. Their dedication creates a supportive and well-run environment. My son has had the absolute best teacher--Mrs. Audrey--and I say that with 15 years of experience in education. She is incredibly warm, patient, caring, and understanding. I always appreciate her thoughtful feedback and the genuine attention she gives to each child. My son regularly comes home excited to share new concepts he's learned--everything from recycling to safety--and he always credits Mrs. Audrey with helping him understand. Knowing he's in her classroom gives me complete peace of mind. Tierra Encantada's approach to learning through play and exploration has been a perfect fit for our family. I love how the curriculum encourages curiosity and introduces children to new foods, cultures, books, and games through engaging, themed activities. It's a joyful, enriching environment that fosters both academic and personal growth. The school itself is also exceptionally clean, and the building feels safe and secure--something that's incredibly important to us as parents. It's comforting to know that our child is not only well cared for emotionally and academically, but also in a thoughtfully maintained and secure space. As a working parent, having this level of trust and comfort makes all the difference. Drop-offs are easy because I know my son is in the best hands--growing, thriving, and having a truly wonderful early childhood experience.

My son started daycare June of 2024 he was 16 months, prior to daycare he had a nanny part time. My husband and I decided our son needed to attend daycare so he could interact with children his age, and we wanted him to attend a Spanish immersion daycare. The daycare/teachers are wonderful, they always keep us informed of our sons daily activities and the teachers are warm and caring. Our son is speaking Spanish not just words but sentences. I highly recommend this daycare.

My child was harassed by their administrative assistant repeatedly. It turned out not only mine. Instead of addressing the concern, the business has taken down my yelp and Google reviews. Avoid this place.

We have been at Tierra Encantada for about a year. Our two toddlers started at 10 months and 2.5 years, respectively. They have been successful in each classroom and they absolutely LOVE school, their teachers, and the administrative staff. The curriculum is outstanding and both our toddlers can switch between English and Spanish with ease- they get excited to teach me songs and vocab words at home! The provided food is also a huge pro for us- their breakfast, lunch, and snacks are healthy and diverse thanks to their wonderful chef. We are always notified immediately of illnesses reported from other families, any changes in routine, and when monthly fire drills happen. They have fun "spirit days" and are about to start water days for summer. We are so grateful to everyone at TE for everything they do for us!

Our daughter started at Tierra Encantada about six months ago, and she LOVES it. I was pretty nervous for her to start daycare because she had been bottle hesitant, but the teachers are amazing. Somehow, they got her to take her bottle, and within a week, she happily too a bottle with no issue at each feeding. So glad we decided to go with Tierra Encantada!
