What's up with Asian restaurants in Zürich and bench seating? I've noticed this trend in Wagamama's, Lily's, and now Tiffins. Must be the most efficient use of space to pack us all in.
Anyway, came here on Friday night at 7:30 pm for dinner and was promptly seated next to the tiny bar. The place got packed moments later, with people hanging out beside us, waiting to be seated. Not exactly the most romantic set-up, but hey, whatever.
My bf got Thali - Platte Poulet, which was Indian tandori chicken with rice, yogurt sauce, lentils, a crispy papadum, and a small cucumber salad. I sampled each of them and decided that the heavy spice taste was not for me.
I ordered Gue Tew Nam Tok Nua--whatever that means--and got something like looked very much like Vietnamese pho. However, the meat slices were not raw, but a bit thicker and precooked. But the soup and rice noodles and meatballs and coriander had a similar taste, and the bowl of noodle soup was topped with a generous amount of fresh chilies, even though the dish was not meant to be spicy.
Dinner for 2 plus a Singha beer for him was CHF 58.50. For some reason, I thought this was supposed to be a fancy restaurant, but I guess it's actually a more casual place. Fine for a spontaneous dinner out though, and the walls are painted in a cheery red color.
