We go to a lot of tea shops, and this is by far our favorite! One of our favorites drink is the passionfruit and mango passionfruit. More natural ingredients than other tea shops. Great customer service too.

Google
Place was a nice shop not busy. Little expensive but understandable because of Minneapolis. They had a lot of nice options hot and cold. Otherwise the sizing was a little small for the price to be honest. Would stop by again only if I’m the area otherwise pretty good. The boba size wasn’t too consistent either

Google
Stopped by mid-afternoon Saturday and was the only customer at the time. My bubble tea was ready in maybe 3 minutes and was SO GOOD! Loved how friendly the staff were and the place was very tidy and clean. I appreciated the kiosk to order and pay, and the menu had lots of options. I also enjoyed that my bubble tea wasn't overwhelmingly sweet.

Google
The drinks are extremely overpriced, and the service is not much better. I ordered online and asked them to put the tapioca on the side on an extra empty cup, since I don't want it to go mushy when I get home. However, they straight up ignored my note and just put the tapioca in the drink. I asked why, and all of their explanation was "we can't do that", for a drink I paid almost $11 for. I was in a rush so I couldn't wait for them to remake it. A few days later, when my friends and I came in to order drinks (no boba), they finished making it but unlike many times in the past, where they sealed the cup, they gave her a sip lid instead. So my friend asked for a straw, and the lady here just straight up said no, to a STRAW. We tried asking her again but she kept on insisting no. For drinks that cost $9-10 each, and such simple requests can't even be fulfilled. That was absolutely my last straw (pun intended), and I will never go to this place again. Very stingy.

Google
Cute little boba shop! If youre antisocial they have an ordering screen so you can order from that and they'll make it right away for you! It's usually not busy at all so they finish your drink insanely quick. I definitely recommend coming here if you're in town. I've been here a couple times and they were so nice both times! I do wish that they had some seating inside maybe like a couple of high chairs or some tables or something. Maybe could be a place to come to to study at if they did have seating.

Google
Terrible service. Paid almost $10 for a drink and simply asked for a new lid to be sealed, but the girl refused for no reason. On top of that, she was rude as hell. Definitely not worth the price or the attitude. Won’t be coming back.

Ellena Le

Google
The drink itself was really beautiful but when trying it, mine tasted pretty plain and not as sweet as I would like. it was modified it to a lactose free milk so that’s probably why, but seeing as they offered that as an option, I was surprised how bland it came to be. The service was nice though and efficient but I don’t think I would come back for anything but the aesthetic.

Google
Best milk tea in I had. They use horizon organic milk for milk tea while other stores use ordinary milk or even non dairy cream. Black sugar milk tea was really rich and flavorful. Passion fruit tea was also good.

Yelp
So glad we revisited! They DO allow you to adjust the sweetness. Not sure if they changed their rules or if we got the wrong information the previous visit a few years ago. we tried the brown sugar milk tea 50% sweet and the brown sugar milk 100% sweet. Both were delicious! And boba has a good chew.

Yelp
Reminds me of NYC. I'm so happy this is here in the Midwest. I love this place so much compared to other boba places. I really love their selection of drinks. The flavor is def there unlike other places. The brown sugar drink is soooo good. The service is always so nice and place is pretty quiet. The only downside for me would be the location. So difficult to find a parking. I hope they can open more locations sometime in the future!! :)

Yelp
Delicious Boba, but half of my drink was ice. I should have ordered light ice since the last half of my drink tasted watered down (weak). Here, the Boba is the large tapioca balls and the Pearls are the small tapioca balls. Both Boba and Pearls were very soft and flavorful. The Brown Sugar Signature Tea was also very good until my ice melted. Service was good, but only one person was working so we were lucky there wasn't a line when we arrived. There are only seats for two people to sit inside, so I would not call it comfortable while you wait for your order. The restaurant was clean and minimalistic. I enjoyed my cute Hello Kitty cup.

Yelp
I was in Dinkytown and was craving boba (I always crave boba) and was excited to try a new place! Looked on Yelp and Tiger Sushi had great reviews, so that's where we went. I got the matcha black sugar boba milk and was so disappointed. The drink tasted like milk with boba. The boba was good, but I was so disappointed with the drink itself.

Yelp
Nice place. Good service and drinks. Only thing sucks is the location because it was hard to find parking and get to it.

Yelp
First time to Tiger Sugar. It was strange that they would have a self ordering stand and I was a little confused at first about ordering at the counter since the self ordering was at the front of the line. We did the self ordering. There's not much modification for the drink. The taro drink I had seemed like there's chunks of taro but after a few sips it just taste like powder. The mango drink was a little tart and not very sweet. I like the little chunks of mango. The paper straws are a little hard to drink from for little kids because they suck on the straw and then it doesn't keep its shape to drink through anymore.

Yelp
Stopped at Tiger Sugar on a weekday afternoon. Fortunately got there right before a big rush of people. It was a little tough to understand the differences in the drinks and options from the signs, but the staff answered our questions. Ordered the original and it was only OK. Sweet and creamy, but it lacked any flavor depth - pretty much just tasted like milky brown sugar. I was hoping it would taste like what I tried in Taipei, but it was definitely missing something. And, there was an odd combination of larger boba and smaller pearls, which didn't go that well together. Not sure if I'll go back, but if so, I will be sure to ask for the boba only.

Yelp
Best boba in town. They have good boba; trust me coming from somebody who calls LA my second home. I hope they can stay open (pretty empty for Saturday afternoon hours) although it is summertime and being at UofM area, I would think they have better traffic during school time.

Yelp
YES!! Honestly, I never understood why this place got so much recognition and hype when I've had other comparable brands! Heck, I even stood in line for 2 hours once for a different shop. This place really does a great job with their brown sugar boba! When I think of brown sugar milk all I can think of is the amount of sugar and sweetness that I am about to consume, but Tiger Sugar, while still sweet, I felt like they aren't reminding me to schedule a dentist appointment. I really enjoyed the mini boba mixed within the regular boba, there seems to be some sort of boba variation with every sip. They use horizon whole milk as their standard (my favorite milk), but you can definitely get a dairy alternative! If you aren't someone that likes milk products, they do have tea drinks as well! With tax they come to be about $6 a cup, which is pricey for the size, but it is worth every sip (even though I completely smashed this in like 5 minutes). I would definitely come back to try their other brown sugar drinks!

Yelp
This boba place is a treat! It's relatively new and my sister turned me on to it. It was delicious and the perfect cool drink for a warm afternoon! We got the No. 1 and it was pretty sweet, but otherwise the flavor of the drink and texture of the boba were both phenomenal! They didn't appear to have seating, but this was a great stop since we were in Dinkytown and wanted something cool to sip on as we walked around.

Yelp
The flavors here seem really limiting but if you like coffee flavored and cream boba teas then this is a cool spot to check out. We tried the mango sago and black sugar boba w tiger jelly and cream mousse. I didn't find the mango sweet enough, but could be nice if you like your mango not as ripe and less sweet. You also get a larger drink going with mango. The black sugar one was definitely up my alley, so I enjoyed that. I think the tiger jelly's were too hard tho esp mixed with the soft pearls. Threw the textures off for me. Overall I would go back and try something else. Price is comparable to about anywhere else in the area. The one with pudding mixed in seems intriguing.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place for so long but don't have one where I live. When I heard Minneapolis has one, I knew I had to try it. It definitely did not disappoint and was one of the best boba drinks I've ever had. I wish I could have gone back and got more! Highly highly recommend if you love boba.

Yelp
This is a global chain but so glad to have this option in MN! Top two best bubble tea places in the area. I usually have gotten the classic brown sugar drink but opted for a black tea with cheese foam cap and no regrets! Utterly delicious and simple bliss- highly recommend! If you are looking for authentic Taiwanese/Asian flavors instead of watered down and overly sugary "gentrified" bubble tea - this is the place for you!

Yelp
I had the signature brown sugar boba milk just 2 weeks ago in TX and was delighted to see one in Minneapolis. Had the matcha boba milk and the cup wasn't even full, like one inch til the rim. The taste of the drink was ok but it wasn't creamy at all. It was hot on July 4th and the store's A/C wasn't working properly since most customers were complaining how hot it was. I was sweating while standing in the store and it was very uncomfortable. Took about 15 minutes to get my drink with two workers there. I understand the staff shortage and had no issues in waiting but at least give me a full drink when you charged over $8. The paper straw was too short for the cup and hard to get the bobas.

Yelp
Surprised to see Tiger Sugar in Minneapolis and it was a hot day. I first had Tiger Sugar in Taichung, Taiwan in 2018 and then in Hong Kong in 2019. Also had it in Houston, TX in 2021 and now in MN. Every Tiger Sugar should share the same formula and there is no adjustment to ice and sugar levels. Today, I had the matcha milk tea XL for $8.29. I usually get the #1 the signature brown sugar boba milk with cream mousse. The matcha isn't as creamy as #1 and the sweetness is definitely toned down. Bobas and pearls are sweet and chewy but the cream mousse was missing. While I'm an eco conscious individual, I'd hope they change the paper straw vendor because the straw was too short for an XL cup to stir to begin with. I had the drink for 5 minutes and the top of the straw got really soft on the top where it was hard to suck up the bobas. Poor material and design, IMO. Glad to see a familiar brand in MN.

Yelp
I. AM. OBSESSED! Absolutely so delicious! So glad it made its way to Minneapolis. I saw people saying it's too sweet. I do not agree at all and I don't like overly sweet things. Make sure to shake your drinks very well as it disperses the sugar throughout. Otherwise, all you'll get is sugar and then just milk and that's not the way it's meant to be drank. Service is honestly fine. Seems like a lot of college kids work here. Never really had an issue. My only thing is I wish they had a larger size!

Yelp
This was my first time as a customer after a Yelp Elite event and I was jazzed! I brought a friend with and unfortunately things felt a little meh this time around. I ordered on the kiosk and there's a section to write in requests. I wanted less boba (they mix boba and pearls and it can be a lot) and was able to type it in without an issue. Almost immediately I was called to the counter and asked if I didn't want any boba. Confused I said I wanted some but not as much as normal. The employee told me they could do that. Honestly that makes no sense. Last time I was here they scooped it in by hand so why couldn't they accommodate this request that every other shop does? I went with the brown sugar milk tea with the chocolate malt powder. I don't think I would get it again. After vigorous shaking I was still sucking up clumps of malt powder. I will saw the longer the drink sat the more the clumps disappeared but normally I wouldn't wait that long to drink. The place was packed and they were pumping out drinks quickly. I'd return, but probably stick to the OG. Also, keep in mind this place doesn't let you customize your drink.

Yelp
Do you like sugar? Do you like dessert of any kind? Then make sure to visit Tiger Sugar!!! While the interior won't wow you, the drinks will! The flavors packs a punch that you'll beyond enjoy. You won't regret a visit here.

Yelp
I'm normally not a brown sugar of person. Honestly? I've been pretty let down by it. I like the nuttiness and caramel taste of it, but often times, I feel like I'm one drink away from developing some Type II diabetes based on how sweet it is. Or, it doesn't even taste any different from regular boba that I'm confused as to whether I even ordered brown sugar boba. No more. Not with Tiger Sugar here. Not gonna lie, I did struggle a little deciphering the menu. Basically, it boils down to this. If you're going for brown sugar boba, there are an assortment of different options, that have slightly different variations - do you want pearls? Coffee? Pudding? Jelly? Chocolate? Pick whatever you like. There are some options that don't have brown sugar boba, but if you're coming here in the first place, why? Ordered just the classic brown sugar boba with creme mousse and pearls, and let me tell you - the hype lived up. The boba are actually in different sizes, which was kind of a textural delight, and the taste itself? I could actually taste brown sugar without it being overwhelmingly sweet. I would 100% go again.

Yelp
Super excited Tiger Sugar opened in Dinkytown. This is the bubble tea I remember from Taiwan. The bubbles are perfectly cooked in brown sugar. They use real milk (vegetarian option available too) instead of the powder stuff at many places. Mixed together, the drink is full of flavor and a significant elevation from the often artificial or watered down taste of subpar boba places. They have a relatively small menu but it is done well. There is no option to customize sugar and ice levels but they already got it just right for us. My only qualm is I didn't like how they mixed large and small boba together. (It certainly adds interest and texture, so this is just a personal preference thing.) Next time I think I am going to try to request large bobas only. There is a kiosk in the store for quick ordering. No seating. Street parking.

Yelp
The best bobba tea franchise yet to arrive in Twin City . Bravo ! It's about time , the real Taiwanese brand Bobba Tea Franchise comes to the city. Frankly it's the best so far. The tapioca Pearl is the best quality. The drinks are very very good , does not taste like some chemicals in it .

Yelp
Delicious new Bubble tea spot in town Their bubbles are different sizes, but ver good. They were extremely short on menu options for the first couple months, but I think they're hitting their groove! I love the variety like cheese topping and mochi tea plus of course the classic brown sugar milk.
google avatar

Lily C.

Yelp
I got the #1. I love the flavor of the tea. I reminded me of flan. I felt like the boba was too soft and could be a bit chewier.
google avatar

Tiffany L.

Yelp
Came here for their grand opening last weekend and despite the 40 minute wait, I definitely think it's worth it! I got the original tiger sugar brown sugar latte and it was delicious! They use a cream mousse instead of a milk base which gives the drink a creamier texture. The bubbles were also the perfect texture -- chewy and slightly sweetened. I'd recommend coming here in a few weeks when it's less busy!
google avatar

Yelp
Last weekend I visited @tigersugar.usa who opened recently in the Dinkytown area of Minneapolis. It was my first visit so I spent some time chatting with the staff about the different items on the menu. Everyone was friendly and the flavors were amazing! Definitely check them out if you're in the area. Thanks @yelpmsp for the recommendation! * Signature Menu Item- Black Sugar Boba + Pearl Milk with Cream Mousse

Yelp
I was excited to try out this bubble tea place when I saw it right next door to my favorite burrito place! I was quickly disappointed. The interior looked very sleek, which I now would describe as "empty and bland". They have maybe 6 bubble teas available, but I don't know what the difference is between them. We asked the worker to explain the differences and she wasn't able to, either. She just pointed to the menu and read the names of the drinks. The person I was with and I did end up ordering two different drinks, but the only thing that was different was that one had a more gritty/chalky texture than the other. I don't think the drinks were bad, but they were definitely not what I thought I was getting compared to what I think of as bubble tea. I wouldn't come here again, but that's just because I didn't like the kind of bubble tea they serve.
google avatar

Kaverne A J L.

Yelp
Really good bubble tea store! I'm thinking it's because of the brown sugar that they use that makes it so good!

William K.

Yelp
This place has delicious, refreshing bubble tea. I came here with a friend on a hot August day before we began to walk around the University of Minnesota's campus, and was wowed by not only the high quality of the bubble tea, but the overall atmosphere inside too. For reference, I ordered their Tiger Mango Sago - so refreshing! Service is very friendly, and the drinks are made relatively quickly yet still so good. While the store itself was quite empty (there is minimal seating space inside), there were lots of cute decorations inside and the interior felt very homey and cozy. Must be great for U of M students to come in and have a little break from their studies. Will definitely be back here when in the area again.
google avatar

Annie N.

Yelp
I don't usually order brown sugar milk teas because they can definitely be too dense and overloaded with sugar, but after trying Tigar Sugar in NYC, I was more than excited to hear that the chain was coming to MPLS, because I found the options here quite lacking, even coming from PDX where there already were not many. I came on opening weekend so it was definitely crowded. The store was small and didn't have electronic order kiosks like in NYC, and maybe this was just during opening weekend to improve efficiency, but a lot of items on the menu were crossed out/not available. I have tried the #1 with and without cream mousse (didn't taste a big difference) and also the green tea latte. Of note, there's no option to customize your sugar level here. While this may sound scary (maybe just for me, who usually orders 30-50% sweetness at best), trust in me telling you to trust their process. The drinks will come out with perfectly soft chewy brown sugar boba, and the drinks will not be as sweet as you were expecting. Their boba is definitely the best of all the boba chains I've tried, and the drinks have remained consistent in quality every time I've been.
google avatar

Jennifer K.

Yelp
This is my second time here, it is lovely. I wasn't fan prior to tiger sugar on tea drinks, but they have "changed" me. Parking can be a little tricky, but worth it for a fun quick drink
google avatar

Katherine C.

Yelp
The first time I came here, I drank it and thought "this is good, but I think I like boba with tea in it rather than a brown sugar milk drink." I still stand by that statement as I do prefer milk tea over brown sugar boba. However, as the weeks went by I've ended up frequenting Tiger Sugar more than any of the other boba shops in the area, and I think that speaks to the quality of their brown sugar boba. Their selection is pretty small for a boba shop (aka revolves around brown sugar boba), but honestly if they only had their #1 signature drink that would be sufficient. I've gotten the variations with boba+pudding and boba+black jelly, but I think I still like their #1 (boba + pearls) the best. I also was afraid the first time I was here that it would be too sweet since I usually adjust to 50% sugar for my milk tea, but it wasn't as sweet as I thought. Definitely could be a miss for someone who likes their boba 0-25% sweet or appreciates the bitterness of the tea flavor in their drink, but I would definitely give Tiger Sugar a try.

Yelp
My first Yelp elite event! I do love Boba Tea and sometimes have a hard time finding it. Street parking but found a place right away since we were there maybe not during busy hours. I had already looked at their menu online so kind of knew what I was going to order in advance. Their drinks do look as nice as their pictures except that the Tapioca pearls sink to the bottom as that was the first ingredient I saw her put in, she charged me I think $6.00 after I had handed her my paperwork showing it was suppose to be covered for an elite experience, she read and reread the paperwork and looked puzzled then she did clear out the register and made the tea and handed me a cute bag with goodies and apologized for her error, no biggy! I ordered their #1 signature drink, Black Sugar Boba + Pearl Milk with Cream Mousse. It was in my opinion just ok. It does smell slightly like burned brown sugar when you walk in but nothing tasted burnt. The pearls were fantastic though, huge and chewy and they give you a large straw they the pearls don't plug the straw. I noticed there's another Boba tea place directly across the street which I would think they must be fighting for attention, they were empty when I got there and when I left, hope they make it! Cool that they have a machine that seals a lid on it for to go orders. I would probably try again if I was in the area sometime, but wouldn't make a special trip for it. Thank you for letting me try you out! It was appreciated.
google avatar

Samantha S.

Yelp
Tiger sugar has meter parking in front and open store front where you order at counter. They have a great selection of coffee boba options. I wish I could have gotten a bigger size! It was so good, it disappeared on me! Definitely need to shake your drink before trying. Super good and would highly recommend! Also try the popcorn. So yummy!
google avatar

Wesley T.

Yelp
Not the most friendly service. I definitely regretted the flavor I got which was the cheese tiger milk tea. The cheese didn't go well with the rest of the drink, in fact it didn't really taste like cheese? Texture was kind of weird too. I'd probably just go their specialty with nothing added except boba to really get the hype....
google avatar

Oag M.

Yelp
Definitely a different taste! Creamy, chewy pearls, and absolutely delicious! At first, I was skeptical about it as I am not a huge "sugar" or brown sugar person, but OMG I DID NOT REGRET! It's not as sweet as you'd think of brown sugar because of course, you can ask for the adjustment level of sweetness per your preferences! First time had me craving on coming back for the second time! Will definitely come back and recommend for anyone who loves boba, coffee, and tea! :)
google avatar

Neal D.

Yelp
Went here right after class and was in a convenient location. The actual boba was tastier than the surrounding bubble tea places! Would go again
google avatar

Tracey A.

Yelp
This is the best flavor of boba tea (imho) and this place makes it perfectly! Service was fast and friendly too.

Paul L.

Yelp
Gave it a try because it was nearby. I got the #1; a unique brown sugar taste. My daughters got the F2 and enjoyed the Crystal boba.

Anna H.

Yelp
Fabulous boba, speedy with the service in and out in 3 minutes! Their signature drink was Devine!

Munaa O.

Yelp
Poor customer service they were very rude and unwelcoming. I've been very excited to come to this place show love and try out the boba's but after today never will I ever go there again. Drinks were made in a rush and very poorly, save your money and go somewhere else where they appreciate you.

Megan W.

Yelp
Best bubble tea shop in Dinkytown. Not too sweet, not too creamy, but also not lacking in either. Exactly what I was craving.

Kim Tien N.

Yelp
Their drinks are good although they are too sweet to me. However, their customer service is so bad. The cashier didn't greet or ask me what drinks I wanted. She just stood there and added in order whatever I pointed to. Finally, she asked "anything else?" That was it. The barista was even nicer than her. She handed me my drinks and wished me a happy night. She should be the cashier instead!!! Plus, I don't understand why they only sell half of the menu? Everything else was crossed out!

Vivian H.

Yelp
Ugh they're so pricey but they do their boba/tapioca pearls so well! Plus they offer lactose free milk! It's always a treat when we get them. Their golden oolong is one of our go-tos :9

Autumnhx I.

Yelp
GROSS!!!! their drinks are so sweet and their matcha is so gross. so disappointed I threw it away and went to Kung Fu Tea right away.

Ozzy W.

Yelp
I really love this place so I would give it 5 stars for taste and experience but the portions is why Im giving 2 stars. You cant adjust anything about your drink and if you get it iced half the cup is ice! I would appreciate if they let you adjust the ice at least but sadly they never do. The problem wouldnt be as bad if the drinks were bigger but given that the actual cup size is small, more ice means less drink. Every other boba place lets you adjust ice and sugar, even the place across the street, but not here.

Charlene K.

Yelp
I love tiger sugar but it's pricey here compare to CA hahah. I def will go back again. Price got nothing if the drinks are good.
