"Known for incredible shelling and tidal pools, this Marco Island beach is a bit of an adventure—be prepared for a decent walk from the parking lot; my husband proclaimed it the biggest beach he’d ever seen, and the kids were troopers for the almost half-mile trek to the shell-strewn shoreline." - Travel + Leisure Editors

"On the northern end of Marco Island, Tigertail Beach Park is popular for its tidal lagoon and ultra-calm waters that make it a favorite spot for paddleboarding and family-friendly exploration." - Paul Rubio
Very long walk from the parking area to the beach but if you can handle the long walk, it's worth it. It's a beautiful beach. We found a few small shark teeth there and some nice shells. But it was a very long walk for my daughter with special needs.

Not having any idea what awaited us, turned into quite an adventure, walking a ways, wading a lagoon, going through a short span of jungle and then to a most beautiful beach. ( we made sure to cross back before high tide, not knowing how deep lagoon would get) Others were crossing both ways so you weren’t alone. It’s worth it!!

Don't let the reviews complaining about the"Long walk" keep you from enjoying this beautiful beach. Just get water shoes and wade through the knee-deep water to the beach. It took maybe 3-5 minutes to cross. If you really don't want to get wet (that makes me question why you were going to the beach in the first place) you can walk around and it's only like half a mile, then you are rewarded with a less crowded beach with lots of nice shells. You can also look up low tide online and it will be only ankle deep to cross.

I’ve been to 22 beaches across Fl in the last 6mo and this is one of my favorites for shelling. I found everything except a large conch shell. Lots of sand dollars and some other cool ones. The parking is about .25-.50 mile from the sands of the beach. The restrooms are found in the parking lots. You pay to park via the machine in the parking lot.

Still five stars even though it's a hassle to wade through the water in the lagoon to get there. Otherwise it was a very nice beach once you got there. Just be prepared to forge through waist high water depending on the time of day. It wasn't very well marked but we went on a busy enough day that we could see where to go. I don't recommend this beach for families with small children because it will be difficult to carry them and all your beach gear across the water. I'd say it's about 3-5 minutes that you're wading but I'm sure it would feel longer with a bunch of stuff so pack light.

Hidden gem on the Gulf Coast! The unspoiled beach is a great place to enjoy the Gulf and watch the native shorebirds feed along the coast. It is a bit of a hike from the parking lot to the beach but enjoy the view and the wildlife on your trek to paradise.

Best shelling place! This beach is OUTSTANDING! We loved it! Quiet, safe, beautiful, and so far the best shelling we’ve found in Florida!
