Perfect location. We had a double room ensuite and a single room ensuite which Linda kindly upgraded to a twin room so both rooms had a lovely view over the bay. This B&B is more comfortable than most hotel rooms, lovely little sitting room for guests to use as well. Great selection for breakfast and cooked breakfast can be ordered night before for a certain time. Linda is a perfect engaging friendly hostess and provided good local information and suggestions for things to do. Highly recommend this great wee find.

Have stayed at this lovely cosy guest house a few times.
The host Linda is very welcoming and of course knowledgeable about everything Barra and Vatersay.
The rooms are cosy, clean ,toiletries and wee extras ( water, shortbread) are provided.
Breakfast will be made to your order, ..believe me it will set you up for the day.

Tigh na Mara is in a perfect location in Castlebay, close to the shops and handy for the local bus and a few minutes walk from the ferry.|Tigh na Mara is a lovely homely property and is spotlessly clean. My single room was very comfy with a shower cubicle in the room and separate small toilet and sink.Toiletries and pack with cotton buds etc were provided which was great as I had forgotten a couple of things. The room had a side view of the bay and the castle.|Tea and coffee facilities were in the room with a wee biscuit and small bottle of water which was very welcome.|Breakfast was great with good choice of cereals, yoghurt, fresh fruit and fruit juice.Cooked breakfast choices were perfectly cooked and could be reordered the night before.Dining room has great views over the bay.|Linda is an amazing hostess, very friendly and welcoming. She went above and beyond for guests especially when there were issues with the ferry.|I was a solo traveller and unfortunately I had a serious fall when on a day trip to a nearby island.Linda was so kind and thoughtful and very supportive.|I will definetly return to Tigh na Mara and can highly recommend as very good value and in a perfect situation.

this my 10th visit to this b&b. I have being staying here on visits to the Outer Hebrides over the years. It is one of my favourite places to stay in Scotland. The rooms are very comfortable and functional but may be a bit small for some people.. Linda is a great and friendly host and provides an excellent breakfast. It is 1 minute drive from ferry.

Lovely B&B. Linda was a very helpful and accommodating host. Great walkable location on the main road through Castlebay (but it's Barra, so even the main road is quiet!) Comfy and cosy twin room with a lovely sea view we had. One of the best breakfasts of our trip as well. Thank you very much! Oh and we liked the rocks in the well kept front garden.

We had a very enjoyable two nights here. Linda is the perfect host. Very comfortable room with a great view, excellent breakfast and interesting chats with the other guests and Linda. To cap it all, Linda gave us a miniature of Barra gin to enjoy. Would highly recommend.

We have just returned from a very pleasant stay at Tigh Na Mara on Barra. Our double room was very comfortable with every facility that we needed. The room had spectacular views over the bay including Kisimul Castle. The guest house is also very handy for the ferry to and from Oban. Linda the owner was warm and welcoming - nothing was too much trouble. The breakfasts were delicious and plentiful. Sadly, we had to cut our stay short by a couple of days because of the weather but Linda was very understanding about it. ||We warmly recommend Tigh Na Mara to all those wanting to explore Barra, Verasay and Eriskay
