this my 10th visit to this b&b. I have being staying here on visits to the Outer Hebrides over the years. It is one of my favourite places to stay in Scotland. The rooms are very comfortable and functional but may be a bit small for some people.. Linda is a great and friendly host and provides an excellent breakfast. It is 1 minute drive from ferry.

Lovely B&B. Linda was a very helpful and accommodating host. Great walkable location on the main road through Castlebay (but it's Barra, so even the main road is quiet!) Comfy and cosy twin room with a lovely sea view we had. One of the best breakfasts of our trip as well. Thank you very much! Oh and we liked the rocks in the well kept front garden.

Lovely B&B in Castlebay within walking distance of the locals shops and restaurants. The breakfast is cooked to order each morning. Our room was a bit small (probably due to an en-suite bathroom being installed at a later date) but that didn't bother us - we were out most of the day exploring beautiful Barra and Vatersay.

We had a very enjoyable two nights here. Linda is the perfect host. Very comfortable room with a great view, excellent breakfast and interesting chats with the other guests and Linda. To cap it all, Linda gave us a miniature of Barra gin to enjoy. Would highly recommend.

Impeccably clean, welcoming and comfortable. The location of this B&B is spectacular with a view over the bay and the islands. Linda cooks a delicious and hearty breakfast. Tigh-Na-Mara is also very close to the ferry pier. |I would certainly like to return one day.

Lovely hotel. The hotel is a very short distance from the ferry and walking would be possible if we had not been so lazy instead we paid £6 to be driven around the corner after a long journey from Glasgow. A warm welcome waited us. Linda and her lovely husband explained everything offering a lovely choice of breakfasts. Due to the weather we were not sure what to do as a boat trip was cancelled - Linda sprung to the rescue and gave us all the bus times, which meant literally standing across the road where we could flag down the friendliest of bus drivers and we were on our way to Vatersay which was a great first day. Linda continued to be attentive through out our stay and we hope to be back soon. We enjoyed dinner at a lovely hotel and Indian nearby - which both must be booked to avoid disappointment. We had an en-suite twin room with little extras of bottles of water and tea and coffee and toiletries which were lovely. Highly recommended. Thank you Linda & family. Kirsty & Gilliane

We had a lovely stay here, comfortable and clean room. Breakfast was lovely. Easy location to the rest of Castlebay on foot and the rest of Barra by car. I wouldn’t hesitate to come back.

We have just returned from a very pleasant stay at Tigh Na Mara on Barra. Our double room was very comfortable with every facility that we needed. The room had spectacular views over the bay including Kisimul Castle. The guest house is also very handy for the ferry to and from Oban. Linda the owner was warm and welcoming - nothing was too much trouble. The breakfasts were delicious and plentiful. Sadly, we had to cut our stay short by a couple of days because of the weather but Linda was very understanding about it. ||We warmly recommend Tigh Na Mara to all those wanting to explore Barra, Verasay and Eriskay
