Tihanyi Bencés Apátság

Always worth to visit if you are in Hungary! Since the restauration of the church in 2023 it is really a beautiful spot! Nice park with lots of beautiful flowers and of course a good view at the lake. Little to crowdy as all the tourists want to see and visit Tihany. So did wee and we don´t regret!

You can see the magnificent view of Lake Balaton and beautiful scenery below Tihany. Inside the monastery, you can find a museum and historical relics. Since the parking lot next to the building is a private parking lot, you must use another location.

The Tihanyi Bencés Apátság is a true jewel of Hungarian architecture and history. Definitely worth a visit! The monastery is beautiful, and there are some really interesting exhibitions in the catacombs too.

Astonishing view but prices are very high and service is a bit slow.
