Google
Brilliant place the darts area was a great night out for 35th birthday. The staff were brilliant so kind even to get my elder aunt a chair from downstairs to help her be comfortable. Also the shot the girl with the black hair and tattoos made was a cool experience definitely a first, she could have done anymore she was amazing. Would recommend this bar to anyone. Visit 220825.

We were here for a friend's leaving night and sat in the beer garden. The atmosphere was tremendous there and we spent a good couple of hours there. We were moved inside later and there was definitely a buzz about the place. I felt some of the servers were not interested in being there. It was just a few but our party did notice it.

Google
Can't recommend tiki bar enough. Food and drink was excellent. Prices very reasonable. Above all else the service was outstanding, nothing was too much trouble for the staff who all had a smile on their face and were very helpful and polite. Will definitely be returning ASAP.

Google
New Darts area here was great! Came in on a Saturday afternoon with no booking and managed to get a board straight away for an hour. Cocktails were good and a few new game types we had never played before!

Google
We stopped by for beers at the new beer garden as it's nice and chill and they have a decent selection of beers. This is also a Thai restaurant so we ordered food after a few pints. The food is great though keep in mind that the Pad Thai has a ton of fish sauce. The staff are friendly and the prices are decent so definitely a hidden gem.

Google
Stopped by for one after visiting the King' theatre. Excellent choice of cocktails available. Mojito was well made. Large outdoor seating area. Would be amazing on a warm summers day. TV's outside too for sporting events. Didn't order food but from what I seen on tables looked appetising.

Google
Really great experience. Thai food was very good. Drinks were well priced and tasty. Plenty of rum choices if you want to try something off menu. Staff were excellent. Professional and super friendly. So good I might even go back tomorrow.

I am so glad to have stumbled upon this place on my visit to Glasgow. I love a good Tiki bar, and this one is top notch. I didn't try any of the food, but the drinks are superb! I am still dreaming of their "Penicillin" drink, it was amazing. The decor is so fun, and thw ceiling was a cherry on top. Can not recommend enough.

Yelp
Who would've thought an authentic tiki bar would be in the heart of Glasgow? The drinks were fantastic and enjoyed the food as well.

Yelp
We came straight here from our inbound flight for lunch, our server was so nice and even helped us lock away our luggage in an empty downstairs room going up to the dining area upstairs. The space is beautiful and the retro vibe carries throughout the space. We all had the express lunch specials (only 8 pounds!) and were all happy with our individual choices. My friend had the Chicken Satay Ayam starter and was raving about the sauce days afterwards! I had the Coley with Three Flavoured Sauce with a starter of Salt and Pepper Squid. The chili and tamarind sauce on the coley was tart with a little bit of a kick, really appetizing. The portions are on the lighter side, but it works perfectly as a lunch. They have an amazing drinks menu, looks like a great place to have a drink in the evenings.

Yelp
Great food. Great ambiance and really great customer service. Liam, I believe is a server/bartender was an absolute gem. I'm visiting Glasgow and seeing a tiki bar in town, I was more than curious. It 100% was up to what and how I believe a tiki bar should be! The downstairs is being remodeled but is gorgeous and huge! The upstairs is just as beautiful. Liam had great recommendations and knowledge of the bar/restaurant too. 10/10 great customer service. Will absolutely recommend and go back to

Yelp
My partner and I check out tiki bars in new cities whenever we can, even when we're pretty sure the experience is not going to be all that great. This was the case for the Tiki Bar in Glasgow. Just the idea of a tiki bar in Scotland doesn't seem to fit together, but nonetheless we visited. Tiki Bar has some good things going for it. The entrance is pretty well done, and there are some interesting/unique mug offerings (which can also be bought to take home). Also, the guy bartending that night was really charismatic and chatted with us about our travels in Glasgow (and soon to be, Edinburgh). However, as far as quality of drinks and overall aesthetic goes, Tiki Bar does not have a lot to deliver. Really, this is just another place for people to drink and hang out in Glasgow. There are definitely enough tiki drinks to be hand on their menu, but the alcohol content is quite low, and that's sort of the antithesis of a good tiki drink. The aesthetic had some ok details here and there, but overall looked cookie cutter tiki. Interestingly, we realized later that this is sort of a chain, as the Auld Reekie in Edinburgh had the exact same interior, menu, mugs, etc. So if you're visiting both cities, no need to do both bars.

Yelp
What a fun place! I love a good kitschy tiki bar and this one's a winner in my book. The tiki cocktails were fun and really delicious--not very sweet, which I really appreciated. The outdoor dining area features a vintage airstream and lots of space. We wanted to sit outside but moved inside because the footie match was on and it was blaring--just didn't fit the vibe we were looking for when we walked in. Once inside it was fantastic. I had the spicy tofu dish. I need to eat a low sodium diet and it tasted a bit too salty for me because of that, but it tasted fantastic. It's surprisingly hot, though. My friends "jungle curry" was more like a ramen than a curry, but he said it was very delicious. The service was a bit lacking, but there seemed to be only one person running the front of house with guests seated upstairs, downstairs, and outside. All things considered he was working his butt off. There are also a few fun instagrammable moment which is brilliant from a marketing perspective. Pop your head inside an old timey diving helmet, or step into the coffin, die, and come back as the zombie you just drank.

Yelp
I love love looooove Tiki Bar! I love the theme, I love the cocktails and I found out a few months ago that I love the food too! So let's start with the theme - what could be better than kidding on you're somewhere exotic and scorching, particularly when Glasgow tends to be the opposite? It's got loads of interesting things about the place and I always notice something different each time I visit. The music totally fits as well, it's a really nice place to chill out! The cocktails. Ohhhhh my. They do make a mean White Russian (one of my favourites) but their cocktail list is so extensive that I think anyone would be able to find something they like! They certainly aren't weak either, and while some of them may appear to be a bit pricier than in other places, they are definitely worth it! One of my goals is to visit and have one of the really expensive ones :) And now for the food. Holy CRAP the food is good! We visited as part of the lovely Eilidh G's Cocktail Trail and I got the tempura prawns and then the pork fillet dish, both of which were so very tasty. I mean, I had consumed a fair amount of alcohol before this point, but I doubt they'd be any less delicious if I went in sober! And at £13.50 for 2 courses with the sweet, sweet Yelp check-in deal, it's also seriously good value for money. I'm pretty certain I'll be back here before too long - the only downside I can think of is that it is slightly further out from the centre, which is probably why I'm not in here more often! (Probably a good thing for my bank balance/liver, mind you.)

Yelp
I've been to The Tiki Bar for cocktails a few times but only went recently for food. I went with a friend to sample their express lunch menu, which is 2 courses for a very reasonable £8. We sat down and ordered ourselves some cocktails - a coconut grenade for me, which comes in a big cup shapes like a coconut and is so delicious! I ordered chicken satay for a starter, and chicken with chilli jam for a main course, but here's the twist - the courses came at the same time! The "express lunch" means that your main course comes in a bowl, and your starter on the side. I was surprised but it works, and its great value for money. The chicken satay was tender, but crispy on the outside with a slightly spicy, peanutty sauce. The chicken with chilli jam was pretty fiery and not for people who like their food mild, but it was full of thai flavour. Go for the cocktails, stay for the yummy and well priced food!

Yelp
Wandering along Bath Street on a Thursday night. You leave the bustle of the city centre Sauchiehall Street crowd and head into the theatre district of Glasgow. People grabbing a last minute smoke before entering the gods. Everyone trying to dress up for the night out but also putting enough on to stay warm. Tiki Bar is stuck in between these two places and it is facing some heavy hitters nearby. Bunker, Moskito and loads of others have established themselves in this area as "the" places to head to. However, if a crappy place like the Lowdown can make it here for a couple years - who knows. Tiki bar offers enough decor to make the point but I think they missed the point. Tiki is not about a couple raffia mats on the walls - it should be an onslaught of full on Polynesian Kitsch. The idea of Tiki was born in the fifties when people were buying cars cause they looked like bloody rocketships. Go crazy - it is completely allowed here. The drinks arrived and wonders behold - they are in real tiki glasses. Skulls holding a Gin and Juice, a Crystal god goblet with the Mai Tai, and a very undressed woman tallboy for the Pi Yi. It is very impressive that the glass ware is served for each drink, most bars of this type have abandoned this idea since the tiki glasses either get broken or walk out the door. The drinks themselves were very well made. This is not something to be just passed over - tiki drinks are fairly complex cocktails that require the right ingredients and a bartender that knows his techniques and materials. This guy was soft spoken which was a shame, since it would be good if he came out of his shell and could tell the patrons the wonders of these concoctions. The company was extremely pleasant and loads of stories were passed around. First time meeting Andrew M and the wonderful Administrator and this was a pleasure. Chris was holding court and then Jen showed up and made the table complete. A couple rounds in and then the one other issue with this place came to light. At 7 pounds apiece minimum, the evening could get a little expensive. 35 pounds a round this place definitely beats out The Bunker, or dare we say, the Corinthian for cost per round. So, maybe it is a starting point for groups. It is a little tucked away for that. Tough to see it as a place where you stay for the whole night. Would I go back? Not sure. I am unsure of the type of group I would take here. Maybe if it was nestled in the Merchant City or halfway up Byres, I could see this as a respite from pints in between pubs. Here on the Bath Street, the competition may not be as forgiving.

Yelp
Ok, so this place is awesome. Ok, I've said this before and i'm certainly not going to re-invent the wheel with this update. So yeah, why the update. Well, Tiki has pulled something out the bag that promises to be a rather splendid little night out. Every first Monday of the month, Tiki is inviting in a rawesome rum sponsor to take part in the Tiki Rum Night. It's free... it's awesome... it's informative... it's really hard not to buy another rum based drink at the end of the tasting sesh... Find the info. Get yourself along and enjoy.

Yelp
Alrighty. Where to begin? The style. It's bizarre. It's "eccentric". It's Tiki! Easter Island style statues adorn almost every corner (and fishtank) in here, and it just works. It does. I defy you not to smile. The bar downstairs in the basement area is small, but stylish and warm, welcoming and just very homely. I wasn't aware of the upstairs part until a similarly bemused looking Nicola C sussed it out. We headed upstairs to a large-ish restaurant area decked out in a similar style, with a smaller bar area nestled in the back. Drinks were duly ordered from the bamboozlingly big menu card. A Coconut Grenade arrived in my hand, after watching the barman combine bottles, ice, leaves, fruits, sprays and straws into a wonderful half coconut glass. It was a work of art. I felt guilty drinking it. But it was booze, so I did. Should also note, if you're not drinking, all cocktails are available in "mocktail" form - alcohol free and served the same way, a cracking idea! We were seated quickly, a nice window table in the corner, and after perusing the menu (and several photos being taken) more drinks were offered, and food orders taken. I opted for the Spring Rolls with a sweet chilli dipping sauce. I've eaten spring rolls from my local takeaways before, never contemplated having a dip with them. Consider my tiny mind BLOWN! The spring rolls were crunchy, well filled and extremely tasty. They even stopped me talking for a few minutes; fellow Yelpers will appreciate that. Also, like to point out at this point a bottle of water and glasses with ice and slice were deposited on the table without prompting, a nice touch I don't see very often these days. Much appreciated! With the starters done, time for the main. I took the pork fillet, sliced and served with a garlic and pepper sauce and jasmine rice, with some mixed veggies and whatnot. It was so nice, I even ate broccoli for the second week running. INTENTIONALLY. The pork was delicious, cooked just right and melted in the mouth, combined with the bite of the sauce and the beautifully cooked rice (be surprised how often that gets overlooked) it was a delight. A delight, I say! Service was superb, even allowing for the rowdy table full of folk that arrived after us. It's not somewhere I would have thought of heading for some food, given how bizarrely picky I am, but I really, REALLY enjoyed the food and atmosphere here and would definitely head back again. Colour me *very* impressed indeed. I would also work my way through the cocktail list, if I was in an adventurous mood. I probably will at some point. You have been warned, Tiki-Bar-People.

Yelp
Ah, love this place. Love the kitsch, love the food, and lovely staff! I had seen a few Yelpers give this place good reviews, and as I love Thai food was keen to try it out. Was nearby last night at an event, and so headed to The Tiki Bar & Kitsch Inn for dinner. We were in time for the pre-theatre deal, which was £13.50 for 2 courses. Normally I would choose dinner & dessert, however, I can never pass up a Chicken Satay starter, so starter and main it was for me. The Chicken Satay was delicious, and a very generous portion. Lovely moist chicken with just the right amount of peanut sauce (hate it when you don't get enough sauce). For main, I opted for another favourite of mine, Thai Green Chicken Curry. It was deliciously fragrant, coconutty, and generously portioned. The cocktail menu was to die for - so many delicious-sounding cocktails to choose from. I had a Coconut Grenade in the end (reminiscing of my youthful days drinking Malibu & pineapple - classy chick). It was beautiful! Really loved the presentation of the cocktails in fabulously kitsch pottery from Fireworks Pottery Studios. Would love a night out in The Tiki Bar to sample more of those cocktails! I will definitely be back here, and would recommend it to all!

Yelp
I'll be honest I wasn't really sure what to expect from either the menu or the venue at the Tiki Bar, it's not really a venue I have looked into that much...I amn't sure why. Perhaps because I always assumed it was kind of a student bar....as did my 20 year old nephew which didn't inspire me to really investigate the bar further. I am pleased to report however that this assumption was wrong and it is a pretty funky little spot which is not packed to the rafters with students. Or at least the restaurant wasn't, I never ventured into the bar. Located on Bath Street Tiki bar & Kitsch Inn as you would expect is a bit of a retro heaven, there are giant tiki heads all over the place (including the fish tank!), funky vintage prints on the emerald-green walls and cocktails served in faux coconuts and tiki glasses. The only thing that was missing in this little island hideaway paradise was Elvis sitting in the corner serenading me with Can't Help Falling In Love, a la his movie Blue Hawaii. Upon arrival the first thing I was informed by my friend that they could do any cocktail as a mocktail, what can I say the girl knows me well. I immediately set about the large intimidating cocktail menu and just decided to order the Coconut Grenade because I liked the faux coconut the drink was served in....don't judge me, we all enjoy drinking out of a faux coconut and don't even try to pretend you don't :-) I actually couldn't tell you a great deal about the staff, they were pleasant and attentive enough but nothing that really stood out, other than the waitress very kindly guiding me away from ordering the hottest thing on the menu by accident which was greatly appreciated. The food at the Tiki bar & Kitsch Inn is described as Thai Food, here is the thing I am not a huge fan of Thai food but there was more than a few things on the menu that I quite fancied trying, so I would prehaps describe it as Thai for beginners.Tiki To start with I opted for the Sweetcorn Fritters, when then arrived there were 5 large flat fritters on the plate accompanied with plenty of sauce. The fritters were really good, they were crunchy on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside and every so slightly greasy but I think fritters should be slightly greasy so they totally worked for me. The sauce was sticky and had a little heat in it but not too bad, the crumbled peanut over the top of the sauce added a really lovely crunch and texture to the dish. Excellent start to the meal and I would definitely order again...in fact I could have taken a second portion on the night. For my main I was going to order the Pla Tod Yum which was described as - Crispy fillet of coley dressed with fresh mango and cashew nuts in roasted chilli, lime and lemongrass sauce. Which to me sounded delicious, but as soon as I ordered it the waitress immediately said in a very helpful and friendly manner 'you do know that's the hottest thing on the menu?' Excellent advice and I changed my order to the Coley with Three Flavoured Sauce which was described as Lightly battered coley topped with onions, chilli and tamarind sauce giving a slightly sweet taste, served with Asian vegetables and jasmine rice. The dish looked and smelt incredible when it was derived to our table so I dove straight in (after taking 200 pictures of my dish naturally!) The generous portion of fish was beautiful and flaky, the batter was incredibly thin and light The sauce was at the very top of my comfort heat wise but that didn't take away from the amazing taste of the lovely aromatic sweet sauce and the rice was sticky, light and just the right portion size. A really really great meal with great friends. As an added bonus to our lovely night we checked in with out Yelp App when we were there we got 2 courses for £13.50....result! As there was a wee group of us I didn't want to take a picture of the receipt, but if you were to go along and pay full price for the meal I had, including cocktail the cost would be £22.20 (because of the deal my meal cost £20.50) I would definitely visit here again for food it was a lovely atmosphere and pretty delicious food.

Yelp
Being honest I was not sure what to expect and also was a bit unsure whether I was going to like the tiki bar for food. I had been for drinks before and thought it was fine, but had yet to taste anything from the menu. It's a strange sort of place. Other reviews have described it far better than I can. My summary of it would be would be that decor wise it's a weird mixture of South sea islands and Hawaiian styles. (Maybe that's the same thing, I ain't sure) They have slightly risqué pictures of ladies on their menus alongside guys in Mexican (I think) wrestling masks. They serve thai food and loads of cocktails in strange glasses. Hopefully that conjured up some sort of image for you. Probably slightly confusing, but that's because I don't think this place fits into one particular bracket. On to the good stuff. They have a huge cocktail menu and I am told they are great. They also do mocktails and fellow diners confirmed they were good. Thankfully for those (like me) who are not in to either mock or cock versions, there are beers on draught. I had a bitter and twisted, but they normally also have toasted oak ipa, sadly they were out of the i & g that night. Now the superb part. The Thai food was bloody great. I had calamari to start which was a huge portion. It had a lightly dusted coating of batter and came with green Mayo. It was cooked to perfection. For mains I went with a massaman curry and rice. It was rich, flavourful and indulgent. I thoroughly enjoyed it and thought the beef and potatoes were cooked really well. To summarise I would say it's a good place for a meal or drinks. Somewhere a bit different, but doing great thai food. Certainly worth trying if you have not been yet.

Yelp
I visited here for a meeting one lovely Glasgow afternoon (I lie, it was probably raining). While I waited for my companion to arrive, I looked over the food menu as I was totally starving and hadn't ever had the opportunity to eat here before. The place wasn't too busy so I was able to nab an awesome booth which are super comfy and a good place to get on with business chats without being distracted. I opted for the chicken satay ayam - skewers of marinated chicken, grilled and served with peanut sauce and cucumber relish. These are offered as a starter for a two course lunch, but I actually just fancied one course so they doubled the size of the starter portion for me - cheers! I love chicken satay and this didn't disappoint. Perfectly cooked with lashings of sauce, I sped through skewers 1-4 and then really struggled to finish the last two. It also comes with a wee mound of rice which is perfect for soaking up excess sauce and chicken. Yum. While I wasn't partaking in cocktails this time, I love their options and love how creative this place is. It is definitely somewhere different to visit - whether for a night out or even just a meal.

Yelp
I love the decor in here, is it tacky, yes, but it just kind of works. From the music playing, to the TV in the back playing ocean scenes (think Hollister), to the tiki bar and the tiki man statue. The cocktails don't come cheap, around 7-8 quid, but they are oh so good. To the point where they taste like juice and not like rum. (Or maybe I just can't taste rum from my times spent drinking rum when I sailed.) The menu is pretty extensive and the bar itself has loads of different spirits, so you could easily ask for a twist. I had a mai-tai and 2 scarlett sunsets. Both were very fruity and filled with ice. The reason this is a 4* and not 5* is the lack of cool glassware. In the images on the cocktail menu and from other posts on instagram, they had really cool tiki based glasses for serving. Although, given how busy it was on a Friday night I can imagine this is the reason! Having said that, I did get a cocktail with an umbrella in it, so I can't complain!

Yelp
I have to admit, Bath Street isn't somewhere I've ventured often since leaving my twenties behind (gulp), so when my friend suggested going for food here I really did wonder what sort of below par student grub they'd serve up! First thing to note is that I'm not always right in my assumptions! The menu (which is the same regardless of whether you're on a deal or not (we were on 2 courses for £14 though I later noticed the Yelp check in offer of 2 for £13.50), bonus point for that!) is plentiful of choice and I was really impressed by the knowledge of the staff when my friend asked about the spiciness of the Thai curries; we were given a full run down of the base paste to intensity of flavour (green being the mildest, then red, then yellow being the hottest). Me being a bit wimpish opted for the red Thai chicken curry while my friend had the yellow Thai coley curry (she had said she was craving spice and spice she got! Nose running kinda spice lol, I couldn't help but chuckle but that aside, she thoroughly enjoyed it, as did I mine), both served with the perfect side portion of sticky jasmine rice. Prior to mains we had ordered the chicken satay ayam and king prawn tempura, and were brought complimentary prawn crackers and chilli dip while we waited, yum! Sadly we both had our cars so couldn't indulge in the funky cocktails on offer but I did ask if they could rustle up a fruity mocktail for me which was the perfect thirst-quencher! Just a quick (ish) note on the place itself as I do think it's quite an odd layout; from Bath Street you go downstairs to basement level where, to the left is outdoor seating and inside is the bar. You then go back up internal stairs to the restaurant, which, in my view is sadly a bit tired and not really sure of its decor identity - random paintwork, tropical fish, leather seated booths, rustic wooden bar - so this sadly is where they lose a star from me. Excellent food however so will happily venture back!

Yelp
When we arrived for a midweek meal we were a bit worried that the place was empty, even the bar area downstairs seemed to have only one other group enjoying a drink. However, we'd booked a table, so we headed upstairs to take a look at the menu. Fortunately it wasn't too long before a few more groups arrived, and I'm certain it must get busy at the weekends. We started with a few cocktails. I can particularly recommend the Big Bamboo, but it's quite strong! Or group of four ordered the prawn tempura, the chicken satay ayam, the fishcakes and the salt and pepper squid. The tempura was perfect and I'd go back just for that. The fishcakes were also great and had a really unusual (but good) texture. For mains we ordered a couple of Beef Massaman curries, a Thai Red curry and a Thai Green curry. All came with generous portions of jasmin rice. This food is why I wanted to come here - I'd never eaten Thai food in Glasgow before. Naturally, that makes it hard to compare to the competition but what I can say is that it sets the bar really high. Everything was delicious.

Yelp
Downstairs is the bar. Upstairs (but still bringing in drinks from downstairs) is the restaurant. It's a limited selection of food, but all the menu items (mostly Thai) we ordered were quite tasty. The drink menu has some great classic Tiki recipes, all served in the requisite funkly glassware and crockery. My dinner mate had two Mai Tais. I had a Gin Juice (which apparently is a thing) and a Zombie, and quite a pleasant (though pricy) time of both. While the atmosphere is has zany elements, it's not as over the top as you might expect. Service was personable. I'd go there again, for food and drinks, or just drinks.

Yelp
Went here on a last minute lark recently and was extremely delighted by every single moment. Tried a few things on the Thai menu -- the options are limited but every single thing is delicious and made with love. Service was friendly, helpful, and fun. The cocktails were fantastic, each one more creative and delicious than the last. The atmosphere was exactly as it says on the tin - kitsch. Unapologetically. It's the perfect place to get a fab meal and amazing cocktails. You can easily sit here all night having a laugh in the convivial atmosphere.

Yelp
This is one of my favourite bars in Glasgow. On any night out I'm the one nagging everyone to go to tiki bar....and I think I've a point, it's amazing! Both the bar and restaurant are on different floors. I've visited the bar the most but have been for food upstairs. The menu is Thai dishes and every time I've been it's been lovely. The king prawn pad thai is a favourite, tons of flavour and amazing prawns. Value wise it's excelent, with most dishes coming in at under £10, with great portion sizes. Now on to the best bit...the bar! The decor of the bar is brilliant, the closest thing you'll get to a tropical getaway in Glasgow. There's some weird and wonderful decorations, and the miniature football table in the bar is brilliant fun after a few drinks. Cocktails are the speciality here, and all come in amazing tiki mugs (one comes in a coconut stye one). The cocktails, though pricy, are perfectly made and you get your money worth in alcoholic content. They're a must for any rum lover. Even if you're not the biggest rum fan, the bartenders can make any cocktail for you, and quite like proposing their own creations. This bar for me is the best on Bath Street, and one of the must visits on any night out.

Yelp
Finally! A place in Glasgow where I can get a cocktail served in a hollowed out pineapple. Or a skull. Or a hand carved tiki flagon. Hidden in plain site on Bath Street (I walked past it at least 3 times before finding it, you'd think the Easter Island head outside would give it away but it seems magically camouflaged) the Tiki Bar is an excellent and exciting twist on your typical cocktail bar. The cocktails that I tried were all delicious, even the infamous Zombie (limited to 2 per person) with it's six different shots of rum. You'll need a sweet tooth to get the most out of them, but thankfully I have a whole jaw full so every Sherbet infused sip of my Blue Hawaiian was a treat. We got free popcorn at our table too, which was a nice touch, and the staff were incredibly helpful and always on hand to help us choose. Granted this may partly be down to the fact it's just opened and they want to make a good impression, but here's hoping they keep it up. My only worry is that it is maybe too hidden. We were there on New Year's Eve and the place was only half full. It's such a fun place for a few drinks, it'd be a shame if more people didn't take notice.

Yelp
I don't quite think I've been to a themed restaurant as devoted as Tiki bar. Flat out Tiki fun from the onset and an impressive cocktail menu to boot, Tiki Bar is just the place for Thai food and cocktails. Seriously, there's a Tiki haven just waiting to be found on Bath Street and you should pop on down to experience the joy that is the indoor palm tree, an almighty collection of large Tiki heads and that irreplaceable feeling of drinking from a coconut. I'd heard snippets about Tiki's impressive cocktail menu and just couldn't wait to try it for myself. What's that you say...You're not in the mood for alcohol? Or you're driving? Fear not, the Tiki bar staff will whip you up any of the cocktails alcohol-free. - I loved that I got all the frills of ordering a cocktail when I chose the coconut grenade in mocktail form. - The shaking of the shaker and the pouring of interesting bottles which peaked my curiosity; all the excitement of a delicious concoction coming to fruition. The cocktail magic unfolded as I sat perched at the bar, until...ta-dah, ladies and gentlemen: one coconut grenade. It was delicious and refreshing with notes of passion fruit and lime, and I glugged it down. Service was attentive, speedy and friendly. The food? All kinds of delicious! I went for the corn fritters to start: lightly battered fritter of sweetcorn, onion and coriander. These deliciously delicate corn cakes, with classic Thai flavours, made for the perfect little appetiser before the main event; The Thai Yellow Curry. With a coconut milk and turmeric sauce, coley fish throughout and a helping of jasmine rice, the dish was akin to a Thai green curry, albeit with a spicier kick thanks to the Tumeric. - Dreamy, creamy, Thai heaven. I am far more inclined to stray from the ever faithful Thai Green chicken for something a little different in future as the Yellow Curry didn't disappoint. Since the cocktail is an essential part of the Tiki experience, I just love that staff go the extra mile to have everyone join the fun, with or without alcohol. Also, anywhere that has a ladder to navigate their bar - which, yes, is shelf after shelf of liquor! - is somewhere I want to spend a heck of a lot more time. Tiki Bar, I do like you!

Yelp
After reluctantly admitting that I am now too old to throw some shapes at The Garage, I went to The Tiki Bar to celebrate my birthday this year and I wasn't disappointed. I swear the owners created this place specifically for me as it combines three of my most favouritest things; kitsch 1950s/Hawaiian décor, Thai food and sickeningly sweet cocktails! Some might say it's an odd combination but I'm up for anything that dares to be a bit different! The food is fresh and delicious and I will be salivating at the memory of the massaman beef curry for years to come! We booked a table ahead of time but when we arrived our table wasn't ready. We didn't complain and were happy sit in the bar and have a drink while they prepared our table. You can therefore imagine our surprise and delight when we were presented with free desserts after our main course for "the inconvenience"! If you are thinking that you couldn't possibly manage dessert after scoffing a starter and main course please just find a way because these desserts can not be missed! They are perfectly petite, light and equally as fresh as the main courses. I highly recommend the cheesecake! The cocktails aren't going to be to everyone's taste. As a name like "The Tiki Bar" suggests the cocktails are super sweet and tropical. A must try is the Rum Bungo, based on the classic fruit juice of my childhood Umbungo. It's nostalgia in a glass! I say glass, it was served in a miniature totem pole! A must avoid is The Zombie! It is made with 5 different kinds of rum and as if that's not enough......Absinthe! Death....in.....a....glass/skull shaped mug.

Yelp
Got my introduction to the Tiki bar thanks to the lovely Lizzie F! Have loved it ever since. It's the closest thing you'll get to a beach bar in Glasgow (without having the sea beside it - I should put a disclaimer here that it is NOT near a beach.) It just could be, if you get what I'm saying. Relaxed, cool and jam packed with wacky cocktails, it's great fun for a night out. It made a name for itself selling the infamous Zombie cocktail, which is served up in a totem-sized chalice. Not for the faint of heart, the staff will only serve you a maximum of 2 zombies before you've had your fill. It's pretty potent since it's got a hearty amount of alcohol in it. Many an interesting night out has started with the phrase "So, I went to the Tiki bar and had a zombie...." As much as ample cocktails give you a great excuse to get wrecked, the Tiki bar is nevertheless a classy place to go, with good tunes, well prepared booze and delicious delights from the Kitsch Inn's kitchen. Those blue rinsed portraits from the 70s and old movie posters stare down at you from every corner, giving it a throwback feel that would be well suited to a rockabilly style night out. Good fun, original and high standard drink make the Tiki Bar a great place for a night out for locals and visitors to the city alike.

Yelp
I have been here a number of times and it has never, ever let me down. I'll break down my review, as it is both a bar and a restaurant... The Tiki Bar Seriously good cocktails, served in amazing glasses (cue numerous uploads of selfies with cups raised to Instagram!) - my favourite is maybe the Rum Bongo...maybe...so many to choose from though! Nice area outside for a smoke and also to sit in if the seldom spotted Glasgow sun lifts its head, but cool, chilled atmosphere inside for when its lashing down. Feels like you could be in a beach hut! On Friday and Saturday nights it can get quite busy, but everyone I've met here is really friendly (or just sloshed on cocktails) so don't let the crowds put you off. The Kitsch Inn Looking for a spot to grab lunch one day, I found this place listed on 5pm.co.uk, and on yelp I noticed the reviews were pretty solid, so we headed in. I was a bit put off at first as the place was dead - but nicely decorated. We got a seat at the window and were immediately warmly greeted and a bottle of water and lovely spiced prawn crackers were brought over. The express lunch deal for £8 is a steal - includes a starter and dessert. I've tried pretty much all of them and my favourites are the Crying Tiger Beef salad, the Chicken Satay, the Massaman Beef Curry, the Chicken with Chill Jam and the Coley with Three Flavour Sauce. I think it is a sign of utter professionalism that when I booked this place for my work's Christmas lunch (after recommending it) that their standards did not slide one iota, even though it was busy and I know many restaurants where they can be sub-standard at Christmas time. The food was really well-received all round with no complaints (and I have some very foodie loving colleagues!) and the cocktails were had by the bucketload. We were also pleasantly surprised (or reminded rather!) that we were getting a 10% discount on our lunch as we had booked before the end of October - so of course we got more cocktails! My colleagues that know I'm a yelper told me to put up a great review also as they thoroughly enjoyed the place, the atmosphere, the food and the drinks and will be returning! I only hope that more people visit as it can be quite quiet in the restaurant at times - and it shouldn't be! The service and quality is top notch, so please try it out and spread the word!

Yelp
Amazing little bar we found through friends for a quick few drinks before our gig at the O2, which turned into a few cocktails! Handy little point to know, that this bar is just around the corner from the O2 abc. The coconut grenade is a must try! Wonderful music, quirky little things to find around the bar, and the bar staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, they really do know their cocktails well which is always a nice thing to see. Will definitely be here again x

Yelp
Time for an update on this review. After our sad experience some weeks ago, I was contacted first by a Yelp member, who would make sure that the Tiki Bar understood how the deals worked and apologised the incident. Later that week I was contacted by the owner of the place, who also apologised the incident and explain a little why and how it got wrong. I was pleased with the professional service we received after and I am happy to know that complaints and unfortunate episodes are taken into consideration. After our dinner we made our way downstairs for a few cheeky cocktails and here I got really impressed. The bar staff clearly knows their products and managed to serve 6 different cocktails each balanced to perfection. Downstairs the staff was friendly and welcoming and managed by all means to save the rest of our evening. ----------- Sadly sitting here with a few friends, excited and hungry - checking in to Yelp gave us a check-in offer with 2 courses for 13,5 pounds. Happily asking the waiter to use our promo and was told that we had to book in advance. As this was the first time I've seen this thing I accepted. I then read on and activated the promo and realised that it had nothing to do with pre-booking. We therefore asked again and got the worst attitude, I tried to explain while the waiter walked away and when trying the third time at the bar I was told that it would never happen. Sad experience and ridiculous way to treat a fair question. Thumbs down...

Yelp
I just kept thinking of Grease 2 and the Rock-A-Hula Luau (Summer Is Coming) track. Well a-wob-bob-a-hula Rock-a-hula-rock-a-hula luau, luau, luau, luau A-wham-bamma-lamma Shanga langa langa langa luau, luau, luau, luau Rah rah Rydell Whama lamma lamma lamma rock-a-hula-luau! Wow! Join in with me! Er... well maybe just in my head then. Anyhoo I had heard about it and read through many of the Yelp reviews therefore I was very keen to rock-a-hula on down there. So when my friend suggested cocktails for her birthday I was about to say Tiki when she got in there before me. Yasssss! Good choice! It was much smaller than I thought, maybe I was expecting a bar by the pool. Hmm!! I think I'm just needing a holiday. Anyway, the bar was tucked underneath another bar on Bath Street called the Kitsch Inn, both bars seemed to be linked together. The Tiki had a straw and bamboo bar in the corner of the room with seats dotted about in the rest of the space. A DJ was dolled up in Hawaiian shirt given it all exotic dance type beats opposite the bar next to us with his Hawaiian honeys hanging round. I surprisely didn't have any cocktails as I was a bit skint as I found the drinks to be rather expensive. My friend though had a few piña coladas and was happy when they came in nifty ceramic pineapples. Very cool! We also got free popcorn in tin cans which was very unexpected rare treat. Good experience and would definitely rock-a-hula back there again.

Yelp
Great cocktails, nice food and great atmosphere. This is one of Glasgow's best cocktail bars. They have a great cocktail menu with some incredible creations ranging in price from £6 to over £100. Normally served in beautifully shaped glass or stoneware cups these become rare due to theft so they now ask for a deposit. Good selection of beers with West's St Mungos, Blue moon on tap along with a few nice bottle in the fridge. One of the best places you can visit in the city if you enjoy your rum. Not cheap but great cocktails. The Kitch Inn upstairs offers great food and lovely atmosphere. We settled down a group of 8 for meal. The food was all beautiful, not the biggest portion size however it was very tasty. Full bar selection is also available up here which makes for a great night. Both areas are exquisitely decorated and have a fantastic feel to them. The Tiki bar can get very busy and has many fans who will spend long periods of time in there.

Yelp
Cocktails!! Before I write anything else I vow to return here to both sample the food and to have a better sense of what I've ordered. Safe to say that my first visit here won't be my last though, I'm a sucker for a Tiki bar and walking in this place didn't disappoint, all the usual hallmarks of wonderful tackiness are evident. But we were there for cocktails and I can confirm that their Mai Tai is wonderful, not too sweet, and with enough of a kick to remind you that you aren't just drinking a soft drink! I'd love to write more, and tell you about the cocktails my friends have but... well I can't because.. Cocktails!!

Yelp
Great tiki bar with fantastic drinks and food. Don't forget to ask what the current drink special is.

Yelp
There are so many bars on Bath street that it would be easy to walk past this one and head to another. DONT DO IT!! Do not walk past. This place is a total gem, fuelled with a passionate mixologist who sources only the best ingredients, which is evident when you sample the menu. If you're curious he will tell you all about your drink and educate you on how he came up with the menu. I was particularly taken by Tiki's SIngapore Sling and their Mai Tai (which i got the pleasure of making myself during their masterclass). Tiki has a very relaxed, holiday atmosphere which is just what you want when sipping on a refreshing cocktail or beer. The next time i visit will not be on a school night and I will be trying the Zombie cocktail, I hear its fruity flavours disguise its major alcohol content. This place kicks the bahookie of TGI's, and you don't have to queue to get in or pay over the odds prices. Tiki is my new favourite Haven, see you there.

Yelp
For my sister's birthday, she and I toddled on over to Tiki for a few lovely libations, dragging our mother along for the ride. Tiki is officially the home of awesome. If you love cocktails, and especially rum (which I surely do), and you're willing to spend a bit of extra money on quality, this is the place for you. The average drink costs about £7, the zombie costs £11 (limited to 2 per customer for the knocking of ones socks off), and there are a couple of drinks designed for sharing between 2 or 3 people that'll set you back £20. Make no mistake, when it comes to cocktails, you really do get what you pay for. So, we had a Volcano for sharing, which comes to you on fire. Gotta give the guy points for dedication, because it looked for a moment as though he'd set his hand on fire in the process of making this for us. Twas spectacular - and the barman was unharmed! Sparks and everything (not sure what they add to the burning over-proof rum to make it do that). We also had a Zombie each, and a Missionary's Downfall, a Piña Colada, and a very rummy Mai Tai. All were delicious, strong, fantastically presented and created with an element of theatricality. That's how you know you're in a great cocktail bar! Needless to say, mumsy was a wee bit worse for wear on leaving... she doesn't drink much, bless her cotton socks. My sister and I emerged satisfied and victorious! And then bundled our mum into a cab. ^^ The complimentary popcorn was a very nice surprise too, and essential if you want to keep your wits about you. Make sure you ask for some when you go!

Yelp
I first visited the tiki bar for my friends hen night and I was hooked.. The cocktails are amazing and come in the most amazing glasses.. The kitch Inn up the stairs dies the most amazing thai food, I can recommend all ofcthe starters as they are all good but I tend to stick to the prawn phat thai for my main as it is delicious.. I have brought lots of friends and they have all loved it.. It's also great for groups.. I've had birthday nights and work nights out here and have never been let down.. Can't recommend it enough.. My fav place in Glasgow..

Yelp
The cocktails are something quite special. Suble flavours, blended perfectly, just 'Mmmf!' My Pina Colada (indeed like the song) came served in a darling little ceramic pineapple. I love that; not many places would trust their patrons with cute glasswear. I agree that I'd have liked to hear more about the cocktails themselves. The only thing I caught was '...well we don't have that so we used Lilt instead.' Still, the tastiest drink I've had in a good wee while. I do think they should've played some actual lounge music. Trust me, a little bit of Yma Sumac or Martin Denny would kick the tiki vibe up a notch and set the mood perfectly. Hell if you're going to have blowfish lampshades and straw matting on the walls, really have at it. I have to say, it was lovely meeting a few Yelp regulars. (Hello!) A smashing wee establishment, I do hope it sticks around. (I resisted the urge to make any puns about 'leis'. I think I deserve a medal for that..)

Yelp
I love love love this place!!! I would spend all my time here if I still stayed in Glasgow. It totally sticks out of the general bar scene here! It is awesomely decorated, and on a little bit of a higher scale than everything else on offer......... explained perfectly well by the cocktail on the menu that is over £100! A totally ridiculous indulgence I hope to enjoy *one day*!! The staff are so friendly and good banter. The cocktail menu is good, drinks are a little bit of the pricey side, but I would so much rather spend it here than some sticky-floored generic 'go-to' Glasgow bar! They also play BRILLIANT tunes. You cannot help but shake your moneymaker! Overall an utter winner!

Yelp
Went last night for a couple of payday cocktails and made the long trek up Bath St to sample the Tiki Bar's concoctions. I tried a Gin & Juice and a Rum Bongo and also sampled my friends Coconut Grenade... we didnt get any free popcorn - gutted! We were the only people in there, and whilst it was a Tuesday, it was payday Tuesday so I expected at least another few people in there! The cocktails were gorgeous and the music fab, I loved the decor - Tiki overkill! I agree with my other fine Yelpers re the location, I would have gone here sooner or frequent it more if it wasnt such a hike, maybe a good place to start or finish a night. Would I go back? Knock a couple of quid of the cocktails and we'll talk.

Yelp
This place has a lot going for it: chilled-out atmosphere, good events (Rum Uni on the 3rd Monday of every month - a tasty education!), lovely staff and a convenient city centre location. My husband and I popped in for Rum Club last Monday, not really knowing what to expect and we were surprised by how much we learned about rum and how well the tasting was organised. We also had our tea at the Tiki Bar, which meant fish cakes from the starter menu and the chicken with chilli jam main dish (SO tasty!). I found the menu refreshingly small - sometimes Polynesian or Pan-Asian joints can clutter up the menu with far too many choices, but that certainly wasn't the case at the Tiki Bar. They managed to offer a tempting range of starters, mains and desserts and fit it all in a two-page menu. My straw hat goes off to them for that!

Yelp
I love cocktails and I love rum so this could never end too badly for me. I love the novelty of having all the cocktails in the big fancy themed glasses. It's not cheap but it's great for the occasional treat and I had loads of fun both times I was there. My friend and I went recently and we shared a volcano, for £20 it kept us going for a while and was well worth it for the excitement of seeing a drink arrive in a bowl shaped like a volcano with the top ON FIRE! We ordered at the bar and had to wait nearly 20 mins for it despite the fact the bar wasn't very busy at the time (maybe 5 other tables of people). So the service wasn't great in that respect but the reggae music and chilled atmosphere helped keep me care free (plus I hadn't seen the aforementioned friend for a few months so we had loads to catch up on). The other occasion I was in the Tiki Bar was upstairs for a work Christmas party. We had a buffet, mostly thai food -I've never eaten there otherwise so I don't know if that stuff is on the usual menu or if they only do it for function buffets but I remember the food was fantastic. So to sum up, there are a couple downfalls like price and wait time at the bar (cocktails aren't quick I guess!) but I'd say it's worth it. There's not many places you can get a proper cocktail like they do here!

Yelp
I'd never even tried the cocktails, let alone the food. my pal and I were greeted with a friendly face as a female member of staff took us to a table at the window. considering it was one of our rare sunny days, the window was wide open. as a non smoker I was concerned that smoke would drift in, but as the seating for smokers seems to be round the corner a wee bit, I only caught a wiff once or twice... I can deal with that! we both had starters, mine, the corn cakes, we're better than mine- so happily chomped on them as my bud scoffed his ......... oh, help, I think it was tai fish cakes!?!? they went down a treat, I was informed!! we ordered cocktails from our friendly bar woman.. a navy grog for me and a zombie for my pal YUM! I, myself, don't like to be rushed through my dinner, and our server had a great knack of just ensuring we weren't wanting for anything, and being right on time for drinks refills, or when she served our mains.. my companion had the tai green curry, and I had chicken and rice with veg.. I asked for a tad more spice to be cooked through it all, and it was just right for me. (I'm certain it had a nice name, for the dish.. but of course... cannae mind it!!!) we tackled another couple of madly named cocktails, enjoying them each time with gusto. I really liked the coconut thingy (served in half a coconut shell!!) yeah, liked it here. nice atmosphere, comfy seats, pleasant staff and good nosh n drinkies ;-)

Yelp
Rubbish service ended up walking out. There were several bar staff on all having a carry on rather than serving customers. Eventually one of them served the customer behind us instead. Looked overpriced for what it was anyway.

Yelp
I've been there twice and both times it was really good! The first time was with my boyfriend and truly a good experience. We had two courses and some cocktails. The food was good, the staff was kind and a good atmosphere! Second time was with a friend. It wasn't as good as the first time. The food was still as good. But I got served the wrong dish and maybe the new dish came a bit too quick.. This restaurant is differently worth a visit!!!

Yelp
I went here last week for the first time and loved it. Perhaps not the place to go to on a frequent basis as it packs a fairly hefty price for a cocktail however, said cocktails don't lack for alcohol content and they come in uber funky glasses. I had a Mai Tai, which was very nice and has two or three types of rum in it. I wavered between that one and a Rum Bongo but eventually decided that a cocktail with that name would probably taste like juice and perhaps get drunk down a little quickly. The bar's zombie sounds like it might blow ones mind with 5 different rums and absinthe in it and a disclaimer that no more than two will be served per person. My friends guzzled down a pina colada, blue hawaiian and a coconut grenade. Apart from the fabulous cocktails, the decor is distinctly like being on holiday on a hawaiian island, with bamboo, wicker chairs and "palm trees" kitting the place out (just dont look out the window at the Glasgow rain!). The barwoman serving at the time was playing the most awesome playlist of vintage 80s/90s-ish tunes. Need I say more? Yes? Complimentary salted popcorn - I rest my case.

Yelp
Had I not been asked to meet friends here, I doubt it would have caught my attention. A proud 'Yelp' sticker is slapped on the front door and with the 4-star review average, I can see why they would do this. My experience was a bit more average altogether though, with little to no room to move in the place and a good 5-10 minute wait at the bar every time. I quickly gathered that this place is primarily a cocktail venue and so the staff aren't just cracking open cans of lager and handing them over to the punters. Have to say, the cocktail I tried was excellent and modestly priced compared to some of the others. Would have tried more but I was turned off by the request for a £5 deposit for the swanky glasses they were offering up. Tempted to go again during the week, where a glance at the food menu on the website is rather enticing. Plenty of other places to go on Bath Street make this place a hard sell with the price of the drinks, where I didn't manage to get anything for under £4.

Yelp
The decor its what you would expect and is probably "fun" I found the cocktails to be overpriced, seemed to have little alcohol but the staff were friendly. Wouldn't be in a rush to go back

Yelp
Anytime the urge for an ultra alcoholic drink which tastes like fruit juice and comes in a weird glass hits there is no place I'd rather be than the Tiki Bar. Their super friendly staff serve up the cocktails in their custom made glasses, and they do it with a whole lot of flair. At busy times it can take a while for them to mix the drinks. But the wait is very much worth it. If you're feeling particularly brave (or reckless) go for my personal favourite, the Zombie.

Yelp
If i stayed in Glasgow i would be in this place every single day of the week! We went on a sun and it was only us and another couple in the place this was around 6:30/7pm but all the more cocktails for us! I loved the decor and laid back feel. Bf had two mai tai's and they tasted divine, the glass was huge and lasted a good while. I had a pi yi and a coconut grenade yum yum. You get free popcorn to munch on too and it was salty rather than sweet as other reviewers had mentioned. I loved the novelty glassware and the barman makes the best cocktails i have ever tasted!, So if you're swaying at the price of the drinks don't be put off because they are so worth it! We gave him a tip for the service and said we would be back next time we're in the city he said it tends to get busy fri/sat so give it a try then. The bf also got a free shot of rum before leaving :) It was through yelp we chose to go here and i'm glad we did we shall be back!

Yelp
Monday night and we had been out for dinner, were in need of another drink so stopped by. There was an event on later but that was ok as we had previously been to similar events here. So what to say, good place, nice atmosphere, very relaxed with what can be best described as eccentric music, good range of beers and the usual stuff, didn't eat this time but have in the past and the food is pretty decent. Well worth a visit

Yelp
I didn't know anything about Tiki bars until I read Andrew C's review on this establishment. I think he got it spot on. It's quirky and cool, but the interior ultimately seemed a bit dull and the bar was lacking in atmosphere (maybe I was just there on a bad night). They just didn't go far enough for me. This place could have been sensational, but really it's another cocktail bar on bath street, it's just wearing weird clothes. The cocktails are good and there's some quite unique offerings. Yes they are expensive, but you get plenty of bang for your buck. I'll come back here. It'll be great to bring friends visiting Glasgow and offer them something a bit different/gimmicky, but we'll probably just stay for the one.
