Tiki Shores Inn & Suites

Where do I start? The good: Location is amazing and rooms are quiet and fairly large. The bad: Rooms are FILTHY, with little attention to detail on how the rooms are maintained. The ugly: Our toilet broke and has not been fixed for 2 days, fortunately we had two bathrooms in our suite. Also, one of the mattresses had an unknown red stain on it. Moral of the story, we will be looking elsewhere next year to find accommodation for our summer holidays.

The pro's are that Tiki Shores has a great location across from the beach and the front desk staff were very nice. We travel to Penticton every year and needed to try a new hotel that would allow a dog. |Unfortunately there were just too many cons. The cleanliness was atrocious. I really wish I took photos. The "freshly cleaned" room had the dirtiest floors ever! Our feet were black so we took some lysol wipes to it. They turned completely black as well, and we only made a small improvement. We wiped the room down and the dirt that came off the surfaces was scary. My nightstand had dried sticky coffee spilled all over it. The toilet had a 2inch black rim around the top of the bowl. The couch had liquid stains and one of our mattresses had a stain as well. We probably did the next guests a service, as the room was probably cleaner than they would have received it.|2days in, one of our toilets had an issue that we told the front desk about. They advised they would send maintenance but nobody came. Luckily we had a 2nd bathroom, so we had 1 useable toilet for the last 2.5days for 4 people. Im sorry Tiki Shores, but something needs to change. We will not be back.

Tiki Shores had amazing front desk service. This was the first time we had stayed here. It felt like our questions were being answered by someone who was actually concerned that our family had the best stay that they could offer. |The beach is right across the road from the hotel. The Cambo Beach Restaurant that is attached to Tiki Shores had great food and friendly staff. |Great walking paths along the beach and pet friendly too 👍.

For the price, the size of the room (2 bedroom and kitchen) and the location with convenient parking it’s honestly a very good stay and deal for a family. The beach is literally right there, the parking is in front of your room door and the pool is nice too.That being said, there’s a few things you should be aware of that other people mentioned in their comments. The bad smell other mentioned is true, it’s on and off smells like laundry that stayed in the washer. The AC/Fridge are indeed loud. The overall cleanliness is not so great, but I believe the beds and sheets were clean and that’s kind of all that matters in the end.

Jim. Had a great time. So close to Lake Okanagan. Perfect. I had a Beach Burger and Poutine at Tiki Shores attached restaurant. Food and service was great. My 3 night stay was a very good experience. I will be back. Cheers!!

The room definitely needs updating but isn’t bad. I’d rate the cleanliness a 7/10 because some areas were missed. The thing that bothered me the most is that they use a top sheet as your fitted sheet which moves around and gave my friend and I an icky feeling about sleeping on the bed. The blankets didn’t keep us warm they were very thin. I really think they need to invest in some actual fitted sheets, better mattress protectors and just the bedding in general. The front staff was very nice and seemed to genuinely care about the motel.

The whole room and patio needs a full deep cleaning. Our utensils were sparse, silver ware tray / drawers dirty, cob webs and dust everwhere. All windows including sliding patio doors were filthy. Our BBQ area was full of dust, grease / grime and bugs; BBQ utensils dirty from previous guest. When we asked for someone to come clean the BBQ and patio, they did a quick wipe of the BBQ sides but left all the in behind filth and grime all over the BBQ. If they swept the patio, they did not pay attention to all surfaces. The bed skirt was filthy, in behind furniture and under the bed disgusting. The property outside is also filthy, sidewalks, stairwells, doors and parking lot. There is a broken railing that could severely cut someone on the back stairwell. We chose to stay because of the location but also no other availabilities. Won't stay here again.

We’ve stayed at Tiki Shores a few times over the years and always enjoyed it, sadly this will be our last visit. I had read some recent reviews unfortunately, they were right. Any issue will just be brushed off like they don't care. Reception girl never mentioned there was a maintenance issue in our room—we only found out after settling in. We also tried calling the number listed on the app turned out to be someone no longer works there. Garbage bins on the property were overflowing most of the time and we found stains on sheets and towels. This place used to be a favorite but it really seems to have gone downhill. These two stars are for the location and delicious restaurant Cambo beach on property. Overall motel itself has no care about guest experience and feedback.
