Best things to do in Hanoi, from hip to historical - SilverKris

"A one-Michelin-star dim sum restaurant located high above the city on the 36th floor, offering a more elevated and atmospheric dining experience than the chain’s compact Hong Kong outlets and making for a memorable, date-friendly spot with city views." - James Wong

Tim Ho Wan is a great spot if you’re looking for classic dim sum that’s tasty, consistent, and affordable. The menu isn’t huge, but what they do offer, they do well. The baked BBQ pork buns are definitely the highlight — crispy on the outside, soft and sweet inside, with a rich char siu filling. The har gow and siu mai are fresh and flavorful, and the steamed rice rolls have that perfect silky texture. I also enjoyed the turnip cake, which was nicely pan-fried and full of flavor. The setting is casual and clean, and service is generally quick and efficient. It can get busy during peak times, but the turnover is fast so the wait isn’t too bad. Overall, it’s a solid choice if you’re in the mood for dim sum without breaking the bank. I’d definitely go back.

On our first day in Hanoi, we visited the Sky Lotte Observation Deck and then stopped by Tim Ho Wan. The food was absolutely delicious, and the view from the restaurant was stunning. We ordered a variety of dishes, and everything was fantastic. The service was also excellent

Good Dim Sum original from Honkong. Price not too high with 5 stars interior design and 5 stars services. Red pork baked bun is very good!!

This restaurant has a spectacular rooftop view toward Tay lake. Food is good overall but isn’t that impressive. There’s better choice out there for Chinese cuisine. Service is fast and reliable. It’s worth give it a try but If I am really into Chinese cuisine, I wouldn’t come to Tim Ho Wan regularly, only once in a while.

I usually go to Tim Ho Wan in Bangkok. But the one in Hanoi has fewer menu. Still, food is delicious and price is reasonable for service and restaurant’s atmosphere. It is relaxing and you can enjoy view. Tables are usually full during lunch and dinner. So, you should make a reservation.

I asked for napkins and I was told to use linen. Male manager or server was a bit arrogant and rude when he was serving. Employees seemed cocky. I think great service starts from hospitality. Being cocky doesn’t make it premium especially for this type of family restaurant. Foods were decent but it wasn’t as good as other Tim Ho Wan branches in Singapore and Hong Kong. View was nice. We asked for a window table we couldn’t sit at the table near window even though there were plenty of empty window tables.

Its hard to find good dimsum in hanoi versus in ho chi minh city. But Tim Ho Wan in hanoi is fairly decent. The view on the 36th floor is amazingly stunning and the service is quick and attentive. Food is typical tim ho Wan dimsum dishes and doesnt disappoint. Very nice place to bring guests and family
