"Part of Lanzarote’s UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, the 52-square-kilometer volcanic Timanfaya National Park is known for its Montañas del Fuego (Fire Mountains), where subsurface temperatures reach up to 1,100 degrees Fahrenheit (593 degrees Celsius). Eruptions as recent as the 18th century have produced a Death Valley-like lava landscape. The artist César Manrique designed a tourist center here as well as the El Diablo restaurant that uses geothermal heat to cook traditional Canarian dishes."

This place is a sight to see the terrain is lava fields and mountains and really feels like you’re on an another planet. A tour of this place is only in a car or coach as the terrain is extremely challenging to be on foot. All in all it is a sight and a pleasure to experience. There’s also a lovely restaurant that uses the volcanic heat which is still present below ground to roast their chicken. Yummy

We arrived 15 minutes before the park opened to avoid the queue, and I believe it was the best decision, especially considering the long line that had formed an hour and a half later when we left the park. Entry to the park costs 22€ per person, and payment is in cash only, so make sure to have some on hand. After entering, we boarded a bus for a 40-minute tour. The views were breathtaking, and I recommend sitting on the right side for the best views of the landscapes. You can take as many bus tours as you like since the entry fee covers unlimited rides. Additionally, you can see geysers and chickens cooked with lava. They look juicy and delicious, but you'll have to wait until lunchtime (12 PM) to taste them, and the area might be overcrowded at that time. Overall, it was a fantastic experience well worth the 22€. I highly recommend visiting Timanfaya National Park at the beginning of your stay in Lanzarote. The beautiful landscapes, black melted lava, and orange-tinted volcanoes are truly awe-inspiring. 🌋

Amazing day out with lovely friends as a birthday 🎂 treat for me. Everyone was very friendly and kind. Had a coffee at the cafe to get a little rest. Took the bus 🚌 tour which was really interesting to see the unusual nature created by the lava flow and the history about the volcano 🌋 I would highly recommend it if you want to go up to see it.

If going by car be prepared to wait .We waited an hour to get in , be prepared and take a drink .Best time to visit early morning or afternoon or better still go by bus as they don't have to queue. It's worth the wait though . Wouldn't recommend bus tour if you are nervous about being a passenger if not it's a must and the drivers are excellent

Short south timanfaya tour. We had very comical tour man, was very friendly. The children loved holding hot rocks and watching the geysers and how the hay got set alight in the ground they were amazed they also loved how the food was getting cooked by the volcano. they didn't enjoy the tour on the coach to the volcano and it's surroundings they did go to sleep but us adults enjoyed the experience. We even had the pleasure of meeting the camels.

Do not go at lunchtime. We waited for 2 hours to get in. At 2.30 pm there is no wait. We went on a weekday. 22 euros and includes the coach trip. It isn't exceptional as the landscape is all around you. You do, however, get the chance to see craters. Bus trip is 35 minutes. And you need maybe 15 minutes afterwards to see 2 other volcanic experiences. Toilets available at the top. Is it worth it??? Well, it's a different experience, so I would say yes. Ypu are simply higher up and can appreciate the landscape more. Good luck.

Incredible location, it would be amazing if they had a foot tour rather than just the bus. I understand why they don't let people free roam this park, litter, stealing, vandalism, I'm sure this would happen. However being restricted to just a bus to see this site seems like a shame.

Well worth a visit. Go early to beat the crowds. Can be quite a queue of vehicles but it is well worth the wait. Superb views and a multilingual bus tour through the lava fields and up the side of the caldera on unfeasibly narrow tarmac road.
