We didn’t plan to eat in Timber Room. We were just walking around the area and my sister got hungry. So we’ve decided to try out the place. I walked in and asked the bartender if we need a reservation and he was very polite and said no, as they were not busy that day. So we got seated and ready to order. My brother-in-law wants the 32oz wagyu steak prime rib and so does my sister. Good thing the server explained it to us that one order is good for 3 people. So that’s what we did and we also ordered a couple of food. Although the steak is quite expensive but it’s worth it! We had great experience. The service and the food is perfect! We will definitely be back when we visit Telluride next time. Dine in on 09.27.2022 at 6:50pm

1st night of opening for the season and everyone was still trying to find their vibe but service was top notch and the food was fabulous. Some items were not available but the servers were super accommodating and so nice. We would absolutely come back.

The Timber Room wasn't opened when we first visited Mountain Village in December of 2020. It's located within the Madeline hotel and they did a fantastic job with the layout and decor of this establishment. The Timber Room is definitely a great place to visit in Mountain Village if your looking for a higher end apres experience after a long day of skiing or hiking.

Had a great experience. The food was spectacular! We had the Branzino which was perfect as was the Beef wellington. Highly recommend the deviled eggs.

Google
Thank you, Reuben!!! —- Absolutely incredible experience, I went here over the course of a week and Reuben made the occasion memorable for my time in Telluride. Reuben gave great recommendations for hikes, food, and most importantly, he makes very tasty cocktails!

Google
The experience was superb! The food was incredible, each bite more delectable. Everyone was welcoming and paid great attention to every detail. We are going back again tonight. Chef Zachary came out and personally described each dish, his spirit behind the creations and answered our many questions. Can’t wait to go back tonight! Sadly the Executive Chef and many of the great people who made the experience so wonderful have all left. We won’t be going back, they were made it worth the dining experience.

Google
We paid $600 for what we were told was a wagu and ended up to be Cisco quality steak We thought per the photos that is was a farm to table. Frankly I have been sick after leaving the place. They placed this in cooked meat with pathetic un flavorful poor quality sides. No serving utensils. The knives could not cut the hard tough meat. Disgusting. My son left the food untouched. I forced myself as it was so expensive, I thought perhaps something’s is wrong with me. I asked for serving ustensile 3 times. The food was cold Don’t go

I'm a lush and I can recommend Reuben's cocktails. Gin selection was solid and wine selection was exceptional.

Yelp
Amazing ambiance. Great place with great drinks. Excellent for apres ski and the crew here never disappoint.

Yelp
I'll start by saying that Timber Room was so good, we ate there two nights in a row, even though there were so many other options! Vibe - upscale, mountain sexy. If I were single and lived in Telluride, I'd literally just pop myself in a couple nights a week to sip wine in the lounge-style seating area to soak in the atmosphere and meet some new friends. Cocktails - out. of. this. world. I had the gin drink and my partner had the Woody Manhattan (their take on a black Manhattan). Both were phenomenal. Wine List - seriously, I was so impressed with this list. Not only was it EXTENSIVE, but there were a LOT of reasonably priced, very good bottles. Bartenders - Ian, Ruven, and Lilly were all incredible. They were attentive, engaging, knew the menu, and, again, the drinks were on point! Food - hands-down, their charcuterie board is the winner here. The selection of meats and cheese was excellent and the quality was right on par. Elk tartare was unique and smokey, and the trout rillette was *chef's kiss.* There were only two disappointing items: The flatbread - Ruven pointed out that it wasn't exactly "flat," but we ordered it anyway. It was thick and pretty dense compared to what you're expect. The second item was the baguette served with the charcuterie board - it was very stale. As someone who LOVES bread, I was disappointed that it didn't match the rest of the experience, especially because good bread is clutch for a chacuterie board.

Yelp
Nice atmosphere. Great place for Apres ski. But I would rather head in to telluride for dinner if you could. You pay for being at a mountain village hotel restaurant. Really nothing to write home. Overpriced for its food quality in my opinion. Def asked when they said market price! I was shocked by its price for a 32oz ribeyes for its quality. I def had better same size dry aged bone in rib eye for cheaper at a nice steak restaurant.

Yelp
We stopped by Timber Room for a little après-ski evening for our group of 4. We were promptly seated and given multiple options for seating. We opted for a lounge seating on one of the available sofas. All the appetizers and cocktails we got were delicious! The Burning Passion and Timber Sour were fabulous! There are three options for the eggs, you can pick caviar and black truffle, pork belly or pappy van winkle roe. We all decided to go with shaved black truffle and caviar. The devilish eggs with caviar was delicious. We also shared the Roasted Bone Marrow, as seen on the picture it comes with quite a bit of food, perfect to share with a group. The marrow were very well prepared and perfectly paired with the wild mushrooms, lemon salad and toasted sourdough! We will definitely come back next time we are in Telluride.

Yelp
Looking for a cocktail during happy hour, we tried the Timber Room of The Madeline Hotel. So happy we did! Max was our bartender and made our time their fun. I have to say I was very impressed with his knowledge of the various spirits, especially bourbon, tequila, and gin. The Timber Room has a great selection of spirits and wine - probably the best I saw in Telluride, Aspen, or Vail. Drinks were also very reasonably priced for a resort. My wife tried the Buffalo Trace Old Fashion which is created using a Japanese Drip Cold Brew contraption. Very cool and delicious! On Max's, recommendation we tried the boneless fried rabbit strips. It was cooked to perfection, tender, and juicy. However, if I had it to do over again, I would have them put the honey sauce on the side vs. over the rabbit. I think the sweetness took away from the flavor. Still good though and we appreciated Max's recommendation.

Yelp
As soon as you enter, you feel like you're in the coziest, most elegant family room. Tables are lower and chairs are comfy and plush (booths and traditional tables also available). The server, Trish, was welcoming and friendly and gave us great descriptions of all the menu items. I don't eat meat and she suggested options that were beyond delicious! Try the tacos, the pickled onions were the best part. My bf had the elk loin and said it was superb. The spicy passion fruit margarita with the smoked orange slice was one of the best margs I've ever had. Trish let me sample 2 wines so I could make the best choice. Great atmosphere and out of this world food and service. Highly recommended!

Tonya W.

Yelp
We dined for my husband's birthday and had a fabulous experience. The food was fantastic. Three of us shared the elk loin with huckleberry sauce. It came with sides of carrots, potato puree, and brussle sprouts. I learned you can also order off the Black Iron menu. We had the gnocci and pork cheeks from that menu. The flavors were phenomenal. We ended our meal with the chocolate budino, which I would not have ordered from the menu description, but our daughter works there and knew it was for the chocolate love in us. The service was top notch with everyone being genuinely nice and friendly.

Yelp
Great spot for après ski. The ambience seemed cool, and the menu looked great. They also had some inviting tables outside, so we chose this spot our first night in Telluride. You'll probably want a reservation. They seem to have limited seating, if anything at all, for walk-ins, unless you are staying at the Madeline Hotel. Some seats at the bar were open, so we dined there. We would have loved to sit at one of the tables outside, but we were told they were not available (although they sat vacant the entire time we were there). My husband got a Moscow Mule, which was fine. They had some great cocktails on their menu, but I chose a draft beer. I was disappointed they didn't have a Tivoli Brewing beer on tap, which was on their menu. The bartender said they hadn't had that one for four or five months. Menus should probably be updated. We shared the fondue for two, which was expensive for the portion size, but it was good. We really enjoyed the restaurant ambience, and the service was good. We would probably return with a reservation next time.

Yelp
Great dining experience, although the restaurant was not open Ruben took care of our family. The cocktails were truly out of this world. Highly recommend, will be back!

Yelp
Timber Room is amazing! We stopped for a glass of wine one afternoon and liked the atmosphere so much we decided to return for dinner. We sat in the bar area for one visit and more of the dining room for the second, but it's very casual. Lots of couches and individual chairs, but our table and chairs were incredibly comfortable. Their dinner menu is set up where the entrees are meant to be shared between 2-4 people. We decided to order the chicken after our server, Trish, recommended it. Chicken is hit or miss, but wow was this chicken amazing. I think Trish actually undersold it! I think it's the best chicken I've ever had. It was super flavorful and was not dry at all. It came on a massive wooden platter and was surrounded by a bunch of veggies (potatoes, onions, sweet potatoes, and a few others). It was plenty of food for 2 really hungry people and pricing was extremely fair for the quality and quantity. We had Trish as a server both times we visited and she was great! She was very helpful with the menu and wasn't stingy with the wine pours. 10/10 and we'll definitely be back when we return to Telluride!

Yelp
Located in the beautiful Madeline Hotel in Mountain Village, the Timber Room feels like an extension of your living room. With different types of seating, and an a fireplace, open air atmosphere with large fire pits outside, this is a great restaurant to come share some apps, enjoy a custom cocktail and lounge in the welcoming ambiance. The menu is quite expensive, however. They encourage you to share dishes as they are quite large. We ordered the flatbread which was delicious, the "Madeline's" which were lightly fried and also very good, and the king crab dip. I would recommend all 3!

Steve H.

Yelp
Super disappointing. Came here a year ago and my rating would have been 5 stars, steaks were huge and sides were plentiful. This time around the 32 oz ribeye "for the table" they assured us would feed all 6 of us, the sides were enough for 2 people at most, came in tiny bowls rather than on the cutting board like the past. Steak was good but got about one bite each. Drinks are great.

Nancy H.

Yelp
We ordered the halibut which came with a beautiful roasted vegetable platter. The vegetables were delicious. We sent the halibut back as it was over cooked. It came back OK. We filled up on veggies during the wait. The staff was accommodating and comped a cocktail vs a dessert for his birthday dinner. Probably should have ordered steak as it was prominent on the menu but we were looking for a change up.

Cassie Y.

Yelp
This was our second time at Timber room and we were slightly disappointed on quality for the cost. Firstly, the tables are so tiny and the plates are huge so it really makes for an awkward eating experience. We got the deviled eggs which were good but nothing out of this world. The lobster bisque was my favorite thing- it was creamy but more brothy than typical bisque and had a great flavor. The tartare was the big disappointment. Really soaked in Worcestershire sauce, you couldn't taste anything else. Bone marrow was good but not the best we've had. Drinks were decent but nothing special. Burnt cream was like a crime brûlée dish that was pretty tasty. Overall for over $200, we were disappointed

Yelp
Great service, great vibes, and great fun drinks & spicy margs! It's $$ but Telluride is $$ so to be expected. Love this place and will be back.

J L.

Yelp
Fun restaurant! Wonderful cocktails and delicious dessert. Servers were attentive and bartender was kind and knowledgeable. Indoor and outdoor seating. Fun place to grab a drink or treat yourself to tasty treat! Or, stay for dinner. Memorable experience. Outdoor seating is simply amazing!

Julia B.

Yelp
if i could make it a negative zero star i would. i generally do not write poor reviews but the merit of this restaurant certainly falls into the category. from a hummus board having an odd centered food choice, to missing parts of what was labeled on the menu for the charcuterie board, to a falsely advertised meat choice "wagyu" when the cut of meat was a new york strip, coming around at the same cost.... chewy, tasteless. to the awful accoutrements of the steak, a bland purée, and vegetables that felt partially cooked mixed with a tremendously under-seasoned liquid sauce. sad. as we looked at the yelp photos that the restaurant provided on this platform, and they had absolutely nothing to do with what we were served. as someone who has been to many of the auberge collection hotels and restaurants this is not only appalling but disappointing.

Yelp
We absolutely loved this place! My wife and I were visiting Telluride for Christmas/New Years and we stopped in here a couple times after skiing. Both times we sat at the bar and were greeted by the most friendly and skillful bartenders (I forget their names, but the one gentleman had lived in Scottsdale for several years and the other was from Florida). We had the confit/buttermilk fried rabbit, which was so incredibly good that I had to order it again. We also had the trio of deviled eggs, which where were also incredible. The many cocktails made by the bartender from Scottsdale were spot on. This was one of our favorite places to hang out after skiing. Everyone here was so friendly... from the staff to the other patrons. It just made for an incredible overall experience.

Kelly M.

Yelp
Agree with some others here. Beautiful, fairly recently remodeled, modern atmosphere. The drinks were high quality and delicious - especially the peartini. So enjoy those two things, because the food service away from the bar and the food itself were mediocre at best. Not to mention everything was overpriced simply because it's attached to this expensive hotel. I ordered salmon and they were out, so the waitress recommended the halibut instead. We said that sounds great, but we wouldn't know because after an hour of waiting, it never arrived. The fondue was bizarre. Watery cheese sauce, plain potatoes, red onion chunks (awful), and tough to chew artichoke chunks. The meat was a hard salami of sorts which is better suited for charcuterie rather than fondue. Although the presentation was nice, the chocolate cake was bland. The only tasty item was the lobster bisque. So enjoy apres ski, but the rest is not the best food for such high prices.

Michael A.

Yelp
Great upscale mountain atmosphere, best in Telluride. Interesting and tasty cocktail selection. Delicious food. Tremendous addition to the Mountain Village.

Travis G.

Yelp
Horrible service! Placed an order and 50 minutes later asked the manager about our food. He said he would put a rush on it. Then came back to ask how I wanted my steak prepared? I told him to cancel it and offered to pay for the drinks. Only reason it's getting a 1star is he wouldn't take my money for the drinks!

Beau C.

Yelp
Terrible and too expensive for what you get. I don't mind overpaying for food but eating at a small bar table for 7 people is crazy. $50/person cover just to get in

Sandy M.

Yelp
Food was outstanding . Service was horrible . Had to keep asking for more water . Asked for bread 3x. Plates were not cleared away . Took extended time to get the check .

Dave J.

Yelp
The cocktail was excellent. The rest of the food was lousy at best. Unless of course you like salmon which is incredibly fishy, and tartar which has the consistency of jam. And where do I begin about the deviled egg which is literally seven dollars for a half a hard boiled egg. I'm all in favor of good margins for the restaurant, but this was marketed as something exceptional, but I could've bought two dozen eggs for that price! Many much better food options in Mountain Village and Telluride.

Sergio W.

Yelp
Hmmmm. Atmosphere trendy. Good vibe. Food ridiculously expensive even for a ski resort. Food o.k. - again $100 for a $20 serving of salmon a bit much. $20 for glass of wine from a bottle worth $15 a bit much. Service very disjointed - each server unaware of what their colleagues are up to. We found other restaurants suited us better.

Eric S.

Yelp
Sooooo good. The elk and bison dishes were some of the best things I've ever eaten. The staff were also really excellent. Not cheap by any means; but worth it.

jim a.

Yelp
Had a great experience at TIMBER ROOM. Our server, Felipe, was fantastic and the food is exceptional! I recommend sitting outside for sunset and having the roasted chicken and vegetables, incredible! Came here 3 nights during our stay in Telluride Mountain Village. Jim A

Lesa J.

Yelp
The Timber Room has a cool resort vibe. The outdoor area is nice w the right weather. The bar is great but always full to capacity as is the restaurant. When making a reservation make sure you ask for a real table and not a couch and side table. We had a large party with three side tables pushed together. I ate on my lap. The food took a long time to be served and after over an hour there was a mishap in the kitchen and we had to pick another entree. The food was good but there's a lot of great places in the area w better service and less crowds. Pierce was the best part of the place. An attention to service more than rest.

Tony M.

Yelp
So this establishment hit all the marks perfectly. From setting the reservation, to providing us with a pair of reading glasses, to the outstanding cocktails and entrees. Everything we ordered was perfect; one of the best meals we've had in a long time. A great experience. Outstanding service. Highly recommend.
