Review of Timbrell’s Yard
Our recent two-night stay at Timbrell’s Yard was our second visit, and while the hotel boasts a perfect location, there were areas that fell short of our expectations for a boutique experience.
The views from our room were lovely, but we were met with an overpowering damp smell that detracted from the overall ambiance, despite the cleanliness and tidiness of the room. This might not seem significant, but it’s an issue that shouldn’t be overlooked in a hotel of this caliber.
The main disappointment, however, came from the lack of attentive service from the staff. In a boutique hotel, one typically expects a personal touch and a higher level of care, but this was noticeably missing. For instance, despite leaving a note requesting room cleaning, it was overlooked on the following day. Additionally, during our meals, the restaurant staff did not check in to see if we were satisfied; we ended up leaving after dinner without anyone attending to our request for the bill.
Our first breakfast was also marred by mixed-up orders, resulting in one of us eating alone, which is not the experience one should have at a supposed four-star establishment.
Overall, while our stay was pleasant enough, it fell short of the exceptional experience one would anticipate from a boutique hotel. With a bit more attention to service, Timbrell’s Yard could truly shine.
