The Tim Club is an excellent place to stay. The staff are friendly and the rooms are clean and a good size. It is also in a great location for the Hermitage and the rest of the historic centre. Reading the reviews on here I cannot help but think people are expecting 5 star hotel and 3 star prices. Yes, the hotel is on the ground floor and the windows open out at street level. Yes, you have to use a bin for toilet paper, but these are Russian drains not western ones, so it is not unusual. If you want a big breakfast, get it at one of the many coffee shops nearby. The reception staff are really friendly And helpful. They can organise cheap taxis too.||The price is unbelievably good, so don't expect too much. We were very happy and it was far better than we expected for the price. We loved it and we will be back soon. ||

8 room hotel at semi-basement level.||It is not near the main street, Nevsky Prospekt, though it is very close to the Hermitage and church of Spilled Blood. So location is not perfect, but still good.||The mini-hotels looks stylish and well taken care off at first sight. Staff (very young women) is mostly friendly and speak A little bit of English.||Rooms and towels are cleaned each day, bathroom has luxurious feel and includes heated Floor and heated towelrack. The shower however looks like an average 3 star shower.||breakfest is reasonably complete; some fresh fruit, eggs, sausages, buckweat, toast, orange juice (not fresh), milk (sterilized) with assorted cereals, jams, honey, butter and some Cream cheeses. ||Ok for 3 stars, but not special. Space is limited to 2x3 seats, so a bit crowded at times. Breakfest time from 0800 to 1000.||There is complimentary tea and instant coffee in the breakfest area - the espresso and capuchino machine will set you back a steep 100 ruble.||Overal, the price is ok and I've seem worse 3 stars.|But as a 3.5 star hotel it falls short.||• rooms are not properly soundproof, as the doors do not properly sit against the frame and rubber. There is quite some noise in the small main corridor.|• the mattrasses are too soft and LONG overdue for replacement. Borderline dirty, not comfortable at all.|• shower needs A deepclean, should lose the shower-curtain and ... the water-handle. It is very inconvinient as it moves towards you and thus you easily bump in to it|• Limited hot water for shower in the morning|• No toilet paper in the toilet - you need to use a separate bin ... yuk|• the is an undocumented sausage limit of 1 for breakfest. Also, you are expected to leave the breakfest area at 10 o'clock sharp|• the 100 ruble price for coffee is rather steep - machine is not that special nor is the coffee. Similar coffee is free in other hotels|• ventilation is ok, but you might want to open the window for some fresh air - this Will mean a bit of a climb. They should install an easy handle on the inner wall|• tv reception is poor. No International stations, lots of static|• no wardrobe or mirror next to shoe rack, so you cannot check your attire before leaving and no place for your jacket

We loved this place -- turned out just as advertised. Only eight rooms and partially subterranean. The rooms are smallish but have windows, and the location and orientation make it quiet and easy to block light -- a good thing because it was light 20 hours a day during the White Nights. Ideally located just a couple blocks from the Hermitage and the Neva River and a few decent restaurants. Breakfast was only passable. Staff had some English skills, but was helpful with taxis and other needs. This was a high-touristed time of year, and the rates here were very reasonable. The place was perfect for us.

Excellent location – only 5 minute walk from the Hermitage. As a 3 star hotel this is a very good choice. Hotel is very small - only a few rooms, so the feeling is like a family. Although the hotel is located in the basement of a historic building, it is possible to say, only looking out the window. The interior is very pleasant; room was spacious and modern, equipped with a refrigerator. The hotel staff is very responsive. In addition it should be noted though that breakfast is served only as a continental style and they are relatively modest.

Location absolutely can't be beat. It's about as central as it gets. Five-ten minutes walk to Hermitage, the Russian Museum, Dvortsovaya (Palace) Square and basically all of the central St. Pete's must-sees.||The hotel is in the basement, you see the street and feet of people walking by. There is light enough, though. The room was on the smallish side - personally, I think that you don't need a wardrobe that big if you are a sightseeing tourist. Bed was comfortable and wide. Bathroom was clean, shower pressure could be better. I guess it's because it is an old 19th century building and installing modern plumbing systems could be a problem. Same idea explains the sign over the toilet bowl: "Absolutely no throwing the paper in. Use the bin"||Breakfast was there with boiled sausages, porridge, buckwheat, some crackers, tea, coffee, etc. No thrills, but keeps you going for a while.||Staff was polite and ready to help. Cleaning was there every day. There is a fancy walk-in through the wall of a dark gateway to the courtyard))

The hotel is located centrally in the city for the ones that like to walk around new cities. You have every tourist place really close. If you don’t like walking Uber can do the job for you really cheap. ||||Rooms are new and very clean and cozy (nice bed, robe, sandals). The staff is the best, always smiling, trying to make your stay comfortable. Don’t hesitate to ask them anything. ||||They should probably make a better entrance (sign) as you may not find the door right away. That being said I would definitely come back to this hotel if I visit SPB again. ||||PS. Breakfast is included. Everything needed to put some energy in for a long day.

The hotel is located directly near the Neva and Hermitage museum, geograpically the best place. However, it is located in souterrain, the rooms are nice and clean, but! you are not allowed to through toilet paper into the toilet (the trash is being taken away every day, but stil...) and you see the feet of the people, running at the street. The breakfast is not good (most of us went to Nevsky for some coffe). The people at the reception are nice. As we asked for the taxi they called an inofficial taxi driver, which was twice or even more as expencice, as a normal taxi would cost.
