My wife and I had an incredible breakfast experience at Times Square Diner & Grill. From the moment we walked in, the service was timely and welcoming. Our food came out quickly and was cooked to absolute perfection—honestly, we were blown away by the quality, especially considering how affordable everything was. I ordered the walnut cheese-stuffed French toast along with eggs, potatoes, and sausage—every bite was rich, flavorful, and satisfying. My wife went for a bowl of oatmeal topped with seasonal fruit, which was fresh, vibrant, and beautifully presented. The drinks were just as impressive—the cappuccino and hot chocolate were both excellent, perfectly balanced and comforting. If you’re in the area and want a delicious, reasonably priced meal with great service, this spot is a must. Highly recommended!

It wasn't crowded on the Saturday night in October we went, so our party of 4 was seated right away. The host and our server were very friendly and attentive to our needs as customers. The food was good for three of us. However, one of us found hair in her food. The staff was very responsive and replaced the dish with another meal. Unfortunately, the meat on the replacement had an "off" taste, so my daughter did not finish the second meal. My hope is that our experience is not the norm. Because we appreciated the customer service, I would give the Times Square Diner & Grill another chance.

Google
Times Square Diner & Grill serves burgers, wraps and sandwiches 🥪they also have all day breakfast. We had burgers with sweet potatoes n coleslaw 🍔 n they were big portions, reasonable prices for food but not so much for the alcohol. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The restaurant has a bar and some tables. It’s located close to time square. Overall recommend it!

Google
Is there anything better than an old-school NYC diner? The Times Square Diner is the best diner in the area. I had the Florentine omelet (spinach & feta); my friend had their burger - we were both very happy!

Google
Cozy diner that’s pretty close to port authority. I got the avocado toast and it’s one of the best I’ve ever had! It was around $15, not too affordable but worth every penny. I would definitely visit again! 4.5/5 stars from me!

Google
Came here for brunch today. Food and service more than exceeded expectations but you do pay for it. It is expensive but just need to remind yourself It’s New York City so nothing is cheap here. The best value for money here is the coffee! Free refills! If you like pancakes, you’ll love them here! Yummy! Portions are huge so you won’t go hungry later after a feed here.

Google
We were looking for a diner serving good (late) breakfast. Time Square diner was recommended. A quaint little diner with satisfying aesthetic. We are so thankful for the experience! The food was fantastic. Two people from our group ordered their delicious Eggs Benedict. We were all more than satisfied with our meals. Steve was kind and attentive and went out of his way to make us feel welcome. If we lived here full time the Time Square diner would be a regular.

Google
We just went in there randomly and we were lucky to get a seat! They served us so incredibly fast, faster than any other restaurant in New York. The stuffed french toast was amazing!

Yelp
Was in in the mood for a steak without spending too much or eating too much with trying to get LDL down so ordered for delivery their hanger steak. It was a delicious and very tender piece of meat cooked just right ; ample enough, with excellent sides for a price that most UES joints would charge double for. The chicken noodle soup that came with it was as good as any Jewish deli soup in the neighborhood.

Yelp
Went while hubs waited in line for tickets at the discount hub. I was in line when the host/mgr came outside to see if I was alone. (I had my little dog). She ushered me over to the bar. A warm cup of coffee in a great little space. A small breakfast, then off to the bustling city

Yelp
This is what I think of when it comes to diner food. Place has diner vibes, staff were friendly and attentive and the food was great. NYC diner food is the best. Would definitely stop by again!

Yelp
New York diners are the best and we rarely miss an opportunity to stop at one. We were in town for a conference and came here for breakfast. We sat at the bar and service was very good. Our omelets with breakfast potatoes were filling and delicious and we would definitely try them again. It's a great diner and we definitely recommend coming here!

Yelp
Our go-to comfort food, literally at-home place. Especially these cold days! Are usually: chicken soup (divine - love the long noodles in it); turkey club (I have to break it apart). Recently with out-of-town guests visiting, we made our usual order from here, plus a BLT, tuna salad wrap, and sweet potato fries. Our guests couldn't ask for a more "NYC meal experience " (their words). The delivery via GrubHub is amazingly fast. We look forward to an in-person visit - to comment on the ambiance, but, from the gallery, it looks NYC-perfect.

Yelp
Quick service? Yes Friendly staff? Yes Good vibe? Yea Seasoned food? Heck no!!! Ok so being from the south- we know some good food. This place simply did not have it. It's quick and easy to order and get your food but have they ever heard of salt and pepper? You ever go somewhere and you can tell the chef took time to prepare the meal and gave it some.....lovin. This place just missed it, totally. It's affordable and quick but it is nasty. No other way to put it.

Yelp
In town for a few days, visiting New York City! Decided to walk to breakfast from our hotel. Came across the Times Square diner! Very cool inside with an almost subway like look. I had a beef Gyro and fries, and my husband had the regular breakfast of eggs, bacon, potatoes, and toast. Both meals were very large portions.!! I had so many fries I couldn't even eat half of them! The beef gyro was very good with large pieces of steak! Since the steak was so large, I actually needed to order a little extra tzatziki sauce to make sure it was all covered. Very tasty!! Our server Alex was great and every employee was accommodating. If they saw you had an empty plate on your table, they removed it immediately. They continually got us extra coffee and diet Pepsi Without ever having to ask for it. Couldn't ask for better service! And everyone was so polite . Highly recommend it!

Yelp
Cute little diner with excellent, fast service. Stopped in for bite after seeing a show late on Sunday evening. Seated quickly, visited by waitstaff quickly. Most impressive was how fast the food came. Hot & delicious! Some got breakfast, some dinner, some just got apps or soup. Everyone was pleased with their meal and we were in & out under an hour. Which was perfect because we had a long ride home. Definitely reccomend if you're seeking a quick bite.

Yelp
was very slow service, & didn't act like they really wanted us to be there. waited a long time to be able to pay & leave. the atmosphere felt very dull & almost tense like my partner said the mozzarella sticks were okay, nothing exciting, but the wings he got were exquisite the strawberry french toast was stuffed with walnuts & cream - which comes as is - so sadly was unable to eat it, & the strawberries tasted like they were out of season. besides the bread, which was okay. the scrambled eggs were decent, but nothing exciting

Yelp
Best Diner Breakfast in the City I am a lucky person because I could have my breakfast anywhere at any cost in NYC, but I chose Times Square Diner every time. The welcoming staff, the great service, and an extensive choice of perfectly prepared and delicious food makes it the best. Nobody cooks a more perfect egg plus any other menu item than Oscar. And all the staff are happy to be there and to be serving you. I HIGHLY recommend it. You will not be disappointed. I am from Nashville, Tennessee but am in NYC very often and always visit The Times Square Diner.

Yelp
Excellent customer service, nice seating, food came fast and was excellent. I ordered the California omelette w/ home fries. Also a small cup of salsa roja. The omelette ingredients were extremely fresh. Everything came together beautifully. The home fries were seasoned and fried perfectly. Came with toast but I didn't need it. Salsa roja is SPICY. It complimented my omelette. No wait time. Definitely would return.

Yelp
I ordered the beer gyro and it was delicious. The fries came on the sandwich but I took them off and ate them separately. Yummy fries! The waiter always kept our water cups full and our food came out pretty quickly. The restaurant and bathrooms were both clean. The only reason I'm giving this 4 stars is I found a hair on my plate. Luckily it wasn't touching any of my food, but that was quite unappetizing to spot.

Yelp
We're looking for a spot in theater district between shows and this place was perfect. No wait on a Saturday early evening. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Narrow space with warm walls and decorations. About a dozen tables and seating at the bar. Chicken Cesar wrap was large and flavorful. Fry servings are large and Cajun fries have a nice amount of spice/heat. Carrot cake is more of a carrot loaf split and filled with frosting and whipped cream on the side. Very yummy! Moderately priced for NYC.

Yelp
"From the moment my wife and I walked in, Leo and the staff made us feel right at home with their warm and inviting hospitality. Leo offered helpful recommendations and was patient as we took our time deciding what to eat. He made sure we had everything we needed. The portions were generous, and the staff was attentive, checking on us regularly without being intrusive. We felt comfortable and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. It was a delightful dining experience."

Yelp
We had the friendliest service at the Times Square Diner. Our server was incredibly attentive and helpful, checking on us often, refilling our drinks and asking if we wanted anything else. We felt absolutely cared for. Their sweet potato fries are addicting. My partner had their indulgent Banana Blast French toast and loved every bite of it. I must mention that the portions are particularly large. This spot is a gem and commendable for its impeccable service.

Yelp
Stopped in for breakfast on our most recent trip into NYC. This is a hidden gem. Good food, friendly service and very clean. Prices were extremely reasonable for Manhattan. We'll definitely be back when we're in the City!!
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent food and in and out in no time. The tables could be packed and your meal comes out fast, your never without water coffee or a server checking on you. Eggs Benedict best.

Yelp
This is my all-time favorite diner. The place is always packed but they do an amazing job of just getting orders and food out very quickly. The food is so good and in large quantities. I always order a grilled cheese and Cajun fries. I was here this week and I was able to order and get my food within 10 mins of sitting down (which I always appreciate when hungry) Although I don't live in Manhattan anymore, I make this a stop whenever I'm in town.

Yelp
Breakfast at this place is a fulfilling experience! Ordered eggs Benedict with spicy chorizo and scrambled eggs turkey bacon and hash. All was cooked and seasoned well. Servers were very attentive. The decore is nicer than the photos on line. I guess it's been remodeled. Definitely looks nicer. This diner was in walking distance from our hotel. Will definitely have breakfast again!!

Yelp
I was looking for a greasy spoon. Technically Times Square Diner is that but really it is, as others have mentioned, a tourist trap joint; it exists because of the demand to service tourists and not much more. Everything here is standard issue slop. Don't expect anything crazy out of your eggs, bacon, and toast. You probably don't want to visit after breakfast as you happen to be in one of the best places on Earth for food so why would you do that to yourself? And you definitely do not want to come here for the vibe because there is nothing of the sort present. This is a place to go if every other place is busy and you really need a quick breakfast bite to eat with some coffee. Functional, fine, and completely forgettable.
google avatar

Pat A.

Yelp
Emily quickly seated us for breakfast. Humberto provided excellent service. We had buttermilk pancakes with strawberries and a two egg breakfast with home potatoes. That pancakes are huge and fluffy. Everything tasted great! We plan to return before leaving Manhattan.
google avatar

Yelp
Great service Quick and great food . 6 minute walk from Times Square. Seated right away!!!
google avatar

Yelp
This is off the beating path a bit from broadway and time square. However, very friendly service and the food was very wholesome, delicious, with big portions.

Yelp
Can't say enough about this place!! Great food, service and atmosphere. Prices were great, as well. Found it by accident, then went back two days later for a second visit. Will be back when I return to this awesome city....

Yelp
First time in New York, first restaurant I came to. Absolutely amazing I love the food and drink, the staff is so nice and welcoming. Love the atmosphere with the music and tv's. I want to come back!

Yelp
whoa...this place is something out of Taxi Driver in what looks like any NYC hole in the wall...yeah, yeah, yeah diner. Step inside and you get the vibe...we're doin' Diner vibe with a step up...it's 12 years old and doin' it right. All the diner classics but some with a twist and some 'wringers'- tuna tartar, avocado toast, et al. All of which in a magical diner setting hidden behind a British racing green facade-almost hiding it's magical diner setting. Classic BLT on white bread...served fresh with lots of bacon. Their french onion soup is made fresh daily. Top shelf friendly welcoming service at very reasonable prices...and you're in New York City's Hell's Kitchen!
google avatar

Yelp
Not really a diner. More like a sandwich shop. Order at the counter and pick up your food and sit at a table. Overcooked omelet. Expensive for what you get.
google avatar

Yelp
We were seated right away even though it was packed for brunch. Huge portions and the food was good. The staff were excellent.

Yelp
One of us wanted lunch and the other breakfast and we couldn't find a place near 30 Rock at 11 to satisfy us both. But we found this place and it was great! The pulled pork sandwich was GIANT! And my daughter loved it. The loaded time square breakfast was so good and more than I could finish. We didn't have to wait. Our server was AWESOME and attentive. It was not loud and it was very clean. Would definitely go back next time we are in town.
google avatar

Yelp
Food was quick, ordered it online and pickup was ready in less than 20 minutes. Delicious, a little greasy, proportions were good.

Yelp
Wanted to try a good diner while in NY, so with yelps help, I found this place. With so many reviews and over 4 stars, it was a must try. It was a short 8 minute walk from my hotel so that was perfect. Place is nice and clean inside with plenty of booth, bar, and table seating. My toddler and I were immediately seated. They don't have booster chairs but they do have high chairs. There is no kids menu but they have tons of options that can be shared with little ones. I ordered the Beef Gyro Platter to share with my little one. The meals included a soup or salad and since my platter includes a salad already, I opted for the Chicken Noodle Soup. The soup arrived immediately and my toddler went straight for it. It was delicious. He ate more than half the bowl, including the veggies that came with it. I barely got to have a taste and it was a generous portion for a side soup. The platter arrived pretty quick and it was a lot of food. The dressing for the Greek salad was amazing!! So good that I even ate the green peppers in the salad, which I normally don't because I'm not a fan of peppers. Meat was cooked medium well. Needed a little more seasoning but was still tender and good with the yogurt sauce it comes with. The fries are home style fries and they were delicious and crispy. All of the wait staff were attentive and quick. Place was clean and not too loud. There is a bar area for a quick bite and they had alcohol. Any messes were cleaned very quickly and it seemed like food was coming out quickly for all the other tables away. I loved the service and food. Definitely would come back to try something else on the menu.

Yelp
My friend and I came in for a drink before we went out to dinner and decided to try their Bellini. It was delicious and refreshing. Service was really quick and friendly. The ambiance was really nice, there was plenty of seating available and it seemed like a lot of people were getting food. If we didn't have dinner plans already we would have too, it looked really good! I'll definitely have to come back to try their meals!

Yelp
We came on a Sunday morning, about a 20 min wait because we didn't want to sit at the bar. We got the smoked salmon eggs Benedict and strawberry pancakes, both were 10/10 and very generous portions. Food was ready less than 5 min after ordering. Have to give 4 stars because their coffee is very average and overpriced.
google avatar

Jessica S.

Yelp
I had high hopes about this place, but was a bit disappointed. Our server was great and the inside was cute, but the food was just meh. My daughter ordered a toasted croissant and said it was ok. I ordered the chicken with sweet potato fries. The sweet potato fries were the best thing there! The chicken was under seasoned and was more like schnitzel which was not what I was going for.
google avatar

Brenda J.

Yelp
Wanted an affordable place for a quick breakfast in Times Square so we popped into the diner, which upon first glance looks like a convenience store with take out, but there is an eating area in the rear. I had an omelet and toast. The breakfast options were standard and the food decently cooked. Over priced drinks like everywhere else in NYC. The meal met the purpose, quick, affordable and decent. If crunched for time, I'd go shaping but if not, I'd want something more substantial.
google avatar

Laura H.

Yelp
A tourist trap that is packed, way overpriced and waitresses that have very clearly had a long day and just want to go home. The food was average and greasy. The place was very noisy and we were seated with a group of strangers.

Randy H.

Yelp
My wife likes traditional breakfast, bacon/eggs/toast and I prefer eggs Benedict. The food was great and the service was fantastic. This is a very cozy diner. This was a gem find around the corner from our hotel.

Yelp
Discovered yet another gem of a diner in NY, and it's safe to say it's quickly become one of my favorites. The Apple Caramel Crumb Tart and toast were beyond words, simply legit and delicious. It's one of those places that keeps pulling you back in, making you fall in love with it a little more each visit. But the real surprise was the Egg Cream, served up in a delightful vanilla flavor. Contrary to what I initially thought it might taste like (somewhere close to eggnog?), it was wonderfully creamy with a light, velvety, and slightly fizzy texture. The vanilla was hearty and present, making the drink resemble a toned-down milkshake. Absolutely loved it and it's apparently a must-try NY diner classic. The service was attentive, adding to the overall great experience. Although a bit more explanation about the Egg Cream would have been appreciated (it seemed so normal here that our server was a bit stuck on how to describe it), it was a minor hiccup in an otherwise fantastic dining experience. Definitely a spot worth checking out for anyone looking to enjoy some true diner delights in New York.

Yelp
Great diner, near time square!!! Our hotel actually recommended this restaurant to us! The service was great. Restaurant was clean & not too crowded at 9am. If you're looking for a more savory option, I would choose the California Omelette. Very filing & it has avocados! The strawberry French toast was also delicious, but on the sweeter side.
google avatar

Janice K.

Yelp
Wow, I'm not sure why this has such great reviews. Maybe we missed the good chef. I love breakfast so I was excited to find this highly rated restaurant near our hotel that offers breakfast all day. We arrived Friday night around 7:30pm. There were at least 25% of the tables free. The service was attentive and fast. The food was not good. My omelette was overcooked and dry. My husband's beef was overcooked. His fries and my homefries were room temperature at best. His Greek salad was good. Maybe try this place for breakfast or brunch. I should have known better when there was no wait at prime dinner time on a Friday ni

Yelp
The ambiance of this diner is literally a family owned friendly diner. Everyone super sweet with exceptional customer service. The food was tasty I had the parfait it cones in a big bowel with fresh fruit and granola with honey I also got an English muffin. My fiancé and her mom got an omelette and added spinach with cheese with fried potatoes and toast. They come to NY once a year and always order this they loved it per usual.

Yelp
Busy dinner in Times Square area. Clean. We sat at the bar & had great service. Food was very good. Didn't not have to wait long for our breakfast to be prepared. Tasty coffee.

Yelp
Came here by a referral from a local. Breakfast was excellent. I had the Spicy Sausage Benedict and my wife had the Spicy Sausage Italian Omelette. We both loved our food and highly recommend coming here. Service was perfect as well. I would definitely come back again.

Renee H.

Yelp
I was really hungry and Yelp reviews were good so dined there for the first time. I ordered fried chicken sandwich with lettuce, tomatoes and mayo only. Also, fries and pickles on the side. The chicken had an off-putting taste and the breading was falling off. I sent it back and just ate the fries and pickles. The staff was accommodating which was the best part of my experience.

Yelp
Visitimg NYC, staying in Times Square. Looking for a place the family would enjoy. Came here for breakfast. We (party of 5) were seated immediately. All of the staff we encountered were friendly and efficient. Ordered pancakes, steak and eggs, waffles, bacon, orange juice, coffee. Everything was excellent with the exception of the steak which was more raw that medium rare but not too rate that I didn't eat it. Our server was impressive. Took our order, with some customizations, without writing anything down and promptly brought out our order with nothing being incorrect. They also did a great job keeping our drinks filled. Going to go again before we head upstate. Prices are high which are to be expected here in Times Square. Highly recommend!

Yelp
A solid spot in midtown! The decor inside is contemporary / has some 70's vibes which is fun and different for the area! We were seated right away and staff came over immediately to get our drink orders. I opted for the meat based omelette and my partner the breakfast platter - both came out SO fast! My omelette had TONS of meat in it - I was very pleasantly surprised! My partner's meal was also tasty and we left feeling full! I enjoyed having a breakfast place that we could sit down in (vs. a take out bagel) and enjoy some conversation - I would recommend this place if you are in the area looking for a breakfast spot!

Yelp
Totally fine comfortable place with everything, and great service. Had pb brownie a la mode. Very sweet. But fine.

Yelp
This looked like a good stop for breakfast before our busy day. No seats available except for the bar, so we sat there. The inside is fairly small, with tables and booths. Service was a bit spotty, but we managed. The menu is vast. My decaf coffee had probably been brewing all night as it's the strongest I have ever drank. I opted for a western omelet with cheese and rye toast. It literally arrived in less than 5 minutes. My guess is they have everything all cooked and just add anything the customer wants. The omelet was brown on the outside, which isn't good for eggs. The toppings inside were plentiful and they weren't shy with the cheese. The home fries were lousy. They had been sitting forever and were overcooked and had no flavor. Took us forever to get our check. Prices really aren't bad considering where you are. Too many other places to try so I wouldn't return here.

Tabbatha S.

Yelp
Food was delicious! We had burgers, fries and cole slaw! Service was top notch. We came in around 1:00 p.m. and sat right down. I would highly recommend them for lunch!
