We stayed here in December 2024. First and foremost this is an honest review without emphasizing short comings or negativity. I’m more about making human connection growing up in a developing country myself. Having said so here is my honest review:|We walked by Tingum during our stay at Coral Sand. |I immediately loved the lush green. We spoke to Crystal and requested if she can pick us up from Coral Sand on Friday the 20th December. That was the day we were to check in at Tingum. She said she would come for us at 10 am, but she didn’t come so we had our Coral Sand front desk call her and she stated she was busy. Which was fine but we would have appreciated if she would have let us know by calling Coral Sand. Eventually Coral sand gave us a ride to Tingam since it would have been a long walk with our luggage from one place to the other. Also, we had to reach Eleuthera for a day trip by 11 am on that day so we were on a tight time crunch.|Once we arrived though Crystal was welcoming, gave us complementary water, took us to our room and also gave us a ride to the dock since we were really running late. She was kind enough to pick us up as well at the end of that day from the dock.|The ROOM: I’m not going to sugar coat this but the rooms need a lot of TLC. The furniture was dated, the shower faucet was broken and water pressure was very low. We had to flush the toilet twice and hold down the flush knob.|The room had a weird smell I thought lighting up a candle would get rid of that. There was one fully melted (not usable) next to the Jacuzzi bath tub (that we didn’t use). I lighted another which was more than half used tropical flavor candle that was also there, but the candle made the smell worse.|We met a couple whom we saw hanging out in the breakfast area for 3 days in a row and working in their mac books. My husband said that maybe their room stinks too!| I wish we were given a room on the second floor so that we can at least open the door to the patio but I didn’t have the heart to ask since as I said people were so nice. They even put a heart shape with fresh Bougainvillea flower on bed the day of our check in. The bed sheet didn’t look clean and no one came to clean our room either (changing bed sheet, replenish toiletries etc.) in the duration of our two days stay. The hammock right in front of our room I decided to lay on our checkout day only to find out that a corner of it was broken.|THE FOOD: We had dinner here on the day we checked in. I ordered the cheeseburger since I heard so many stories already. I felt that the portion size could have been better since it was from the dinner menu. I did like the traditional Goombay Smash drink.| On our checkout day we also met Juanita the daughter of the owner. I’m glad to be able to have a conversation and exchange gift with her!|I also found out that we could have used a pool that was down the street. I was wondering about it since I did recall seeing a picture of a pool before booking this place but couldn’t find it in the premises.|Pros: Excellent Property, lush greenery. Friendliness. Do rent a golf cart during your stay.|Cons: Dated rooms, needs a lot of renovations and upgrades and cleaning. Especially with ventilation, room service, water pressure and check by supervisors before guest’s check in.

This was a trip in early December 2024. The accommodations were not very clean, plus we had no running water. We continually asked to have them fix it or move to another room. This was not an option. I used beach towels to sit on the couch/sofa, and patio cushions. The worst was no water, hot or cold and no pressure. There was no help from the owner or staff. They would turn water on to our room “briefly” and we could take a “trickle” shower. The odor coming from the drains was disgusting. We put Vicks under our noses at night. I had to chase someone down for clean towels, and not once were they picked up or did anyone offer to clean our room or change sheets. I actually offered to flush the toilet with a bucket, and they sent an employee-which I apologize to him that he had to flush my waste. Quite embarrassing. We are an older couple, boaters, and have a lot of experience at “camping’…this was worse than camping/sleeping on our 23’ Pursuit. It is/was distressing for the lack of resolve from owner. We had been to Harbor Island once before (Valentine’s) and thought we would try something less commercial and support a local person. We read the reviews, but wow nothing as we expected. We have since learned that if you want to be guaranteed power and water, that it’s necessary to stay at one of the resorts, Valentine’s, Ramona Bay, Coral Sands that have their own generators. This is an important question to ask if you are planning a trip to this beautiful island. To this date - still surprised they haven’t reached out….just another day just another guest…

We had a very good time! It is not a luxury hotel but it offers everything you need and it was clean. We also enjoyed the restaurant, although the choices are a bit limited and we could rent a golf cart for $75 a day.

Our last night tonight staying at this perfect hotel for our stay in Harbour Island. The hotel is situated in the centre of the island within close proximity to everything. Tingum Village Hotel was everything we needed, we were in the suite and it had everything and was more than comfortable. A light continental breakfast was included but you could order more off the menu if wanted - and the food was lovely. We rented a golf cart - and Juanita was more than helpful and accommodating and has even let us use it to drive with our luggage in the morning to get to the water taxi. We cannot express our thanks enough to Juanita - a real gem of a person, kind and authentic and an amazing host. Juanita has been outstanding and so welcoming - thank you for making our holiday even better than we imagined. We will definitely be back! Cate and Rob Gray x

Although it’s not a fancy or posh hotel for Harbor Island, we really loved it. For us it was fabulous! It’s excellent value for money compared to how expensive everything else is in Harbor Island. We also loved the local Bahamian owners and staff, we loved the way the chickens run loose around the place, and the informality of this hotel. We were upgraded upon arrival to one of their better rooms which was very nicely decorated in floaty white, clean and the ensuite bathroom always had plenty of hot water, we also had a a little fridge and microwave. I do not know if the other rooms are as attractively decorated because I did not see them. The rooms are bungalows and nestled amongst coconut trees and gorgeous lush vegetation. We found the hotel restaurant to be great value for money. I had a wonderful tasty toasted grouper sandwich. The menu is Bahamian typical foods such as conch fritters etc. we rented our golf buggies from the hotel and also booked a fantastic half day guided tour of North Eleuthera with Ferguson who is a taxi driver/guide and knows Juanita, the Owner of the hotel. This was truly memorable and worth every penny. If you want an authentic island stay with great local friendly hosts at a reasonable price with a central location and don’t mind some of the quirks of the place, then this is the place to stay!

I attended a wedding this weekend and this hotel was recommended. The owner and her staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. The food was amazing !!! It was authentic Bahamian dishes. I loved how close the hotel was to the beach and the local shops. Juanita and her family made sure our experience in Harbour Island was top notch. I will definitely come back.

A quaint older resort that my wife and I love. Mostly cabins. Great food. No pool, but who needs a pool at Harbour Island? Each room comes with a golf cart and gas and the very, very nearby beaches are incredible!!!
