Paradise Road Tintagel Colombo

Went for a wedding reception and due to the size it's in the front yard under a marquee which was supposed to be air conditioned but it was just a bunch of fans blowing hot humid air around. Left the wedding after an hour due to the heat and uncomfortableness. Had very similar issues at their other venue called the galleries. My kids suffered dehydration from this place. Flew from Australia for this wedding and got to see an hour of it. Complete waste of a $30k family trip.

We had tea coffee at the Tintagel Colombo. It’s a nice place to get a real colonial feel. Certainly top rated to stay over for a day or two for those who want to experience a Ceylonese Aristocratic feel! Check out its history.

Located in a beautiful surrounding, with lush greenery, huge vases of flowers, fountain and more. Tastefully done interior. If the spaces were a bit wider, that would be awesome. Loved the attire of the staff and of course their courteous service.

Paradise Road Tintagel Colombo left us with the best impressions! First of all, I must mention the amazing breakfasts – the dishes were not only delicious but also exquisite, with a diverse selection for every taste. The service was top-notch – the staff was always attentive, friendly, and ready to assist with any request. The atmosphere of the hotel is stunning with its luxury and history, as even Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla have stayed here. This place is truly perfect for those who appreciate comfort, sophistication, and exceptional attention to detail.

Old colonial style location with a quite a bit of history. Absolutely love the place. The Staff is great and the cuisine is good.

My husband and I had the most wonderful stay here. There are only a few rooms so it feels very personal and special. The staff were lovely and friendly and the cocktails were amazing. The decor is extremely classy with large rooms, an amazing bathroom, lovely seating area outside and a delcious smell throughout. The breakfast was lovely and it was great to be able to sit outside in the sunshine with a delicious fruit platter. They kindly organised a cake and a room upgrade as it was our honeymoon which was really appreciated. Would really recommends staying here- Thank you to the smiley staff.

Stunning colonial mansion turned into a boutique hotel. Large rooms to enjoy. Service was hit and miss, some staff overly attentive that actually made me feel uncomfortable with the overt attention, while other staff were ambivalent at best. The rooms are large, however the decor is starting to get quite tired and outdated. Stains on the couch, squeaky beds and air conditioning units that can not cope with the heat and size of the room. The location is not at all central requiring transportation to venture outside the walls.

My recent stay at The Tintagel Hotel was nothing short of disappointing. Once a promising establishment with a rich history, it now languishes in the shadows of its former glory. The decay and neglect are painfully evident throughout the property, signaling an urgent need for renovation. Despite the obvious signs of deterioration, the management seems content to coast on past achievements, including hosting notable guests like Charles and Camilla. However, the current state of the hotel is far from regal. The once-grand building is now marred by damp stains, peeling paint, and outdated decor that reeks of neglect. Even the basic amenities, such as mosquito netting over the bed, appear unchanged since the royal visit, filthy and neglected. As for the staff, their initial friendliness quickly gives way to a predatory approach during check-out. Like vultures, they hover around, subtly hinting at the expectation of tips for lackluster service. Their behavior is both nauseating and infuriating, leaving a bitter taste in the mouth long after departure. In conclusion, The Tintagel Hotel falls short of expectations and fails to deliver a satisfactory experience. Save yourself the disappointment and explore other, more elegant options in Colombo.
