6 Must-Try Food Experiences Across Canada - AFAR

"A Toronto restaurant (two locations) offering immersive kamayan feasts—long tables laid with banana leaves piled with garlic rice, crispy lechón, shrimp, grilled squid, pork belly, okra, eggplant, mango salad and more—meant to be eaten by hand; the communal, sensory dining style is loud, joyful and intentionally messy." - Renée Morrison

If you’re looking for amazing food, this isn’t the place - but if you’re after a fun, authentic Filipino experience, it’s worth a visit with friends! They give you gloves (so your hands stay clean) and unlimited rice, which is a nice touch. Both fish dishes were a letdown, but the grilled pork belly, mussels, and garlic rice were solid!

This is my second visit to Tinuno; the first was at the downtown location some time ago when the Kamayan menu was just $15. I remember it being an interesting experience. This weekend, I took my parents there since they had never tried Filipino cuisine before. I initially planned to take them to the downtown location but discovered it was closed for renovations, so we decided to go to the Bathurst location instead. First, I want to mention that the staff were all very friendly. However, we were quite disappointed with the food. The fish was very burnt and lacked flavor (the Tilapia was completely black in the picture). The milkfish tasted a little better but was still burnt. The shrimps were not fresh and hadn’t been cleaned properly. Half of the vegetables were also flavorless and burnt, and the pork was quite dry. I also noticed that the portions were smaller than what I had previously experienced, but the price has now increased to $25 per person. The garlic rice was still quite tasty, which was the only item we enjoyed. While the experience was unique (you eat with your hands the entire time, which could raise health concerns when dining with friends or non-family members since all portions are laid out together on banana leaves), even with family, we usually use separate utensils at home when serving food from different dishes—especially after Covid, to avoid passing unnecessary germs to our elderly parents. I also wonder if they are reusing the banana leaves, and if so, how they can wash them properly. Overall, it seems like it's only worth trying once for the experience. We won't be returning or recommending this place.

Absolutely delicious from start to finish! The grilled squid and the entire Kamayan platter were bursting with flavor, while my sister savored every bite of the chicken inasal. And the “Halo Halo”? Simply the BEST! The staff made us feel so welcome, with attentive service and friendly smiles from the moment we walked in. Special thanks to our server, Char, for the amazing recommendations that made our meal even more enjoyable. Highly recommended! 🍽✨ Check out the full experience on my YouTube channel 👉 SimplyShineLV 🎥

Google
First time trying Filipino food in my life. Very impressive and interesting to eat with your hands (for which the restaurant provides you some gloves). Very authentic and fresh food. Price is good. Recommend going with friends, so they will surprise you with the really big portion

Google
Overall, very disappointing experience. The garlic rice was ok, however the seafood and vegetables were burnt and had a bitter taste. The meat was overcooked and dry :( . They have good drinks and desserts tho. Also entrance shared with a shipping company, kinda weird 🧐.

Google
The food is good, but the fish and squid were burnt. The server said it was because the stove is too old and can't really adjust the temperature. However, one major problem is that when you're paying with cash, the bill automatically include 18% tips. They did not tell us that tips were already included within the bill, so we ended up paid another ~15% as tips.

The food was absolutely delicious! love the grilled squid and everything on Kamayan platter! My sister enjoyed the chicken inasal! and most of all “Halo Halo” is the BEST! staff was incredibly attentive and friendly, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Our server, Char, was knowledgeable and provided excellent recommendations.

I feel like the portion got much smaller than before. Cannot have a whole squid for 2 people Kamayan. Besides that everything tastes delicious at both locations they are pretty consistent with their quality. Service was very welcoming and friendly.

Yelp
My friend had this before and invited me to try out their kamayan. We got a portion of two and I was very excited to try this out. I appreciated that they offered gloves as well. I did not know this but we are able to substitute some of the items (maybe with a charge) as my friend did not want the milkfish since that fish is very bony. They laid out the food in a timely manner and it looked and smelled great. I was a big fan of the garlic fried rice, super aromatic. A few of my favorites was the grilled squid, okra and mussels. It was almost guaranteed that you will be full after finishing the kamayan. My friend persuaded me to have the halo halo too and it was good. I was not too fond of the kidney beans in it so I picked it out. If I got it again, I would ask to remove the beans.

Yelp
Came here on a Friday night, group of 4, with reservations through open table. Food- kamayan spread for 2+ people ($25pp) includes mussels, shrimp, okra, eggplant, squid, tiliapia, Bangus (milkfish), pork belly, bbq pork skewer & unlimited garlic fried rice!! A side salad of mango, & orange. Everything was grilled, seasoned and marinated just right. A great representation of Filipino bbq spread and variety of proteins. Plenty of portion to fill you up. (Bonus unlimited garlic fried rice means you'll always have some rice with your meat... don't feel shy!!) - we also ordered side of intestines, chicken bbq skewers and lumpia (pork). Out of all the proteins I loved the chicken bbq skewer just because I've always loved the Filipino marinade. Juicy, sweet, tender chicken. Drinks- ordered the Sago't Gulaman. Mix of tapioca, sago and sweet brown sugar like drink. Yummy! Dessert- ordered the halo halo. Shaved ice with toppings like leche flan, ube ice cream, coconut strands, jelly, sweet beans, ube halaya etc. so yummy! One of my favourites. Also ordered the Silvanas - Ube and vanilla. Amazing. A cashew treat layered with cream on the inside. Parking- sometimes the lot is busy; but there is a lot just right beside. Overall experience - highly recommend for those who want to experience kamayan! Love the food. Great flavour.

Yelp
This has to be one the best filipino restaurants I've been to. The restaurant looks smaller on the outside and has a shared parking lot with other businesses so parking is a little hard, but it's much easier to get to than it's other location downtown. Inside they have one area where you can order food, and another area to dine. Washrooms are downstairs. The dining area was very clean. They had nice music playing, and great decorations. Service was great. Staff was friendly and attentive. I enjoyed being their because all the staff stayed smiling and were happy. The food came out pretty quick and it was undoubtedly full of great flavor. I was surprised how much everything cost. It was definitely worth the price. I wish they had something similar to this near where I live but if I'm ever back in the area, I will be sure to return here.

Yelp
My friend and colleague, who is Filipino, saw my photos of my first kamayan feast at an eatery in Scarborough. He was happy to hear that I liked my first feast experience eating with my hands, thanks to a pair of gloves. He craved having kamayan and asked if I wanted to join him for dinner. Yes! He recommended Tinuno. I did a quick search and asked which one he wanted. He had been to this one on Bathurst Street, in the heart of Little Manila. I was game, as it was a bit closer to me than heading downtown. My friend made a reservation for us. It was cool having him make it. I typically do it like clockwork, so it was a treat to have him take this task over. We had a 6:00 pm reservation on a Monday night. I got there early. This eatery is located in a small plaza with limited parking. I nabbed the second-last available parking spot and backed into in. A pickup truck parked next to me. I was wondering if I could get out of my car because this truck was massive. I thankfully could! My friend rolled up in a Uber. We then walked in together while chatting up a storm. There is a counter for takeout orders. It was cool seeing what you can get foodwise, which continues to bring joy to me. We were in another lineup. We got a pleasant woman who found our reservation. We were seated immediately at a cozy table. My friend is a huge fan of sisig. We got the sizzling sisig, knowing that we'd likely have leftovers. We did! For the kamayan, if you are two people or more, you have the option of getting the milkfish or the tilapia. My friend asked me what I thought of the fish. I liked the milkfish a lot better than the tilapia when I had my first feast. My friend and I are similar in food tastes. He agreed with me. Milkfish, it was! My friend got calamansi juice. I went with pineapple juice. He loved his drink. I loved mine, except that it was small. I ended up getting a Diet Coke. Cold drinks. Perfect! It took no time for our sisig and kamayan to arrive. There were gloves on the table, so we helped ourselves. We got a spoon for the sisig. The sisig was yummy. It was sizzling and flavourful. We couldn't eat it all, so we ended up getting takeout boxes for it and our dessert. The kamayan was delicious. This one had more seafood than my first experience. The milkfish and shrimp were to-die-for yummy. The grilled squid was overdone, though. It took a lot of effort to pull the rings apart with my gloved hands and several chews to swallow it. The rice was yummy. I wish that it were garlic rice, though. It would have made this feast even more amazing than it already was. I am normally not a fan of okra, mainly because I've had it in curries and stews. It gets slimy and gross. However, I'm perfectly fine eating grilled okra because it's crunchy and isn't slimy. My friend isn't a fan of okra in any form, so I ate them all up. On the other hand, I don't like eggplant unless it's pan-fried to death. I had one. It was still gross and spongy to me, so he ate all of them. There were two orange slices. I'm a fruit fanatic. I had both of them. I feel like my first kamayan spoiled me. We got a bunch of sauces. This kamayan needed sauces to launch it into excellent status. It was yummy, but there was more room for improvement. We ended up ordering more items even though we were stuffed: - Crispy chicken skin - Cassava cake - Suman with white sugar We split the cassava cake. It was slightly sweet. I loved it. We also split the suman. My friend likes to roll it in white sugar. I've only had it with brown sugar. The white sugar tastes better. It elevates the cassava. It was a great suggestion on his part. I love chicharron. The chicken version of it was perfect here. The chicken skin was crispy and perfectly salted. We took home the crispy chicken skin, suman, and sigig. We were happy with our leftovers the next day! We took turns using the washroom. It's downstairs. Accessibility isn't there for those who require mobility assistance. The washroom that I used was clean. No complaints. When I returned to our table, my friend had settled the bill. You can't split the bill here. I asked my friend to let me know how much I owed him. This review reminded me that I never got an answer from him, so I'll need to bug him again. He doesn't drive, so I dropped him off at Yorkdale subway station. It's ten minutes away by car, so the location is decent. We had a wonderful time. I'm hoping that the rubbery squid was a one-time anomaly. I'd return for more good eats. (173)

Yelp
Had no idea they opened a location here. It's just as good as I remember, the last time I had it was downtown at least five years ago. The kamayan is $25 per person, and we had 9 people. It is more than enough food and great value for the price, and you can get unlimited rice if you need. My favorite items were the pork skewer, pork belly and garlic rice. I liked one of the fishes more than the other, but I'm not sure which of the two it was. The other one was pretty bony and took some work to eat. I was told that I reeked of garlic after the meal, but it was worth it.

Yelp
Service was excellent. They were so friendly, and went above and beyond. My toddler was having a hard time, crying and whining. One of the servers offered him a hot dog on the house. It was so nice and appreciated. It's hard enough as a mom with an emotional toddler, so the server's thoughtfulness and attentiveness went a LONG way. Thank you thank you! As for the food, we went as a big table and ordered the Kamayan for $25 per person. The ambiance was great and we all used gloves to dig into the feast. My favourite were the mussels and skewers and shrimp. Others really enjoyed the milkfish (it was very seasoned with lemon-salt flavour). The garlic rice was yummy and unlimited. The other foods were ok - the grilled meat and squid didn't stand out as having much flavour. The eggplant skin had a very charred flavour. There is parking in front of the restaurant but it gets busy. We went at 5pm so there were a few spots available but by the time we left it was packed. There's street parking around though (try Sultan). They allowed us to bring in our own cake for a birthday celebration, and they brought a cake cutting knife and helped light the candles. After cake we were still down for more dessert so we tried the silvanas. It tasted like a denser creamier version of an ice cream sandwich. There was one that was salty - maybe salted caramel? We wanted to try the banana turon but they didn't have it available.

Yelp
I've been coming here for almost every special occasion, and it never disappoints! From the kamayan feast to the banana leaves and the vinegar on the table, everything about Tinuno reminds me of home (the Philippines). The portions are generous, the staff is super attentive, and the food always hits the spot. We especially love the unlimited garlic rice, it makes the kamayan price per person feel so worth it. The inside is small, but you won't even notice because you'll be too busy looking at and enjoying the food. Definitely a must-visit for authentic Filipino flavors!

Yelp
The distance and distinct lack of parking space in front of Tinuno was all forgotten when I sat down for one of their Kamayan (hand) feasts. Laid out on banana leaves, there was a mix of meats and seafoods made in a Filipino cuisine way that evoked some memories of my last trip to Manila. Pork skewers, fried shrimp, grilled octopus and other fried meats and cooked seafoods made it a meal to remember. The feast was bookended by an appetizer order of fried lumpia, and closed out with the sweet custard taste of leche flan. All washed down with pineapple juice! Everything was served in a timely matter that I didn't go hungry at all during meal. The place was spacious to hold many diners, and the vibe was mainly of patrons enjoying the food through a subtle volume of deep-fried crunch and savoury-sounding moans. I'd definitely go back!

Yelp
I've been here a few times already thanks to a friend's recommendation and have tried the downtown location. Honestly, this location is way better imo. The taste, flavor and char bbq hits the spot compared to the downtown location which was salty and burnt most of the time. Kamayan feast is the go to especially if you have a large group, the unlimited garlic fried rice is to die for! The bbq skewers and seafood is delicious as well as the halo halo to finish. Take out is great as well especially their breakfasts, we always try to ubereats when ever we can. The restaurant is bigger than the downtown location however, parking is limited so it's best to go early before the dinner rush and there is side street parking as well. This place is friendly with larger groups (my was over 10+) and the staff there are super friendly and tentative.

Yelp
Had their kamayan which included our choice of fish (we chose the milkfish), squid, shrimp, mussel, pork belly, pork skewer, okra, eggplant, mango salad, and garlic rice. The kamayan was beautiful and so delicious! We felt stuffed by the end and I loved how they added some fruits too which was refreshing.

Virgil V.

Yelp
Food is standard. Nothing jumps from the ordinary. Service is sub standard. I know, Filipino but familiarity breeds contempt to a point where staff were sitting on empty seats and where in their phones. Ambiance is nothing to be desired for other than a large tv which place on a loop of islands somewhere in Asia at least to make you feel you're somewhere else. I had the "Kamayan mini" for a single person and I wouldn't suggest it. There were no checking up on how the food is nor if you need anything. My bill was $35 For the food ,service and poor dripping faucet for washing hands (I had to ask for paper towels) I think, you should spend your money elsewhere.

Yelp
Came here on a weekday night to celebrate my mom's birthday. Reserved a table a few days in advance, thinking this place was quite well known so snatching a table by walking-in was not a good idea... WRONG! When we arrived at 7pm, this place was EMPTY! Not one single patron was eating there, and we thought it was weird. We ordered their signature kamayan feast ($25 per person), and their calamansi drink. The kamayan was served on a big wooden chopping board covered by banana leave, garlic rice topped with pork skewers, mussels, shrimp, squid, okra, eggplant, choice of milkfish or tilapia, pork belly pieces, some mango salad and orange slices. The ingredients were portioned so that each person could only get 1 - 2 pieces of each ingredient to accompany the big portioned garlic rice. We were given disposable gloves to eat with the food, however, we requested utensils and plates as we weren't used to eating our meals with our hands. The grilled items- skewers and pork belly, were really good as they have enough char marks and smoky flavour. The seafood were just regular seafood, nothing special about them. The milkfish though, they didn't de-scale it so we had to enjoy the fish with caution. Overall, we thought the price didn't not reflect on meal. It's pricier for the amount of food we have gotten. Service was lacking... they pretty much left us alone to chit chat, interrupted the music several times so they could show each other videos they took. WILL NOT COME BACK!

Yelp
This is a second location of Tinuno compared to the main location in downtown Toronto. It is located on a small plaza that's about a 5-10 min drive from Yorkdale. Parking is very limited in front of the restaurant, so we had to park across for street parking instead. When we walked inside, it looked like a convenience store and very home style. We opted for the Kamayan feast for $25/person. Price is reasonable given the rising costs these days. However, the taste wasn't to my liking. I was expecting the garlic rice to be more flavourful, and the fish was a bit too charred for me. The only thing I really enjoyed was the skewers. Service could have been better as well. Overall, nice to have a first try but don't see myself returning.

Yelp
This is a cozy little restaurant serving authentic Philippine foods. Server is very friendly, we ordered kamayan for two with milk fish , butter garlic rice on the bottom is very tasty and it is unlimited refill. Also ordered pork sisig, very nice, just portion wise is a bit small. Deserts we got leech flan and a drink, both of them are overly sweet for me. Compared to before, their price is almost doubled, but still a nice place .

Yelp
Not a fan of the Kamayan Style experience. Had it before at the downtown location and didn't really like it there either but tried this location as the group I was with wanted to try it. This is communal eating where food is served on the table on top of banana leaves and you eat with your hands. They provide food gloves that you can use. The garlic rice is laid down first and then the shrimps, 2 types of fish, calao and mussels and put down, then the pork is put down and the grilled okra and eggplant. The shrimp and both dishes are way overcooked and the milk fish was definitely lacking in flavour. The tilapia was grilled and had more flavour but it came whole and you have to take it apart yourself and it had lots of bones. It was overcooked as well. The okra and eggplant were good. The pork was better and was not as overcooked. The garlic rice was definitely the best thing. We also got deep fried chicken skin to go and that was really good and stayed crispy days afterwards. Not sure I would come back as I'm not a fan of eating communal style like this with my hands (very unhygienic) and the fact that the main items were overcooked (this time and the last time I went) but others may enjoy this.

Yelp
Friendly service. I loved the variety in their kamyan feast. Generous portion for 4 people. The garlic rice was delicious. Great to bring kids and expose to the culture of eating with their hands. My girls polished everything!
google avatar

Yelp
super fun and tasty! For about $25/person (we had 4) you'd get a small mango salad, rice, and plenty of assorted meats/fish! Found everything pretty good, warning though the fish is super salty depending if you're into that. Overall, enjoyed it but to be honest wasn't super filling for $25, also found the servers a bit hard to track down. Great experience though!

Yelp
Came to this new Tinuno location with a group of 16. Almost all of us got the kamayan feast, and it was amazing! Tons of food, good variety, delicious. The wait staff were very friendly and asked if we needed any more garlic rice. Most of us ended the meal with halo halo which was a treat I remember fondly from my childhood. It was the perfect way to end the meal. Value was good. Ended up paying less than $40/person all in, which is good considering we got extra appetizers, drinks and desserts. 10/10, will visit again.
google avatar

Jessica S.

Yelp
The Kamayan was good. The garlic rice was yum! We also ordered crispy bituka which tasted good! Two of my American friends liked it. Silvanas was heaven, you must try! Their halu-halo too! Writing this review makes me want to go back. However, the taho wasn't that good. The Crispy Pata was good. Ambiance, just average. Service was good!

Yelp
Tinuno has been around for several years at its downtown location on Howard Street. They were known for making the Kamayan experience more accessible to those living in downtown Toronto. About three months ago they opened up a location closer to the part of the city called Little Manila, near Bathurst and Wilson. This newer location of Tinuno is in a small plaza on the west side of Bathurst, south of Baycrest. The restaurant shares a space with Atin Ito remittance service. There is both a large indoor seating area, as well as an outdoor patio covered by a tent. There is in very limited amount of parking in the plaza. The drawback of visiting this location is that the area is currently undergoing construction along Bathurst Street which makes turning into and out of the plaza quite difficult if you are headed northbound. I stopped by Tinuno Little Manila on the way home from work. The staff were very friendly and helpful in terms of answering any questions I had. They are known for their kamayan feast which comes in a few options, depending on protein choices. The kamayan feast typically includes garlic rice, barbeque pork skewers, some kind of seafood combination such as mussels, squid or shrimp, a few pieces of steamed vegetables, and a few pieces of fruit. I did not need quite so much food and therefore only ordered a couple of a la carte dishes including a vegetable dish called pinakbet and a few pieces of pork barbecue. The barbecue was tender but had a bit too much fat. The pinakbet was full of vegetables. A small serving size was enough for hubby and I to share for dinner. Reservations for their patio experience can be made on Yelp. Somehow the experience of dining at the restaurant location feels that much more authentic in terms of the kamayan experience, not to mention that the food is still hot when it is served. I do look forward to dining at this establishment, perhaps on the patio, before it gets too cold outside.

Yelp
Tried Tinuno first at their downtown location and I feel like I enjoyed their food a bit more at the original spot. However, this newly renovated restaurant was still a good dining experience for Filipino eats. The dining area was clean and the food was presented nicely with gloves for us to eat with. The pricing averages about $50 for two people with soft drinks so it is on the pricier side. The flavours were great but the fish was a bit too charred for my liking. Overall I still enjoyed the food and the staff was so friendly.
google avatar

Lilly H.

Yelp
3.5/5 - I just find out they increased price. It's bummer how eating out is getting harder everyday these days. Taking 0.4 out from first review now as it's no longer budget friendly kamayan. I would love to give them that little missing point but their ambience and overly convenience store like entrance took that 0.1 point to be 4 stars. Tinuno has been my budget friendly go to Kamayan place ever since they opened in dt location. I was so happy to see them open second location relatively near me as uber eat delivery fee from dt was kinda adding up the bill a bit lol Don't think. Just get kamayan and add crispy pork or pork scewers if you think it's not gonna be enough. If you dine in, server will do garlic rice refill. I love staffs here and their food is delicious. My only wish is fish to be slightly less burnt to avoid over charcoaling skin of fish but maybe this is how it's done in Philippine. This place is definitely worth visit if you are looking for an affordable kamayan feast.

Yelp
It's always a pleasure to bring my family here for dinners. They were super accommodating with allergies and were super generous with their portions. Their lechon was amazing and so filling. Great service and wonderful people.

Yelp
Tinuno is the place to be when your starving and in no mood for cooking. Staff are 100% amazing (love you guys). Oh and I always have this satisfying look whenever I leave this place. However, with this being said. We tried something new from their kamayan menu (boodle feast) called "SUPERSILOG". OMG, super amazing. If your not much of a seafood fan, this one is for you. Please check out their menu for more info.

Yelp
Packaged really well for takeout. Comes with a lot of food and flavours are on point. Very yummy and comes with lots of sauces. We took it out of the packaging and put it on our table - really aesthetic and good cold or hot! The sinigang was really tasty too. We recommend the shrimp one.

Yelp
The food is great and unique! The service is excellent! The environment is clean and neat! The price is very fair! What a nice Friday night dinner :)

Yelp
Although this restaurant doesn't have a flashy sign to indicate it's presence, Tinuno does not disappoint! From appetizers to main courses to desserts, this restaurant has it covered. For the price of the food, it is a reasonable size, and all of their cuisines are authentic- which is a plus. Although the staff do speak english, their preferred language of communication is tagalog (and a little bit of bisaya). Aside from the minimal language barrier, there doesn't seem to be any other issues to be encountered :)

Yelp
We were ordered the takeout from here. They're a Filipino restaurant known for their Kamayan or Boodle Fight! We got takeout from their Little Manila restaurant in North York to enjoy at home. I loveee the milkfish, it has a flaky texture to it and it's delicious! I also love the pork skewers, mussels, squid, and shrimp. The garlic rice is sooooo good and it comes with delicious mango salad as well. It's such a fun meal to enjoy in a group.

Janice C.

Yelp
Food taste amazing. We sat on the patio. Great attentive service. It was really fun eating with our hands with the platter of food on the table on the big green leaf base. So many different flavours and all tasty. We will definitely come back.

Yelp
Friendly service and lots of dishes to choose from. Was there for a large family gathering and a little more than half ofcthecregular seating area was dedicated to our group. A welcoming atmosphere with all the Filipino Foody experience expected right here in the GTA.
google avatar

Cerolia K.

Yelp
Their Kamayan feast is truly an experience. All the seafood are grilled to perfection and the garlic rice underneath is so good I could just eat it on its own. The portion is really big fitting for 2-3 people.

Yelp
So disappointed. Wanted to share my Filipino heritage with my daughter. They had me scan the Menu and they're capitalizing on the Uber Eats prices for Indoor dining. What a RIP-OFF. NEVER AGAIN.

Bobby H.

Yelp
Definitely not worth the price point of $25/pp. The food is a tad bland and the service is non-existent.

Ainoa M.

Yelp
Made a reservation, they cancelled last minute without warning or notice, drove in traffic for an hour, paid parking and with my family of 4 then they told me they didn't have space and they turned us down. Take some responsibility and figure it out, such a waste of time.

K K.

Yelp
Came to Tinuno based on several social media post. Food was good and insta worthy. When it came time to pay the bill the lady said there's a mandatory tip of 15% and added the tip on the machine. She just handed me the tap machine and said there's a mandatory tip and shoved the machine towards me. Obviously this is an awkward situation. We always tip when we go out for dinner however to be told there is a mandatory tip after you've finished your meal is a an unwanted surprise. Also, what if I wanted to tip more???

Yelp
Ordered Kamayan for 4 people in Uber eats on Sunday before thanksgiving day hoping to have it for thanksgiving dinner. It allowed me to order and get it delivered by noon Next day. Waited but my order got cancelled last minute. I understand it's a holiday but they should have put "not available" on website so people don't expect and can plan something else. Thanks

Yelp
We went to Tinuno on June 19, 2022. The restaurant has a very nice warm and friendly ambiance. It made us feel nice and relaxed. We have the Kamayan feast for two. We got ours on a wooden platter rather than the banana leaves so a bit of a let down - small issue. The food itself was very good. #1 in preference - Tilapia was nicely charred but great flavour. #2 were the pork skewers. #3 was the pork belly - these were pretty thin slices and hard to figure out what it was. #4 with the squid - very good although our expectations were low - so we were pleasantly surprised. #5 Mussels - Apparently very good. #6 - garlic rice - a very nice base. We wound up waiting a long time after finishing eating so decided to pass on dessert. The service quality was one of the only somewhat negative issues - they are just far too busy for number of staff. Owners are going to pay for this over time.
