Our experience at Tío Darío was excellent. We were seated in the terrace, under a nice shade, surrounded by beautiful plants and flowers. It wasn't busy at lunch time, which made it even more enjoyable.
The food was yummy and among the best I had in Peru. I ordered an Arequipan speciality, the ROCOTO RELLENO TRADICIONAL. The blend of hot pepper and beef together was incredible. In terms of spiciness, I started to sweat a bit and I felt the heat in my mouth, but the effects were manageable. The delicious pastel de papa, served as a side dish, is a great pairing, as the creamy texture of potato and cheese helps with the heat. I also had a ceviche and two drinks which were incredible.
I believe the price to be great for the experience that I had.
I will definitely go again, next time I visit Arequipa.
