Great restaurant in the beautiful neighborhood of Yanahuara, Arequipa. My wife and I had lunch here in September 2025 and had a great experience. The food was very tasty, the prices very fair and the service by our waiter Rolando was excellent. We also loved the ambience - we had great weather and could sit in their beautiful garden. I would highly recommend this place!

Some of the best food we’ve had in all of our Peru holiday so far. Absolutely delicious dishes, fast and friendly service by Juan Carlos and his other colleagues, and all of this in a lovely garden area with birds and flowers. The queso helado was also a highlight.

Nice restaurant in a garden below street level. The place is much larger than it looks like from the outside. Two levels of terasses with lots of shade. Service was very quick. Lots of nibbles with our drinks. Ceviche was great, not overly sour like some other restaurants.

The place is nice, beautifully decorated and had a nice space for kids to play. The pisco sour it’s quite nice. In terms of food, it wasn’t what I was expecting after reading so many positive reviews. We ordered from the criollo section as we wanted the traditional local cuisine but failed to realise that all were made out potatoes - except for the rocotto, which also contained a lasagna made out of potatoes and the waiter didn’t even mention it. Almost nil protein at protein prices. Apart from that the dishes lacked flavour. I’ve had better rocottos at other places.

Very enjoyable Peruvian restaurant with outdoor seating in the garden. The garden is nice, green and quiet. The food was enjoyable and our waiter Juancarlos did a great job making our stay enjoyable by recommending dishes we enjoyed.

Great location beautiful garden and restaurant, a lot of attention for service and quality. One of Arequipa's finest restaurants. love it, also because I love photographing birds and there are plenty of those visiting the garden. I've been here several times. great staff too.

Our experience at Tío Darío was excellent. We were seated in the terrace, under a nice shade, surrounded by beautiful plants and flowers. It wasn't busy at lunch time, which made it even more enjoyable. The food was yummy and among the best I had in Peru. I ordered an Arequipan speciality, the ROCOTO RELLENO TRADICIONAL. The blend of hot pepper and beef together was incredible. In terms of spiciness, I started to sweat a bit and I felt the heat in my mouth, but the effects were manageable. The delicious pastel de papa, served as a side dish, is a great pairing, as the creamy texture of potato and cheese helps with the heat. I also had a ceviche and two drinks which were incredible. I believe the price to be great for the experience that I had. I will definitely go again, next time I visit Arequipa.
