8 best kid-friendly restaurants and cafés in Singapore for the whole family - SilverKris

"A safari-themed outlet of a French bakery chain located next to a garden setting, furnished with a canvas tent, rugs, old trunks, taxidermy butterflies and wooden décor that creates a whimsical, outdoorsy vibe. The menu features delicate French pastries and coffee along with exclusive garden-inspired drinks like Turmeric Ginger Latte and Beetroot Roselle Latte, while children can enjoy a retro swing and wooden animal structures in a sand pit." - Joy Fang

3 days in Singapore: The Lunar New Year edition - SilverKris

"Set in a leafy, safari-themed outpost, this branch serves picture-perfect pastries and breakfast: buttery croissants, beautifully glazed kouign-amann and colourful lattes made with beetroot or turmeric for an antioxidant boost. The relaxed, family-friendly vibe is amplified by a small wildlife-themed playground adjacent to the café, making it easy to linger while kids play." - Vanessa Tai and Mia Chenyze

This is one of the more interesting outlet of TBB. It has a safari theme. Dining area set within a large tentage with many fans… but pls note NO aircon. Surrounded by trees, fruit trees and some wild roosters loitering around. Offers a kampung feel/ rustic village vibes. Food (we had Tuna Sandwich & Ham Cheese Croissant) here doesn’t disappoint. And so are the beverages… all of certain standard. In fact I find the coffee here less sour than the branch in Vivocity. Car parking lots are limited within the private grounds. So avoid peak hours if u are driving.

Nice cafe with mainly outdoor seating. If you are driving here, there is a small private car park in front of the cafe. If you are a coffee fan, you will definitely want to give this cafe a try. The coffee is fantastic. Order a kouign-amann, their signature pastry. You will love it.

Very unique TBB. Nice space (albeit a little old looking). Also had mosquitoes, but it all adds to the vibe 😂

Food is good but service is horrids. There's a sign at entrance to wait to be seated. We saw that and stood there for awhile. There wasn't a queue but there also wasn't a staff in sight at all so I asked my partner to take a seat while I walked indoors to get assistance. There were two staff behind the counter inside and I asked if we could get help with clearing the tables. They told me to wait so I stood there. A third staff later walked in and I asked for assistance. She rudely told me there's a sign asking me to wait. I explained to her the situation and she told me "we only have four people working today". Perhaps we should make her job easier and walked off? She later came grudgingly to our table to clear and I say grudgingly because she made loud noises when clearing that another customer looked over at us and we kind of looked at each other in disbelief at the behavior this staff was exhibiting. A fourth staff later appeared and I asked for the name of the third staff. He told me that she's the manager and asked if I wanted to speak to her. Thanks but no thanks. If you have a manager with such an attitude leading the service, I shudder to think the kind of experience that customers get when they visit. Thanks but no thanks. TBR bakery has so many outlets to satisfy cravings and so many other dining options at Dempsey. Will NOT recommend.

Quite a charming place. We popped in for some pastries and coffee after having lunch next door. Service was friendly and quick, and I had the usual almond croissant, which was tasty. Best to try this place while you can cause understand it may close by the end of the year. Parking is a lottery though. The lots are usually full but it seems not with customers’ cars as we saw several people parking and then walking towards Botanical Gardens.

Tiong Bahru Bakery in Dempsey is an absolute gem! The safari-themed decor adds a unique and vibrant atmosphere that makes every visit feel like an adventure. The playful touches, like jungle-inspired artwork and lush greenery, create a delightful backdrop for enjoying delicious food. The pastries are nothing short of amazing! From their flaky croissants to the rich, decadent tarts, every bite is a treat. I particularly loved their signature Kouign Amann—it's perfectly crispy on the outside and wonderfully buttery on the inside. The staff is friendly and attentive, making sure you feel welcome and well taken care of. Whether you're grabbing a quick coffee or settling in for a leisurely brunch, the ambiance is perfect for any occasion. Overall, Tiong Bahru Bakery in Dempsey is a must-visit. The combination of delicious food and a fun safari theme makes it a standout spot for anyone looking to indulge in a delightful culinary experience!

It’s less safari and more “I had a farm in Africa…” with chickens running around (it’s connected to a community farm after all) but the slightly weird decor (longhorn skull ? on the wall) doesn’t really detract from the outdoor seating which is spacious, shaded and well ventilated with fans. Espresso was good and the chocolate almonds croissant (warmed up 👍) was superb. The seating is a little confusing (pick a table first - but there’s no obvious way to reserve it if you’re alone. Singapore is safe, but I still don’t want to leave my stuff sitting there unattended to hold the table while I order…)

Found this place when around Dempsey. Very unique and relaxing on 3pm evening. Not crowded but many bread items were sold out. Many car park available...if looking for chill, with free car park, this is one place to consider. Staff is friendly too.
