The best experiences in Singapore’s Fort Canning neighbourhood - SilverKris

"A bakery located in the refurbished buildings of the former River Valley Swimming Complex, just minutes from an MRT exit, that retains elements of the old swimming club and is known for crowd‑favourite bakes such as kouign amanns, ham‑and‑butter baguettes and highly regarded croissants and pain au chocolats." - Priyanka Agarwal

A very charming, swimming-themed outlet which occupies the location of the old River Valley Swimming Complex. This outlet also features an pet-friendly outdoor area where pets can chill while the owners have their meals and coffee. The food and coffee here is great. I have tried a variety of savory pastries (forgot some of their names) and they are delicious! Must have tried 6 different ones so far, and I probably like the croissant with mushrooms and brie best. Mocha is my choice of coffee. Great place to chill, eat, and drink coffee. Highly recommended.

I recently visited this cafe in Fort Canning Foothills. I initially ordered a lemon tart, a hot latte and a fruit juice (dragon fruit, soursop and green apple). The lemon tart was one of the best I've ever had - deep delicious lemon flavour and great texture. Excellent coffee and really healthy tasting juice. Everything was so good that I added an almond croissant, which I ate warmed. The croissant was really good - flaky and soft with nice almond flavour. The service was also really friendly. A great place to visit in the Fort Canning area.

Nice bakery with delicious bread, pastries and the prised kouign-amann. I really liked the bread as well the croissant, really delicious! You can get some complementary water, butter and different jams on the back of the shop for your croissant or whatever you ordered.

🟢 Tiong Bahru Bakery 70 River Valley Rd, #01-05 Foothills Fort Canning, Singapore 179037 _____________________________________ 🟡 My husband and I visited this beautiful Tiong Bahru Bakery outlet on 24th August 2025, Sunday evening, and ordered two items: 🟠 Iced Cafe Latte x 2 (SGD7 per glass) 🟠 Lemon Tart (SGD8.50) 🟧 The Lemon Tart is currently my favourite citrus tart. The custard filling is piquant and refreshing, with a well-balanced flavour that is not overly sweet. 🟫 The Iced Cafe Latte was customised to a single espresso shot for each glass. The coffee was well crafted, smooth, creamy, and flavourful. ______________________________________ 🟩 Decor & Ambience ************************* 🟢 This particular Tiong Bahru Bakery at Foothills Fort Canning is truly a beautiful cafe set amidst lush greenery, and is a refreshing escape from the city. 🟢 The colonial-era building itself is charming, with a clean white façade and large glass windows that lets in plenty of natural light. 🌳🌳 Surrounded by flowering trees and landscaped concrete pathways, the atmosphere feels almost like a hidden garden retreat. 🟩 Inside, the cafe is warm and welcoming, with stylish lighting and wooden furnishings. 🔵 A retail corner with merchandise items sits near the entrance doors. 🟩 The selection of pastries and coffee is consistent with other Tiong Bahru Bakery outlets ---flaky croissants, fresh bakes, and well-brewed coffee. 🟣Service **************** ⚫️ The Malay lady cashier at the front counter stood out for her friendliness, pleasant attitude, and cheerful service. 🟣 I truly appreciated her warm demeanour. I only wish the rest of the team could be equally as friendly and welcoming.

2nd time visiting here. Early morning on weekdays would be less crowded than weekends. I chose 2 new cake & drink today. The banana latte is nice . With peanut is a smart combination. This reminded me a lot of the banana ice cream I had. The apple crumble was a little sweet to me, but it’s still ok for a new try. TGIF!

This is probably my favorite Tiong Bahru branch since it's at the park. Sat outside to enjoy the lush greenery while enjoying my coffee and pastry. Saw that the cafe is also pet friendly though pets are only allowed on their outdoor seating area. I also like that they have a lot of merchandise available & I got a cap as a souvenir.

We got a pain au chocolat, green tea croissant, flourless chocolate cake, and almond croissant (not in photo). Really enjoyed these pastries! The croissants were flaky and the cake somewhat resembled the consistency of a brownie. It’s best to have them warm. We also got an iced hojicha and hot chocolate (not in photo). I liked the hojicha but my mom said the hot chocolate was nothing special. I’d recommend to pair the croissants with coffee and the cake with some warm milk :) The ambiance was nice and chill. The service was good too. Took us a while to find the cafe though since we came from the other end of Fort Canning.

Had a great experience at Tiong Bahru. The neighborhood is charming with its heritage streets, cozy cafés, and laid-back feel. Such a nice place to enjoy a slow and unhurried morning.
