The best experiences in Singapore’s Fort Canning neighbourhood - SilverKris

"A bakery located in the refurbished buildings of the former River Valley Swimming Complex, just minutes from an MRT exit, that retains elements of the old swimming club and is known for crowd‑favourite bakes such as kouign amanns, ham‑and‑butter baguettes and highly regarded croissants and pain au chocolats." - Priyanka Agarwal

We got a pain au chocolat, green tea croissant, flourless chocolate cake, and almond croissant (not in photo). Really enjoyed these pastries! The croissants were flaky and the cake somewhat resembled the consistency of a brownie. It’s best to have them warm. We also got an iced hojicha and hot chocolate (not in photo). I liked the hojicha but my mom said the hot chocolate was nothing special. I’d recommend to pair the croissants with coffee and the cake with some warm milk :) The ambiance was nice and chill. The service was good too. Took us a while to find the cafe though since we came from the other end of Fort Canning.

The kouign-amann was freshly baked, buttery, and delightfully sweet. The lemon tart was refreshingly tangy. The iced long black was decent, though not particularly outstanding. The café is located near Fort Canning—perfect for a recharge after a walk. The staff were friendly, service was quick, and there were available tables.

Delicious food in a lovely setting! We ordered four pastries and two coffees, which came to around $50 AUD (or SGD $42) - quite standard for westernised cafes in Singapore. Everything was fresh, and the coffees were strong. The peaceful park setting made the experience even more enjoyable - a perfect spot to relax and unwind.

Great pastries and coffee set at the base of Fort Canning. Used to be an old community pool many years ago. Had the Petit dejeuner set, comes with bottled juice too. Coffee was great! Don't forget to help yourself with some condiments/jams too! What a nice way to end our Singapore holiday!

Recommended place to have breakfast or lunch. The location quite near from the famous Fort Canning Tunnel, even though you have to walk, the atmosphere is nice because the scenery is mostly green, the area is suitable for jogging, near to a playground (if you bring kids), and also near to a bus stop. The price was reasonably worth it. We ordered something mushroom (my fav), kouign amann, almond croissant, everything tastes just right, not too sweet or too salty, just in the right proportion. Its not too spacious, they have outdoor and indoor.

Our hotel is across the street for the location inside Fort Canning park. The pastries and coffee are good. The variety of juices and teas are a plus. Sitting outside to eat with the park in the background is always great. We visited 3 times during our stay

After a leisurely stroll through the picturesque Fort Canning area, we arrived at our final destination—a charming little bakery that promised a delightful afternoon treat. We indulged in a flaky almond croissant, its golden crust giving way to a rich, nutty filling, perfectly complemented by a robust long black coffee. While the prices were on the higher side compared to other bakeries in Singapore, the cozy ambiance and the quality of the offerings made it a worthwhile splurge for an occasional visit. It was truly an experience to savor, adding a sweet note to our day.

It’s so rare to find any restaurants/cafe hidden within a forested area here in SG. Great coffee, great pastries and I deeply appreciate that they had an artist, Eric doing art workshop with kids. TBB don’t have to but doing it makes such a lovely touch! Weekend well spent over great convos, books and coffee
