I reckon the coffee at Tiong Hoe @ Stirling is one of the best coffee in Singapore, never fail to satisfy all my ☕️ cravings! You can even smell the coffee fragrant before entering the cafe. Tried some of their specialty coffee beans and all are great. Go for their Intense White option if you’d like an extra flavour, extra kick - my fav so far. 🫘 Love it!!

Tucked away in a neighbourhood, there is this little hidden gem (perhaps not that little). Ordered white with Autumn Amber. The first sip flew me back to Japan, where I had the best coffees. This place definitely knows how to roast their beans well. The hojicha tart was equally impressive, with a light, fragrant flavour, with the good ol' classic Singaporean phrase "not too sweet". It complemented my coffee well.

We were on the hunt for a nearby specialty coffee spot and came across Tiong Hoe Specialty Coffee in Queenstown. This cosy café is tucked away in the heartlands, not far from Queenstown Shopping Centre or even IKEA. It’s a great little stop if you're in the area and craving a good cup. Let’s talk coffee. I had a cappuccino with oat milk, while my friend went for a flat white. My cappuccino had a surprising almond-like aftertaste, which I suspect came from the oat milk enhancing the nutty notes. The finish was smooth and flavourful with a light sweetness, likely from a light to medium roast. I had a sip of the flat white too. It didn’t have that same almond edge, but it still carried a nice nutty profile. Well-balanced, well-extracted, and the milk was steamed to perfection. The café itself had a relaxing and cosy atmosphere, with soft background music and a warm, welcoming layout. There were about seven small tables inside with benchtop seating, and a couple of benches outside if you prefer a bit of fresh air. They serve a small selection of pastries, which seem to be more of a light snack to accompany your coffee rather than a full food offering. They also sell coffee beans and accessories. If you’re thinking of starting your own V60 pour over setup at home, they’ve got you covered, from beans to kettles. There are also cleaning tools if you already own a coffee machine. All in all, this place feels comfortable, unpretentious, and good for the soul. It wasn’t too busy during our visit, and the layout made it feel open and inviting rather than cramped.

Found a nice coffee place nearby after breakfast and ordered 2 white coffees. Both were smooth, aromatic and well crafted. You could even smell the coffee from outside. Definitely a great spot for coffee lovers!

A peaceful stop at Tiong Hoe Specialty Coffee. Love places like this — rich with history, rooted in the 1960s and still brewing stories in every cup.

Google
A quiet gem in Stirling for serious coffee lovers. Even the decaf drip is a revelation—bright berry notes, indistinguishable from regular caf coffee. Their iced black stays bold with slow-melting ice. Tiny, no-frills space (noise echoes, but focus on the brew). Friendly staff and in-house roasted beans (grab a bag). Coffee-first, no pretension—perfect for purists.

Yelp
One can smell the nice aroma of the coffee way outside the shop. The coffee was great and the staff was very friendly.

Yelp
Cute small coffee shop walkable distance from Park Hotel Alexandra. It's located Located in a shopping center. I ordered a almond milk latte while my friend ordered a cup of coffee with milk. The milk came in a tiny 15 mls beaker and it was the cutest thing ever. The coffee was good

Yelp
Quaint little coffee shop based in one of the oldest public housing estates in Singapore. A little nondescript, but unmistakably hip decor - newish designer touches mixed in with just enough vintage Singaporean coffee shop furniture to feel homey without being pretentious. A good mix of residents, young and old, make this less of a hip hangout and more of a local coffee spot. Ostensibly a re-do of an existing traditional local coffee roaster, this place does a selection of espresso and pourover brews (v60 and kalita), as well as some cold brew. Single origin beans from the usual places - Kenya, Brazil, etc. Had me a Nicaragua pourover - tasted a tad over roasted but still a well executed brew. Prices are very reasonable too - $5.50 for a pourover that would cost me $7 in a hipper joint. $15.50 for a 250g bag of whole beans, compared to $18-$20 elsewhere. Some dessert in the fridge - cakes and chocolate, plus what appears to be flavoured sodas. Didn't try 'em but good to know they have some sweets in case you're a bit famished. Definitely a decent and cosy venue for a quick cuppa, and a quiet place for a brief respite from the day's exertions. Will be back.

Yelp
After only 2 visits, tiong hoe has commandeered a place in my heart and quickly taken the top spot for a cuppa. On my first visit, we went during a weekday and was relatively quiet. It allowed us to peruse the descriptions of the different single origin beans. The cappuccinos are excellent as is the brew. I can't remember which beans I chose but the flavours were bright and robust. Payment is on a tip basis, it's so refreshing to see businesses place trust in their customers and not purely for profit. The owner was present at the store and you could see his passion just bubbling over. He was regaling the customers with tales of his experiences purchasing beans and being in the coffee business. You just can't help but want to sit down for that bit longer to learn from such a knowledge uncle! The neighborhood feel has been fantastic and won the top spot in my books.

Yelp
I was chatting with a friend about Geisha, my other top roaster in Singapore. "Oh, that guy? Apparently he had a major fallout with Mr. Tan" "Mr. Tan?" "Yes, he's the top master in Singapore, he's been around for 40 years". How did I not know this? Because I'm an ignorant expat that's how. Time to resolve this glaring omission in my Singapore coffee map. All good things have a cost. In Tiong Hoe's case, it is not financial. He still sells some coffees for $13 a bag, when Nylon has recently hiked theirs up to $22. No, the cost is walking up the damn hill to the HDB estate where it is located. The smell of nutty cut grass (slightly like horse manure) that indicates a batch being roasted was a hint, you could smell it from the gate. 100m down the road, the famous green sign which to my non-Chinese-reading self looks exactly like Tiong Bahru Bakery (perhaps the latter copied Tiong Hoe, given the timeline). "We roast Tuesdays and Thursdays", they said. Well, it is Tuesday. About 2/3 of the selection had been roasted today or yesterday, which was heartening. It is exhausting to be told by yet another dishonest salesperson that it is fine, coffee roasted 3 weeks ago is still delicious. Not here. Not only did they agree on the importance of freshness, they bagged me some fresh off the roaster after I complained that no Africa origin had been in the morning's batch. Wonderful! The Tanzania pourover was good. If I may nitpick, I prefer to warm the beaker before pouring; this is something Geisha does systematically. But the pouring technique was adequately slow with the right amount of water and waiting at the beginning to release the gases. A few degrees will not stop me from giving this place 5 stars. I did not try the food but it looked appetising. 3 bags of single origin freshly roasted and a pourover and I walk away paying just a hint over $50, instead of $70 with Nylon (without the pourover). My only regret was not meeting the famous Mr. Tan, but his staff is very competent and pleasant to deal with. I will update this review with my impressions on the various beans as I try them.

Yelp
Great coffee at very reasonable prices. It's lovely to find a cafe in my hood that does coffee as well as it does cosy. I especially enjoy their pour overs. A quality establishment that will be around for a long time.

Yelp
You could smell it before you spotted it. Inconspicuous, heavenly in smells, even better in taste - can't ask for more (perhaps just that it won't get so big that it turns into a full-blown cafe). The yuzu cheesecake was small but rich enough to make you not regret forking out for it

Yelp
My favourite coffee shop in Singapore. Even after cafe-hopping around Singapore, Tiong Hoe still serves the best coffee. A cappuccino is $4.50 for hot, $5.00 for cold. I can't remember the rest of the prices. For some it can be quite pricey, but honestly the taste and flavour is worth so much more than that $5. My personal favorite is their cappuccino, but their house specialty is with the black coffee as they take great pride in the beans they have. The baristas are very knowledgeable about their beans. I took my mother to Tiong Hoe's and requested for black coffee that's not too acidic as she has a weak stomach. The lady at the cashier understood immediately and recommended a single-origin coffee that's just fantastic. They added cakes to the menu last year. The cakes are really good. I like to order the lemon meringue cake as the taste goes well with their coffee. This cafe is one that's run by passion and love, not by money and profits. If this sounds like something you're looking for, Tiong Hoe's coffee is for you.

Yelp
My first barista experience here in SG, the pour over is pretty good as well as their cake. Specially recommend the rose tea cake. The price here is decent while the ambiance is quiet and cozy
