"Opened in 2015 in the Lower West Side, Tipico brought a new kind of coffee shop to Buffalo. Complete with industrial-chic decor and huge windows that open onto the sidewalk, the spot is bright and airy, with a coastal California vibe not found anywhere else in the city. The team here roasts all their beans in a nearby facility and serves nearly a dozen varieties of single-origin and blend coffees, plus one of the best lattes in town. Come in the morning, order your favorite coffee drink, and pair it with one of the delicious toasts on offer, from ricotta and chocolate to chèvre with wild honey."

Best coffee in Buffalo. They source good beans and roast them properly. (So good). Everything bagel is damn good as well. Friendly staff, (which is always appreciated). I find it inconvenient ,that weekend hours that they open at 8am , but maybe thats why the staff are so friendly. The location is a fun part of Buffalo, the Elmwood Village. I love this place.

Google
Tipico is a great cafe, but their roasted beans aren't worth buying. Opinions vary on how long beans should degas after being roasted but the stuff on their shelves has been sitting too long. It's been typical to see beans roasted 10 days earlier & sometimes more than 2 weeks. Sadly, if you care about quality beans your best option is not in Buffalo. I get great beans from a roaster in Erie, PA & they arrive via parcel plus mail just 2-3 days after being roasted. Even with shipping the cost is less than Tipico charges for beans that are past their prime. Local bakeries deliver fresh bread to the coop daily -- there's no reason Tipico can't do better. It's a scheduling problem & they could easily solve it by roasting fewer beans at a time & roasting more often. So: 5 stars for the cafe & 3 for the beans.

Google
This cute coffee shop is clean, bright, and very unique! The blue counters pair well with the branding, however the highlight is the delicious coffee that is sourced directly from Costa Rica. They are in direct trade with a family in Costa Rica who grows the beans themselves! Staff is very friendly and fast to provide you service. I enjoyed the maple and brown sugar overnight oats, along with one of the many specials, the maple bun latte. Overall I had a great experience and plan to return to Tipico for breakfast and coffee in the future!

Beautiful space, delicious coffee and Prosecco for summer afternoons! Also love their social media - hysterical!

Google
I am sorry but we couldn’t like this place. My cappuccino had zero foam, it was like latte. The avocado toast was below average. The muffin we got was raw in the center. I believe there are better coffee houses to visit in the city. I am giving 2 stars for the effort of the staff.

Google
Cute, and a perfect stop in on a rainy day. I got a hot cup of chai latte to go. It was quick and the people were so pleasant. Will be stopping back in on my next visit into town. Maybe it will be sunny and the patio will be the place to be.

Google
Very slow service, they didn’t heat the bread pudding or even offered to, took over half an hour in 2 sanwiches, and it wasn’t even that busy. I think they were prioritizing doordash orders. They took 18 minutes in getting our iced lattes. The sandwiches tasted good and the coffee was ok too.

Google
I have coffee @tipico every first of the month at 7am, the coffee, food and service are awesome. November project buffalo have been meetingvthere for coffee for several years

Yelp
Went for a breakfast meeting and got the chorizo and egg breakfast burrito which came with sweet potatoes, cheese, and some kind of peppers inside. It was really yummy and definitely was a great start to the day, food wise. I also had an iced chai latte and added a shot of cookie butter syrup to it, which was totally unnecessary, but definitely was delicious, lol. Breakfast burrito was $11.75 which I thought was a bit high for what you were getting but overall the ambience and meal experience was great. It's not a very large café indoors, but there is seating both in front and behind the counter area to mix things up and there is an outdoor patio space that can be utilized with additional seating as well.

Yelp
When I'd visit Buffalo, Tipico's former west side location was a favorite of mine. It was such an inviting space. This location on Elmwood benefits from much greater pedestrian traffic. Consequently, I turned away several times because the place was brimming with folks. In this Sunday morning, I lucked out and I was the only one there. Sitting down with a latte -- Tipico makes such flavorful coffee beverages -- and a ho hum looking egg sandwich that was actually really good made for a nice start to a rainy and chilly day in the city. Fall has settled in.

Yelp
This a great spot on Elmwood that has everything you could ask for of a coffee shop and more! I stopped in here for a quick bite and a meeting. The vibes here are great. The decor, the paint colors, everything just comes together perfectly for that chill shop vibe. I ordered an iced latte and an everything bagel. I almost went for the burrito but that's my order next time. The bagels are from Dopest Dough so that was going to be great and it was! Great crunch and toasted perfectly. The latte was made perfectly and hit great as we sat outside in the sunshine. Service here is phenomenal. They took our coffee and food order, and before I could go back in to grab the food, they brought it out to us on the porch. The wifi here was also great and super fast which was helpful for our meeting. Parking isn't too bad here. Mostly street but you can probably park over in the lot across the street too. Overall, this is a great spot to go for a quick bite and a coffee. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
Knowing that my first time walking in on a Sunday brunch time (10:45/11 am) was going to be busy, the 20 minute line was not a problem. However the Samoa (hot Coconut milk Latte) Was mediocre at best. I thought I would be a bit more excited. Also I enjoy my coffee really hot, it was warm at best. Most likely was rushing and did not steam said coconut milk. I'd give another try but I wouldn't run back.

Yelp
Food was really good, drinks were great too. A very nice ambiance with indoor and outdoor seating. Staff was very friendly. Would recommend, would go back.

Yelp
Great coffee and great vibes. Bright and inviting atmosphere with an open outdoor patio overlooking Elmwood. Staff is always friendly and informative. A must-stop whenever I'm in the area.

Yelp
These days, I drink coffee pretty sparingly, but I can never resist checking out the wonderful coffee shops Buffalo is blessed with. I'd never tried Tipico before (not even at their former location), so I decided it was finally time to give them a shot. A friend and I stopped in on a Saturday morning and it was busy, but the staff got through orders with lightning speed. They have so many flavored syrups and quite a few seasonal drink offerings, and while I normally would've ordered an iced tea, I couldn't resist trying out their Orange creamsicle cold brew. I am SO glad I did! It really did taste like the staple summertime treat, and I didn't find the coffee flavor overbearingly strong. My friend got an iced chai latte and a breakfast wrap, she loved both. I'm definitely going to be back here to check out their food and try some more of those unique syrup flavors they offer. You can truly get whatever your heart desires here, and I think Tipico is an awesome alternative to chain coffee shops.

Yelp
We just keep coming back. Right now I really love their breakfast bagel sandwich on the dopest dough bagels. The everything bagel is dreamy and I do the plain cream cheese and add bacon, it's good! We've also had the best service that last two times we've been in. The barista that cashed us out is so kind and gives my son a sticker and they've been so nice about giving him a little cup of milk to enjoy. I think the best days to come are early in the week and early in the morning-less people slower paced it's really nice.

Yelp
i've come here for coffee in the past but ordered the lamb and breakfast empanada for the first time this visit. it was pretty decent for what i was expecting from a cafe! taste and texture was fresh and the portion was decent. they gave one time use sauce containers which isn't ideal :") but the sauces were delicious!!! perfect for the individual empanadas, great balance of flavors. the skin was just crispy enough for a satisfying texture. i personally find the coffee to be okay here but maybe that's just contrast with the hype i heard about this place. the ambiance is great but they always seem a bit busy. some people study, chat, or hangout here. they have outdoor seating but might be a bit cold in the winter season. the store is pretty big so you should be able to find seating if you wait around just a bit!
google avatar

Alex T.

Yelp
This place is definitely a community favorite- I've visited a few times on a weekend and it's always busy. Hard to get a table if you don't come early, but the interior is very homey yet modern. The menu is extensive with some super unique options, including the dopest dough bagels that you'd otherwise have to drive 30 minutes to get. Coffee is soooooooo expensive, but it is very good. Give this place a shot if you're in the area and in the mood for good coffee and a good bagel.

Yelp
The quick review: Sadly not what it used to be. The old location had great coffee and great food that was made fresh. Now all food is quick baked in what is essentially a microwave, or premade and cold. There isnt even a toaster for bagels. The espresso drinks are good, not great. Either they are using a bland house blend, or water down their espresso. The staff seems uninterested in the work they are doing, and it shows in the food and drink. At least they serve food on plates and dont have everything going to the landfill. As far as vibe, its typical modern coffeehouse where there were some choices made for decor but overall nothing interesting. Usually chill music, what else to expect? Compared to the original Tipico, this feels like a chain coffeehouse keeping their costs down and product at medium quality.

Yelp
A great place to stop for just a coffee or for lunch. It is a little set back from the street with a nicely designed garden up front. Tipoco has a small patio overlooking the busyness of Elmwood. Inside a number of tables and high tops. I decided on their cold brew coffee, a very nice and smooth drink. Very refreshing too. It was around lunch time, so I decided to try the Pork Empanadas. You get 2 empanadas for $8. Coffee and Cocoa rubbed pulled pork, with either chipotle mayo or fermented chimichurri. A very nice dish, not too big, but definitely enough for lunch.

Tyler M.

Yelp
Food and coffee were delicious. I got the quick cup and breakfast sandwich with everything bagel, bacon, and honey chipotle cream cheese. Service was super quick, no line to be fair. The ambiance was very cozy and inviting.
google avatar

Erika S.

Yelp
Cute spot! I had the Lavender Honey Chai. The Chai is made in house and was really good... just a little on the expensive side.

Tati H.

Yelp
why have really good bread and then serve your toast cold and soft also bring back your avocado toast please how could you get rid of it

Diana N.

Yelp
I wish they didn't charge almost $9 for a latte! My purple chai (just add some blueberry syrup) was like $8.95. Come on guys it's just a latte. A good chicken sandwich costs that much. $7 just for a bagel?? This is crazy. Bagel & some butter or cheese is $4. The staff never smiles. The newest guy working there seems to hate his job. Good luck

Yelp
Típico's menu has lots of different hot and cold drinks to choose from. I also noticed that they have different cafe style food to offer. Even though it was very busy, my order was taken promptly and I was impressed with how quick my drink was made. The inside seating options was on the smaller side, but on a nice day they have a large deck to sit outside and some front lawn seating. I got an iced chai latte, which I thought was delicious.
google avatar

Joe S.

Yelp
Delicious food great ambience and a nice place to stop breakfast. I had the avocado toast. Very good but small portions.
google avatar

Jenna R.

Yelp
Their hot chocolate is soo good. I came here to meet with a friend and it's such a cute little spot inside. There are tables to sit and do any work if you need to. The service was quick.

Ryan G.

Yelp
We came to sit outside on their patio with our pet and were told to leave because animals were not allowed on the deck. We wouldn't normally have a problem except there was a dog INSIDE. I'm not sure if they didn't like us or our animal but just keep in mind that pet friendly is subjective.

Yelp
Came for the locally roasted coffee, stayed for the ambiance. Upon walking in, I was met with the most bright, beautiful, and inviting setup. It's not your traditional hipster, artsy coffee shop vibe, although it does host a gorgeous mural right outside of their doors. There's a warm, quirky, eclectic, summer breeze kind of feel about it. I'd happily sit here, knocking out work for hours, or maybe even catch up with a friend in their outdoor seating area. Beyond the atmosphere, their coffee is standout. Their beans -- from the roast to the blend to the cooking method --are exactly what I was wanting. Smooth ride from start to finish. I had all of the intentions in the world to be simple & order a cortado, but when I saw their seasonal options, I caved & got swindled into sipping on their orange mocha. No regrets from this chick though, because this drink was equilibrium in a cup. The spices, the sweetness, the citrus, the roast, the creaminess -- they all melded together so perfectly, balancing each other out. And it seems like they put a lot of care, time, & creativity into whipping up seasonal cups like this all of the time! 14/10 would recommend. Cheers to Tipico!

Yelp
really enjoyed my iced vanilla oat latte! I can't speak on the food because I didn't get anything but I did see a couple vegan options on the menu :)
google avatar

Carlos L.

Yelp
What a fantastic place, so pretty and clean. The best coffee in Buffalo. Fantastic for brunch. I will definitely come back. Thanks Típico
google avatar

Kate B.

Yelp
Very rarely do I get to sip a latte in a window seat! Tipico latte was awesome. S'more cookie was pretty good. Nice spot on Elmwood away from the busyness around the Panera area.
google avatar

Señor T.

Yelp
My tried and true! I can't trust any other café to make a consistently balanced espresso drink. The lighter roast of the beans definitely helps the brightness of the coffee stand out from the milk in steamed beverages. I can't stand a muddy/milky drink so if I want a real treat, it's gotta be Tipico.
google avatar

Victor L.

Yelp
Good cup of coffee and pretty decent vibe. I was surprised they didn't have almond milk but they did have oat milk.
google avatar

Ryna D.

Yelp
New location! On our previous visit to Buffalo, we discovered Tipico and really enjoyed their coffee so we came back. They've since moved locations and the new shop looks fantastic! Still excellent espresso drinks!

Danielle S.

Yelp
This place is great and has amazing food but it's very expensive honestly. I was shocked when I heard the total. But it's great nonetheless. The coffee is even better. The service was average! Inside the colors are a lot... but your eyes adjust
google avatar

Alex L.

Yelp
Before COVID-19 hit, I had a chance to check out Tipico II in late March. The new space looked lovely and this space is even more important now that their flagship location near D'Youville closed. Unfortunately, while you can't go inside it yet - the space is unique and wonderfully hipster if you're into that sort of thing. Lights strung along near the bar area in an interesting exposed fashion, but where it really shines is the patio! It's got a super neat patio! The coffee I had when I was there was delicious too and they have plenty of machines as well. Definitely give the space a chance when you get a chance to walk in! ...hopefully soon!
google avatar

Maria B.

Yelp
I'm excited this opened here. I'm in the area often and it's nice to have a new coffee shop. It's got a similar feel to the Fargo location, but it's much more welcoming. It's in a house that's been repurposed. I'm not sure what used to be here. They are selling Bakery 55 baked goods. The interior is blue and pretty. There've created a very nice "bar space" which will lead to collaboration and new friendships I'm sure. A large patio for the outside is going to get plenty of use. Next to Half and Half and across from Panos. Street parking.

Karnesha G.

Yelp
Salted chocolate chip cookie was excellent and paired well with my iced tea. Great find.
google avatar

Amber J.

Yelp
Love everything about this place! Coffee is good, baristas are nice, and cafe itself is cozy and sweet. We got two coffees, an avocado toast, and an egg and cheese sandwich and everything was tasty. We went on a Sunday morning and there weren't a lot of people, so we were able to sit inside with our little one. I can see parking being a difficulty when it's busier, but other than that, loved it!
google avatar

Amanda M.

Yelp
prices are a bit high, and the shop was completely inaccessible for me with a stroller so I had to visit later on. Otherwise the breakfast wrap and coffee were really great. Friendly staff. Cute spot to sit and socialize or just drink your coffee alone.

John C.

Yelp
i've always loved Tipico coffee. It's been about two years since I've had it so I went today to the Elmwood location. I ordered a large vanilla latte with oatmilk. I'm ordering a latte at a nice coffee place, especially in the city I am expecting to pay six maybe even seven dollars. The price for a large vanilla latte with oat milk is $8.75. I just think this is an absolutely ridiculously high price and that Tipico is trying to take advantage of people who don't want to use regular milk. It's understandable for there to be an up charge but a two dollar up charge for flavor, and another $1.50 up charge for oat milk is excessively high. I unfortunately will not be returning to Ticco after this as I can find every other place in the city to get a coffee from that won't be $8.75. It's a shame because I've always loved Tipico and spoken highly about it to others.
google avatar

Jennifer R.

Yelp
This place is really delicious. Their lattes are delicious and so smooth. Their breakfast burrito was super good, I've never had sweet potatoes and corn with my eggs and bacon wrapped up in a tortilla. They get pretty busy so it does take some time for your food to come out (about 20-30 min). I do find it a bit pricey for what you get though so I would say a one and done. Roughly about $18 for a 12oz latte and burrito (with no sides) is a bit steep. They have very limited indoor seating so avoid if you don't plan on sitting at their deck outside. But overall most certainly good food!
google avatar

Rose S.

Yelp
I've visit Tipico a bunch for coffee (always delicious), but this was my first time sitting down for lunch. Their menu has so many unique options. I'm not vegan or even vegetarian but this vegan sandwich was soooo yummy. Much lighter than a normal fried chicken sandwhich, but just as satiating and satisfying. My mom got the breakfast burrito, which she loved. If you are on Elmwood or in the city definitely stop here!!!
google avatar

Georginia S.

Yelp
Coffee shops opened late, with plant babies everywhere, and beautiful outdoor patio? Sign me up! This coffee shop in Elmwood has all homemade syrups, and delicious recommendations. The baristas are so nice and knowledgeable, and really care about the experience of each customer. I got a vanilla lavender latte with oat milk and it was wonderful! Not overly sweet and really smooth. They also have some breakfast items, and they provide lunch via a local company called Lunchbox. Can't wait to come back here and sit on the patio!
google avatar

Katie P.

Yelp
This is a such a cute coffee shop. There are bright colors, a lot of cute plants and string lights all around. I ordered a latte with a shot of mocha and it was delicious! They have a few baked goods for sale as well. It's walking distance from where I live so I will be back to try out more!

Galia R.

Yelp

Yelp
Great food, best coffee, awesome ambience. Great coffee stop while driving through state.

Yelp
Friendly staff, delicious food and fresh coffee. Great place to have a quick breakfast or brunch date or solo mission

Yelp
Visiting Buffalo for the day while on vacation, I was looking for a place to get coffee and a light meal, and my friend found this place. It was a true delight! I am pretty particular about my coffee, and here I ordered a cold brew and the prosciutto and egg sandwich, and both were really really tasty. The cold brew was smooth and had great flavor. The sandwich was rich but not heavy, and was served with pickled onions on the side that really rounded out the plate. There was both indoor and outdoor seating, and this would be a great place to work! My only regret is that I live so far away that I won't be able to visit regularly!

Monica P.

Yelp
Típico is airy & spacious - two areas inside & a big deck out front. You can buy their beans there or online (including women-farmed, thank you!). And they have the best quality travel mug I've found in Buffalo (Miir brand). Great cold brew, macha, chai, hot cocoa too. Respectful of dietary and milk options.
google avatar

Yelp
Very sweet and welcoming staff. Delicious food. Great vibes! Highly recommend. We were in town for 4 days. Went to Tipico the first morning we stayed in Buffalo.

Rosina S.

Yelp
Such a cute place! The staff are so friendly and helpful and the cafe is bright with beautiful patio and garden seating. One of the best lattes I've ever had and the sandwiches are funky and delicious.
google avatar

Chrisy Y.

Yelp
So cute! I love coming here to study. Lots of natural lighting and music is really chill/not too loud. I had the London fog with oat milk (soo good--not too sweet) and the salami baguette. Every time I try something new here I always love it! The only thing is they don't have lots of outlet spaces for plugging in except in the back, but there isn't as much natural light back there. The porch is really nice too!
google avatar

Nicolette C.

Yelp
This place is so cute, the coffee is DELICIOUS and the staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. I visited after a friend of mine from Chicago told me his buddy owned it, and I love supporting local. The ham, egg and cheese sandwich was so good and my hubby loved the blueberry buckle. Will definitely be visiting this spot on the regular! 10/10 recommend.

Jamie R.

Yelp
Wife and I came for the first time to get iced lattes. They were both really good. Tipico has house made syrups. I got the nutmeg vanilla and she got the honey cardamom. Better than Overwinter in my opinion. Stronger espresso at Tipico

Yelp
this coffee shop is warm and inviting. the colorful mural near the door makes for a nice spot to relax and enjoy a cup. also, the coffee was delicious. i am a big coffee snob and this place was top notch.
