"Colorful, Snarky Eats and Drinks at a Belizean Sports and Karaoke Bar You'll know Tipsy Tuna when you see it: the bright pink, purple, blue, and green tables and chairs, the leopard print on the walls, the snarky signs plastered everywhere—even on the ceiling. Only slightly less local than its equally loud neighbor Barefoot Bar, Tipsy Tuna is the place to be for happy hour. Most nights, you can find DJs spinning tunes for dancing or lively karaoke going on past 9 p.m. As the name suggests, most people come here for the drinks, which are numerous, cheap, and strong. The food, however, isn't to be scoffed at, especially if you're into well-utilized spices and a million types of salsa."

Why You Should Go to Belize Now

"Tipsy Tuna is described as a big, wide painted-wood place that feels like an African dance bar: jazzy and jolly, with floorboards still vibrating from last night."

This is good place and worth to try. Huge terrace with sea view, and they have a live music. We had only their lunch menu, which was typical local chicken, rice with beans and banana, and it was delicious! Also value for money is good here, comparing with some other really overpriced places.

My first time to the Tipsy Tuna. I plan on going back soon and adding to this review. It's open air with a beautiful view of the water with sitting on bar stools along the rail. Also a small bar that caters to the entire bar. Service was very slow but I'm learning that's Belize. We didn't try the good as we had a couple of beers and left. I live down the street now and will be visiting often as I like the vibe and open air. The servers are very nice. Maybe a little short handed. Please give thus place a try. I'm curious as to what others think.

Difficult to describe the food… definitely not worth a stop or what they charge for it. Service is miserable, one dish (out of 3) coming before all the drinks… and they still have the nerve to come back and ask to add the tip before running the credit card… for what? I would have given a negative tip if I could! Asked the server to give me a rum drink, not sweet, the bartender can choose.. I ended up with a Long Island ice tea for $12 (US)!! Really? Loading of booze.. I couldn’t touch it. After all the amazing drink I add all over the place, this was a shame… The place is well located, and that’s it. But walk a little further and you have much better!!

Great atmosphere, food, drinks, and service! A must go if you're planning a visit to Placencia Village, Belize! The restaurant is located directly on the beach, and definitely gives the carribean beach vibes. They have karaoke nights, Belizean drummers, great music and laid-back vibes. A one-of-a-kind beach restaurant/bar to relax and enjoy your time in the beautiful country of Belize!

2025 UPDATE: The food tastes like something that’s been sitting in the freezer for months and they just toss it in a fryer with blackened oil and sell it to you for $20. The portion is small and that’s probably a blessing in disguise. We all had stomach ache afterwards and I can honestly feel the stomach bug coming as I sampled the ceviche. The waiters didn’t want to be there. She had to ask to see my watch to confirm discount for wings— which once again, taste like something from a dystopian sci-fi kitchen where human no longer have food and had to hunt each other for nutrients. The only thing remotely nice is the beach, so credit to the owner for securing this location but everything else needs a complete redo.

Sadly on 3 different visits did we wait more than 20 minutes for service,at the bar and at tables, 11 of us split up and no one got service. It wasn't busy, most tables empty, lots of servers. We waited patiently and asked fir a server and we're told they will come... she came to one tables dirty items, said nothing and walked away. The bartender was rude to 3 in our group at the bar trying to order a beer. We went yo Bohemian and had an amazing experience!

We had an incredible experience at Tipsy Tuna in Placencia, Belize! While searching for a spot to watch the Stanley Cup Final, our tour guide and several locals at Naia Resort highly recommended this place—and they were absolutely right. At first, it seemed like there were no TVs, but when we asked about the game, the staff went above and beyond. They opened up an entire sports bar for us and even turned on the sound—a rare luxury compared to the bars back home in Houston! The hospitality was unmatched, and the atmosphere was exactly what we wanted for watching the big game. If you're looking for a lively spot with excellent service and an unbeatable local vibe, *Tipsy Tuna* is the place to be. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Placencia!
