Highly Recommended! I had a wonderful stay at Hotel International in Tirana. The location is perfect — right in the heart of the city, making it easy to walk to the main attractions, restaurants, and cafes. The staff was extremely kind and helpful throughout my stay, always available to assist with any questions or needs. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, with a great view over the city. Breakfast was fresh and varied, with local and international options to suit all tastes. Since I had to leave very early for a tour one morning, I asked if it was possible to get something to take away — and they kindly prepared a breakfast box for me. That extra effort really made a difference! Whether you’re visiting Tirana for business or leisure, Hotel International offers excellent service and a relaxing atmosphere. I would definitely stay here again!

Stayed twice. First time had smooth, friendly check-in. Second time, manager insisted on keeping my passport until check-out. I explained this is illegal and it belongs to the Canadian Government. He replied, “Why are you being so difficult?” No one was being difficult, I am just protecting my legal rights. Rooms were clean, breakfast was good, but this incident means I cannot recommend or return.

This central hotel is well positioned for a visit to the city next to the main square of Tiranë. ||The rooms are spacious but lack a number of things for the guests. There is no place to put cases. No kettle or tea and coffee facilities, no iron or ironing board. One strange thing for a modern hotel is only one plug, a major inconvenience when you need to charge multiple things. The room did have a small refrigerator and a safe. ||The shower over the bath was difficult as we have some mobility issues. The shower was also difficult to control so we ended up with a bathroom floor covered in water. ||The air conditioning needed an engineer to sort it and it wasn’t great when it is 32c outdoors. ||WiFi is like back in the 70/80’s sooooo slow. ||The breakfast restaurant at busy times expect to queue and expect there to be empty food containers. The staff were replenishing things but if you are in a hurry they are not. The whole experience is of chaos. Why only one coffee machine serving 200 guests at a time? No fruit and to be honest poor selection for a major hotel. ||Overall good location but lacking some basic four star essentials.

It's in the very central part of the city, so it's easy to go around. Rooms on the upper floors on the side of the main square have an excellent view (well, it would be nice if the windows would be washed after a long time) Rooms are a bit outdated, and breakfast is regular. The staff is very friendly and attentive. very good English; Sonia, the front desk chief, is doing a fantastic job. The Hotel has some weak points, but the staff make it up.

This hotel has got a lot of history (first modern hotel in Albania) and it’s very conveniently located on Skanderbeg Square. There is lots of underground parking, which is free for guests. Overall, it’s been refurbished to a roughly early-2000s standard.||Check-in was rather unusual, as we were asked to leave a passport as surety with reception – we refused and eventually agreed this wouldn’t be necessary. Certainly not a discussion you’d expect to have at a superior international hotel.||Our room on the 8th floor had a view of the Intercontinental Hotel being built right behind the International, which wasn’t great. The room itself was basic, but functional. For some reason we were also given a third foldout bet, which we didn’t need and which took up a lot of space. The HVAC worked fairly well and the room was cool despite the 35C weather outside. ||The bathroom was fairly modern and everything worked well. The bathtub/shower was super narrow and awkward to get into and move around. Both the room and bathroom were very clean.||Breakfast was a rather strange and basic buffet, but it did the job. Nice views of the Square, though.||The WiFi was terrible, to the point it was unusable and I used my mobile connection.||We did get a good rate, so would describe the hotel as good value, but would likely not consider staying again.

Room was standard dull , dated but the view of the skanderberg square from the room and the great location made up for it ..as it is the city centre it was difficult to drive to the entrance when checking in but not as confusing once we figured the route and in off peak hours . Self parking in the basement was convenient too.. breakfast was crowded affair and especially on 1st Jan , most items especially those suited to us vegetarians were empty early morning and not replenished….inspite of this I would recommend.

This morning, I was waiting for a car to take me to the beach, with the agreed pick-up point being in front of International Hotel. I planned to wait for about 10 minutes and decided to sit in the hotel lobby to rest. As soon as I entered the lobby and placed my bag on a sofa, before I could even sit down, a staff member at the reception desk asked me what I was there for. I explained that I was just waiting for my car and was not checking in. However, he responded in an extremely rude manner, saying, “You need to go outside and wait, you cannot stay here,” while pointing toward the reception area and adding, “because there is no one else here,” clearly implying that I might steal something. Such a disrespectful and offensive attitude left me feeling extremely disgusted. I chose not to argue and left immediately. I find it hard to imagine what kind of service this hotel could possibly offer with staff behaving in such a manner.

Very promising: central location, legacy 4 stars hotel, the hotel is being upgraded and some of the rooms look really nice. However, I was met by a cold and almost scolding staff at the reception, and after that, by bedbugs in the room, which didn't even wait for darkness to come out! I got another room, without bedbugs but the trust was gone. I never got an apology from the hotel. On practical issues, breakfast is just OK, coffee is not very good. It would have been nice to have free water in the room, since the tap water is not drinkable. At the end of the day, just a disappointment, when you know that there are better options around at a better price. Will be remembered for all the wrong reasons...
