Tiscornia Park

Great place to cool off and ride your jetskis boating, place to go when you want to get away from, the city.

Discovery Park was absolutely beautiful yesterday 😍 it was so many ppl out having a good time we really had a lot of fun BBQ and swimming 🏊‍♀️ Porta potties are a little rough and get there early for good parking

Very pleasant , kids loved this place hell they even have a docked boat that sell food and ice cream but you still have to get in the water to go place your order will repeat the visit.but they do have a few homeless camps even one on the far end of the beach , where one lady was washing clothes in the river but all and all this is a nice place to go and relax and or bring the kiddo's out for an family adventure.

It's so peaceful here I love watching the waves, seals playing and soaking up some sun The best thing yet it's only 10 minutes away from home👍

A beautiful park. Has access to the Sacramento and American river. A great place to take a walk and fish with families. This park has a few trails too.

It was a pleasent experience. We were visiting Sacramento and a friend invited us to take the boat on the river. It was a friendly atmosphere on the boat. The guide giving us a lot of information about facts and history. We enjoyed the nature and viewed the city from a diffrent angle. The highlight of this trip was seeing the amazing design of the nature where Califorina and Sacramento rivers meet. You could see in the picture the boundary of the two rivers. The color of the water is diffrent. Highly recomand the ride, don't miss it if you are in Sacramento.

We went kinda late but it was beautiful and relaxing.

Although this is a small river park, I absolutely love the secluded feel of the area. You can swim, fish, ride your boat, grill BBQ, play ball and chill by the river. I discovered this park by accident while biking around Old Sacramento one summer afternoon. I fell in love. Tiscornia is like a hidden gem along the Sacramento River. Despite the previous low review, I think this park is rather nice. There may not be a lot of benches and tables but it is clean. This is a perfect spot for a laid back afternoon BBQ. They also provide free life jackets for kids which I thought was really courteous for the swimmer's safety. Most beaches and river parks I have seen don't provide life jackets. The view is also amazing! You get the central view of cross section where the American River and Sacramento River intersects and the green I-5 American River bridge to the right that takes you to Discovery Park. I think this makes Tiscornia park and special and unique spot in Sacramento city. I come out here for a short run, bike ride in the afternoon and sunset gazing during the summer days. I am hoping to get a boat out here and cruise around the river. The only warning is that like any other parks or places in downtown, there will be people who comes to smoke, drink and camp out (mostly homeless people) with their tents and trailers. The last three times I have been, I didn't see them, but just be aware of your surroundings. The area is relatively safe and close to some five star inns, Motel 6 and good restaurants. So if you're looking for a more quiet and secluded, small river park to relax and enjoy the view with a good company, head out to a Tiscornia park.

Lovely little area and very clean. Although i wish people would be more respectful and not blast there music so loud on boats and pick up after themselves

I love this park. It is where the Sacramento and American Rivers come together. The water is usually very clear and there is a nice sandy bottom (none of that Mucky stuff that your feet stick in). I enjoy wading/swimming here. Swimming here can be dangerous. Use one of the provided (for free) life vests. On the downside, it can get very crowded on warm weekends. Unfortunately, a lot of the people that come here seem to litter despite plenty of trash cans around.

Hoping to take a walk along the river. No trails. A good place to sit or launch a boat. Trash along the dirt road and no access to "Nature Area." Also the 5 freeway is overhead, with its noise and fumes.

If you want to go swimming here, especially with kids, only go on the weekend so that there's many people around you. Went on a Saturday and it was so packed we couldn't find a place to sit on the beach. Then went on a weekday and it was bums all over the beach, walking around high or smoking, I was afraid for myself and kids. My daughter actually dropped my phone and after looking for hours my husband found one of the bums that took it and was demanding money for it. Couldn't get any more ghetto that this.

We really enjoyed this spot. Unfortunately the boats and jet skis fly through this area while kids are swimming. There is a lot of homeless people in the area and we found broken glass in the sand.

A good place to rest on the American River Bike Trail...or to picnic and BBQ on a warm summer day in Sacramento. A good view of Discovery Park across the American River. You can often see sea lions feeding on salmon in the fall through spring.

Paid 5 dollars to get in, and please have cash or you will be turned back, you could go to the beach too if you want. People brought their boats,jet ski and kayak. Ramp to the water is great and DART( drowning accident rapid team) on sight. Space for BBQ and family gatherings. You can host a party, restroom at the first parking, but grass is full of weed, and scanty. That's what need to be worked on.
