Tjing Tjing House

Honestly impeccable service and seriously delicious food! We went to Tjing Tjing House on First Thursday and were pleasantly surprised to find a drink special - 2 drinks for R180, which was such a great deal. The portions might look small, but don’t be fooled, they’re super filling and packed with flavour. The atmosphere is vibrant yet intimate, and the staff are warm, attentive! Whether you’re there for dinner or just a few cocktails on the rooftop, it’s a top-tier experience. Definitely a must-visit spot in Cape Town, especially on a first Thursday night!

Myself and three friends went to Tjing Tjing for cocktails and dinner. I had been to the restaurant a couple of years back - good, but not blown away. HOWEVER, our experience last week was absolutely fantastic! Every cocktail was phenomenal! The food, outstanding! We shared a variety of plates - buns, dumpling, wings, pickles, wedges, and more. Thank you Tjing Tjing! We will definitely be back soon.

Food was excellent. Huge shout out to our waitress Emma for being so patient, friendly and efficient. She went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Definitely coming back

We saw the restaurant because of a recommendation on YouTube. We were in the areas and decided to go check it out, and it did not disappoint. As soon as we walked in, we were served by our amazing waiter Kat, who gave us a brief insight on the menu, and recommended a few dishes. We had the chicken bao buns/ hirata, and the chicken and sweet potato gyozas. It was all incredibly yummy, although I do have to comment that the chicken gyozas were quite spicy. The hiratas were the best I’ve ever had!! For anyone in the area, I can only advise to check out this great place.

We swinged by Tjing Tjing House for a quick lunch before first Thursdays. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. The food was incredibly( I had chicken dumplings) and the cocktails were just as good. All-in-all I’d really recommend visiting here but do make a reservation as seating can be quite limited. I can’t wait to come back dor the roof-top area!

Really great experience for a night out. The food is really worth it and what an experience! There are three levels, with a whole different atmosphere. From the diner level to more formal setting and even sunken takes into the floor! If you are in the area and look at ng for an experience, defenitely drop in here.

The cocktails were nothing short of impressive—each one was beautifully balanced, with unique flavors and a level of craftsmanship that you can only find at the highest standard. You could really taste the care and attention to detail that went into each creation. The rooftop ambiance is perfect for a relaxed evening out, offering a stylish, yet welcoming vibe that makes it ideal for catching up with friends or enjoying a special night out. The views were incredible, adding an extra layer of charm to the experience. Next time, I’m definitely going to try some of their delicious food offerings. If the cocktails are anything to go by, I can only imagine how exceptional the food must be. Tjing Thing House is definitely a spot I’ll be returning to. The combination of fantastic drinks, amazing atmosphere, and excellent service makes it an easy recommendation for anyone looking for a memorable night out!

We visited Tjing Tjing Torii restaurant (bottom floor) for restaurant week. The portions were massive but the food just wasn’t to my liking. The pork belly donburi was very rich but the beef donburi was delicious. I would definitely try the smoked sweet potato gyoza and the chicken gyoza (a bit spicy though). Overall it was good and had to take leftovers home because we couldn’t finish all of it!!
