A pearl in the heart of Jerusalem. The menu befits a coffee place in Israel but also includes interesting twists and more sophisticated (alcoholic) drinks. The crew is colourful, kind and joyful. The immaculate vibe of the place radiates through the waitresses' interactions with each other, their laughs and goofy gestures. While an easygoing atmosphere could sometimes translate into inattentive service, here was quite the opposite: they worked without delay and were very attentive. For example, they put a jar of cold water on each table straight away(!) - incredible how impressive this simple forthcoming gesture is in the wilderness and heat of the Israeli restaurant scene. The service remained excellent throughout our entire meal. The food was tasty and well made. The food wasn't extraordinary, but the portions were fair, the ingredients were fresh and the breads & pasta were high quality. We got two discounted mimosas with our pasta which were nice as well. And of course, the whole place is a bookshop and a gallery. If all other reasons haven't sufficed - you should visit it solely for this one (especially if you read Hebrew!). P.S. the music was excellent, I wish they'd send me their playlist

I like this place! Atmosphere is nice, food is great, and nice people. As other people says, finding entrance is a bit tricky. We luckily could take the seat near bookshelves, felt like I was in the bookstore or library. If you go in winter, some seats are cold so better to bring warm clothes. The portions were quite big, same as American, we were just two so only could have 3 dishes. Israeli cheese were our favorite, it didn’t have so strong taste and smell but good to try. English menu available, credit card accepted.

A well establishment place in Jerusalem, while most of the restaurants and bars from the 80' and 90' has long gone, "Tmol shilshom" survived the chaotic rapidly changing modern Jerusalem. I found this restaurant to be a gem in the heart of busy Jerusalem. A dairy kosher menu , changing cocktails menu. Classic design feels authentic. A library oriented in the place with books to buy and take home. And the staff was simply great, our waitress knew what to fit to our preferations . Very recommended!

Most of the staff were sweet, the food was nice. There was a rather long wait to get a table, though we called ahead of time the same day to reserve and were told there's no need, just show up. The hosts weren't there either, I had to go inform them that we and a few other groups were waiting. So far it was fine. The waitresses were generally earnest and polite. There was one member of the staff who was wearing uncomfortably low-rise pants, to a degree I was uncomfortable about the idea of them touching my food or utensils. (They were very mobile and constantly walking past) This person also acted rudely towards someone with me when they tried to request service. Most of the staff were great, but there are very low standards for staff at this cute cafe.

Probably the best coffee shop in Jerusalem! Not many vegan options but the few they have are so tasty, and combined with the nuce atmosphere, makes it a very great place to visit. The inside designed as an old library and you can read the books while drinking your coffee. Service is amazing and prices are reasonable. Make sure to book your table!

This place is extremely special, the way its designed looks authentic and beautiful. Lots of art. Service was great, the waitress was helpful. Food was delicious, of high quality and the portions were a little more than enough. A little pricey but definitely worth it. Me and my Wife had a very enjoyable dinner here. Recommended.

We dined here when we last visited Jerusalem and enjoyed it. Given that we were staying close by, it was the first place we went. Again, it didn’t disappoint, and we went a second time a couple of nights later. Both visits were very positive. The food is fresh and creative. We really enjoyed our vegan gnocchi, Lemon Papadelle, and shuckshuka as well as one of their salads. The restaurant is located in a back courtyard around from the pedestrian street, Yoel Moshe Solomon. (Access it by making a left into the short alley at the beginning of the street, if you are coming from Zion Square.) It was an artist and writers hangout and still reflects that vibe. The service was friendly and the staff match the feel of the place. If you are in the area, check it out.
