The perfect spot to refresh after hiking to the 99 fathers cave and the staniakos fortress! The food, drinks, service, people (and cats) were amazing. Thank you so much for being so hospitable. What an unexpected gem of a place!

Amazing place! Small village in the mountains of Crete surrounded by lush greenery. Home made food, but I mean real home made. Visit if you can😀❤

A light breakfast in Astratigos as I started my journey north from Paleochora. There are many interesting natural products, and books etc on sale. I am glad I got there as it opened at 10.00.

Loved this local cafe, we were lucky enough to volunteer here for a few weeks. Lovely food! Also has great local olive oil, wine, raki and honey for sale. This cafe is a good location to find out about the local walks and sites in the area which are also a must see!

A tiny universe in South Crete Would you happen to find art and poetry, excellent traditional cuisine, affordable lodgings, touristic territory development and delightful company all together in one place? This is what Alfa Café Restaurant and accommodation can offer you, if you are open to climb a little up from Paleochora beach towards a small town, named Azogires. Lucky, the owner, is a corteous person willing to listen to you, but also to share his thoughts through poetry. He will illustrate the paths around Azogires, such as the way to the Monastery of the Holy Fathers and the carved caves. He is also a great cook and prepares a delicious speciality named "Sofia's eggs" out of a secret recipe. In the cozy atmosphere of the café, you will also be able to purchase home-made herbal infusions, raki, fruits... And if you take accomodation there, you can advantage of a common kitchen, as well as a big yoga room. All this makes it a truly, non-touristic, experience if Greece.
