To Maridaki

Simply stated, the food here is fabulous. The service is close to a 5, but it seems to take awhile for them to acknowledge your presence initially. So you may sit for a bit before they say anything to you, even when the restaurant isn't busy. Once they speak to you and bring water, the service improves. They seem to appreciate it when you try to speak Greek, and will help you with speaking it. Some of them speak very good English, some speak only a little, but they try. They are friendly, the food is amazing, so this is definitely a great restaurant to visit.

The restaurant’s reviews speak for itself but I also wanted to chime in to show just how good the food is here. It’s by far the best place we have tried so far on Crete, and one that we can see ourselves coming back to many times. We tried the green salad, fried calamari, salmon steak and sea bream. All were fantastic! We also got a complimentary strawberry sorbet for dessert. It was better than some sorbet from gelato shops. Overall, a great experience. We will back again!

The short of it is that this spot was the best and most delicious meal we had in 10 days in Athens and Crete. We had plenty of decent meals but none really knocked our socks off except this place! Fresh smelts fried to perfection. Delicious and fresh greens and vegetables and perfectly cooked and seasoned whole sea bream. Nothing but praise. It was a Saturday night so the service was a little harried but otherwise a great experience and meal. Do not miss it.

I ate at this seafood restaurant for two consecutive days and the experience was very pleasant! The environment of the restaurant is very elegant and clean, with a unique decoration style, giving people a comfortable feeling. The service here is also very thoughtful, the owner and the waiters are warm, friendly, meticulous and thoughtful. In short, it was a very pleasant dining experience and I highly recommend this seafood restaurant. This restaurant must be your best choice in Chania. I will come to eat again tomorrow.

Super nice restaurant on the border of old town Chania. The service was very friendly and helpful and the location is very nice and charming. The food was quite good. All we had tasted good though the charcoal grilled dishes took a bit long, the other food was cold already. Nevertheless I would come back next time.

Amazing seafood place that I found just by walking by one night. Went back the next day for lunch. Tried multiple dishes including fresh octopus, fresh squid, whole fish and fried shrimp. Anything fried including the shrimp were top notch. Squid was amazing too. Octopus was a bit chewier than I liked so I would avoid this. Whole fish was cooked perfectly. Prices very reasonable for seafood - one of our favourite restaurants in Chania. Free dessert of sorbet was served which was great.

The best fish I've had in a long time! Grilled swordfish and a side of zucchini fritters. Friendly service and a lively atmosphere. This place is known as the #1 seafood restaurant in Chania.

Decent range of seafood options. I ordered the fresh octopus but it tasted as if it had been frozen. I did however enjoy some fried calamari. Service wad a bit slow and I noticed a lot of rubbish and spilt food on the kitchen floor which had just been left there. The cleanliness is therefore a concern. Hence 4 stars being given and not 5.
